Yankee Spirt has it all!!
I don't think I've ever seen or been into a liquor store this big. Plenty of safe secure parking.
I walked in here to buy some cocktail making ingredients, and was taken back buy the size of the store. This place has it all.
Wines, beers, liquor, all your needs in one stop.
When I say beer they have an enormous selection an entire beer department. They have tons of warm beer and a ton of cold beer. Most of the craft is warm where the big beer names are kept cold. The wine selection is insane. The liquor they have is mind blowing. I've never heard of some of the brands. If you've been looking for something specific come here I'm sure it's here.
I only came for a few things, but spent a bit of time walking around checking out different types bottles. This is a very interesting place. I will definitely visit again and spend more time walking around in amazement of all the varieties they have in stock.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mike C.San Francisco, CA02Jun 19, 2023
We had an unsatisfactory experience with the wine team at the Sturbridge store when trying to register for a wine tasting. The communication wasn't clear at all and we received a huffy response from the wine team rep when we called, she even suggested we go elsewhere. I called back and complained because we've been going there for many years but I never received a response about the outcome of my situation. Too bad things have changed to the point they don't care about certain customers anymore. We'll be taking our business elsewhere.

First of all ... let me say if anything was going to make a 3-star vs. 4-star review, it would be the prices. Everything here is within $3-5 more expensive than other liquor stores. Beer, wine or bottles, expect to pay 10-20% more than other stores in the area. Almost without exception. I've never found something here which was cheaper than I've seen elsewhere.
Having said that, the selection here is pretty phenomenal. It's huge ... the size of a football field and you'll pretty much find a good selection of anything you want here. Because it's located about amile from Treehouse and right near the Mass Pike entrance, which heads to 84 towards NYC, their beer selection is pretty much off the hook. They have some of the hardest to find beers ... some very obscure ones ... and a staff who is pretty knowledgable. Everytime I am in here, I see restaurant owners from MA to NYC picking out cases of beer in the way that a sommelier would pick out wines.
Speaking of wines, the selection changes often but you can find some pretty obscure bottles ... and highly rated bottles which have sold out elsewhere ... I purchased an impossible to find 100 point selection here that other stores laughed at me when I asked about availability. I paid $15 more than their prices but they sold out immediately and 4 months later, I found it here.
The staff here can be hit or miss when it comes to recommendations. I get the vibe they are inclined to 'push' certain brands that aren't always the best value. However, occasionally they'll put me on to a great beer I wouldn't normally have tried.
The parking is ample but the entrance and exit is hard to find and you'll have to exit and U-Turn to get to the Mass Pike or 84. It's always worth a stop when I am passing the exit on my way to NYC. If you don't mind paying extra for more selection, you'll do okay here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Robert R.PA, PA211644Dec 5, 2021
What a waste of time! I made a special trip to purchase a very expensive single malt scotch whiskey as a gift ($150.)
After asking for assistance twice and waiting for anyone to over ten minutes, no one could be bothered to open the display case.
Clearly they don't need my business or money.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 25, 2017
As a New Yorker, let me tell you how refreshing it is to be able to go into one store for beer, wine, and spirits. Here, in the Empire State, it's okay to sell wine and spirits under the same roof, but beer has to be its own thing.
Don't ask me to explain. I'm moved to NY from California. It makes no sense to me.
Today was my first visit to Yankee Spirits, and I left impressed. The beer selection is fantastic. The spirits section is impressive. Did they have all of the esoteric things I was looking for? No. Or at least, if they did, I didn't find them. Did they have notably lower prices? Not on my benchmark brands.
But that's okay. Perhaps booze is marked up much more in Connecticut than it is in New York. I couldn't tell you for sure.
The bottom line is that this is a really great store, with informative staff, and a lot of top notch products that you would be hard pressed to find. I walked out with a basket full of goods that I had never seen anywhere before, and I'm tickled to crack into them.
Of course, the down side is that should I fall in love with any of these brands, I'll have to make the drive to Sturbridge to buy them again. On the other hand, that means I would be driving down to Sturbridge for another visit to Yankee Spirits.
Next time, I'll make sure to give the wine aisles the attention they deserve.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Henry P.West Bridgewater, MA51626299Jul 13, 2019
Good.... no, not good, GREAT... a warehouse of libation!
If you like, and or read my review of Friendly Discount Liquors in Northbridge, man -o- man you'll really like Yankee. Literally a warehouse.
Now, the selection is closely related to that of Friendly discount, or Julio's in Westborough, but the scale is really out there. Instead of a case of Fullers Ale... Yankee will have a pallet.
Really good selection of beers, ales, hard liquor and a ton of wine.
Plenty of parking and a wicked friendly staff that will help you out.
Good take, and bring your wallet!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 20, 2016
Wow. Knocked it out of the park with this liquor store adventure.
Mari K. alerted us to an upcoming wine tasting + yellow dot sale. This scenario is key to making this trek worth it. The wine tasting had 6 distinct tables with about 6 wines each. The people doing the pours were super knowledgable, not pushy, and not pretentious. (There's a delicate balance there!)
The yellow dot sale was also a bonus. Two times a year, they do a mega discount (20%) on many of their great wines with a case or more. They have a great range of wines within every region and varietal, so this type of purchase is easy to do.
Lastly, their beer selection is out of this world. Prices are comparable to CT, but the variety they have is incredible. And the vast majority of the beers can be purchased as singles (with a 10% mark-up of the 1/6 of a six-pack price). This is an excellent way to try lots of intriguing beers.
Definitely worth the visit!Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jul 27, 2015
I always like stopping here as their beer selection is very large and I often find things here that are unavailable at Table and Vine in West Springfield and vice versa for that matter. I also like the staff's hand written comments about their wines, I have not only found them helpful in choosing a wine but very accurate in their analysis leading me to try wines I might not of otherwise. Great store wonderful selection of wine, beer and spirits always worth a stop when you are in the area or make it a destination stop as I do frequently.
