The thriving metropolis of Madisonville, Texas isn't exactly teeming with lodging options, so this place is definitely worth a stay. It was a little disconcerting when I called the hotel as I was nearing it and the employee told me to keep an eye out for "the Maalox-colored building." However, once I got past the green, I thought this place was pretty cool.
The Woodbine only has a handful of rooms (eight I believe) and it has a great quiet, old-world feel to it. I was impressed that I could make online reservations given the hotel's location and size. The restaurant inside is pretty good as well.
