The techno groove bouncing off the walls in this hotel was bizarre in every way, and became humorous after a while. Somewhere, there's security footage of me dancing my tail off on many elevator rides.

The lobby smells like an old grandma. Why? I'm not sure. And for some reason, there was always a broken old car (different every time) parked out front by the garage. Don't know why.

We had a great view of trees. I could here water trickling in some sort of body of water outside. I think it was a moat.

Im not that familiar with Orange County, so I didnt realize how close together the surrounding areas were. If I had known, I wouldn't have stayed here. Originally, I tried to stay at the Westin, but they were fully booked. I went with my mother, and they only gave us a room with one bed. I wasnt happy about this, but since they were fully booked as well and we made our reservation through Travelocity, there wasnt anything they could do. I've stayed in much nicer hotels. The coffee maker was about 100 years old, the mini fridge smelled like fish, and nothing at all about the room was even close to being modern. No valet parking is annoying.

Dont stay here.

After being on the road for almost two hours, I needed a stiff drink and a snack before the show I saw at the Orange County Performing Arts Center last night.

I got a recommendation to try the bar at the Wyndham. We didn't have much time but the bartender promised us he'd push our order through. We got the fried seafood platter which came with two coconut shrimp, two oysters Rockefeller, two bacon wrapped scallops and a mess of calamari. The platter was $23.

The platter is on the regular menu from their restaurant, Terranova but they also have a bar menu. The lamb lollipops looked good. And I was interested in the various salads. But we went with the fried stuff thinking it'd be fast.

The bacon-wrapped scallops were the best. Great bacon flavor and very tender scallops. I was actually surprised it wasnt over cooked. The calamari was okay. The oysters and shrimp weren't bad though. The preferred dipping sauce was the cocktail sauce. The lemon one was supposed to be "sweet and sour," I suppose.

Their martinis are named after various fashion houses. I got the Christian Dior which was essentially a pom martini ($10). My coworker had ordered a chocolate martini but they didn't have all the ingredients to make it so the guy just made her a Christian Dior as well. Five stars for those drinks. Woah, I never get buzzed off of one drink but this one did the trick. I guess my prayers for a stiff drink were answered! Unfortunately, it took a long time to get it so I didn't have time for another. Too bad because I would have watched the ballet in a much more relaxed state!

The bar is rather small with about 6 tables and some seats around the bar. There's a flat screen playing something sporty. The guys at the bar were eyeballing us more than the screen though. And when we wanted the check, the bartender didn't see us right away so the bellhops at registration were encouraging us to throw something at him. Ha!

Restrooms are just past registration and there's only one stall for the ladies room. It looked like a hotel bathroom sink. They seriously need to update the furnishings. Even "housekeeping" knocked on the door to give me that true hotel experience. I almost asked for extra towels.

I'd definitely come back here for drinks and snacks rather than settling for what I can get at OCPAC or SCR. It's slightly closer walking here than trekking across the road to the mall.

My best cousin found this place on her mad search for a wedding venue near home. It is a little secluded, but in a great area of Orange County. Very close to South Coast Plaza and the Performing Arts Center, the Wyndham is a cozy and simple place to have a wedding reception.

We had 150 guests, and the room was absolutely perfect for a smaller sized wedding from 150-200 guests. When I say small, I mean Asian small. [Normal size for us is about 300-350 guests]

The ballroom is really classy. The walls and the curtains were neutral colored with matching curtains. The tables were nicely arranged and the service was mostly on point. Although the room was light, the wedding had darker colors. It went very well with the room and it didn't make everything too dark.

The food, however, was not so great. We started off with salad and that was fine. But the entree was steak and salmon with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I was not a fan of the steak AT ALL. It was dry and very tough. The salmon was better, but still not very flaky.

The after dinner desserts were strawberries and coffee/decaf/tea. That was very helpful, since the bar was right next to it, and we were visiting that station a little too often!!!

The bar was fun. They had it going all night long and there was shots of  vodka cranberry. They didn't have any Malibu pineapple, which was what i wanted, but the bartender was very direct. [not a person you ask to mix you something fun]. Even so, he had enough hard alcohol to last the night behind him, and he was fast! We had a toast of 20 shots at once and he brought that out in less than 5 minutes... with chasers!

Lots of fun. Good times. Good hotel to party in!

This hotel is okay.. Stayed there this past weekend while attending and dj'ing at a friend's wedding. They had their ceromony there at the hotel, but had the reception somewhere else. Either way alot of our friends stayed at the hotel. So basically there were maybe 30 of us spread out all over the hotel.. majority was on my floor, so after the wedding, people were roaming from room to room.. and all thats another story in it's self! haha! ;-)

Okay, back to my review. When we first pulled up to the hotel, the appearence is nice. Nothing special. Thought there would be a valet, but Nope.. nothing. (point deduction) Then when we were getting our bags and equiptment out of the car, we had to load it on the cart ourselves.. Only one damn bell boy.. I was like what kind of operation are they running here.. .. so after we loaded up our stuff and checked in, here he comes, and offers to push the cart up to our room for us.. I just think they need more personel. How are you not going to have workers on the weekend?? Anyways, tipped his ass, and went into the room

The room itself was okay.. like I said before, nothing special. But then again we didn't pay for anything extra special either. But it served it's purpose. Nice pillows, sheets, the basic ammenities -tv, Ipod/iphone dock, balcony. Besides, we only used the hotel to store our stuff, and party up after the wedding! haha!! ..now if you wanna know the low-down on the after parties and room hoppin', I'll send you a private message! =)

Overall it's decent hotel... definately had better. service is kinda weak. they need to hire more help... prices and rates are not too bad. decor is nice. Elevators are good though. clean and fast.. guess thats it. anything else, I'll add later!

I heart orange county . . . i heart this new find . . .
I came to this hotel because my usual place was too much $$$
I chose it because they allow doggies.
What a true gem this place is.
In all my travels, this was the first place that actually catered to my doggy needs.  We were able to swim together, relax together, eat together . . . well you get the picture.
They even have a lovely lake with ducks . . .
someone was even getting married there and we could see it from our window. . .
my only discount was the room itself which was kind of dated.
otherwise, id give it 5 stars.
I will review the restaurant (great) as well.

I stayed here for a friend's wedding which was also held at the hotel. Not a bad hotel. I did notice that the wallpaper/paint in the bathroom was chipping. Rooms are very clean and the grounds are really pretty which I think they share with the Marriott? Also the rooms have balconies however some are actually patios with tables while others are only standing room.
My only gripe is that room service ended at midnight and I arrived at that time due to a late flight. I didn't eat dinner yet and had to drive around looking for food.

A nice standard hotel, like all the rest in Orange County.   My girlfriend and I decided to take a little break and took a couple days off to check out South Coast Plaza, which I haven't been to in over ten years!

This hotel has a nice atrium-like lobby, a small swimming pool, and a man-made lake.  We had a nice room that faced the lake.  Very comfortable ergonomic chair, small two foot balcony, nice size.  The bed was comfortable and the price was reasonable.  They didn't charge us for parking, and we got $25 coupons for eateries nearby.  We had a nice shopping break from it all!  And to think, Orange County, well, maybe again in 10 years!

This is a very nice, clean, and modern mid-level hotel within walking distance of the South Coast Plaza megamall and the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

The Wyndham has nice in-room touches, such as an iPod clock/radio, so you can listen to or wake up to your own tunes or podcasts and a magnifying mirror in the bathroom (handy for putting in one's contacts or applying eye makeup). And if you're a member of Wyndham's member rewards program, you get free Internet access and a welcome drink and snack.

There is no business center, though, so if you didn't bring your laptop, you have to pay $3 every 15 minutes at the small computer kiosk near the elevator and vending machine selling everything from iPod speakers to aspirin to check your email.

My room on the 6th floor overlooked a quiet man-made lake and corporate but tastefully-designed garden. The king-size bed was ultra-comfortable, and I liked the room lay-out. Even though it was just one room, the lines between the sleeping (bed) and lounging/working areas (sofa/coffeetable/desk) were clearly delineated.

The bathroom had nice thick, fluffy white towels. It was also supposed to sport a bathrobe, though that was missing. The lighting in the bathroom was also good - not too bright nor too dark, and there was plenty of counterspace for one's toiletries.

The front desk clerks were friendly and check-in was quick. They even accommodated a late check-out of 2 p.m., not the usual late check-out time of 1 p.m.  I didn't try the gym (I was running the Surf City Marathon the next morning, so I had to rest up) nor the restaurant or room service, so I can't comment on that.

So whlie I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay, why don't I give the Wyndham five stars? Because the Wyndham, bless its money-making little heart, slams you on parking. There is absolutely no street parking, so one has to park one's car in the Wyndham parking garage - to a tune of $14/day for self-parking or $17/day for valet-parking. Ouch.

Despite that, I would definitely stay at the Wyndham again. I'll likely run the Surf City Marathon next year, and may choose this hotel even though it's 10-15 minutes away from Huntington Beach, where the race begins and ends.

I stayed here for my sister's graduation June 18th. Loved their front desk because I drove in earlier than expected from SF - called them and they arranged for me to check in early and accommodated my request for a double bed. They even had doggie biscuits for my Sammy! During my 2 day stay, they were very quick to respond to my requests for more bath towels and toiletries. They even gave us a doggie magazine on our second day!

The front desk was even more friendly when I called back to book for July 4th weekend! I loved their jacuzzi the first time around and since I didn't have enough time June 18th, I'm coming back! Oooh...and their bed and pillows...much better than some 5 star places...

This review is for the on-site restaurant Terra Nova. I went on a Friday and for the season they are offering a pasta bar- quite delicious! It is presented in buffet style and they have chefs there to custom make your pasta order. There  is also a salad bar and an anti-pasta bar. If you need a good lunch spot, I would recommend here. Also, on Fridays they have a two for one deal, so snag yourself a coupon...no reservations required

The common areas are all very nice with Starbucks-like music playing all the time.  We stayed over the Christmas holidays and it was nice a quiet.  They even upgraded us to a suite which was great since we were traveling with our 20 month old.  The suite was very nice with a flat screen in the living area.  There was a microwave and a mini-fridge too which were definitely pluses since we were traveling with a toddler.  The bathroom really needed updating and twice when I was taking a shower, I needed to wait a good 5-10 minutes before the water heated up.  It's nice that it is down the street from South Coast plaza so we did check out the mall.  I didn't like that it was $15 a night for parking.  I think that's a rip off, but there isn't really much street parking nearby since it's a commercial area.  At least when we were there, it didn't seem like anyone checked the garage to see who had the parking placard and who did not, so maybe you can get away with not paying.  Who knows?
