Came here during Happy Hour with my friend.  At his recommendation, he wanted to show me the one Yardhouse with the waterfront view.  It was a bit chilly that day, so we opted to sit inside.  I walked outside and saw what he meant though.  It was a nice view and added to the ambiance of the restaurant.
Since we didn't want to freeze, we just ordered our food inside.  The interior centered around a bar in the middle.  It had this contemporary feel to it.  The seats we were seated at was in the middle of everything too, which made things convenient.  We ordered the chicken nachos, sliders and spicy thai chicken.  Between us, we eat alot and we couldn't finish all of it.
My favorite part of the meal was the Blueberry Hefenweizen beer that we ordered.  It was a random choice that turned out to be really good.  You taste the blueberry and it goes down smooth.  Same great buzz
You must pay for parking and I don't think it's validated.

I have been to this yard house about 4 times or so, and I like it very much.  I consider this one to have better service than the one in Riverside and Brea (the worst).

The food is delicious, and it gets better during happy hour.

I do feel like I get a little guilt trip when I order from the happy hour menu and not order alcohol I'm not too big on drinking).  It seems like the waitresses/waiters want me to order something else so their tips can get higher?  I guess you can't blame that the economy is so bad, but if they were a little bit more discrete about it, I'd feel more comfortable.  I do however, give a great tip when I see that they're trying to be sincere. Hopefully they are reading this review.

Another generic chain attempting to be something more.  It has food. The food is edible. It has a view across the harbor with boats owned by mostly rich people.  It has an extensive beer list. For many people, I suppose that suffices to make it a five star dining experience.

The hostess was nice, sort of looked like Mandy Moore. I can appreciate that. Seated inside at one of those stool tables. I don't like these. I don't feel like eating my dinner on a stool...feels like being at the children's table at Thanksgiving. Anyway...unfortunately it was some football playoff weekend and that section of the restaurant was filled with said people and those said people were screaming every thirty seconds. I kept having spontaneous abortions...odd for a male. The only time I scream like that is during sex. Asked the hostess if we could sit outside away from the sub-zero IQ crowd and were accommodated quickly.

Outside was alright. Except there were speakers blasting seventies music located over every table. Really loud. So join the Magdalenian crowd on the inside or relive my best cocaine years on the outside. Chose coke.

The service were VERY slow. VERY slow. It was crowded, but the service was still SLOW. Had beer...since they've got several thousand varieties apparently. Why, I don't know. Look, people, stock a few good beers of different varieties, rotate them, but having a list of a hundred on hand is kind of pointless.

The appetizer was the lobster, crab and artichoke dip.  It tasted fine. The plate was huge, but the size is deceptive.  Most of the plate was covered with tortilla chips. The actual dip in the middle is fairly small. You will consume maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the chips and the dip is gone. But it was alright.

For the main I have the Blue Crab Cake Hoagie. The flavors didn't blend well for me. I found it edible...but barely. Certainly nothing special.

Between plates took forever. Forever. As I said, they were busy but this took forever...and being blasted by the music at the same time...and watching lonely people walking their dogs begging for attention.

I'm not sure why people like this place. It's just another Claim Jumper/Outback Steakhouse/Chilis/Hello, I'm generic trying to be intimate and cool even though I can seat several thousand people.

I love this Yard house not only because they have a really good food and beverages selection but because I've had many great memories here. I have shared first dates, girls nights, mothers days, birth days, graduations, and even good byes. I can honestly say I have tried the entire Yard house Favorites! :) My favorites are:
Spinach Cheese dip, fried calamari, egg rolls, chicken enchilada stack, onion ring towers, southern fried chicken, orange peel chicken, and the spicy jambalaya.

This yard house is really nice because you have an ocean view of Long Beach. The patio is wonderful with dim lighting perfect for first dates. The Yard house has 200 beer selections but they do not have Coronas. LOL I though this was odd since Coronas is a popular beer, but you will not miss it here because beer is over flowing. You can always try a new and tasty beer. Music is always loud and the crowd can get really loud, which I enjoy. You can find a Yard House in Pasadena, Downtown LA, and Irvine but the one in Long Beach is my personal favorite.

The boyfriend and I don't come here too often since we like to venture out of the whole chain restaurants. However, this yardhouse is pretty saweet.

It's downtown, by the water, indoor/outdoor seating, the workers are normally nice and fun.

We all know they have a buncha beers to try from which is fun, they have a pretty eclectic menu and everything I've tried has been good. From meat to fish to pasta to pizza to fries to dessert to salad, I've liked it all.

Verdict: Best time here is at night so you can see all the lights at the dock.

The Yard House is my good old standby whenever I'm in Long Beach.  The food is great, the location on the water is very nice and the huge selection of food and beer on the menu is enough to please even the pickiest!

As an app, I had the Poke Stack which is super yummy! For a main dish, I had the Thai chicken salad which was very tasty and very filling.  For dessert we ordered the trio....if you spend an extra dollar they will let you switch out one of the 3 for a creme brulee which I did...and wow, was I pleased.  The Creme Brulee was the perfect mix of creamy , sugary happiness but with banana's on it!!  It was very very good and I definitely recommend it.

This place is great for dates, business dinners, happy hours etc.  The only drawback is that you have to pay for parking.  Sure they validate it, but I personally hate going anywhere I have to pay to park. However that wont stop me from coming back!

The Yard House + the Shoreline Village = a great family outing for everyone. The family and I made a visit to this Yard House with my parents and mother in-law. My mom is a picky eater because of her sensitive diet. Thankfully for me, The Yard House is on her list of good restaurants.

The beer selection at this Yard House is incredible. I felt like a little kid at a candy store. My wife told me to stop staring at the bar area, I was drooling. I made sure to order the 6 pack sampler so I can have the opportunity to try an assortment of specialty beers. It was awesome!

We made it on time to try the lunch size portions which are available from 11am - 5pm. My dad and I both ordered the Roasted Turkey Melt. My side was the French onion soup and my dad ordered the Classic Ranch Salad. This was the first time I tried the French onion soup and it did not disappoint. Several onions, not overly salty, and plenty of cheese, this was a great soup. The sandwich was the right portion to leave me satisfied. My wife is addicted to the Blue Crab Cake Hoagie and ordered clam chowder with the meal. The clam chowder was surprisingly good, I recommend it. My mother in-law ordered the same as my wife.

My mom ordered the Gardein Penne with chicken. This dish comes with crimini mushrooms, asparagus & sun-dried tomatoes tossed in marsala cream sauce, dusted with Parmesan cheese. I tried a bite of this and was blown away. The mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes are fresh and amazing. The kids had the usual, pizza with the option of fruit on the side. I can't forget to talk about the ice cream treat at the end of the meal, my kids love that part.

Friendly and attentive service, just the way I like it. The manager stopped by to talk with us and ask about our lunch. It was a pleasure speaking with the manager because it wasn't phony. We made a visit here on a beautiful Friday morning which added to the experience and thus the five star review.

Been to a couple of Yard Houses now in my time and this one is pretty nice. It over looks the docks and the water which is a nice view. From my past Yard House reviews I always get the Spicy Jambalaya with Brown Rice always on point. Tried the Crunchy Ahi Salad and it was really good, might have to get that over the Jambalaya next time.

Lunch wasn't that busy on a Friday, but like most Yard Houses, expect a wait.

Also if your kinda tired of the beer menu and want to try something different, ask for an Upside Down Charlie Brown. If they don't know what that is tell them it's half Newcastle and half Shock Top. Give it a Try!!!

We came here for a few drinks after attending the convention across the street.  Since I dragged my boyfriend to the convention, I let him drag me to a sports bar (I'm not complaining.)  The game was on and he had beer in hand - what makes men happier?  Like all Yard Houses, they have so many beers; it's hard to choose just one!  So we had 3!  Plus, they give me samples since I couldn't decide what I was in the mood for.  I love Napa Smith.  (Read my review for them, too!)

As for food - We also ordered an appetizer since we had dinner reservations somewhere else.  We ordered the spicy tuna roll which was actually like a spicy tuna cake!  It was amazing!  Spicy tuna on top of cucumbers and avocado.  What's better than that?

    Go try it!

We've been here several times, and generally, it's an OK way to spend a couple of hours.  It's loud, and service can be spotty, but you can have a good time here.
But the bad news is, it's located in Long Beach, and going there without knowing the dangers is like a sheep wandering into a wolves' den.  According to at least one source (http://en.wikipedia.or...), "The area has long been plagued with gang violence, and is home to ... two rival Crip factions, gangs affiliated with the Mexican Mafia, Sons Of Samoa Crips and ...the 15 street Suicidals. Ethnic tensions...have added a new dimension to gang violence in the neighborhood... Homelessness, drug abuse and prostitution are all also found at well above-average rates in the neighborhood."

On top of that, we visited early this year, and in avoiding a fight in an intersection between two motorists who'd left their cars, we made a turn onto a street where they didn't want traffic.  Not the wrong way on a one-way, not onto a pedestrian walkway, just a street where they didn't want cars.  The fine?  $250!  If that seems a bit steep to you, remember that the politicians who've let the budget get out of control for the past decade have to get more money somewhere.  Visitors are easy targets.

So the question becomes, is it more important to avoid the gangs, the violence, the drug sellers, and the prostitutes, or to avoid the Police when in Long Beach?  Or maybe it would just be better to visit Belmont Shores, or Seal Beach, or one of the thousands of safe, friendly places in Southern California?

This has to be hands down the best Yard House from all the ones out there. Maybe cause its the original but it also has a good layout. You have the water next to the dock and can see the sun set. Great food, everything I have ordered here has been tasty. The selection of beer is extensive and sure you can find something you'll enjoy. Happy hour has the best prices though, many selections of food to order from.

The BF and I discovered Yard House while on vacation in Long Beach. We had no specific plans for dinner, but it was a beautiful night out...so we decided to take a stroll towards Shoreline Village and see what we found. While walking along the dock, we noticed Yard House had a large patio area with heaters (it was October and getting a bit chilly as the sun went down), so we figured good call.

Even though they were quite packed, we had no problem getting seated on the patio so we could take in the beautiful view. The beer selection was a bit overwhelming, but if I was a local, I would LOVE it. I can't remember the last time I saw such an extensive list of brews. My favorites of the ones we tried were the Sea Dog Bluepaw Wild Blueberry and the Widmer Hefeweizen.

We started out with an order of fried calamari, which was very good. Then for dinner I had the roast beef dip, and the flavor was intense. I don't know if it's the garlic or some other seasoning they use, but it was a really great sandwich (and I'm somewhat of a french dip connoisseur). I would've loved to try something sweet for dessert, but with such a long list of beers to try, our tanks were full. Service was great all meal long, and the well was never dry.

This place always seems to be busy, so if you have large group, I would recommend making a reservation. It's a little loud inside, so if you're looking for a more romantic meal, I would highly suggest the patio.

I tried their mac n cheese entree..... wow talk about a heart attack - it was very good but I can only have it once or twice a yr. It is cheesy, greasy and tasty.
ALERT ALERT ALERT ... discovered the best creme brule  - they have banana creme brule. There are pcs of banana in it AND chocolate (maybe even macadamia nuts) on the bottom of the cup. YUM!!!!   I will go back for sure!!

    This place is too expensive!!!!

We went there with a party of 25+ people. Naturally, my friend whos birthday it was, called ahead of time to reserve some seats. They said that they didn't do that on weekends. Well, then I guess she called to give them a heads up. We all got there on time at 1:30 and were seated an hour later, which IMO was quick considering the place was packed.

Waitresses were very good, we had two waiting on us and they didn't forget a thing that we asked for, they looked cool, calm, and collected. No complaints about them, they did a great job! They even asked everyone about splitting checks, and because they were so quick to accommodate everyone, the fact that they added gratuity was no biggie as I tipped extra as well. The prices for the food though is astronomical! For the price of the food, you'd think that the actual meal would have been bigger. My turkey melt sandwich had like three slices of turkey, barely any cheese, it was dry and wasn't even the size of a six inch sub at Subway. That was so disappointing. My husbands meal was 10 bucks and he got 6 pieces of vegetarian buffalo wings. Including almost 3 bucks to add a salad.

The area that this place is in is beautiful. Right by the Queen Mary and other cute shops. It costs a buttload to park there too, when we got out of this place, we spent just about $75 bucks which included parking. My friend was completely worth all of this, but I think I will avoid this money pit. I just don't like the food here especially for these prices.

One star for pretty location, second star for great service. That's about it.

You can't really say anything bad about a place that has the beer selection that this place has.  No one else compares.  Yeah, they got rid of the yard glass, but I rarely saw anyone actually drinking from one anyway.

The food is nothing to write home about, but you can have any beer imaginable with your meal, so that makes up for it.  They also have a good martini selection.

We came in early after the marathon and a good thing too because it got awfully chaotic on our way out.   I felt bad for the employees who had to deal with a bunch of stinky runners all afternoon.

Service is always good.  They overcooked our steak sandwich, but they had a replacement out within 5 minutes.

Definitely a better alternative to Tequila Jack's next door.

    Beer!

The Yard House specializes in beer - and lots of it.  Sadly they do not serve yards anymore - but they do have half yards which is fine as well- but I sort of wanted to play with a yard of beer while watching football- get it?  Yard - football?  Yea - don't hate me...

The beer selection is amazing - literally something for everyone.  Impressive show of all the taps running along the back of the bar- it must be hell down in the keg room when something needs changing...

Amazingly, the food was outstanding.  On top of that, they had a great selection of happy hour half price foods available and they were all decent sized and delicious.  We ordered pizza (personal sized) and turkey burgers which were outstanding.  Fresh ground turkey and you could taste it.

Prices were very good and the place is large.  wait staff was excellent so what are you waiting for?

It is located in a scenic pier area so you have to park elsewhere and walk.

At night this place gets pretty busy and its right next to the boats so if you eat outside you can get a pretty good view.  I enjoy the sun, so eating outside is always a plus for me.

I don't know where I've been all this time, but the Yard house, which I always assumed was full of the same type of folk that frequent the bars up and down 2nd street that I can't stand, is actually a great place that is seriously VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY!

I have never, ever seen veggie sliders, veggie wings, and veggie chicken nachos on a happy hour menu, or any menu that's not our home.  That wasn't it. There was a ton of vegetarian food on the menu, and apparently you can substitute veggie chicken for real chicken on lots of dishes.

There are a million types of beers, and a decent wine selection for this type of spot, and you can sit on the water, which I love.

I dock them a point because if you stay over two hours, parking ends up being eight bucks, which pretty much cancels out any savings you made on the happy hour menu.  Next time, I'm riding my bike.

Upon arrival, I knew this place must have some good eats. The ambiance was right. and the prices were...reasonable.

    Appetizers:

If you come here, you must try the truffle fries with parmesan and herbs!!!
And the ONION RING TOWER. The sauces accompanied by it were not that great.

The service was slow, and we were encountered by three different waitresses.

And heads up, validate your parking here and the first two hours are only $1. However, the parking enforcer didn't give us this deal and decided to charge us regular price of three dollars. Its cool though.

This is what we ordered as for entree:
Lunch Specials go from 1-5pm and we were fortunate enough to be there  within the time.

-I got the blue crab hoagie, with a choice of salad or soup. For about 8 dollars it wasnt that bad, however, the blue crab hoagie didnt taste like anything. Literally...all I tasted was the pickles I put in it -_____-

-The [mac + cheese] squared (a play on E=mc2) was about 10 dollars for a small plate of it. I expected a family sized portion, or at least in a medium sized dish.

-Jambalaya-about 10 dollars, weird flavors...by that I mean I mean it wasn't harmonious, the blackened shrimp stood out from the whole dish.

-Asian shrimp bowl-about 7 dollars, exceptional, but not rememberable enough.

    \Would I come back? .....May...be...

The dining area is relatively small so it is not hard to understand why the wait gets soo backed up. Just like every other establishment along the Shoreline Drive, the Yardhouse has a breathtaking view of the ocean. (A real treat during sunset)

The crowd is generally older-middle aged, but I know for a fact this is the choice destination for young college kids to have their first legal drink.  So around birthday season, when ever that is, you can expect a minority of younger kids occupying a corner of the restaurant.

    "Late Night" (Sun-Wed 10pm - Close)
Discount% off on select Appetizers and select Pizzas.
Various Drink Specials (i.e. Beers, Well Drinks, Wine. etc)

    What I like to order:
Seared Ahi Tuna Sliders - served on toastedbuns with crisp lettuce, deep fried onion strings, and house mayo. ($13.99 - discount% off at Happy Hour)

BBQ Chicken Pizza - BBQ chicken topped with mozzarella, cilantro, red onion, and smoked gouda. Drizzled with BBQ sauce (12.75 - discount% off at Happy Hour)

Beer, Ale, Spirits, IPA... - House Honey Blonde, Blue Moon, Shock Top, Rogue Dead Guy Ale, Stella Artois, Big Sky Moose Drool, Lost Coast Raspberry Brown...
(what ever really depending on what mood I'm in)

Ciders - Wyder's Pear Cider & Wyder's Raspberry Cider (Ciders are very delicious)

*For those ladies that tend to stay away from the beer, I would suggest ordering a cider. They are delicious and not to overwhelming on the carbonation. Something like a soft alcohol concentrated soda.

As weird as it sounds, I've been wanting to try the MooShoo eggrolls here for a while.  They sounded really good on the menu.  However, I'm rarely in this area; and each time I plan to come here with friends or my mom, the plans fall through.

I was in this area a few days ago for work, and I got out early, so I decided to come over and try some.  It wasn't quite happy hour yet, so I decided to get my order to go, and eat it at home.  I was told that they would take 15 minutes to prepare.  I didn't care.  It's not like there was anyplace else I needed to be.  Plus, 15 minutes is usually the standard.  I ended up waiting 25 minutes, which turned out to be hardly worth it.

The eggrolls were good, but I was disappointed that I couldn't taste a hint of the cream cheese that was on the description.  I couldn't see any trace of it inside the eggroll, either.  No big deal, because the chicken was nicely seasoned, and there were some nice, flavorful veggies packed in the eggroll as well.  That was just a minor annoyance.

My biggest disappointment was the quantity.  A whole eggroll is slightly bigger than those eggrolls you buy in a box in the freezer section at Costco.  What I got was one whole eggroll of that size, cut in half, and then two three-quarter eggrolls.  That amounts to two-and-a-half eggrolls, at $10?  Total rip-off!  I don't exactly live close to Yardhouse, and I didn't discover this until ariving home, so I couldn't exactly take them back.  I felt that I definitely didn't get my money's worth here.

I would give four stars for the service, though.  I would've given five had I not waited 25 minutes (instead of the 15 I was told).  The people at the to-go counter were extremely friendly, and one of the girls went out of her way to get me extra plum ginger sauce.

I'll definitely return to Yardhouse again at some point, because I had a good experience at the Irvine Spectrum location a few years ago; but I don't know if it will be this particular location or not.  I likely won't be getting the eggrolls again, though, unless it's happy hour, and whoever I'm with really wants them.

We stumbled in here after a walk around downtown and the pike.  The inside was crowded and busy, a little too sports bar-ish for me.  But we sat outside; good food, good service, a couple of glasses of wine and sunset over the water, nice!

The food is meh.  It's a yardhouse.  Nothing different than any other yardhouse, but what makes this place great is that their staff is really really nice.  I ordered some chicken garlic noodle dish and it was awful.  I normally never return food, but when the waitress took her second round she OFFERED to allow me to switch out for something else.  I ordered some angel hair pasta that was very fresh and tasty.

Just like any other yardhouse, they have all kinds of foods to please all pallets.  The signature thing about yardhouse are the 100 some odd beers that you can order on tap.  On top of that, you can order it by the YARD stick.  If you can drink 24 oz of beer at once before getting warm, help yourself.

If you have your meal outside you can over look the marina.  Bad thing is sometimes the engines of the boats can be loud and you can smell the smog.

Other perks about this place is that it is very open.  It's not only a restaurant but it's kind of a fun bar.  TV's at all angles and an open circular bar to mingle.  They have clean restrooms :) and Very open parking but I think it costs about $7 for two hours.

I love the yard House - any location. But this one is especially nice because of the area of Long Beach and view of the Harbor. I enjoy the outdoor dining. I have never been unhappy with a meal here, and although it is a chain - I am a big fan.

Sitting at the bar and sampling beer is fun. I always end up going back to the black & tan - so great.

Fun place to wind down after work, watch a game, grab lunch or have a date night.  But it is a bit loud for romance.

Don't forget to validate your parking ticket!

I dunno why, but I'll always have a love affair with Yardhouse. Maybe because they have a decent sized selection for vegetarians, like myself. We are not forgotten. (:

Every time I come here I always get a new drink (mixed or beer), and I have never had one I didn't like.

It is pretty pricey, but I just don't care. Sighh

But when it gets crowded, service can get a bit neglectful.

The Yard House is a favorite venue of mine that I go to on special occassions. I love to have their beer sampler as they have so many beers to choose from. Also, they have a variety of appetizers that are really good as well. I think they have reverse happy hour at some point so those appetizers at a certain time cost less.

Anyhow, this Yard House is by the shore which is very nice. It is also nice that this location validates your parking. Most places actually don't really do this so that's an added bonus. I think there are other shops within this complex worth exploring after you have eaten at the Yard House.

Hmmm, a lot of the girls that I saw were only partially dressed. It was Saturday night around 11pm, a couple of friends and I were wandering around Long Beach looking for a place to eat, this was the place we decided on because we were very hungry and at the end of our tethers.

I couldn't believe they ID'd me at the door. There were bouncers at the door. Is this place a restaurant/bar or a club? The customers seemed to be all in their early to mid 20's and the meat market vibe was definitely prevalent. There were tv screens everywhere with different sports on. It was difficult to carry a conversation with loud music blaring at us.

The service was efficient, the salad was soaking in dressing, and the main entree's were well made. Would I go here again? Only if it is in the afternoon or I didn't have any other options late at night.

I really like Yard House, maybe its because my family always denies me it in favor of BJs, and despite the fact that I giggle like a schoolgirl at BJs's name, I have always liked Yard House more. So I wasn't against going there before getting on our cruise out of Long Beach, and was not disappointed in this location at all.

It is right on the water, with nice outdoor seating (granted they maximize this space to fit as many patrons as they can), and a beautiful view. Its a tad hard to see on the street, so just know when you get into the large parking lot, that's where you want to be, they will validate, but even with validation you'll still be paying, think of it as a discount validation.

The food here is really delicious, but maybe that's because my taste buds are simple things, if you put truffle oil in your food, I'm almost positively going to love it. I shared the Gorgonzola burger (with added truffle fries) and the lunch Mac & Cheese. The burger itself was good, but it didn't stand out in particular. However, the truffle fries and mac & cheese really did it for me, and we gobbled them all up. The rest of my family wasn't super impressed with their food, but I think they enjoyed it. My sister got their berry salad (not positive if that's its name) and it was missing the walnuts, the manager was nice enough to give her a side of truffle fries for free for the mix up.

While we were waiting for our food a pot pie was taken to another table and it was huge, with a flaky top probably the size of a medium dinner plate. And though I did not enjoy any of their beverages, I know that Yard House has a huge beer selection of what dreams are made of.

They are a tad more pricey than a regular chain restaurant, but you hardly see truffle anything at your local Olive Garden, and all in all I enjoyed my experience here. 4 stars!

*******ATTENTION YELPERS, AND ALL OF YOU HARD-WORKING PEOPLE IN TH FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY*******

Were you aware that any anonymous coward can go on the internet in a pathetic attempt to get an honest, good person fired from their job? Oh yes, it is true. just ask Holly A. And oh yes! Stop the presses! The media and the rest of the world must hear about one person who works at a restaurant in long beach. Forget about Japan and their suffering, Norway and their pain, the upheaval in the Middle East, and a tanking U.S. economy. Screw those causes, because Holly A has a much more important story for the media to cover!

I keep trying different dishes on the menu and I would say that I am more disappointed than pleased.  The drinks are over-priced and Happy Hour ends at 6PM unless it is Monday (Monday night foot ball is happy hour all night).  Food is pretty bland.  Yard House for me is a place to go when there isn't much else around.  I would skip it if possible and try another place.
