World Market is a great place to shop, I can't leave without buying something...it could be anything, I just have to buy something from that neat store! I am in love with their funky foods, and the variety of choices they have!!
They've got the "Pool Predator." What else do you want?
(See photo for evidence of Pool Predator)
Yup, this sure looks like World Market. They can also be seen in suburbs across America including KC. But this one does manage to maintain a big, suburban, parking lot in the middle of one of KC's most unique and pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods.
Cheers for bringing the suburbs to the city!
I hate this place.
Reason being that every time I walk in here to buy a bottle of wine, I always walk out blowing $100+ on miscellaneous items (Tea, Zapps potato chips, etc etc.)
And that's just me. My wife also has her tea rampage that only adds to the damage once we get to the register.
Seriously, it's one of the more unique stores in the area (even though it's a chain). Be prepared to spend some cash though.
I am slightly addicted to World Market and I have to make an effort to avoid this place because it definitely puts a dent in my bank account. Almost everything I won is from World Market. I love Moroccan and Indian Culture and World Market has a great selection of items from these areas. Not only do the have furniture and decor they also have a huge area for foods from around the world. I am a huge tea fan and they carry my favorite tea brand Two Leaves and a Bud.
Huge wine selection, usually with some really good sales too. If you are looking for unique serving dishes and tinsels they have an amazing selection. If you have never been here which is hard for me to fathom you must check it out.
This is one of my favorite stores ever. I grew up going here with my mom in California. Its called Cost Plus in CA. Whenever I am sad, needing a gift, needing to get my mind off things- I go here, and I just wander around. There are always so many neat things to look at, fun food things to buy and a great atmosphere. They have a wonderful wine selection, the beer is amazing, and the imported food is fun.
It kind of sucks now though because Westport started charging for that one lot in front of Buzzard Beach, so now all the westport people park at World Market and parking is getting tough!!!!!! Its irritating!
Oh the randomness that somehow makes sense. Here's a market that mixes home decor with several varieties of snacks, dips, and beverages. Here's my thought, go pick up that last tea light holder or shelf organizer for the bathroom while grabbing a bottle of wine. You'll thank me when you're back home. After getting blitzed, go ahead and dig out your purchase and see what ideas come to mind. In the end you'll remember World Market.
Mash up Pier One and West Elm and you'll arrive somewhere at World Market. Prices are definitely affordable and you'll enjoy the fact it stays open past 8pm. Can't say that for many stores in KC.
This is one of the few World Markets in the KC metro, and definitely the most accessible to me since it is in Westport. The store is pretty big- it looks smaller on the outside than it actually is, since the buildings run together.
I really like all the worldly home decor here, especially the curtains, which are actually really reasonably priced. They also have furniture, art, and other knick-knacks. When their baskets are on sale, it's a great time to come in because they are a great quality and there are many different types and varieties that are great for organizing bedroom stuff, magazines, or blankets.
They also have a food section, which is really out place, but I've never really bought anything from that section- when i go to world market, it is for stuff for my apartment, not for something to eat.
Where else can I find my Vegemite, Glugg, and Buddy Wash shampoo for my doggie?? NO WHERE!! I love the homewares because the selection is unique and the prices are usually reasonable. The food section is awesome because you can find somehting new to try every time you go in without breaking the bank. The wine section rocks for that same reason - I often find bottles of table wine for around $5 that are terrific.
I friggin love this place! World Market is like ADD shopaholic paradise in one store. Or heaven, as I call it.
The boy and I were driving down Westport place when I spotted World Market, and immediately made him to a U-ey and go back. It was indeed the World Market I knew from California. I swear you can find anything you need for your house here.
A kitchen table. Check.
Bed fram and nightstand. Check.

Chips and salsa to consume while arranging your furniture. Check.
Beer to drink to make the arrangement look good. Check.
I feel like this store is so random but in a good way. And it's totally inexpensive too. You can also get specialty spices that are probably hard to find in KC. I'm so loving this place and will be back. Many times over.
Just like everyone else I think this place is fantastic. I never leave empty handed. Decorations, jewelry, furniture, etc etc etc etc! I love the food selection. Some things that are a bit obscure but reasonably priced. The wine selection is great and well-priced and they also have a nice beer selection. Plus, it carries my new favorite treat Nutella:)
Westport's World Market turned what I thought would be a gigantic headache (buying a new bed) into an easy and quick task. Travis is my bald-headed hero. He lugged out all the boxes my new furniture came into and tried to heave them into the back of my dad's borrowed SUV. When we realized it just. wasn't. fitting. he quickly removed the pieces from their boxes and showed how neatly they fit into the car. I generally love any World Market but this location especially gets 5 Stars.
Plus: after depleting the majority of the gift cards I got for Christmas to WM (this bed had been on my radar for quite some time), I had about $8 left to the store. Perfect for 2 bottles of really cheap/excellent wine that they carry!
This is the best World Market I have been to! Their store is amazing- filled with odd little trinkets and gorgeous wood and furniture that is eclectic, unique, classy, and makes me feel like I picked these pieces up during all of my wordly travels! haha
Known as "Cost Plus" in good ol' Modesto, Westport's "World Market" rocks just the same!
They have a great selection of cute wines (Cupcake Chardonnay---HELLLLLLO), great selection of snacks, and an even better array of home products like glassware (all my champagne goblets are from here and I got some GREAT pint/water glasses with ANCHOR Stemware embossed on them, yea yeaaaa).
I really have nothing bad to say about this place, the floor plan is great, people are helpful, and the prices are reasonable. Great place to get gifts!
Wandering World Market is one of my pleasures in life. The only sad part about the interesting but small beer selection is that you can't buy less than a six-pack (though you can make that up of 6 different beers). Candy you can't find anywhere else may turn up here. A year ago they sold bulk Ghiradelli, but I haven't seen it return. Nice wine selection and fun kitchen and household sections. They sell their own branded packs of spices that are hard to find, like dried lavender buds and star anise. Outside of the European store in Lawrence, this is the only place I have been able to find Jaffa Cakes. I crave their furniture and have bought an adorable desk and an entertainment center there -- you can get sweet discounts on floor models. You can get their credit card for an additional discount and 0% interest (I forget for how long).
Don't let the euro furniture nik-naks fool you: They sell food in the back.
In fact, they sell a lot of great food you really can't find anywhere else, for example, Christmas Stollen! In addition, there's tons of ethnic foods, and I'm always attracted to the very cheap cans of world market brand indian food.
They also have a pretty nice wine selection, but there are probably better places to go for wine. Also, they sell a blend of Kona coffee there, and that is just great. I literally walked around for like half an hour just looking at stuff. Great place.
I love World Market - they have a great selection of food, booze and home decor. I especially love the World Market location because it's never too crowded or picked over.
