After running around all morning and dealing with school by the time lunch time came around I was starving. I got home and tossed all my stuff down and left to meet Janice C for lunch. We decided on Woodhouse because it would be easier for her to get to work from there.
We started off with oysters as an appetizer and for our main courses Janice had the crab cakes and I had been anxious to try their fish and chips. I went for the 3 fish strips instead of 2 because I didn't know how big they were going to be. I figured they would be small, boy was i wrong! http://static.px.yelp....
The fish strips were crisp and full of fish! there wasn't emptyness inside YAY! Janice gave me a lil taste of the crab cakes and it was yummy, we both agreed that the chipotle sauce that was drizzed on top could have used more of a kick but noneless it was good.
Its was nice meeting Janice after reading her reviews and chatting with her on yelp. We had some awesome conversation and I would love to hang out with her again :)

It was a pleasure having lunch here with fellow Yelper Jonathan W. Between his school/work schedule and my work/work schedule, we finally found time to meet each other in the real world.
We decided on Woodhouse Fish Company due to its proximity to my work. (I swear, work gets in the way of EVERYTHING!) The positive reviews here on Yelp were a plus as well.
For appetizers, we had 6 oysters priced at $2 each. Fresh and plump, it easily slid down my throat. I enjoyed it with a squeeze of lemon and dash of tabasco.
Not long after we finished our oysters, our waiter brought out our entrees. Fish n' chips for him, crab cakes with salad for me. I've been jonesing for those crab cakes the night before while I was perusing the menu online and they didn't disappoint. 3 crabcakes, about the size of a hockey puck, pan fried and drizzled with a chipotle mayo sauce. Lightly browned crust with moist, real crab flakes (thank God no fillers!) with a little zing from the sauce. Generous spring mix salad with cherry tomatoes and beets.
Their beer battered fish had a nice, thick, crunchy crust. Those babies are huge! 3 strips is definitely enough for a meal, piled atop a mountain of skinny fries.
Our waiter provided okay service, except he forgot to fill our water towards the end.
What a pleasant lunch on a beautiful day. My only complaint was I had to go to work after!

Lobster roll is amazing. Try it whenever you visit.
Also, I'm a big fan of oysters, I came by on a Tuesday night when it was dollar oysters. My sister and I loved it. We ate about $50 worth of oysters, it was fantastic. Definitely coming back here again.
MMmm, fish and chips, Tuesday dollar oysters and lovely, sweet strawberry shortcake - need I say more? Done! ;)
We had a great time here last night catching up with a couple friends, and we were lucky to hit this place on their dollar oyster Tuesday - these were so yummy - dare I say yummier than Hog Island! Woodhouse's oysters seemed heartier and tastier - hmmm! We'll definitely be back for these.
I got the ono fish with risotto cake, and this was quite tasty, but I think I preferred my bf's fish and chips. Luckily he got 3 pieces of fish as he gave me one - YUM (and I kept reaching over for more fries)! The fish batter was crispy and fried just right, and we loved their tartar sauce (I still finished all of my meal too, plus had a taste of clam chowder, full full, yum). Our friend got the "fribs" (fish that's cut to look like ribs), and that looked pretty good too!
And the topper was the strawberry shortcake w/ fresh whipped cream!! Mmm! I'm not a big dessert person, but this dessert was gone in seconds - more please!
Our waiter was super friendly and made our dining experience very enjoyable -- we will be back!
2 dozen oysters+dinner+dessert for 4 divided by 4+tip+tax = $35

1 dolla oysters and a stool @ the counter: what's more a girl to ask?
Strolled in 'round 9 on a tues post-cinema, needed a little protein and ended up with zinc as well (oysters pack a serious nutrient punch!). Easy service, great lookin' menu (i am SO all over the stuffed artichoke on next occasion.. how do they put so many all star ingredients in one place? did they dream of my delight?)
Also had the crab cocktail (sauce on the side..) which was yum, though I can always do with more of the meat.
Didn't sample the wine list on this occasion as we were both @ tail end (the power of positive thinging-- the END) of a cold but will be back for some bubbly to compliment the food de la mar al proximo. (What it is about yelp review that make me break into random languages, only the gods know..)
Solid, easy spot in Pac Heights where the window shopping aint even tough on the wallet ;).

I had a good fresh dinner. The oysters were good and I really enjoyed the halibut. I sat at the bar and had good service once my waitress found me. I would highly recommend this place, but be forewarned, the menu is limited.
I've been here about a dozen times since they opened, and the quality has dipped just a touch. The stuffed artichoke (which used to be my fav) has come soggy, wet, and inconsistently grilled/cooked/sauced the last few times. The lobster roll, while still delish, seems to be getting smaller and smaller every time. The fish and chips are still pretty solid. The cioppino was overly spicy and salty and the seafood was overcooked when I had it last (a few visits ago).
However, a couple nights ago I dined there with a girlfriend and while the artichoke was not the greatest, we got a black cod special, and it was cooked to perfection: crisp skin, super tender white meat, all over some braised fennel bulbs, broccolini, purple potatoes, and sprinkled on top with delicious deep fried bits of fennel. That dish was a true winner. It's hard not to like this place (Chad one of the hosts is super nice, and Shelley one of the waitresses is just a pleasure), and it's easy to see why people (including me) keep coming back.
Drinks: Arnold Palmers and Lemonades are pricey, but come with little carafes of simple syrup and carbonated water (tea if it's an AP), making it a fun delight to mix it yourself.
Plus, I'm down for supporting all the neighborhood restaurants on this side of Pine.
Loved it! Great service, very nice decor, excellent oyster, and to top it off my 15 month old polished his plate. I could not ask for more! I must also add that the fish and chips and crab cakes were yummy.
Hey woah, this place was pretty GD delicious. I was a little put off at first by the fishy smell when you walk in, the prices on the menu, and the fact that since I've only recently become a fish eater, there was a lot stuff that I'm still not quite down with eating (mollusks, I'm looking at you).
They have really reasonably priced wines by the glass, which I really appreciated. The mains might be a little spencier than I had anticipated, but are on par with most SF restaurants and portions were huge.
I had the special - a Hawaiian ono with a soy glaze and some baby bok choy and risotto cake. I tried to be good and ignore the risotto cake, but I caved. It was delicious. The pickled onion garnish was a perfect complement too.
I also got a chance to try the pecan crusted halibut with maple thyme butter and some tasty gratin potato dish.
Service was quick and friendly and we walked out pleasantly full but not stuffed. I will certainly be back.

I do not deviate from my go-to fish and chips at Woodhouse. They are just that good.
I did manage to persuade the bf to deviate from his usual with an order of Fribs (fish ribs). Those things are awesome! Who'd have thunk there was a fish that could produce such a remarkably meat-like flesh? Rib sauce, coleslaw and all...
Also, had never had the bread pudding thing and that alone is worth coming to Woodhouse. HOLY crap that stuff is amazing.

A 5 star restaurant in my book. Super fresh fish, and awesome dishes.
I went to Woodhouse right before my flight out of SFO, and I only had 30 minutes. I told my waitress this and she worked out the meal like magic. We were out of there in 25 minutes.
Clam Chowder = Prolly the best I've ever had. Beats the Wharf IMO.
Crab Cocktail = Wish there was more crab... It was just that good. Stunning dish. Never had a crab cocktail before, but it works out as well as shrimp.
Fish and Chips = Whooo-weee. The beer batter is so clean and the fried fish is perfect. Bite it and it's juicy and steamy. Chips? Perfect shoestring fries. So damn good. Put some malt V up on it.
and last but not least...
Lobster Roll = Got the $26 one. It had maybe 4 5 full claws up in that piece. Buttered, cheese crisped toast with that cool, creamy lobster meat. So good makes me wanna give daps to the chefs back there.
CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! and try the cioppino*!
My boyfriend and I live pretty close to this restaurant, and we've walked by it a thousand times. But we didn't get around to trying it because we were pinching pennies, saving up for moving into a new apartment. Well, last week, we found a great new apartment, and the budget worked out so that we could start eating out again.
So, my boyfriend and I were walking on Fillmore, and it was chilly evening. So we decided to try the Woodhouse Fish Company because it was too cold to have sushi. We ordered the half dozen oysters, cioppino for me, and the fish and chips for him. For dessert, we had the apple crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The oysters-- very fresh. I loved the cioppino with the big slices of garlic bread. My boyfriend liked his fish & chips-- crispy and fresh. The apple crisp was really good with candied walnuts in the crumb topping. My boyfriend said it was really cute to see me digging into the cioppino and working on the crab legs because I was concentrating so hard to get the last bits of meat.
It was a delicious meal with big portions, so we ended up with leftovers. I was surprised that the tab was only about $70 with tip.
While we were walking home, I was feeling really happy and full. We have a great new apartment, we just had an awesome meal, and my bank account wasn't drained empty. Life was good, and I felt really lucky.
Then we walked by two polite panhandlers, and we struck up a conversation. They were older men who were brothers, and they were very cheerful and polite. My boyfriend asked me if I had any small bills, and I went to my wallet to dig out $3.00 in cash. Then one of the brothers said something in passing-- something like, "We'd appreciate anything. We just want to get some food."
And my heart broke. They don't have a home. They don't have food. They don't have all the wonderful things I was enjoying that night.
So I asked, "Do you like cioppino?" So I gave them our leftovers and $3.00 cash. As we walked out of earshot, my boyfriend asked if I was okay not having the leftovers because I had obviously enjoyed the cioppino so much. I smiled and said, "Yeah, this just means we have to go back soon."

This place simply kicks ass. We were in a hurry to get to a show down at the Fillmore but only had about 30 min to eat. Nolan our server busted on the line cooks and they produced perfectly cooked:
- Lobster roll - bursting with lobster, awesome buttery toasted roll
- Fish and chips - not too greasy, moist rich cod
- Ipswich clams - a mix of texture/flavor of clams and oysters
- Tomato salad - great vinaigrette
in no time flat. We agreed, they sure know how to fry stuff here. The fries that came with our entrees rivaled that of Bouchon in Yountville and one of my other faves Joanie's in Palo Alto. It might not be the cheapest place for a quick meal but it's definitely a highly tasty one. I need to return for a longer meal and I know there is some chowdah in my future.

i don't know about you, but i love scaring small children. with that said, we came here because the octopus decoration, with its tentacles branching out to the exterior from within was enough to send my 2 year old octo-phobic niece into a clawing/ climbing/ whiny fit in my arms. what can i say? i'm a big fan of immersion.
and it's been awhile, but i agree with phoebe p. regarding the lobster roll-- totally overseasoned for my liking. words cannot convey my disappointment. but for the price, you can be damn sure i ate it all. shiiiet. :) the fries were spectacular, and the arnold palmer i ordered was perfect because it came with a separate serving of lemonade and simple syrup to add to the iced tea, so it was all DIY and fabulous.
the SO ordered the 1/2 dungeness crab and she was mmm-ahhing during lulls in her thorough dissection-extraction method. she also had clam chowder, which is better than most in the bay area.
maddy was enthralled by the flat screen tv's slideshow and ate various bites of clam chowder, oyster crackers, fries, and strawberry shortcake. i guess the dessert was good, because she forgot all about the octopus trauma. :)

Great spot! Tuesday is $1 oyster night... not to be missed!
I got a special de-jour which was seared ono atop a very interesting fried "risotto cake" with grilled boc choy.
The food was divine, and I'd say the portion was perfectly sized. My ono could have spent 45 seconds less on the heat. It was very flavorful, but perhaps the tiniest bit on the dry side (which I'm told is hard to do with ono, such a naturally moist fish). Perhaps a follow up visit / review will tack on the final star ;-)
Decor was upbeat, modern, and fun. There's a neato slow-moving movie-frame thingy that reminded me of Mr. Rodgers picture-picture playing a loop of maritime stuff -- neat touch.
They've also got plenty of great drafts for you beer lovers.
I highly recommend Woodhouse Fish Company if you're in the mood for seafood -- you won't be disappointed!
Went there on a Saturday on a friends advice. Good Choice!
Had the lobster roll, they put a lot of lobster in there! Comes with fries and slaw. Even the fries were good, slaw is slaw. Gf had the crab melt, which I don't recommend, it's good, but tiny. Fried calamari and cup of clam chowder, gf had the combination clam chowder, half New England and half Manhattan style, it tasted good too. I just had the regular New England style, which I was fine with that. I also had the Arnold Palmer, when they separate the lemonade and ice tea so you can mix it yourself and simple syrup. I saw other things I wanted to try the next time. Yes, there will be a next time.
I have recently tried the 'fribs' - whoa, these are good!
They're actually quite deceiving. They are 'fish ribs' yet look similar in shape and size to baby-back ribs. But they are, in fact, fish ribs. The sauce/glaze on them is quite delectable and each rib has about 3 long, thin fish bones and the fish falls right off.
These are served with cornbread and cole slaw. The two times I've had these, I've substituted vegetables for those. The first time they came in a dinky cup; the last time it was a plate almost full of them!
Oh! And I also got the Manhattan clam chowder this past time. Super thick and chunky - just like it was the very first time I had it! Nice kick to it - one of the best I've had!

My friend and I went here late on a Sunday afternoon just to try the lobster roll and we weren't disappointed! The roll was soft and just lightly toasted and it had a HUGE mound of lobster. It also came with some tasty matchstick fries and a small side serving of cole slaw. Paired with a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc, it was a perfect meal. In fact, I literally ate everything they served me (except the wedge of lemon). I'm posting a picture and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about...just looking at it makes me drool!
It wasn't too crowded when we were there and the service was friendly and attentive, so we'll definitely be back! (Maybe for that $1 oyster Tuesday that I saw on the menu...)

I heart seafood as much as the next person so imagine my delight when I heard of WoodHouse Fish Company. My friend has been raving about them for their dishes like they were the best invention since chocolate cake so there was no way I wasn't going to give it a try.
I came in on a random weeknight and there was a wait. Well, it is Fillmore afterall. What do you expect?
After about 30 minutes of waiting, we were finally seated in a tiny two top in the middle of a crowded room. Did I ever mention I detest close knit tables with a PASSION? Oh wells.
We ordered:
Crispy Calamari
Fish & Chips
Crab Cakes
The crispy calamari was fried to perfection and served with tartar sauce and marinara(?). It was good but nothing to write home about.
Although I didn't get to eat the fish and chips, it looked so delicious in all its glory. Huge crispy pieces of fish with a hint of fresh squeezed lemon, dipped in a creamy tartar sauce - it was enough to make my heart skip a beat...in a good way!
The crab cakes were stuffed with crab and all things tasty, just the way it's supposed to be. There were more crab than there were filling and it was dressed with a nice, spicy chipotle sauce and paired with a crisp, spring salad.
Even though it sounded like everything was fried (in this case, it was), the meal was surprisingly light yet fulfilling. Everything was solid but in no way was it earth shattering the way some people made it seem...All it is is good, solid seafood dishes made well to taste good.
Originally I was going to give them a 3.5 star rating but because of our awesome server, they deserve 4 stars! She was quick, attentive (knew when to come back to offer me a 2nd glass of wine), friendly, outgoing, bubbly, full of smiles...basically EVERYTHING A SERVER SHOULD BE.
go girl!
We wandered in for a casual lunch, and were immediately seated with menus. Everything looked so good we had a difficult time deciding what to order. I had my heart set on the cioppino, but the server sold us on the pacu fish ribs. What an ingenious idea, to cut fish into ribs, baste it in bbq sauce and grill it like it's turf-wandering counterpart?
My girlfriend and I agreed the cioppino was delicious. Hearty and more substantial than some of the thinner broth-type cioppino's we'd tried in the past, and loaded with all manners of marine goodness upon which were placed two slices of garlic cheese broiled toast. SO GOOD!
The fish ribs were just as tasty, and we were surprised by how moist and succulent they were. The server had described them as being like swordfish, but they weren't as 'meaty'. I'd say the texture was between swordfish and black cod. Firmer than cod, but there was a little bit of that melt-in-your-mouth quality too. The bbq was perfect with just the right bit of smokiness and tang. The only thing we didn't touch much of was the coleslaw.
And you have to try the fruit crisp a la mode if they have it as a special. The plump berries were nice and sweet with the buttery crisp topping daring us not to dive face-in. Fresh out of the oven, it was absolute heaven!
A pleasant lunch experience with solid service!

-fast, friendly service (good people)
-maybe the halibut (18-20?)_or lobster roll(15?) would have been better.

Came here last Saturday night after a day of oysters at Hog Island Co north of Marin. We walked along Fillmore and was looking for a place to have dinner. We passed by Woodhouse and noticed how clean and busy it seemed. The word 'fresh' came into my mind, so, we decided to try the place out. The wait took about 10 mins and we ended up at the counter.
We tried the calamari and the clam chowder initially. The calamari was good although the chowder wasn't as good....
For our main course, we had the Crab Melt Sandwich and the Fish & Chips. They were both good and the crab melt concept was a good one... tasty. The Fish and Chips were good, but, I had gotten tired of it after eating a bunch of battered squid for appetizers.
Overall, this place is great for a casual out. I would definitely return as I look walking along Fillmore and within the city.
Recommend!

I took my parents here slightly before the rush on a Thursday night and were seated quickly by the window. There was a wide range of selection considering it was a relatively small menu. The stuffed artichoke was halved and served with crab and shrimp. The crab cakes were moist and just the right flavor and consistency. The au gratin was delicious as well. A nice solid restaurant boasting fresh ingredients and incredible flavor.

mega lobster roll w/ fries and cole slaw: $26
-salty, salty, salty, salty! i dont know if the chef was having an off day, but everything was SUPER salty! i didnt taste the natural sweetness of the lobster, at all. three stars because we did get a lot of lobster in our sandwich.
-served in a nicely buttered and toasted roll, but sadly, ive had better at old port lobster house!
-fries were perfectly crisp on the outside! complimented the roll very nicely.
crab louie salad: $15
-large portions, lots of crab. dressing wasnt too overpowering. again, crab was salty!
pretty pricey, about $64 with tax and tip (FOR ONE). wouldnt come here again for the lobster roll, maybe to try their crab melt. i would probably stick to old port in redwood city for my lobster rolls from now on.

While reading through the other Yelp reviews for this place, there's one thing that caught my eye - Lobster Roll. After I saw that, I was pretty much sold on the place. The actual sandwich lived up to all the attention, and I'm just a sucker for toasted sandwiches.
The clam chowder was creamy, but needed a sprinkle of salt.
The cioppino was excellent and had a good variety of seafood - shrimp, fish, mussels, clams and crabs. The accompanying garlic bread was rich with the cioppino soup. Personally, I would have preferred just a plain cut of toasted bread instead.
I'm excited to go back and try the crab melt and stuffed artichoke.

Came here on a nice sunny day in SF, we tried the Oysters, Cioppino, and Crab Cakes.
There was no wait when we arrived, we had the choice of the high tables/chairs. The waiter was very courteous and informant about the dishes. He constantly checked on us to see if everything is okay.
Atmosphere/Decor - very homey, bright.
Oysters were very fresh. Cioppino was a lot of work, but spicy and delicious. It was filled with so many clams, mussels, crab legs and two sticks of garlic bread. By the end of the meal, I had made a pile of shells that amounted greater than the serving size. It is definitely a cold-day entree. The Crab Cakes were cooked to perfection, the exterior was a nice thin crisp with a moist interior.
It was a bit pricier for lunch, but great food quality so I was extremely satisfied with the price.
My friend and I had a lovely dinner here. The service was terrific, great atmosphere, and food was very good. A great find - I love how unpretentious it is, especially for its area on Fillmore.
I will definitely be returning!

$1 oyster Tuesday!
I was excited to see this restaurant open in my neighborhood. My friend and I took full advantage of the $1 oysters, which were fresh and delicious. My only criticism is that some of the oyster shells were not cleanly shucked, leading to some of the oysters having a bit of shell on them. Otherwise, the oysters were briny delights.
We also shared the fried calamari (yum, accompanied by cocktail and aioli sauces) and a crab melt sandwich with french fries. The sandwich was a bit on the small size but delicious, as were the crispy french fries.
We washed everything down with a bottle of the house white - $19 Fish Eye.
This restaurant is on the quainter side so you may have to wait to be seated. The service was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere is bustling and loud, but adds to the casual appeal.
An excellent addition to the neighborhood restaurant scene.

It's been a few months since my actual visit, but I somehow forgot to post my review. Here goes: we had originally planned to go to Fish in Sausalito, but traffic was bad, it was too far, etc. This place was "plan B". As it turns out, this was much better than Fish. The space is pretty cramped, so we waited ~25 minutes for a table. Not too bad - walked around the neighborhood a bit and window-shopped. We ordered the clam chowder. A must for the husband - he declared their version a top contender. He had the fish and chips (solid) and I had the lobster roll (1 of the best I've had). The prices are pretty good and the service is friendly and prompt. I saw some delicious looking garlic crabs and cioppino at neighboring tables. I'll definitely check those out next time.
LOVE this place!
LOVE the 1 buck oysters on Tuesdays!
Reminds me of a younger sister version of Anchor and Hope.
Was there for gals' night out. We split a nice icy tray of oysters as well as a bottle of the Malbec ($23), reasonably priced. For entrees, two of us ordered the crab melt ($9) which was packed with yummy, lump, crab meat, topped with melted cheddar cheese. Came with perfectly done shoe string fries and coleslaw (could have had a dab more of this as the serving was puny). My other two friends ordered the stuffed artichoke (which she loved), and cioppino (looked fantastic!).
The service was attentive. The place gets heavy-packed on Tuesdays with the oyster craze and we were a bit rushed because of it .
The "ding" ...Taking a full star away for sloppy oyster shucking. Many of 'em had shrapnel of shells that you have to fish out of your mouth - not very attractive or classy.
Bottom line ... look forward to heading back here!

Super tasty, solid weeknight place. The grilled artichoke with crab and shrimp was delicious and huge! I had the second 1/2 for lunch the next day. Hubby had the "fribs" which are fish pieces made to look like ribs and are basted in BBQ sauce. We will be back.
Last night's dinner was just solid. The fried whole-belly Ipswich clams starter was not only generous, but truly delicious! They were tender, perfectly fried and seasoned . A friend who's a seafood broker was raving about it so we just had to try them. He was right !
I finally got to try the cioppino and LOVED it! It had tons of baby scallops, salmon, mussels, clams, dungeness crab, topped with a large prawn and a wedge of cheesy, garlic toast. The broth was just right and all the seafood was cooked properly. The portion was big enough for two. Best one I've had in SF!
Service was flawless and very friendly. She took very good care of us and was quick to get our check when we informed her that we were trying to catch a 7pm showing of Inglourious Basterds at The Kabuki. We were in and out in less than an hour. Very impressive.

You know how for the past 7 years whenever someone would visit SF and ask you for a great seafood restaurant recommendation, and you would mumble something about Pacific Cafe hoping they wouldn't be willing to drive that far and test your reco? Well, fear no more. Woodhouse is great, consistent, and affordable. Finally SF has a seafood place that isn't pretentious, doesn't require sitting outside, and is not in fishermans wharf. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars rather than 5 is that they don't take reservations - I'm game for walk-ins, but not on weekends.

Wow - just wow.
We just got back from a long weekend in SF and this was by far the best food we ate there. I had the Dungeness Crab roll and my wife had the pasta & prawns dish. Both were out of this world good.
Not to mention the clam chowder was the best I've tasted (and I had tasted 3 other highly reviewed clam chowders in SF before eating here) and the Oysters were perfect!
Cannot say enough good things about this place - if you go definitely order the lemonade as they serve it in a very unique way. Even the tartar sauce is awesome!

Came here on a Tuesday for during their happy hour and got $1 Oysters. We ordered 4 dozen. They were delicious!!
also tried the the LOBSTER ROLL: it was a sandwich that came with fries. It's not too big in portion, but it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! The lobster was so sweet, juicy and buttery. It was perfect! I would go there again just to get this. It is as good as all the other yelpers say it is. So definitely give it a try!
SEARED AHI TUNA WITH HEIRLOOM TOMATOES: lovely! the tomatoes were juicy and sweet the tuna was good, but was kind of lacking something in flavor. Can't quite put my finger on it. But it wasn't too bad.
FRIED CALAMARI: still as good as the last time I had it.
For dessert we ordered:
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: not your typical strawberry shortcake. I thought it was good, but the cake wasn't cake like. It tasted more like a biscuit with a consistency of a scone. I'm used to having fluffy shortcakes that are easy to fork out, unlike this one where it was hard like a cookie. It was filled with fresh whipped cream and strawberries. It was still very very delicious, just not what I was expecting when we ordered it.
BREAD PUDDING: SOOOOOO goood. This was the better of the two desserts. It came in stick form and each stick of bread had a somewhat crispy out side but when you bite into it, it's soft and doughy. Went very well with the whipped cream and caramel. This won our hearts over the strawberry shortcake. YUMMY!
Our party was trying to chat it up and enjoy our food, but we felt really rushed. The bus boys kept on tryin to take our plates away before we were really done. They didn't offer a dessert menu until we asked. They rushed to give us our bill. THAT WAS NOT COOL!!!

Small little restaurant that we almost missed, while we were driving around looking for it.

yuuuuuuum! London has NOTHING on the fish and chips here! The fish is cooked in an beer batter which tastes even better than panko bread crumbs. I think it's an Anchor Steam batter. The fries are like a refined McDonald's fry. Not too thick, not too thin. It's $9.50 well spent.
I tried this place for the first time and thought it was pretty good. We shared the Octopus salad to start and it was plated with purple potatoes. The octopus was nicely seasoned and grilled. For my main dish I had the Hawaiian Tombo Tuna special..served on a heirloom tomato salad. I thought they went overboard with the pesto dressing on the salad..making the plate a bit too oily for my taste. However, the tuna was fresh and perfectly seared.
I'd like to try their chowder and fish and chips at a later date.
Maybe it was a mistake to go there with a New Englander; however, I also found the chowder too thick with not enough clam flavor. The $26 lobster roll was overflowing with lobster meat and served in a nice soft roll, but I found the filling a little bitter.
I had their fish ribs at A Taste of Fillmore a couple of weeks ago, and those were pretty tasty.
Overall, I thought that the service was friendly and that they had nice light beers to go with the food. Perhaps next time I'll order something fresher and have a better experience.
This place is amazing!! It is a tiny hole in the wall place with about 8 tables, but we went on a friday night at 7pm and we got a table.
The clam chowder was AMAZING. Best I had ever had! I am still craving more of it.
We had the stuffed grilled artichokes....so yummy!! Stuffed with crab and shrimp, with pesto between the leaves. Then they sit it on a bed of lettuce that has a sweet dressing, and 2 pieces or garlic bread that was tastey.
We also shared the lobster roll that comes with fries and slaw. I don't eat slaw, but theirs was good. The lobster roll had a LOT of meat on it and they but it in half for us to share.
We had 3 items shared, 1 beer, and 1 wine for $63. Better then the dinner we had at Market Stret Grill for $85.
I will ALWAYS go back here.
I would have given it 5 stars, because the food is awesome. But the service is slow and I never got a drink refill. so the last half of my meal was dry. BUT if you like seafood, go there. Its really yummy.
