The PERFECT spot to savor that slice from Artichoke and wash it down with a brew in the middle of the afternoon. This Irish pub seems like it'd be a down and dirty college bar once the sun goes down, and with the $15 all you can drink special from 10pm - 1am on Wednesdays, I'm sure it's great for any and all drinkers on a budget (special applies to Bud, Bud Light, Red something, and well drinks).
As for myself, I'll stick to the afternoon hours where it's mostly regulars, sipping on a pint while enjoying a take-in lunch in the company of a friendly bartender.
Beers on tap include Sam Adams, Bud, Bud Light, Sierra Nevada, Yuengling, and Guinness.

I will admit..I'm a fan. Only thing I would wish differently is if they offered complimentary helicopter pickup from wherever you are in the city. Ok so thats not happening. Still a pretty cool place in my books. I'm a HUGE fan of having Foosball AND Erotic Photohunt under the same roof...I love this place because no matter who you are with or how you are dressed you feel welcome. Always a good time here. Cheap beer served in pitchers and lots of games/music to keep you entertained. Overall its not as busy as some places are for a weekend which makes it that much better.
Bottom Line: For people who like dives this is a great place. Not usually that busy..Pool, Arcade Games, Cheap Beer, Foosball, PhotoHunt, NYU students and Internet for the nerds. What I'm trying to say is there is something for everyone. Cool atmosphere.

If anyone tries to convince you this is a nice place, theyre lying. Now, it is a good bar bar. Meaning lots of guys and NYU girls, 3 dart boards, a pictuer booth (tons of fun) a pol table, juke box, dirty smelly bathrooms, but cheap pitchers and cheaper pints. They serve well after their last call and let you stay way after 4.

It gets crowded around 12 am or 1 am. Foosball is awesome and they also have erotic photo hunt. The music is fun and it makes you feel like shakin' it. From the other reviewers, looks like there are more fun games in the back. I didn't make it that far in, we got sucked into a crazy foosball tournament.

Good neighborhood bar. Great for darts, pool and a pretty standard but tricky deer hunting game. A lot of fun and not so great memories here---but always a staple.
Here is the situation: in the back they have a large room with a deer hunting video game (why do so many bars have them now? I never see anyone playing) and three darts boards. 3 DART BOARDS! Its great.
If you wanna have a dance party, this isn't the place. If you want 300 beers on tap, this isn't the place.
But if you wanna plug down some beers while playing some darts or foosball or if you are the one person in NYC that plays that deer hunting game, get over here. Its great.

Straight up bar. Pitchers, plastic cups, pool table. It is what it is, you got a problem wit dat.
Wheelchair access: Access is good, but I forgot to check the bathroom. I'll have to go back, drink more and update.

I always walk by this place, but I never went in before.
Sadly, I should have kept it that way. The place was packed, the music sucked, and the beer wasn't all that cheap. There was also a high percentage of NYU kids..::cringe::

Jukebox? Check.
Old pool table? Check.
Cheap pitchers? Check.
East Village? Check.
Very NYU-bar-ish. Down to the plastic cups. Except I think I am a little too old to drink from plastic cups.

For that ridiculous beer and shot special move.
I don't know if I would call this an Irish bar, or even a bar at this point more like a run down building with a pool table and darts in the back and booze in the front...(I guess that is however a "bar" in the classical sense).
Anyways upon entering you will see a foosball table to the right, and an area to sit...look up at the bar and you will see the devil staring you in the face...or rather a poster of what the devil looks like. The poster dons the words "Tall boy PBR and shot of Whiskey $6" this is what we go out for gentleman.
Saunter up to the bar and order about 5 of these specials and all those little NYU girls drinking on their older sister's fake ID will look all the hotter. Just keep in mind that 5 of the specials does not cure the std's you will inevitably transmit from this breed of tramp...sadly.
Slam your specials down or grab a cheap pitcher, play pool, talk trash, play darts, talk trash, play foosball, talk trash...drink whiskey...fight....go home with girl...Now that is what I call a night.
So chug your highclass PBR and drink that whiskey, catch a painted pony let the spinning wheel spin. Grab an NYU girl, dance a bit, and have a all out classy (maybe trashy) night...but please black out responsibly.

For starters, I liked the old Finnerty's better. Period. It was more divey, and less slick than the current one. Still, Finnerty's 2.0 has more space which is appreciated, and if you're looking for a better college crowd than Josie Woods (if you're in the NYU area) go here. Its the best example of it: brosephs, booze, enough women, loud top 40, pool, darts, an acute suburban sense, some tvs, and energy. And its cheap. Very cheap. The kind of place to get shitfaced during the day.....and stay to get more shitfaced during the eve.

like a cartoon sound effect. "wamp.... waaaaaaaaaamp!"
the pitcher of beer was crazy cheap and the 4 of us shared it to the last drop. the best part about Finnerty's was their interactive juke box. Irene and i had a ball sifting through albums trying to find the right song. from "i'm only happy when it rains" to "machinehead"... that was the highlight of our night. lol.
it's not clean, but not dirty. the service is slow, but so is the customer traffic. great A/C (it was freezin' our ta-ta's off!) and stinky bathroom... perfect for NYUers a like. yay for them. is this a "dive bar"? i still don't know how to tell the difference. someone edumacate me!

This place, since it's moved, is not what it was once was. By that I mean it's not infested with NYU students every night to the point where it's waaay to crowded to enjoy. While it still draws heavily from the NYU crowd... it's a bigger bar now, with a few more tables, more bar space, a pool table and three dart boards. It's much nicer.
A 7 dollar pitcher is fantastic.
Real quick, I'd like to point out that the address listed here isn't right. This Finnerty's, which is the only one I know of, is on 2nd Ave. between 13th and 14th. The drink prices, ALL DAY, are ridiculous. And now they have flat screen TV's, too. At first, I was worried that this could mean higher prices and a clientele to match, but it's the exact same place.

It's only fitting that this is my 100th Review. Hands down, my absolute favorite bar in the NYC. And it's not because it's sparkly great, and fabulous...well, it is in my mind...but everyone has a special place in their heart for their own "Cheers" bar. This is mine.
Newly, re-opened after forced to close their 3rd ave. location (condominiums...boooo!)--they have taken over what used to be Second Nature. And Finnerty's-loyals alike will be happy to know there was no "selling-out" in the process. Instead of lounges, they have re-installed the "Finnerty's tables" in their place (tall, wooden, comfortably/soberly seats 4).
New additions include a lovely little flat screen above the middle of the bar broadcasting whatever appropriate sports of the hour that they choose. Also, there's now a fooseball table in the front window (hours of fun). AND! For all you dart-players/competitors they now have three dart boards in the backroom. I think I remember seeing a pool table (but things there are always fuzzy). Also, there's an alleged photo booth around the place too.
Same old good stuff includes the $2 pints and the $7 pitchers--gotta love it. Be nice to your bartenders--tip them well. Love the bouncers, they're good people. And enjoy the humor that comes with the surplus of college students and too-old regulars (I'm about to fall into this category soon).
Now starting on Wednesday nights, $15 9-12 all you can drink on Bud, Bud Light, and Red Wolf. It just gets better and better! Three thumbs up!
