5 reviews for Woodley Lakes Golf Course
So basically you come to this place to work on your game, find your faults, and to try out new clubs. Don't expect beautiful scenery, well-kept tee boxes, manicured fairways, or smooth greens. Do expect a good value, though. And as many have mentioned, the course is wide and flat, and sometimes noisy due to the model airplanes buzzing around. The best part about Woodley is the grass driving range; you don't see those too often at public courses.
PS. The girl who works at the bar serves a damn fine martini.
Playing at a course like Woodley Lakes makes me miss living in the suburbs. Not living in Downtown LA, my golf choices of courses to play are quite limited. Just Griffth and a bunch of short, not well maintained courses.
Woodley Lakes is quite different than other municipal courses in the Southland. Good facilities, tournament-like conditions and a nice looking course to boot. Wide, woodland course that has the distance to be difficult but is wide enough to be easy.
Rounds are cheap within the $25-$50 range, depending if you want to get a cart or not. The range is a little out of date but they have grass tees, which is great. The teaching pros there are top notch with cameras and computers to help your game.
There seem to be a lot of courses in the valley. But for a muni, this is the best. Play here to make your LA golf experience complete!
Nice course, my friends and I call it "Widely" due to its forgiving width per hole. Not too many obstacles, but a good course to play. Extremely humid and hot during the summer with a long wait so be prepared for a 4-5 hours round. See local celebs from time to time and enjoy a cold one while youre playing cause when it gets backed up, its backed up.

A wide, flat municipal course. No much of a challenge, but playing golf is better than staying at home ! Great track to test new clubs, or work on a new swing. The big drawback is that there can be a lot of duck 'do-do' from the ducks in the nearby lakes and noise from the model airplanes. Worth a try.
long, wide open golf course located right by the encino/balboa courses. very flat and not much by way of a challenge, so it is a good course for beginners.
also not as crowded as other muni's, most likely because encino, balboa, and the van nuys 9 hole courses are so close.
