I'm always on the lookout for good barbecue.
So HAPPY we had a chance to try Wubba's. I have to admit it's the best barbecue I've had in many many years (since Brother-in-Law's BBQ in SF closed). The meats were tender, packed with flavor, and the sauce was perfect. All the side dishes were delish -- especially the creole rice. The cheesy corn was kind of weird, but others liked it.
Food portions are more than abundant, making the prices a great deal. Don't miss their house-made sausage -- it's just the right spiciness, and the ideal texture. I am very very picky about sausage (and actually don't even like most of them), but this was a winner. Also tried the pulled pork and bbq beef -- both were lean and tasty. We were all way too full for dessert, but their house-made pies sounded wonderful.
It's a very casual setting, just right for the food. Our appetizers were delayed for quite a while, so the manager told the waitress to comp them for us. How nice! Our waitress was outstanding. So friendly and helpful. I like it when they recommend menu items, or let us know "hey, that other dish you ordered already comes with those, so perhaps try another side dish."
Make reservations if you're planning on Friday or Saturday night -- it can be kinda crowded.Listed in: Going Further Afield -- Road…

Came here last weekend, and now I only wish it was closer to home. So good!
We shared the combination plate, with pulled pork, beef, and sausage. The meat was flavorful but not too saucy, and best of all it was lean. No nasty chunks of fat lurking. The sausage was spicy, and fresh. Others in our party had the ribs, and said that they were delicious, the meat fell right off the bone. The portions were huge, the combination plate for two had more than enough for lunch the next day, too.
The appetizer platter was huge--more than enough for our party of seven. It came with chicken wings, cheese curds, stuffed mushrooms, onion sticks, and okra (all fried).
Our orders took a while to come out, but once they arrived it was worth the wait, and the waitress was apologetic.
The restaurant itself was a little on the loud side, and super casual. Lots of tables of families. A good place for groups, with easy parking. -

Had lunch on a friends recommendation. I had the wet wubba with potato salad. Would definitely get it again. Pork & beef was tender & flavorful. Potato salad was yummy but a little too much mayo for my taste.
My husband had the ribs. They had excellent flavor but a little dry. Had baked beans & seasoned fries as the sides. Beans were excellent with a smoky flavor. Fries were hot & seasoned well.
Cashier honored yelp discount when mentioned. Will definitely eat here again. -

Gayle and I, along with my Son and her Nephew recently walked over here from the Days Inn for Dinner. And days later, the Kid seems using his bottle of Wubba's BBQ Sauce on a lot of his food.
Wubba's BBQ Shack is comfortable, friendly, and local. On the Monday evening we arrived, it wasn't too crowded and the customers were mainly couples (young through older). My only quibble was that for BBQ, the food was long in coming out.
The menu says that their BBQ is Kansas City style, although I've forgotten what that means in terms of comparing it to other regional preferences. In any event, the food was very good. The Nephew and I had the BBQ Tri-Tip, the Kid had the Wet Wubba, and Gayle went "whole hog" for the Tri-Tip and Rib Combo. We also ordered various side ranging from baked beans to fries that accented our meal nicely. Wubba's was a very nice find and definitely worth a return trip. -

Stopped in while staying in Klammoth Falls. The reviews were great so we thought we would give it a shot.
Very pleasantly surprised. The food and the service was excellent. We got the family combo of two meats (BBQ chicken and baby back ribs) with hush puppies and two sides (macaroni salad and baked potato) and all of it was excellent. This has to be one of Klammath's better restaurants. Actually, it was the best "quick pick" restaurant we've eaten at since leaving Las Vegas. Great vibe and really good food all around. -

I was visiting Klamath Falls and found this place via Yelp. We went to it and it was packed but the service was fast and we only had to wait 10 minutes. We ordered the tri tip, pulled pork, garlic potatoes, and beans. It was alll REALLLLLLLLLLLY good!!!

Best:
- bbq beef. I haven't had beef like this - it was shredded, very tender, and at the same time, crispy at the edges. I liked it best with some bbq sauce from the table added to it.
- seasoned fries. nothing unusual, but very nicely done. I was confused that there was no ketchup on the table, and it instead came as a "sauce" option with the fries.
Good:
- baby back ribs. Very tasty, quite tender, nicely sauced.
- chicken. Pretty standard.
Fine but probably wouldn't have again:
- fried okra. They have a good fryer, but okra's still a little on the slimy side for me. The seasoning is the same as on the fries. A good dish, just not for me.
- onion straws. Really thin slivers on onion that were a little too salty and overly seasoned for me, and yet still disturbingly addicting.
- green beans with bacon. I think I like plain green beans more - this was a little greasy, although I don't think that's a real complaint for a dish like this.
We ordered the family platter for two, and there was EASILY enough for four people. Overall, it's pretty over the top, but a great place, very friendly service, near constant drink refills, corrected a mistake on the receipt very quickly and without a problem, stayed open as people finished their meals after 9 - great establishment. -

Traveling companions and I spent the earlier part of the day at Crater Lake and were trying to decide on where to eat. Wubba's won.
First off, our server (who was heading off to her first job, having just graduated from college) was excellent. She was friendly and efficient and was on-the-spot with regard to recommendations.
My friends and I enjoyed the deep-fried pickles; I ordered the Sticky Baby Back Ribs, which were quite tasty. The sides (mashed potatoes and cole slaw) I selected were equally delicious - the cole slaw not being overpowered by the mayo and the potatoes being homemade.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling in the immediate area.
On a side note, they serve beer, but it you're looking for hard liquor, it is not served here. -

PROS: nice, friendly service, decent amount of food
CONS: the BBQ ribs didn't really taste that great nor the chicken. I think the chain Tony Romas is better. Anyway maybe its the best (the only?) rib joint in town? quite mediocre.
Next time I'm around, I'll just get KFC grilled chicken. Fast and cheap and tasty. -

I visited Wubba's for the very first time and I must say that I was impressed.
I had a pulled pork sandwich and some bbq nachos and they were very good.
The help was very friendly and willing to work with you if you are unfamiliar with the menu and one person even asked me if I would like water while I waited.
The only thing is that since they are always busy, the food tends to take a while, but worth waiting for. -

This was a great dinner before our trip to Crater Lake. I'm glad we ate there. Huge portions, good price, and good spicy bbq sauce. I'd go back anytime I'm in Klamath Falls.

This place has great food, but piss poor service!
It was about 11:30 am on a weekday during the holidays. The service was slow for having at least two waitresses on duty, one hostess, and about seven people TOTAL in the restaurant. Our waitress was just gabbin' away with her co-workers, and actually got a bit short with my aunt, but was as pleasant as pie to me.
Our food was slow to come. Two people who came in about 20 minutes after we had been seated and ordered received their food at the same time we did.
Now, onto the food. My aunt ordered a hog's back sandwich with a side of baked beans. I ordered the barbecue tri-tip sandwich with seasoned fries. Both sandwiches were piled high with meat! The size of the sides was also generous. Each sandwich came with a dill pickle spear.
My aunt enjoyed the baked beans so much, she ordered a second small side of them!
My tri-tip sandwich was delicious, but I wish they had toasted the stadium roll so it wouldn't have been so soggy. The seasoned fries were perfect, crisp, and had a hint of hotness.
We paid a little over $22 for lunch. A good deal for great food, but the service needs improvement. -

As someone who grew up in the Midwest and a frequent customer in some the best BBQ places throughout KC, I was very impressed to find a slice of KC here on the west coast. As with the other reviews, the food and service speak for itself. Great beef and pork including sides that will have you coming back for more!!

Darn good BBQ and excellent service. The sandwich was HUGE and too large to eat in one sitting. The slaw to BBQ ratio was perfect.

This barbecue is quite realistic. It is not healthy at all, but again, that's teh point, right?
Service can be hit-or-miss, but it is worth it, and by far the best BBQ in the village of K-Falls. -

From what I can tell during our brief trip through town, this is the only redeeming feature in Kalamath Falls besides the excellent Fred Meyer with the Peet's coffee inside.
Friendly service, family oriented, and great bbq. Both the kids and adults in our group were very happy.
Would almost convince me to go back to town... but not quite. -

This was a great lunch find while traveling by car from Tahoe to Portland. Food was exceptional and service was very friendly (mention yelp and get a discount). Reminded me of good St. Louis barbecue. I had the Happy Pig (pulled pork with carmelized peppers, onions, and shrooms) and my companion had the Phar from Philly (St. Louis interpretation of Philly cheese steak). It was difficult to choose from the great choices on the lunch menu. Place was comfortable and very clean, including bathrooms.

When we got here, we were all starving after a long day on the road. We were not disappointed! We had the BBQ platter with tri-tip, baby back ribs, and pulled pork. Everything was great.....best BBQ we've had. The coleslaw and BBQ beans we had were also very tasty. We all had a salad and they definitely know how to make a nice dinner salad. We all left full and very happy we discovered this place. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Wubba's is a great BBQ place. We come here regularly, and especially love the lunches. Their new lunch menu is great, more sandwich selections and they have all been great so far. My favorite is the Hogs Back which is pulled pork and coleslaw. Has been great every time I ordered it.
We have come here for dinner before, and the food is always great, however it seems if they get a lot of business the help gets overwhelmed. We were stuck waiting a rather long time one night due to the fact they forgot about us....was getting annoyed, however once we finally got seated the waitress was friendly and helpful, and as always the food was amazing.
Final thoughts: Would recommend this place, especially for lunch, and their BBQ is very very good. -

Quick update.... the spinach artichoke dip I raved about in my earlier review, they no longer serve. My heart is broken.
They do however have a new item on the menu called a "Wubba-ritto" which was surprisingly yummy. Your choice of pulled pork, chicken, or beef with their bbq beans, creole rice, cheese, bbq ranch, and onion fries all wrapped in a tortilla. Delish! I still have not forgiven them for taking their dip off the menu. Seriously, what were they thinking?1 Previous Review: Show all »

I happened to be in K-Falls for a ball game and and was looking for someplace to grab a bite before game time but absolutely did not want 'fast food'. Wow, was I in for a pleasant surprise!. This place was super close to Kiger Stadium and absolutely delilsh! The service was fast, friendly and the price was right! I could have spent that much at McD's getting a meal deal and the food here was MUCH better. I had the Porkin Hottie with corn fritters. The BBQ was smokey and tender and full of flavor. I want to try everything on the menu! I will make this a regular stop now every time I'm in the area.

The BBQ here is the best I've had out west so far. I've lived in Kansas city and it definitely compares to that type of sauce based BBQ with a west coast feel. Also, great appetizers (first time I've seen fried pickles outside of the south)

Didn't believe the reviews. Especially coming from a big city, its hard to believe something so good could exist in such a small town. But trust me, its well worth the stop.
Had the mixed ribs plate. Meat were melt off the bones tender and the BBQ sauce was amazing. Friend had the trip tip sandwich and was also excellent. The sides we ordered were the cheesy corn, Cajun rice, BBQ beans, and the cole slaw and they were excellent. The beans and the cheesy corn were exceptionally fantastic. And the BBQ sauce is to die for. Service was friendly and quick too! -

We were just passing through Klamath Falls in May 2010 when we decided to look for a nice place to eat. Other Yelp opinions steered us to this place.
We have no regrets.
Seating was comfortable and music was not loud or overwhelming. Our hostess and waitress were friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and the portions were huge (in line with other establishments of the kind - perhaps a bit more generous). We tried some wings and a couple of combination platters and all of it was really good.
If you're ever in the neighborhood and love BBQ, do yourself a favor and give this place a try.
My only regret is not having taking a picture of the establishment to better help others locate it... -

Corn fritters (i.e. hush puppies) are excellent. St. Louis ribs: one piece was amazing, the second pretty good. Pulled pork was quite good. Mac salad liked by my partner, but too much mayo for my taste. Green beans with bacon worth trying if you can't settle on what side to get.
Service and food were quick on a Sunday eve about 7:45pm. -

We came from WA on a spontaeous 48 hr. road trip to find some sun! We found Crater Lake plus the lava beds and caves just over the CA border (from Hwy. 97 to the 161). The highlight of the trip however was the Wubba's Combo Plate with the house made sausage and baby back ribs and Chicken! The bacon ranch dressing on my fresh salad was the bomb too! I'm going to brag on you on Trip Advisor. We came down Hwy 97 but I would even pop over to Klamath Falls from I-5 just to have 1 or more great meals again! Thanks! Capt. Tom

I stopped in town to visit a couple of friends, and we decided to get some Wubba's. It definitely did not disappoint. The first night there I got a tri-tip and ribs combo. The meat fell right off the ribs and the steak was cooked to perfection. Tender, full of flavor. Their brand of bbq sauce is pretty good as well.
It was so good we had to return the next week. This time I got a tri-tip salad. It came with fresh greens, onions, blue cheese crumble and a balsamic dressing. I'm not a fan of blue cheese at all but the combination on the salad was just perfect. We also remembered to mention Yelp and received the 10% off the bill.
The service was good both of the times I was there. The atmosphere is what'd you'd expect from a country BBQ restaurant. There are only a couple of downsides. First, which is parking. It's a little oddly placed and feels awkward since they do get a good amount of business. You'd think they'd have a little more space. Second, the chairs aren't too comfortable but more than well worth sitting through a superb meal for.
The next time I'm in town, I'm definitely paying another visit. -

Great BBQ. We stayed at the KOA and they recommended this place. We weren't disappointed.
Typical western decor. Excellent tri-tip sandwiches. Our waitress, Packerfan, was friendly and made us feel right at home. Will come back again when traveling through Klamath Falls. -

At the end of a road trip and this place was the best of the west. Good ribs, salad, the corn fritters were out of this world and couldn't have found a better person to serve all this wonderful food. Ask for Denise when you get there to eat and they give a 10% discount if you mention yelp. They also serve Diet Dr Pepper!!

Wife and I and a friend stopped by in Klamath Falls on our way from the Bay Area to Crater Lake (weekend July 24 2010). In a place that was relatively small compared to Redding, we didn't expect very much, just something to fill our famished bellies.
Christine (student at OIT) served us the first night and she was really helpful, warm and friendly.
But the food was really something besides - absolutely heavenly!
For the price, we ate to our hearts content, and we still had spare for our next day in Crater Lake!
Steak and ribs practically melted in our mouths... ahhh....
And even after the leftover ribs and steak had survived an overnight stay in the refrigerator and (uggh) microwave treatment, they still tasted very good!
The food was so much on our minds that we (ok, I!) absolutely had to stop by there again on Sunday on our way back. This time my wife ordered the "Happy Pig" sandwich and she turned into a happy pig! It's been on her mind since! Our server on Sunday was also friendly but I didn't remember her name. Okra was great too.
We ordered two different kinds of ribs - the "fatter" one on Fri, and the "leaner" one on Sunday. One was the "St Louis Style Spare Ribs", the other was the "Sticky Baby Back Ribs", I can't remember in which order.
We liked the "fatter" one better; "leaner" one was kind of dry...
The service and especially the food was so good, I've been looking for an excuse to "stop by" there again. Only the 6 or 7-hour (one-way! :( ) drive is stopping me so far... -

Just about what I'd expect from a small town BBQ joint that isn't in a small southern town. The food hit the spot after a long drive, there's a decent beer selection, and the service was satisfactory.

Stopped by Klamath Falls on the way to Crater Lake and found their booth at a festival near our hotel. We ordered nachos with meat. To my surprise, their BBQ meat was one of the best I have had in the west coast! The portion was generous. The melted cheese was flavorful but not too salty, which totally changed my impression about nachos. The menu apparently was much smaller than what they offer at the restaurant. It's a pity that we did not have a chance to check out the restaurant.

Klamath Falls, OR
If luke-warm mediocre food is what you crave eat here! First of all, it appears to me that Wubba's wants to sell me the idea of barbecue, can't pull it off. The 'juicy' Foie Gras that they are marketing as pulled pork really got me. Okay it wasn't totally pate, but it was stringy and super mushy.I ordered a sandwich and the bun was soaked, but not with juice, it was water from a steam pan. The meat was colored with orange, I suppose on some deprived planet it can be said this is sauce. Tasteless and luke warm on a white bun. Well, they can't make a sandwich for sit down. So I will skip to an event they catered for us. This time a huge pan of barley meaty ribs in cold sauce. These ribs were mostly bone not a decent bit of meat present. The pulled pork was floating, soaked in water, not juices, orange hued and tasteless. Our rice, was hard and had to be the most sticky glue that could not be served I have ever seen. The corn on the cob was dry in areas, shrunken dry kernels in areas like decorative corn! Did I mention it was tiny bits of frozen corn on the cob?? Horrible! Gnarly coleslaw with some specks of dark discoloration on the cabbage, saturated in plain mayonnaise and water. No flavor. Just foul.
My guests complained the whole time. Initially, many were excited because they never tried Wubba's. They believed that they were getting a treat. We bought into the Wubba's hype. All we got was cold garbage. Believe me, skip this place and go to phony Red's. Or better yet, DIY. Even a novice can do better than this hole.
