Ahh yardhouse... my little home away from home.. however i am feeling after i finish school, after i get drunk and wanna drink some more, or if im just plain hungry.. this is where i will always want to be.. only of course if its happy hour. I just love the fact that they have a 3-6 pmhappy hour m-f and a sun-wen 10-12pm happy hour.
I live for good happy hours and a variety of beer and lots of it. Appetizers are mostly all half off and i havent tried one of the happytirzers that werent good.. yes happytizer it what it should be called during happy hour. I can never get enough of the seared ahi sashimi or the hawaiian poke stack.. their calamari is devine and my god they are the only place that i can find blue hawaiian hefeweizen.. mm so good if u like hef i suggest u try that one.
other than that i never tried any of the food on the regular menu.. yes im a college student what do u want from me? money? hah.. not much ull get
But overall i would rate this yardhouse as:
Price: 4.5/5 IT cud be cheaper but its still as good as it gets
Food/Happy Hour variety: 5/5
Alcohol: 5/5 so many to choose and if u dont like that beer u can get a new one for free (as long as u dont drink all of it or more than half of it lol)
Service: 4/5 just because out of the many times i been here they forgot to give me a lemon, otherwise very good service
atmosphere: 5/5 love the dimness so when i drink u cant see how red i get (damn my azn genes)

Ok so I came here yesterday with a group of friends on the half way point of a 56 mile bike ride from El Monte. We stopped in for a quick bite a a beer. Being a hot day we had sun screen on but we wanted to stay in the shade and they had a pretty good area out side with coverage by umbrellas.
Our first server was Ashley who was night but just not very attentive nor did she help with the one person in our group who asked if we could adjust an umbrella because she was getting burnt. Also she switched out a drink for us but left in on the tab, finally when asking for dressing on the side and not getting it she tried to tell us the chicken was coated in a dressing which it wasnt instead of just bringing the dressing. I only mention these petty things because it was frustrating although as soon as our server was switched to Jessica, all was fixed for the most part except the billing issues which Kurt helped to straighten out.
On to the food, great flavor, good value, and over all enjoyable, something that can be hit or miss with these corporate type of places. So many beers on tap and a good variety makes it hard not to like this place. Location on the water is nice too. Having had all service issues resolved and really enjoying the Bacon BBQ burger, garlic fries, and chocolate stout float, yes beer float!!!! We will be back soon. I love bike rides, good food, good beer and good company.

When you go to the Yard House... Please... No matter what the weather is, sit on the patio. They have heat lamps for nippier days. This patio oozes all types of, (damn I 'm so glad that I live in this city) aura... The sunset is gorgeous. The view of the Pike is gorgeous...
The food is pretty ... mmm o.k. The things that I had I always felt like, "This is good, but it needs.... SALT!" The Jambalaya on pasta is yummy. They aren't stingy with the meat... Crawfish, sausage, shrimp. YUM!
The Jamaican wings everyone talks about are pretty bland, UNLESS you soak them in the dipping sauce.
They have about a trillion beers so there is a beer for anyone. The cocktails are good. But make sure you go for Happy Hour so you can get your well earned discounts.
Its a safe place for a second date or happy hour... But do your self a favor and sit on the patio.
O and its one of the only chain restaurants in Long Beach that is worth your money.

Beach front brewery. Need I say more?
From what I understand this place is good for lunch and happy hour, but not so much for weekend late nights unless you're really looking to party. For lunch though they do make a nice dish. I had a grilled cheese salad combo that was made with roma tomatoes, cheddar, gorgonzola, swiss and fontina cheese served on crusty artisan bread. Now normally this comes with a tomato bisque soup, but our server was nice enough to allow me to trade for a house salad. The salad was super delicious, too.
The Yard House has an amazing large selection of beers and the make beer floats. Guinness and ice cream? Yes, please! They also have a nice water view and are next to that weird fake town that looks like New England so feel free to pretend you're on vacation while lunching here. It certainly makes things more fun and you don't feel bad about drinking during lunch if you are pretending you don't have to go back to work.

This review is for all three Yard Houses I have been to (Long Beach, Irvine, and Vegas) -- best place to come and celebrate a day of life with friends.
Over 200+ selections of beer on tap + variety of mixed drinks + best onion rings ever + other great variety of dishes. Love their ahi sandwich. (Check my pics for drool effects). Definitely my favorite restaurant chain!
Prices are mediocre (but not absurd), and the ambiance is always full of energy and fun!
The place is huge so you can throw whatever shindig you want here, but be forewarned...EVERYONE loves the Yard House...so be expected to wait...at the bar =D.
I wish they would open one up somewhere in the Bay Area.
Just like any other Yardhouse, except this one is always busy! I mean, people have to actually WAIT for a long time to get seated. Very busy, loud, fun, and has a great waterfront view and walkway.
Food is always outstanding, drinks are always refilled, and the service is always exceptional....even though they are BUSY!
Don't leave this place until you've tried a yard-long glass of beer, their mac & Cheese and their artichoke dip! Don't forget the creme brulee w/ strawberries! Mmmm......

This is place is good to come with friends or just a date night with the significant other..I still haven't tried the food yet here looks pretty promising I think next time I got out w. my bf to yardhouse we will have dinner & drinks plus the service is good here so why not?

Four stars because I'm a fan of Yardhouse in general. The beer selection is fantastic! And the bar setup is pretty cool (same in all the Yardhouse chain). However, this Yardhouse...perhaps I'd give a 3.5, but rounded up.
I got the (mac + cheese)^2, which was good, but didn't taste much like any cheese. It was more like pasta in a regular cream sauce. So it was good, but I was disappointed because I wanted to taste cheese in my macaroni and cheese.
I like darker beers, but not too heavy, so a Franziskaner Dunkel did the trick. Had a great night with friends in our group of 20. Would totally come back. The service was just okay, but I admit that any large group will give a little grief to the waiter. And the view of the sunset from the restaurant patio...absolutely amazing.
Love coming here!
I always go Saturday nights, and never had a problem finding a table.
I was amazed by the mixed drinks. If you know what an 'LA Water' is and you want to drink one of the best made, then this is the place to get it. Beer selection is great as well.
Staff is friendly and you don't have to worry about rude people.
Good times here.
The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the parking. Get it validated or else you'll be paying $8.
waterfront grading scale B Above average
Beer selection grading scale A Excellent
bartenders grading scale B Above average
I heard good things about this restaurant chain, but I always dismissed it as as just another BJ's where the food is not bad and the ambience is lively, but the place is overrated
And while that may be true for other Yardhouse restaurants, this particular location is GREAT. I'm not a beer guy, but I'll chug theirs... not because it's great, but because the sea dock environment is extremely calm, yet lively in that way that only California can offer you.
Happy hour gives you the best prices, and I'd say this is the PERFECT place for a spontaneous date with a lot of interest, especially if they've never been there before.

Let me say this first. I love the Yard House. I been to Vegas, Palm Desert, Newport Beach and I love it. Until Denver . . .
After eating there on the 11 of October with group of 40 friends, 5 of us got so sick that some of us needed an IV from dehydration after the runs for two days.
The manager was sympathetic and promised gift cards, but they never came. After speaking to another manager tonite, I am compelled to write this review. He was dismissive and questioned whether any of this even took place! I tried to reason with him for 20 minutes, but to no avail. No apology was offered until requested and he questioned if we should even receive gift cards- AFTER WE WERE LAID UP FOR 2 DAYS OF OUR VACATION! Poor customer treatment.
Seriously, who goes to Yard House for the food? Uh... I do now, and if you're in your right mind, you will too.
While it is true that the first thought of Yard House automatically sends a picture of a giant draft beer in your mind, you MUST try the food here. My friends and I were thoroughly enjoyed and satisfied by our meals, and while the beer is ofcourse the highlight of the experience, we couldn't stop raving about the food. The lobster garlic noodles, in my opinion, was the best seafood pasta I have ever had. And while most places give you a minuscule portion of seafood, Yard House piles on the shrimp and lobster. I literally had more seafood than noodles; and that my friends is the sign of a very good establishment. You get what you pay for.
They also brought a fruit cobbler for my friends 22nd birthday dessert. I must say, I'm not a fan of cobbler, but this one was to die for.
On to the beer! We had ordered 1/2 yards and glasses of atleast 5 different beers that night, and each and every one was perfect. My fave was the Lost Coast Apricot Wheat... but then again, anything from Lost Coast is awesome.
Oh Yard House, you never ever disappoint,... until the check comes. Yes, it is expensive, but it's worth indulging yourself for a special occasion.

This was the first Yard House that I've been to back in the early 2000s, and frequented this place when I used to live around the SGV hood. During that time, the concept of serving beer in a yard-long glass has not caught on yet. Now, there are other establishments that do the same. Having gone to the one in Irvine, Temecula, San Diego, and Chino Hills, this one, by far, has the best location - gorgeous view and there are other hang out spots nearby if you can dodge the Long Beach cops (assuming that you just downed a yard or two).
Their menu is pretty big, and the food is pretty good, but some dishes are pretty pricey. Speaking of pretty, this establishment is a magnet for pretty yuppies. Personally, whenever I come here, I just order some appetizers so I can focus on quaffing beer. I usually go for any red ale, porter, or stout. If I want to pass on beer, I go for the Escalade, which is a margarita with hpnotiq, Silver Caddy, or the Baja Cooler. Pinkies up bitches.
PRO: beer, Escalade margarita, pretty yuppies.
CON: always crowded, chipping the yardstick on the table and having to pay for the glassware, chipping your teeth on the yardstick and having to pay for dental work.

This is my favorite Yard House chain. Simply because it's romantic and just plain very cozy being here. Especially eating outside.
Food is always great. I always order the garlic noodles =)
A great atmosphere to take your date to, or a group and enjoy the night.
Without a doubt, this is my favorite place to happy hour. It doesn't get much better than sitting on the outside patio, watching the sun set over the LB marina, drinking a fine Belgian Ale or IPA on draft with good friends. Many of my summer afternoons are spent this way. Great prices on craft beers and 50% of most of their apps, most of which are quite good. I'd have been keen on giving this place 5 stars, but it's not a place to go in the evening. It gets loud and crowded, filled with douchebags, flat-billers and cheeseballs. Not my scene. Avoid the nightlife and go for they happy hour!
We came back for another birthday. 22nd birthday party. oh man we're all getting so old now.
Anyways.
The waitress we had this time outside, i think her name was Wendy? She was amazing and so freakin nice, compared to that librarian like creature that served us last time.
the manager was a douchebag. My friend wasn't even drunk, he is not a lightweight. but form what the manager saw him drink, he deemed it as enough and he cannot drink anymore.
So my friend took another shot and we got thrown out. Happy birthday right?
The manager also had the gratuity charged to our table before the check was out, which was weird because the group i came with, the 4 of us sat away from the main group and ordered after they were done eating, which i felt was wrong. If i got there at the same time, and if we had the same waitress as the other group, i would understand but really? Don't think we cant see you and hear you telling the waitress to tack that shit on. Which sucks because we wanted all of the tip to go to our waitress. She took our orders, brought our drinks and bussed our table.
My other friend had his Id rejected because he had moved and the card apparently came up invalid. but if he were to present it at the table, it wouldn't be a problem. Your system sucks.

this place is always a good place to eat. very consistent and pretty much everything you order is going to taste pretty good. The best part is the area, after a meal or before walking around the pier. a little pricy but I ussually just order a bunch of appitzers and get drinks
You gotta love the Yard House. How can you not love an upscale sports bar with delicious food and water views. We have been here several times, for both lunch & dinner, and have yet to be disappointed.
The menu has a huge selection of food (oh yeah, and beers!!!). I think they have the best BBQ Chicken Salad. Yum yum yum! But on our visits we have also shared lettuce wraps, edamame, and pizza. All delish. On our most recent visit with some out of town friends, I had a turkey burger which was good. My boyfriend had the jambalaya which he said was spicy and very tasty. Our guests enjoyed the chicken enchilada stack and a chicken rice bowl. The yard house was a hit.
I'm sure well be back here many more times, hopefully will continue to be impressed.

Fine, I'm a fan...this place is growing on me...just realllllly slowly.
I know that this place specializes in having a shit load of beers on tap--cool. What I didn't expect is the great tasting food. If you try anything here you have to get the stacked enchiladas. They're not your regular greasy enchiladas that are served to you in a hurry, they're a culinary enchilada masterpiece! I can't even convey how good they are.
And the pizza's, wtf. I had the pepperoni with mushroom and I don't know what happened, I just really liked it. The crust was soft, moist, and tasty, the cheese was delicious, not greasy at all, ah just the right combination.
Drinkk: I got some cider beer--it was good, ciderish...haha
definitely come during happy hour though, you'll get more for what you pay for. also, parking is a PAIN! UGH you have to validate??? C'mon it's long beach!! That's my only complaint.

Well, to start off, there food is pretty good, as well as pretty consistent, since they are a chain. Thats a plus.
Drinks wise, this locale actually has 250 beers on tap on most occasions, which is a definite plus. There drinks are pretty good as well.
Overall experience, and I have been here a bunch of times, is pretty good. We actually went today, and had there spicy tuna roll, and edema me. Both were really good. No complaints. Service was also very good, being that our group was 3 tables deep. View is really, top notch.
Overall: Thumbs up...enjoy and drink at this Yardhouse.
I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, if you haven't been able to tell yet. But, Yardhouse is a good staple for happy hour, lounging on the patio (the view is tremendous!), and best of all- its right behind my home. We come here on a pretty consistant basis.. probably because we are lazy and don't want to drive anywhere. Besides, its much safer to walk!
I don't think I've EVER been in here when its slow. Does Yardhouse even HAVE a slow time? Oh, wait, they have like 500 beers on tap... of course they don't have a slow time. They have an assortment of great hefs, Wyders Cider, and Framboise Raspberry Lambic- ALL ON TAP!
The food is so-so. Not too bad.. not the greatest ever. A lot of their appetizers have an asian flair- sushi rolls, edamame, potstickers... things of that nature. I like the calamari... and the firecracker wings are pretty good.. that sauce is great.
One thing about Yardhouse.. you better have that i.d. handy if you're planning on drinking... because you're gonna get carded- by EVERYONE. I get carded at least twice pretty much everytime I go in there. Could it be my youthful glow? I'm not sure.
Oh, and Yardhouse, get some air flowin through your back bar area! The flies are swarming and its getting pretty gross. I know gnats are a pain in the ass, but I sure as hell don't want them all up on my onion rings. Gross.

Yard House rocks my socks off! Especially this particular location....
Clean restaurant interior, with a deck that overlooks the Rainbow Harbor. We only ever go during Happy Hour, which is the bomb as far as happy hours go. Half price appetizers and drinks between 3-6pm and then again between 10-1AM. Our personal favorites are the Seared Ahi and Poke Stack, nearly sushi bar quality and they each only cost around $6 during Happy Hour. The Peperoni and Mushroom pizza is also very good, as well as the sliders and chicken strips. Great bar food!
The Beer is excellent as well. Always served at just the right temperature and with the right amount carbonation. Lots and lots to choose from, the menu breaks them down by region and type which helps you to really identfy what flavors you are drawn to. You can also chose to order tasters at $1 each. A great option if you're unsure.
The last best thing about this particular Yard House is that it has great service! The waiters are very fast, courteous and knowlegeable. If you ask them for recomendations, most of them will turn into Beer Geeks who know their shit.
Most recently we went to the Yard House in Downtown LA and we were EXTREMELY disappointed. So just keep in mind that not all Yard Houses are equal. This particular location is awesome though, and I recommend it highly (for Happy Hour).

I really can't say anything bad about the Yardhouse. Well, there is one thing, but I won't mention it until later.
First of all, the smoking patio has the best view. AND you can smoke, how nice is that? Anyway, parking across the street after six is free, and views like this with free parking, well. There's only one place in Seal Beach that does it for me and this just became #2.
The bar is stocked with probably the widest variety of beers I've ever seen, next to one of those German Brewhaus type places with all the crafty beers. You know I like my ales cunning. Anyway, I tried Blue Moon for the first time, and imo, it's a total woman's beer. Yes, I said it. Remind me next time not to opt for the super light, citrus-y pales. After looking through their "extensive" beer list I realized my favorite was still Heineken (shoot me, beer snobs, a real pale), and they have that and about a bajillion other varieties on draught.
Their mojitos are also pretty tasty.
The onion rings with parmesan-- good beer nosh. Thai style chicken pizza, also a pretty good addition.
We need to get to the view-- that view is outrageous. You can see the water, the lights, my goodness gracious if the Yard House didn't cost like $65 for two people to have a lighthearted snack and drink this would become my permanent place. As a matter of fact, I think it will, anyway. Whatever.
Oh-- and be specific if you want things boxed up. Apparently nodding yes to the fact that you want it boxed up means they're going to throw it away, which is what they did with half of our pizza :P
That's perfectly fine, though, as long as we just make ourselves clearer next time.
EL
Great selection of beers on tap. Wait service ok. A bit spendy, although not a bad spot to have a couple in good company.
Terrible place to eat (Spicy Tuna Tower was one star and the onion ring tower was one star) but a great place to have a variety of brews and their half yards!
This review is geared towards the bar and happy hour. Love coming here during happy hour. It's such a chill spot where me and my friends can order a couple of martinis (about $5) and beers (about $4-5) and some yummy appetizers. The servers are really nice and attentive. Must sit outside on the patio near the docks. What's better than kicking back with some friends, some alky and the smell of the ocean at night? Very chill.

Holy crab cake!
Visit the Yard House at The Pike for the outstanding beer selection, happy hour, and the Blue Crab Cake Hoagie. Their crab cake sammy is served with thick lumps of crab meat, fresh avocado slices, Swiss cheese, tomato, applewood smoked bacon, and a spicy Cajun aioli that rocks! I would go back just for the sandwich, it was that memorable.
Service was good and parking is validated with the meal.
Yard house gets points for the beer selection. This one site is located near the water. So you get a pretty decent view of the boats and at night, it's really a decent sight to see.
The food isn't very good though. I mean, I've had yard house food from many different places and I can't get behind it. It's just really run of the mill stuff.
Booze selection warrants this to get a three star ranking. The crowds aren't too crazy and while you do have peak times when this gets crazier than others, the happy hour times seem to be a pretty light crowd.
Parking is half way decent. I wouldn't say it's all that easy to park for cheap, but there's the option there. Stick to the outdoor seating as the indoor seating is just way too dark for my taste.
If you're in Long Beach and with someone who wouldn't trust going off the beaten trail for their drink, this is a good safety choice.

Wow - what a selection of beer... truly - they even had Lindeman's Lambic Framboise on draft - a true treat. Pizza and lettuce wraps were perfect at happy hour - two of us ate an appetizer each and 4 drafts each for less than 30 bucks.
Sit at the bar to avoid having to wait for a table - also, if the South door is open - go in that way to sit right at the bar.
Cheers!
The Yard House is always a good time, with delicious food and a great atmosphere. They've got a huge menu so there's something for everyone, a ton of brews on tap, and great outdoor seating with beautiful views. I've never had something here that I didn't like, and that's quite impressive considering the range of food on the menu.
Like many others have mentioned, the happy hour (3-6pm and 10-1am)has some great hook ups. Nearly all of the appetizers are half off and they have some good ones (thai lettuce wraps, seared ahi, onion ring tower). And the beer selection is stellar; I get a new one every time. Don't forget to bring in your parking ticket for validation and this place can get packed, so be prepared.
I love the Yardhouse. Their food and beer are always great, but I unfortunately have to give this location 1 star.
This is a beautiful location for a restaurant. We sat outside at night on the back patio and dined and were privileged to awesome views of the ocean and the lights. What we were not privileged to was good service.
At first our waitress was attentive... annoyingly so. Fast forward an hour and she disappeared for what seemed like 45 minutes. It was around midnight and we were practically falling asleep at the table. That sucked!

My coworkers took us here for dinner last week! I'd beeen here before and because we sat outside and only had alcohol and appetizers it was cool. But the night we wanted to enjoy an nice dinner and conversations which we couldn't do.
They stuck us by the back at the noisy part of the bar which majority of the tables were in the center of the bar. The rowdy people were being obnoxious at their table. But I guess you can't blame them because it's happy hour and it is a bar setting.
The food was was completely not worth the high prices on their menu. My coworker had the thai chicken salad.. absolutely gross.. THAI GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD
noodles tossed with spicy peanut vinaigrette and asian slaw (meaning cold skinny hard pasta like) with broccoli, carrots, bean sprouts, shredded green and red cabbage and cilantro. Wasn't tasty and it was so hard to chew on.
I had the BÉARNAISE SLIDERS
four mini burgers made foml Angus Beef served with fried onions, béarnaise sauce, fries and pickle. Didn't like the bearnaise sauce.. Their shoe strings fries were good. and the sliders were ok.
For a complimentary birthday dessert, they gave us CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE CAKE -mini serving with vanilla ice cream, served warm.
That was the most delicious thing the entire night,
We also ordered the MACADAMIA NUT CHEESECAKE on caramel and raspberry sauces with whipped cream. Holly Crap!! Sweet as hell that you couldn't even swallow the cake!
Overall, if you like the crowd, the happy hours, the noise, the appetizers, the beers, Perfect place to be. But if you want to sit down to have a decent meal with good food and good conversations, ... go somewhere else, PLEASE!
The food is Not that good. I think they are so overpriced! so therefore, 2 stars is more then enough for them.. (and don't forget you got to pay for parking)

Yard House is amazing. It may be too crowded and loud ALL the time but I love coming here for Happy Hour. The service is pretty good, and there's a huge bar smack in the middle of the place which gives me entertainment because i like watching the bartenders make yummy looking drinks. I don't/can't drink since i'm only 18 but the drinks are so tempting!
The calamari here is soooo GOOD. It's fresh and crunchy and the sauces are good too.
From what I've heard, the onion ring tower has gotten smaller since the rings used to be bigger. Anyway, it tastes okay. I think I would rather have onion rings from Jack in the Box.
The chicken nachos... oh lord. TOO much cheese and not enough guacamole but it is HUGE. Enough to share among 5 people.
The Fire cracker wings were good, there was a decent amount of meat on the wings and it WAS spicy but then again, i'm not a fan of spicy stuff so I think EVERYTHING is spicy. But I think the meat is kind of too dry for my liking.
Blue crab cakes... aren't worth it. It didn't taste like crab, more like... fish and other random stuff they put into it. There was four of them and 5 of us, no one finished the crab cakes. AND guess what?! They weren't even blue. :[
The spinach cheese dip was pretty good. I liked the crispy flat bread. But it was too cheesy and I got really tired/sick of it in the end.
The Spicy Thai Chicken is a MUST TRY. The chicken gets pretty spicy after a while, it IS called Spicy thai chicken for a reason. I always order that when I come, I don't know why i'm so addicted to it. It comes out to be about $5 for a whole pizza during Happy Hour.
The view is really nice. I went during the afternoon not at night so I don't know how it is at night but it's a nice place for a date. During Happy Hour one time, I ordered the onion rings, calamari, spicy thai chicken pizza and it came out to be about $17. Not bad at all.
A friend of mine and I recently hosted a bridal shower for a dear friend and it was such a hit! The staff was entirely accommodating and our coordinator Meghan was just nothing short of amazing. The Harbor Room is a great place for large parties and you have the freedom to spruce the place up to your theme.
The menu options were great as we were able to have a set menu and cater to a vegetarian party. So I give that a TWO THUMBS up!
I definitely recommend the following either as group entree or an an individual item:
Walnut Pear Salad
Lettuce Wraps with Shiitake Mushrooms & Tofu
Chicken Enchilada Stack
Orange Peel Chicken
We didn't opt for their in-house dessert but they are pretty lenient on that aspect.
All in all, I can say that was one of the best experiences I had at Yard House.
Oh! I am sure everyone knows but they also validate parking!
Had dinner here while traveling on business to the area and enjoyed it. The food was pretty good. I had the crab cake hoagie which was something I've never seen anywhere else and was pretty tasty.
The beer list here is ridiculous in a good way. I've never seen such a wide variety of beers on tap. Just looking at the taps surrounding the bar is a sight to see.
There is also a nice outdoor patio to sit and enjoy the view of the water.
Located in Shoreline Village, the Yard House is huge. Inside, you have a loud sports bar atmosphere. Outside, you have a patio/dock next to the water. It can be loud outside as well.
The menu is huge with a wide variety--pizza, sandwiches, pastas, seafood, steaks, Asian dishes, etc. (kind of like The Cheesecake Factory). Though wide variety usually just means a large selection of mediocre food. For my entree, I went with the fish and chips. I wouldn't get it again. It was not that good. The fish was kind of tasteless. The verdict around the table was sub-par.
On a previous visit, I remember trying a few of the appetizers, and it was a mix bag. That being said, they do have many different selections in the appetizers section. Couple that with their large selection of beer, and this may not be a bad place to do a happy hour.
The service was not that good (and they forgot about us for long periods of time); however, the place was very busy.

i love their food and beer, but they piss me off too much with their sloppy service. im not really a person who cares about service at a restaurant. i have been a waitress, and trust me i was sloppy enough to be pretty sympathetic when a server forgets something or takes too long to take your order. the yardhouse, however, is out of control.
my boyfriend and i order to go here every couple months because the pear and walnut salad (no nuts please) and the spicy tuna roll are both so good it makes me mad. we used to get their mac n cheese squared but its been lackluster recently. however, i cant get him to actually eat at the restaurant or even go in to pick up the food because they even take a long time to ring up a pick up order.
too bad, because it would definitely be good place to hang out and drink on a nice day.

The only reason, and a damn good one, to come here is for the late night happy hour. I can't tell you how many times we have roamed all over Long Beach trying to find a sit-down restaurant that is 1) open late 2) GOOD and 3) Not The Shorehouse Cafe or Dennys. It is so difficult to find good late night eats in the LBC -- if you are looking for grub in all the wrong places.
The Yard House is the kind of restaurant where you are guaranteed to be surrounded by loud, rowdy and drunken folk. Families like to frequent the Yard House, too. Sometimes, you'll be seated by a group of college kids yappin' about that one club and how "toddaly smashed" they got. Other times, you'll be seated in a booth -- away from all the nonsense. A little privacy, peace and quiet...if only in your imagination.
The menu has some great items that will certainly pique (or PRICK or DEXT, which is virtually that same thing) your interest. Try the Coconut Shrimp, the Poke Salad, the Spinach Dip, the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, the Buffalo Wings (Hot or Jerked), the Seared Albacore, the Spicy Tuna California Roll...
Have a go at their beers; Fat Tire, Blue Moon, Heff, Coors, Bud, Stella and an array of specialty brews that will have you singing along to Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer."
Prices are moderate and service is decent (we happened to have a bitchy waitress who warmed up to us as the night progressed) -- so, give it a try and make your hour a really happy one, Champ.
