best pizza in my whole life. there is shit IN THE CRUST. i was one of the kids who refused to eat pizza rust. WOODSTOCKS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.
The firebird, meat orgy, garlic bird and lethal weapon (is the latter only available at the one on campus?) are what I usually get. the wildeside is also wonderful.
their delivery is always efficient. I haven't been back as a 21 year old yet, but I've heard good things about their pint night/ happy hour.
also we got a free cinnabread once cause someone forgot theirs. best day ever.

This place has good pizza. My only gripe with it is that the toppings tend to fall off when you grab a slice. The prices are kinda expensive, but it's SB. But if you use coupons and go with friends, it's worth it.

I love their beer selection, too. However, if I had to pick between the best pizza in SB, it'd be Rusty's. Definitely.

There's a booth inside that I signed on a hot date a few years ago... now we're happily married.  You seriously need to go and sign your name on your next date if you're hoping he's the one!

We order the same thing every time we go - hawaiian pizza, Brother Tom's salad, and a cinnabread.  The pizza is definitely above average, but the cinnabread is stellar.  Sometimes the side of the restaurant by the bathroom smells like dirty socks... too many college boys in one location, I guess.  At least they deliver to our apartment in Goleta...

This place has the most incredible "Wild Bread" nice college atmosphere and terrific pizza. Any SB local knows about Woodstocks and college students thrive on this stuff.

Whenever I am in town I try to pick up an order of wild bread with some good ranch dressing.

Best pizza + good beer + open late on weekends? AWESOME! I really like the bbq bird...ask for a side of ranch to dip it in. They have pretty good lunch specials, too.

Beware of dinner time...it gets really crowded and it takes some time to find a seat.

I was visiting my girlfriend at UCSB this past weekend and we came here on Saturday for lunch. They have such an original selection of pizza types. I couldn't decide between all of the intriguing options, so my friend just chose her favorite. I can't quite recall which pizza she chose, but it had lots of meat and mushrooms. The pizza was very filling and very good. We only got  medium and we still had leftover after the two of us stuffed our faces!
Awesome local place to grab a slice. Even if I hadn't tried for myself, I would've guessed that the place was delicious due to the huge crowd there. If you're in Isla Vista looking for something delicious, Woodstock's is a great pick!

I'll use the way I used to talk when I was in college..

HEY BRAH! yer totally gonna be ripped for this woodstocks, dude.. it's like the friggin best! man, after all those beers on DP and hooking up with that random at that party... ooooh sheeeet she was soo smokin'... this grub sounded tiiiiiight.. so we cruised our bikes over here (avoiding the IVFP to keep from getting BUIs) and had some brew and woodstocks..

you don't call this shiznit "pizza", man.. it's always known as "woodstocks" as in: "we're gonna get some woodstocks, want some?"

    you call Domino's "pizza"

*I may or may not be lying about talking like this during my time at UCSB.

i'd heard of the awesome pizza at woodstocks & against my better judgment of trying a pizza place in IV on a saturday night, went for it. the place was so loud & chaotic that the first impression was to turn around & walk out but i had already pre-ordered my pizza since we were going to a show at UCSB & had to make time. the cashier didn't have a clue if my pizza was indeed in the oven or if the phone-in order had been lost & gave us a brush off answer. we waited almost 10 minutes for our pitcher of beer while standing at the beer counter where an employee was obviously frazzled & trying to answer the phone, process orders, and do beer at the same time. i asked if he could track down our order & he wanted to brush me off but i didn't allow him as we were going to bail if the pizza wasn't on its way. when we did get our extra large IV special, it was good but not good enough to return to a place that can't get or keep its shit together.
UPDATE! a day after posting this review, i received a very sincere reply from woodstock's management apologizing for my bad experience. i can't overstate how much i appreciate this acknowledgment as it mitigates a bad experience & shows w.stocks cares about customer service. every restaurant can have a bad day & thanks to good management & a little effort, i am willing & eager to give w.stocks another try (tho maybe not on a saturday night!).

First time coming to Santa Barbara and I ask my friend " what's a good spot to eat here?" He mentions this place and my first thought was " really? Pizza??"

The pizzas are amazing! It is full of flavor and to top it off, the crust is crispy yet moist that is folded over in a way where they add sauce into the crust. This place truly is worth stopping for when I come to SB to visit friends. Must try once!

If i were to pick one pizza place to eat at for the rest of my life it would be Woodstocks. Damn your ability to put sauce in the crust! and your uncanny way to sway me with your incredibly unhealthy sugary cinnabread! DAMN YOU!!! The last three years of undergrad were the fattiest years of my life and it's all because of your one slice of pizza, one slice of cinnabread, and a soda deal.

My cravings were finally ended this sat when a group of us went up for adventures and then immediately after we finished on came a second wave of cravings. OK so, my favorite for 3 years was the bbq bird, got it all the time. Red onions, bbq chicken, bbq tomato sauce, cheese. perfect. After that I stuck with just plain pepperoni on wheat crust. YUM. gosh their wheat crust is good.

Their cinnabread is like CRACK! i need more!!! So much sugar. You'll have fuzzy teeth for the rest of the day. but all worth the cavities. don't like the apple one, or the chocolates mess they've recently concocted. Plain old cinnabread is the way to go my friends. LOVE.

4 years of pizza happiness right here. UCSB, Woodstock's, and Freeb!rds all form a trifecta of awesomeness.

I love, love, love their Mediterranean pizza! I believe I've had all their pizzas except for the Hawaiian. They are all great. I really like that they can load on the toppings and the pizza does not become a hot soggy mess. Prime example: the Vegetarian. Damn, girl, damn!

Salads: good and at a good price. I've had the Greek, Brother Tom's and Antipasto.

Dessert: Cinnabread, Apple Cinnabread, PB and Chocolate, all hit the spot. Out of the three, my favorite is the Apple Cinnabread. I never had chocolate caramel, looks a bit too intense for me.

The interior walls closest to the beach: Where the Wild Things Are. Very cool.

    I miss you, Woodstock's :-*

Great pizza, but even better than that AWESOME pint night. Wednesday's after 4pm is Pint Night. Great way to drink on a budget. The first pint you buy is $5 or $6 (depending on the beer you choose). Then you get a wristband and every pint that follows is $1 - $2. You also get to keep the glass they give you!

Who's up for some low-quality, hair-peppered, vomit-inducing pizza!?!!  Yeeeah!  Well, then come on down to Woodstock's Pizza in IV!

Woodstock's has a win with its primely situated location right at the outskirts of UCSB, and its low prices are certainly an appeal--and certainly commensurate with the quality.

As a pizza fanatic myself, I have to say it's surprising to me to this day that I was able to digest the refuse served up at this joint.  But hey, like I said, it's cheap.

    Isn't there a Domino's a few blocks away??

I love this Woodstock's pizza! I've gone here with my ex and a few friends and it's always SO TASTY with fun memories.

Although this place gets busy, our pizzas always came out in a timely manner. Hot and tasty :) They usually have a few good deals like with their cinnabread of specialty pizza. MmmmMMMm, I want some right now!

This was the first Woodstock's I had ever been to. This place definitely has a college feel to it.  All the employees are super friendly, always laughing and having a good time. After coming here, I started going to the Woodstock's in Santa Cruz.

I remember eating so much that the two walks back to the house nearly killed me.

It's a great place to hang out with friends, make new ones, and eat like there's no tomorrow.

THE BEST PIZZA IN IV. Dare I say, maybe in California! I miss Woodstocks pizza probably almost everyday of my "adult" life. My favorites: BBQ Bird and the Garlic Bird, The Fire Bird is OK but can be a tad overkill especially after the 2nd slice. Their pepporoni or sausage pizza is bomb too, keep it simple is always best. Wings WINGS WINGS!

Let's not forget the everyday beer specials and the happy hour on Thirsty Thursdays! Honey Blonde you have my heart.

Woodstocks pizza is unique and one of a kind and no where can I find pizza quite like this.

    P.s. their ranch is amazing!

The first time you have Woodstocks, it's really good.
    The second time, it's good.
By the fourth or fifth time, you start to realize you're only eating here out of convenience or for the cinnabread.

Pizza is moderately tasty, but the best thing that can really be said about a regular one (meaning non-fancy like the BBQ Bird) is the sauce in the crust. Not five star by any means

The cinnabread is quite tasty and so is the cheesy garlicky bread.

If you don't know a special or have a coupon or something, you're probably paying too much for pizza, but the Woodstocks on campus has some good student specials so you can find a way to make it work in your budget.

Gio's does have better pizza though.

I still get giddy when I step foot into Woodstock's.  Although I grabbed lunch down the street, I ordered one of the Specials (we didnt' have those options when I was a student)... a Med. 1 Topping Pizza which comes with a Cinnabread for $14 or something... you save a few bucks... but I opted for the Wildbread with Ranch.  They have Killer Ranch and I got a Med. Mushroom Pizza... oh this was to-go so I could enjoy it with my friends in Monterey that have never experienced Woodstocks.

The man that helped me out must have been the owner or manager as he was definately there when I was (class of '02) and he grabbed a cup for me to put ice in for my ranch... I nearly teared up.  So smart and sweet!

The pizza almost didn't make it through the 3 hour drive.  See I gave my sister and her roommate a slice and I ate 3... It actually saved me from getting a speeding ticket.  I knew I was going way too fast so I pulled to the right lane and stuffed my face with a slice and let the PoPo drive past me on my left... I figured the faster I drove home, the more pizza and Wildbread there would be for the others.

I love you Woodstock's.  Thank you for the good memories.  My favorite is still the one of my friend Nini eating someone else's leftovers...

Ordered Woodstock to go for a company party. We had about 15 pizzas and about 6 different types to choose from. The pizza tasted very bland. I chose 3 different slices including cheese, how can you wrong with cheese? WRONG!! The cheese was like just a thick layer with a light burnt taste. Sorry Woodstock but i'm not a fan. They do get 2 stars for offering wheat crust and fully vegan pizzas for the vegan lovers out there (not me) Overall I won't be back.

I had a salad. It was kind of expensive, I think. It was a large, and it was very big, but...the topping pricing is weird and gets expensive, too! The toppings cost more per topping on a large salad than a small one. The pizza didn't look very good, it was kind of mushy and strange. I didn't even want to try any! And trust me, I love pizza. The Cinnamon Pie was good, except for the cooked apples on top. They made me furious :(

There's a different place you have to order your beer, which is kind of annoying. I guess because it's a college town they're all dumb about having one person check IDs, but really? Oh, college.

This place fucking rules. Super cheap personal pizza's made to your liking and wouldn't you know they have dessert pizzas which I of course just had to have one. This place is also open late so you get to see some awesome drunk college kids coming in when they have the drunken munchies. If I lived in the area I would probably frequent this place quite a bit, especially for the dessert pizza, it was so god damn good.

I've spent SO much time here at Woodstocks, grubbin' on the wildebread (super cheesy bread seasoned w/ oregano), pepperoni pizza, and the cinnabread (pretty much a giant cinnamon roll pizza). I'd say that I gained 5 out of 15 of my "freshman 15" here during college.. hhaah. Well worth it!

Ooooooooh my. Given that we missed the dinner rush by ordering and sitting down before a huge line formed, it took forever to get our pizza, and the cinnamon roll like pizza dessert that came with the combo we ordered... never came. I even asked twice about where it was - asking meaning I chased around one of the servers who gave me one word answers. My boyfriend had to go up to the counter to ask them for it when they acted as if they had known all along and handed him a fresh one from the oven.

We were hoping for so much more being the supposed BEST pizza place of IV. The pizza was okay, I did like that they folded over the crust allowing a moist and saucey crust instead of a dry one. Get the dessert pizza if you have more than 2 people to eat it, the dessert pizza is WAY doughier and thicker than the actual pizza so after one slice you're done.

I give the crust a yum rating of "maxed out". I would give Woodstock a five but it would need some awesome drinks and something extra special in the sauce and or toppings to hit that 5 star level.

I only give it a 2 star because of the flavor of the wheat dough and the spices in the sauce made it a tasty pie.  Otherwise the whole experience was barely a one star.

My boyfriend wanted to show me I.V. and remembered this place fondly.  It must have been a different owner or manager or something at that time.

Service was pretty much non-existent.  Place your order at the counter - the girl was friendly and knowledgeable.  Go get your own soda.  Pick up your own plates, napkins, silverware.  Pick out your own table and wipe off the crumbs from the bench seats and cover up the sticky patches of whatever that stuff was, with napkins.  Loved the fun graffiti on the wooden walls & back of the bench seats.

But my major complaint of all AND the main reason why I won't go back, nor try any other location...... I can't comprehend why a pizza that came from a well working oven (I asked - they said it was working fine) which was located less than 10 feet away from our table, came to our table barely luke-warm?!  The crust was cold.  The toppings appeared to have been hot at one time.  The cheese was the only thing on it with any warmth to it.  It was cooked exactly how we like it - well done, almost burnt.  Love it that way!  So why was a pizza from an oven THAT close, which should have burned the roof of my mouth, so so so so cold?  Delivery pizza is warmer that that was!

It's not like the place was crowded.  It was before the dinner hour on a Sunday night.  There were more employees working in the place than customers.  I was so disappointed.  Maybe that industrial blower over the oven had something to do with it?

Did they offer to make good?  Nope.  Nada.  Barely an apology.

Frickin COLD in the place.  What's up with that?  Front door WIDE open.  WTF?  It's winter people.  A pizza place should be toasty warm for the customers.

    Sad.

1am in Anacapa after a session of puffin' and passin':

    *ring, ring*

    "Woodstock's Pizza."
"Yeah, um, I'd like to order 2 large, um, hey what do you guys want?"
    "Pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeno's, YEAH!"
    "Pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeno's please."
    "Address?"
"Yeah, we're on UC campus, in the Anacapa dorms"
    "Room number?"
"Psst, what room number am I, I can't remember"
    "1224!"
"Aright, that'll be 30.55, we'll be there in 30-45 minutes"

Sweet memories. Due to the conversation above, Woodstock's is partly to blame for my freshman 15. Damn, did I love their pizza.  Woodstock's put cheese in the crust, WAY before any other generic pizza chains did. I miss this place like crazy. Since graduating, I've only been to the downtown location, which for some reason doesn't taste as good as the joint in Isla vista.

Woodstock's how I miss thee, expand and come to Nor Cal!

Props for the whole wheat crust and doing the fold-over technique long before fast food pizza places offered it as some kinda newfangled marketing scheme.

Getting a fresh pizza to order is the way to go. It does take an extra 15-20 minutes for it to arrive, so folks with limited dining times should phone it in ahead of time.

They've teamed up with the IV Food Co-op to offer a fully vegan pizza, and their campus spot is open late. I know there are some folks out there who are super appreciative of these offerings.

There are also good specials, which all include the BOTTOMLESS SODA. I got the slice, with "free" side of ranch and aforementioned bottomless soda for $3.99.
My lunch buddy got the 32 ounce beer, $6. Jesus. What the hell? Oh yeah, college town.

Points off, though, for blasting the early 90s grunge so loud we could barely think. And if everyone who eats there knows the first thing to do when the pizza arrives is dab up the grease with a handful of napkins, is that really a good tradition to have?

And really, before you turn this spot into your happy place of fond college memories before going into the real world of corporate pizza joints, please note that Woodstock's does a crazy amount of bliss point marketing, like training (and testing) the staff to upsell the sickenly sweet cinnamon dessert pizza thingie. And a 420 special? Clever, dude.

But a point back for keeping all the graffiti on the walls. Sometimes you really can make a poignant statement with a simply drawn penis and hairy balls.

Pizza by the slice, perfect for people like me in denial about how much pizza I actually consume in a year. They skimp a bit on the toppings in comparison to the actual restaurant location, you can't pick your crust, and the tomatoes they add on as an afterthought separate from the cooking process can bog down the slice, BUT the tangy rich tomato sauce, ingredients coming nicely sliced instead of hacked and minced, and (of course) the cheesy goodness win me over every single time.

They also take credit card, thank goodness.

Tip: Check your teeth in the bathroom to make sure leftover chili flakes and toppings didn't make their way between your teeth before your next class. Also wash your hands to avoid grease stains on your textbooks, it would probably decrease the re-sell factor, if the bookstore even takes them back at that point.

Favorite!! I'm a huge fan of their fire sauce and whole wheat crust.  This is one of the more pricier pizza eateries Isla Vista has to offer, but definitely worth it when you feel you're deserving of a spicy pizza treat.

Lunch special with slices that were pretty dried out and
Leathery.  Also, while I get the "college pizza dive" atmosphere, the haphazard cables run around the walls just makes the place look like a dump.
And $7 for a couple slices is no special. Overall, I'd say that the Woodstock's tradition was let down pretty badly today.

I'm typically a fan of thick pan pizzas, but Woodstock's has made me reconsider thin crust.  But what I like best about Woodstock's is the sauce  - to me the mark of a good pizza is not the cheese but the sauce.  While so many pizza shacks are skimpy and give you a meager pasting of bland tomato sauce from a can, Woodstock's slathers on well-seasoned thick pizza sauce all the way up to the edge of the crusts.  Another mark of a good pizza is how great it tastes served cold out of the refrigerator:  Woodstock's performed well on this test, but I still prefer pan crust pizzas as leftovers.

I was wary of the dessert pizzas (generally I stay away from fast food desserts)but  was pleasantly surprised by apple cinnamon bread, which is sugary and sweet but not to the point of making you ill.  Best of all, the Cinnabreads are great to refrigerate and have as morning breakfast treats.

I love this place.  If only every pizza joint could have local brews, huge pitchers, and cheap prices!  I can't remember how many nights I spent here, but I always woke up happy... somewhere or another.

Oh, and the pizza's great too.  Try the mushroom and swiss.

I like the mural on the wall near the TV area. OK, so now to the food...

Yeah, the pizza is pretty good, and it's not too greasy. If I were back in town again, I would gladly eat it if it were sitting on a friend's table, but I don't know if I would suggest a special trip just to taste another slice.

Bottom line: Not a pizza person, but Woodstock's is worthy of a visit from someone who is one.

Nothing on this planet cures a bad case of the 'spins' like Wild Bread.

Say...do you miss me as much as I miss you?

I've gotten so drunk here I don't remember what the hell was happening. That was when they still sold pitchers (of newcastle), and IV didn't suck so bad. the Pizza is pretty good too, I like the garlic bird.

Also, for the longest time they had Addams family pinball, so extra star for that. I love that pinball game.

So my buddies said this place deserves two-stars; but I gave it three.  Okay, 2 and a half for the pizza, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

    What I liked about Woodstock's:

    -  Great hangout place, you'll notice time will fly by a lot quicker.
    -  It isn't Freeb!rd's and it's in IV.
    -  Awesome deals/coupons.  The cashier might even just hook you up.
    -  If you look close enough, Dave Chappelle (hah) is on their take-out menu.
    -  Cheap beer and desserts.
    -  There's also a mural of "Where the Wild Things Are"

As soon as you place your order, grab a fork (yes this will be put to good use, as things could get messy), hope you can find a booth, and wait.  If you come in late at night, the parlor could get dirty and might even smell bad.  I want to say it smelled like beer (which is fine by me) but it actually hinted toward 'thrown-up' beer.

Our IV Classic (see pics) came out overcooked.  The onions were toast and the cheese wouldn't stick to the pizza.  If you don't use a fork, you'll be finding yourself trying to make stars out of the cheese like a rubber band.  My first bite of the pie was all cheese, and I was left with nothing else but bread and sauce.  Maybe next time I'll just stick to a plain pepperoni without the extra cheese.

They forgot to give us our CinnaBread dessert; but they actually apologized and upgraded the size to a large.  Thumbs up for that, and for the dessert as well.  It was served hot, and decorated with brown sugar, cinnamon, and icing.  Maybe a bit sweet for my taste buds, but still good.

Final Mood:  Confused.  "Voted UCSB's Best Pizza 17 times."  It's definitely a great hangout place, but maybe the food tastes better when you're drunk.  An anonymous person however, suggested I yelp Giovanni's...
