Review from jenn h.
Washington, DC
Great course, though with the narrow fairways and fast greens, it can get frustrating for me. My man and his friends are far better golfers, and they play here ALL the time. They take advantage of the free ninth round - especially in July and August when they give double credits! And with special all you can play replays, they also very often play double rounds. That's 36 holes, people - no joke!
Don't worry; I do actually get to see him still, even when we're not playing together. I haven't become a widow to golf quite yet!Listed in: GOLF

Review from Ross R.

Their layout is totally undistingusihed and if I am driving all the way out here, I am paying $10 more for Whiskey Creek or getting off 270 a few exists sooner for PB Dye or Blue Mash.
The clubhouse is small. their range is mats only. Their maintenace is decent, but they have the most unreceptive greens in the area. Its an ok course, there are just others I would play first. -

this is my first online review of anything ...ever! so please excuse me if i stutter.
im stuck looking at february's white crap blanketin my car and im cooped up with some serious cabin fever. all i think about is golfin and fishin in the summer, which led me to this.
you can count on me to be in a river, on the banks of a lake, or cussing my butt off at worthington manor golf course when the weather is warm.
my friends and i play this course once a week from april to september and im gonna tell you why...
the course: very challenging with a rating of 74.4 and a slope of 144 from the tips. that means if you're a 15 handi, you might break a hundred. it's extremely hilly (the course is on the side of a mountain), with slick greens and a true roll. the subtle kicker is that you never have a flat lie. its one of those courses where just hittin the fairway isn't good enough, you have to hit the right spot on the fairway. all im sayin is expect your mouth to excercise every expletive. but if you end up breakin 85 then you feel like the man for atleast a week.
the staff: for a $95 (weekend rate) course one would expect a bunch of rigid, pretentious, snobby group (been there... i'll let you know where in my following reviews). but quite the contrary. they are accomodating, friendly, and appreciative of their guests. it is very easy to be on a first name basis with the starter and club pro.
the food: whether the clubhouse has a white table restaurant or a hot dog cart, you can expect to be overcharged. with that said, worthy's two lady operation offers you a basic deli type of menu, (hot and cold sandwhiches). and after squeezing in 36 holes, their charbroiled burgers really hit the spot - but get this hearty beast after you play. their wing dings are one of our favorites too.
overall, how could you have a bad experience if you golfed ... allll day!
this place would be a 5 star easy but they do have 1 frustrating issue - the bunkers. you never know if you're hitting out of clay, dirt, or pebbles.
it really is a shame because everything else is picturesque
oh, expect to have an emotional filled day for a little more than $100, (weekday rates of $69 green fee, $10 replay, $20 for food and beverage-adult beverage available too).
