9 reviews for Woody's Golf Range
BEST miniature golf place that I have ever played at.. just really unique.
The theme is 'jungle'.. it is VERY well decorated. Apparently Newsweek magazine rated this place as TOP 5 in the United States(http://www.woodysgolf....). It's really big and you can tell they spent A LOT of money. There's fog, caves, tarzan swinging from a tree. Really spectacular and fun.
There is ample amounts of parking.. they even have a golf range.. but I only did the miniature golf. REALLY FUN.
I should go back here and take my girlfriend.
My work took us there to get away from the office.. afterwards we had a BBQ at one of their large tents outside.

The mini golf was fun. A jungle theme with the soundtrack to Indiana Jone and The Mummy. Not extremely challenging but fun. It rained a lot in the morning so the course was very slow and soggy. Watch out for hole 17 with the spitting gator. All in all a very fun course for all ages.
$9.50 for adults and a buck or less cheaper for children and senior citizens.
Also, there is a driving range. Bucket of balls range from small at 6.00 to large at 12.00. I think there is also a jumbo as well. The better value is in the larger bucket.
The pro shop is small but adequate.

As a customer, I expect a business to backup their claims with some real substance. Woody's is a now show in my book. Top 5 in America according to Newsweek? Who wrote that article the owner? The theme is cute, sure, but I've seen a dozen better mini golf courses in this region alone. Alright, so I actually play golf and know how to putt, but at least most courses try to give you a challenge as you play, this course was a series of straight shots to the hole with no obstacles or creativity at all. I walked out with a score barely bigger than the number of holes I played.
The driving range is alright, pretty standard as far as most ranges in this region go, nothing interesting. The driving range landing area is a B- at best and its not a great place to practice crafting shots. I don't play baseball but I suppose the batting cages are just about the same as everywhere else, but all in all this place is far too expensive to be worth the time, there are plenty of cheaper and more challenging minigolf courses in the area and many cheaper ranges that are as good if not better.
Um, I was a little disappointed based on the reviews. The Indiana Jones theme is cute, but it's really not that great. It took us all of 15 minutes to finish the only course. For $10, I expect a little more.
Best mini golf place I have ever been to, hands down.
If you are looking for something fun and cheesy to do with a date, this is your place. It is jungle themed and there are plenty of things to laugh at. There are water guns that squirt at you and idols that tell you that "you have made the wrong choice" complete with Indiana Jones theme music and stuff that swings from the trees above.
It is expensive at $9 a person but well worth it for a very, VERY fun and somewhat challenging course. I, for one, have never seen a place like this so to me it is well worth the price of admission! You will find no better mini golf place within 500 miles of here, I'd put $5 on that!

The first thing you need to remember when comparing any mini golf place, is that they all are, for the most part, somewhat cheesy and neglected. If you can remember that, and can deal with that, you will appreciate that Woody's does cheesy very well.
The mini golf course is African jungle themed, with some actual artifacts from Africa (according to the sign), a freaky looking tarzan that swings through the jungles (but looks more like a corpse than anything), robotic monkeys that laugh at you as you try to get in the hole, a fog machine, a crocodile that shoots water at you as you try and putt, and a tomb that opens if you press a secret button. As you go around the course, you'll hear music from Indiana Jones too.
At $9.25 for each adult, it's pretty pricey, but the atmosphere is pretty cool and makes for an enjoyable game of mini golf, even if you typically suck. This place would be a great venue for Halloween, and they are open late too.

The mini golf is fun. Perils of the Lost Jungle, it is called. Very fun. Lately, Woody's has been advertising that it is rated top 5 in the country. Huh? It is not even top 5 that I have been to. OK, sorry to be down but just on that supposed rating. We like this mini golf place. It is FUN!
I am not a real golfer, so I will pass on that.
I have been to the batting cages a half-dozen or so times. It is OK. Bring your own bat. The house bats stink. They require wearing of helmets, so bring your own if you can.

I enjoy taking study breaks at this family-oriented complex. There isn't a better way to destress than hitting balls as hard as you can with a 9 iron. :) The driving range has covered and uncovered tees and (I think) an area for practicing your chip shots. The "club house" sells your basic golf supplies and they also have golf pros available for private instruction.
The mini golf course is loads of fun... it's the type of place you wish you could have gone to as a child. I went with my family (parents, sisters, brother-in-law and niece) and we all had a blast. With surprises around every corner and an open imagination, you just might find yourself having more fun with your family than you had expected... even if your 4-year-old niece is kicking your ass!
The best time to visit Woody's is during the day while others are working (a perk of being a student) or maybe a weeknight before school lets out for the summer. The drawbacks... It's pricey. But then again, most everything is in Northern Virginia.

Great Place to hit some balls. There's a mini golf course too. It's usually not too crowded. It's hard to stop when you're driving 55-65 miles per hour on route 7. It you're facing sterling it's on the left side.
