For a Wyndham chain, this must be the lowest of the low-end.

Location is convenient though.  Right off the 91which is off the 5, bordering Anaheim.  The hotel is tucked away behind the 2 J's Sports bar and sandwiched between an apartment complex and 91.  If you cruise 2.5 miles south on Harbor you'll end up at the doorsteps of the Happiest Place on Earth (aka Disneyland).

Besides the famed Wyndham name, the centralized location and a good-size heated lap pool, the rest was downhill.

I should have taken heed of all the signals of a potential bad experience upon arrival.  When I entered the lobby area, it reminded me of Tony Montana's palatial residence in the movie Scarface.

The decor throughout is so cheezy ghetto.  I think whoever decorated the place was trying to project a classy fantasy feeling, but failed miserably.  The interior just doesn't go with the regular architectural exterior design. Maybe they hired the same person who designed Fantasyland.

As you walk through the hotel, you'll find a mish-mash of faux Greco-Roman naked scultures, Oriental horses, Egyptian statues, water fountains mixed in with mirrored tiles and plastic moldings.  I'm no black belt in the area of interior design, but my eyes felt painful just looking at the furnishings in the lobby and conference areas.  Money without the taste and very difficult to appreciate indeed.

I could almost sense the tension of the security man behind the desk, reaching for his pistola when I first walked into the lobby.  He had that 'ready-to-draw' squint like Clint Eastwood in a spaghetti western.  He was just doing his job.  The whole time, I also felt like I'm being watched via hidden CCTV.

The front desk personnel had piercings on her face and an attitude.  It took me awhile before I understood the directions to my room.  I have nothing against self-expression, but I always have a problem with BAD ATTITUDE especially with people in the service and hospitality industry.

For the record, I stayed 3 nights and housekeeping didn't replenish the soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion after the first night.  I had to beg for more.

I think this hotel specializes in short term 'in-n-out Dizzyland' tourists, one nighter business types and one-day conventioneers.  If you like a more pleasant long term, easy-going, carefree stay without the eye sores, otherwise book with caution.
