The service was very nice - the banchan (kimchee, cucumbers) were refilled, and the waitress was very sweet and polite. I had the dumplings and the chicken noodle soup - the dumplings were pretty good but the chicken noodle soup was outstanding. Try it out - its worth the drive many times over

This Korean Noodle restaurant in Beltsville is very yummy.  I especially like the dumplings (mandu) and chicken noodle soup.  Actually, I think it is the best chicken noodle soup I've ever had.  Also, the Panchan (kimchee, etc.) is awesome.

I've only been here for dinner and it's not been too crowded but I hear it gets very busy during the weekday lunch hour.

Rumor (and a review from Washingtonian magazine) also has it that they make a mean fried chicken but it takes about 20 minutes so you have to call ahead or wait a while.

Service is friendly too - highly recommended.

Myoung Dong is located between the Costco and MVA on Rte. 1 and behind the CVS. The last I checked, the only sign they had out front was "Oriental Noodle." It sits on a little strip of mostly hole-in-the-wall restaurants so there's always plenty of parking out front.

Food - As the name outside suggests, their noodles are the main dishes here. The Kal gook soo (literally translated: knife noodles) is good in both the chicken and clam broths. My wife loves seafood, so she prefers the clam while I think that the chicken has better presentation. Unlike Da Rae Won, which is just down the street, they do not beat the living snot out of their noodles, so you don't hear incessant banging during your meal. You are served 3 banchans: kimchi, spicy cucumber, and radish fermented in sweet vinegar, the latter goes really well with the fried chicken.

Speaking of the fried chicken, I know it was well reviewed but I didn't think it was all that. It takes 20 minutes and I found it to be dry and cut up in such a way that you can't really distinguish what part of the chicken you are eating. It almost reminds me of the McD's chicken nuggets when they used to have both white and dark meat. This may prove to be a problem for some since you may think you are biting into a thigh but you end up biting into bone or the chicken neck. It's served with a mix of what looks like salt, black pepper, and red pepper for dipping but you mostly taste the salt. I found the white meat so dry that I had to eat a piece of radish with each bite. And just like the old McD's nuggets, I wish they would serve ALL dark meat.

Service - Very friendly and since the restaurant is open, it's easy to make eye contact to request more radish to help down your dry chicken.

Dishes I would recommend:
Kal Gook Soo - both clam and chicken. Roughly $8.95
Jjam Pong
Bibim Naeng Myung - Not as good as Yett Gol but a LOT cheaper + more meat
Yook Gae Jang
Chicken Bulgogi

Don't even go there:
Fried Chicken - unless you like dry, nondescript chicken
Bulgogi - Dry
Bibim Bap - Big fat Meeh
