As soon as we walked I knew I was in love!! We headed straight to the pastry cases and began to salivate!! So many choices, so many calories and so little time! The fresh Coffee Milk is a must try!!

We finally settled on a pu pu platter of treats to go. Strawberry Shortcake, Tiramisu, Carrot Cake, Key Lime Pie, Vanilla Napoleon and cinnamon twist. AMAZING is an understatement! The Napoleon custard was so fresh, rich and creamy....I think I'm in heaven! The carrot cake and strawberry shortcake were both super moist, not overly sweet and perfectly topped with fresh cream.

We were shocked by the ridiculously low prices for the amazingly high quality of desserts, baked goods and amazing milk. I loved the farm and the baby cows are sooo cute!!

Overall an amazing experience. Its a place worth stopping by if your in the area. I wish we lived closer but then again my waste line must be glad for the distance between us.

Pretty groovy, would be especially fun for those with small children - a fun voyage to see where milk comes from!  At the end, you can go to the bakery store (where 60% of their business is done) and have a delicious pastry, muffin, or cookie for DIRT CHEAP.

You can see the calves, milk cows, pregnant cows, and the feeding and milking of them that gets milk to your table.  Pretty fun day.

Up until now, I had had cakes from here, but never actually been to the farm myself.

A couple weeks ago, we threw a bday cookout for my mom. And we ordered the cake from Wright's. We ordered the full sheet, which serves 60-80 people. We had upwards of 80 people coming, but a lot of kids and we still figured that we'd end up with a lot of leftover cake. We were mistaken. We got half yellow, half chocolate. Mom wanted simple, no fillings, with the traditional white frosting. We asked for a mix of fresh and icing flowers in pastels, and the cake was beautiful.

In the end, we had a little bit leftover, but most of it had disappeared. Everyone was asking where we got the cake, and kept saying how good it was. Definitely a winner.

The farm itself is actually pretty cool. There's a milking barn and obviously a vast expanse of land. But, It's sort of in the middle of a residential area. It's a winding route of back roads from my parents' house, a scenic country drive.

You get a sugar high just from walking into the bakery, which smells so good, I almost didn't want to leave. I was in a bit of a hurry, so I just picked up the cake and left, but I would have liked to poke around a bit. They had a few cakes in the display case, which were a bit eccentric, and absolutely awesome (3-tiered cake with grass and cows in fondant? adorable).

Can't wait to go back, and even though I had 2 pieces of that cake two weeks ago, I'm still craving more...

Holy COWS, this place is great. I ordered 400+ of their shortbread cookies to use as favors for our wedding, and I cannot even express how satisfied I was with them. They were so inexpensive, at ~$25 for the whole thing! The employees are all so helpful, the baked good delicious, and it's fun to look at the cows they have there. SO worth the drive from MA, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a yummy 'something special'.
BONUS! The Beef Barn is right down the street! Cheap cheeseburgers and coffee milkshakes!

I love this place, and if you ever make it to Rhode Island, you have to stop by this working farm, called Wright's Dairy, in North Smithfield, they have the best bakery on the planet as far as I'm concerned..

Being a chubby girl you know I love's my cake! The Carrot cake was my favorite, followed by the chocolate eclair's, but this place is famous for it's Ginger bread type square cookies called "Hermits" with a glass of cold milk, it's heavenly!

I admit it I am a dessert junkie. Wright's Dairy Farm is my fix. This place is one of the last real working dairies in the area, opened in 1900!
When you first arrive you can see these little "dog houses" with baby cows in them - very cute. The parking is limited but if you find a spot in back you can look to your left and see where the cows are kept before milking. The great thing about this dairy is you can watch how the cows are milked and learn cool cow facts they have posted.

But the milk is what keeps me coming back. Even though I drink skim milk it still tastes full bodied. And the cream, light and heavy, is to die for (with the cholesterol it has in it that just might do it). Also they have chocolate milk, coffee milk, and eggnog (holiday time treat). The fun thing about the milk is that the caps can be collected to get five dollars off your order. The kids will have fun collecting the different colored caps. Ahhh.. OK adults also. Every time I drink a glass I have to salute those cows.

The selection of baked goods make my head hurt. Every counter is filled with cookies, pastries, cakes and chocolates (made with real butter). Then you have to decide between the muffins, pies, and trifles in the case next to them.

You must remember to take a number if you do not want to be left behind, because these women move fast. They know service and the products.

If you want to place an order or are picking one up you will have to go to the area next to the retail store. Thank you for remodeling much easier to maneuver and see the goodies.

My father is obsessed with their custard pie, my sister loves the lemon squares, and I love everything. But they seem to be famous for their hermits which you can order on line.

Word to the wise. If you are going to want a cake, pie or something that needs time to make - order well in advance. The holidays are crazy.

Again my compliments to the cows.

not gourmet, but god damn delicious.  i never liked their cake... whipped cream style frosting, ick, but all of their other treats are TASTY, and they milk their own cows right there.  i grew up a five minute walk down the road, so i have fond memories of the chocolate fudge brownies with m&ms on top of the frosting, and the overwhelming stench on manure wafting up the hill, into our house on hot summer days.

I rated Wright's a 5, not because it is "gourmet", but because you will not find better baked goods for anywhere near their price. Yes, you can always find better, but plenty of places charge far more than Wright's does, for a product that is not nearly as good. This place is a screaming bargain, and the stuff is fresh because they have fast, fast turnover. They specialize in whipped cream products, because they have plenty of cream from the cows that watch you as you head into the bakery. This is a "real" farm, and a "real" bakery. No frozen "store finished" stuff here.
