Not a bad place for barbecue and ribs, pretty big menu and their bbq sauce is pretty good. The only problem I have with chain barbecue places is that they are all the same.
You don't get 'moms special barbecue sauce' like you find in those amazing mom and pop barbecue joints, but I guess you cant ask for much when you live in LA.
I shared the ribs with my dad who is a rib lover and we were both stuffed by the time we were done. They're portions are good, my only suggestion is to watch the sides you order because their portions will fill you up fast! -

Seriously some of the grossest food I have ever had. The meat smelled (tri-tip), the mac and cheese tasted like microwaved frozen food heated up.
The only decent food were the dinner rolls they give you from the start. Atmosphere very busy and loud.
Service was good, nice waitress we had, fast service. Sadly I am rating the food, not the service and the food sucked! -

I've been here twice now. The first time I LOVED it - not one single complaint. The second time was OK..maybe that's because I expected too much...although my boyfriend asked for his burger "medium" and got "rare" in return..I'm not even sure if you can call it rare, it was so pink. But they glady & quickly cooked him up a new burger that was actually medium this time.
The cheesecake is delicious..I definitely recommend it! -

I don't know how to make chicken as bland as they made it there yesterday.
I had the asian salad.... my friend the chopped salad. Both icy cold and bland bland bland on the chicken. Portion sizes were good, the service at the bar counter perfect. -

I ordered the Grilled Balsamic Shrimp with Long Grain White Rice for 14.95. I know I ordered shrimp at a bbq place but hey, that's how I roll.
Their bread rolls are buttery and delicious. It's easy to wolf them all down and fill up on them before the food comes.
The meal I ordered came with a side so I ordered the Smashed Sweet Potatoes which must be sprinkled with crack because it is sooooo good. I can go to Wood Ranch and just order that side and be happy.
The shrimp was good as well and what I enjoyed was the fact that WR wasn't stingy with their seafood. You know you can go to some restaurants and order seafood and they give you like 5 shrimp and fill your plate with everything else. I thank them for not skimping on the good stuff.
Another thing I appreciated was the attentative service that was given to us. -

Yep, I'm a fan!
That's one of the few places in the Valley where everybody in my family eats something - choices made easy.
I like their Trout, Sweet smashed potatoes, Steamed Broccoli (have to ask to barely cook it), Tri-Tip Mushroom soup (I like it with sour cream) and my favorite - BBQ Chopped Salad with chicken & avocado.
Coming here for years, we tried almost everything on the menu. Balsamic Shrimp, Shredded Onions (very thin) and Ribs are very good too.
Always take ranch dressing with rolls - mm, soo good, feel hungry as I write:)
With latest remodeling it feels more modern there, I like it! Hope to stop by on the weekend:) -

Quality food, lovely ambiance/decor and all for a bargain steal.
Great place to celebrate a special occasion--birthday, graduation, job promotion, anniversary, etc.
Great place to set the romantic tone for a lovely date night with a spouse or significant other.
Great place to get together with friends to hang out and eat and drink well.
When me and the boyfriend come here, we usually order the BBQ Combo which offers 2 choices of BBQ'd meats and 2 sides. The tri-tip and baby back ribs are yummy, the mac n' cheese is amazing, and the garlic rolls are a must have! -
Review from Maryam R.
Yummy! Everything was sooooooooo good. So, here's the breakdown:
Bread was delicious although I would have liked some butter with it
Mac n cheese was probably one of the best I ever had
Pulled pork sliders were fantastic especially with their special sauce
Dinner salad was just plain good
Sweet potato fries pretty darn tasty too
Loved it! -

Lets all practice saying "seriously Delicious fall off the bone, finger licking good Ribs"
ready? GO!
"SERIOUSLY DELICIOUS FALL OFF THE BONE, FINGER LICKING GOOD RIBS"!
Now after you've said it come on in and try the ones in Wood Ranch and be amazed at how good the food is here. And you can never go wrong with amazing service!
Start off with their SOFT, Fluffy, tasty, amazing bread, dip it into the BBQ sauce or ask for balsamic vinegar and forget about all the carbs that your consuming. (be careful if you ask for more, they WILL bring it for you, and you might not be able to finish your food unless if you eat like me!)
I have tried the tri-tip... perfection
Baby BacK Ribs... YUUUUUUUUm
Beef ribs.... soo worth getting messy for
add the corn on the side and put some of their amazing BBQ sauce on it, and just enjoy... but the cherry on top has to be the Sweet Mashed Potatoes.... people IT DOES NOT GET BETTER THEN THIS!!! its sooooooooo goood... everything I think about it, I start to drool!!!!
Drink orders: tried their "Drop Dead Gorgeous Martini" Why wouldn't I? haha.. it was amazing.

This place nothing less than 5 stars. Everything from the cleanliness of the place to the customer service was excellent along with our dinner. The tri-tip dinner was delicious. I ordered it medium And the damn thing nearly dissolved in my mouth with each bite. It was so good I can't stop thinking about it. I ordered it with a baked potato and black beans. The bread that is served prior to dinner is smothered with butter and garlic. It is served warm right out if the over. Don't come here and expect to be a cheapskate and not spend a little money. This place is decent when it comes to pricing. I would have to say this is one of my top 5 places to have a good dinner.

How good is their sauce? Perhaps the best BBQ sauce in town and certainly good enough to earn a 5th star for the meal.
i ordered the western tri-tip sandwich; which is a thick sandwich served on a French baguette with provolone and au jus. It was quite yummy. I liked the thin (but not to thin) slices of stacked meat. There were plenty of crevasses for the aujus to seep in. After dippping I squirted the sauce on almost every bite.
The mac and cheese side order rocked too, as did the basket of garlic rolls.
Even though it is a chain I am looking forward to going back.

Champagne vinagrette dressing is so good!! Since I am a vegetarian and only get the salad it is good to find a fantastic dressing. Thanks to the bartender for suggesting. Love the lemon drops!! The Veggie Burger is good, but a little too salty.

I am not a big fan of BBQ so when I came here I ordered the prime rib. It was so good! It was perfectly tender and salty, just the way I like it. They also give you a large bowl/container of au jus compared to other restaurants. I like my prime rib drowned in au jus.
The Caesar salad needed more dressing but I didn't care too much for it to ask for more dressing. The pesto rolls were harder than usual but I don't care for the rolls either. The only bad part of this dinner was that my baked potato came out later so I was already halfway done with my prime rib. By the time I finished dressing my potato the last half of my prime rib was cold.
My sister ordered the pumpkin cheesecake and it was gross. It came out partially frozen so it was more crumbly than creamy. The best part was the whipped cream and candied pecans. I am not a big fan of pumpkin so I don't care much for it.
I would definitely come back for the prime rib. I just hope my baked potato will come out at the same time. Sadly, prime rib is only served during the weekend. -

What's not to love about Wood Ranch Northridge. Always the friend service and great food. Just a problem with seating and waiting on a table if you come during peak hours and you have a big group. We actually were seated after only about 10 mins for our group of 10 (but tables side by side, split tables).
The food is great here and I always usually stick with their BBQ dishes. They have a big non-BBQ menu also (steaks, prime ribs, etc). Tri tip BBQ never disappoints. Garlic rolls are super yummy and tasty, drinks never run dry and yummy onion stack appetizers.
Plenty of parking in the mall. Friendly staff and hostesses and a clean establishment warranting full stars. -

What happened??? So sad.
I used to love eating a Wood Ranch BBQ. Their peanut cole slaw and and tri tip sandwich was my favorite. I ordered it last night and it was so disappointing.
It was drenched in BBQ sauce.....the flavor of the BBQ sauce has changed. It used to be tangy with the best mix of spices. Last night's sauce tasted like it came from a bottle that had been sitting around too long. Oh, and the cole slaw - what happened to the peanuts. There used to be a ton of peanuts in the cole slaw. The cole slaw was also very bland. Best part of dinner was the garlic rolls.
For $20 dollar for a sandwich and cole slaw and an iced tea - I think I would have better off at Arby's. I like their horse radish sauce. I wonder if Arby's still has dollar sanwiches : ) -

When I used to eat meat, the ribs and tri-tip were my meats of choice. Now that I keep Pescetarian, I love the new Vegan Burger Wood Ranch has recently come out with. It's better than always ordering the Portobello Mushroom BBQ Chopped Salad all the time. The garlic rolls are AMAZING with some BBQ sauce on the side. I've always been a fan of the Shredded Onions. Though they are completely and totally fatty, they taste oh so good! To be even a worse fat kid at heart, the Spinach Artichoke Dip is amazing as well. Whether you order the sweet potato fries or the mashed sweet potatoes, they're always fresh and bomb-tastic.
Depending on if you order alcohol -- the bartenders tend to pour heavy margaritas at this location. On the other hand, the Strawberry Basil Martini is also a delicious change of pace. -

Prime rib oh how I love thee lol! So after a little prodding on my part we swung by Wood Ranch this past Friday with an eye on the prize, bf saying that they didn't serve prime rib on the weekends. We went to this location waited about 20 to 30 minutes for a table since it was around 6:30pm and a crowd already there. Got buzzed accidently at 30 minutes in and I was kind of grumpy when she said oh...no not you guys sorry..next group of 3 (helloooo we are a group of two...double vision maybe lol?) Anyway we didn't get called next and well yeah my brows were furrowed at that moment and finally we got called...All that was forgotten when we were waited on, drinks were never empty, neither was the bread basket yum! We did have the prime rib, medium 16oz ...it was like heaven lol. Side of mash and mac n cheese. Perfect meal to share.

Wooo hooo!!!! Wood Ranch FTW!!!! Everything i've tried from this place has always been overfilling and DELICIOUS!!! My friend and I would ALWAYS get the traditional WR Tri Tip steak! Sadly, they have to cook the meat Medium at the least, and it comes out a LITTTTLE too cooked for my taste, but it's still so good!
Their garlic bread is a hit or miss, sometimes they give you the freshly baked bread, other times you get the stale warmed-up bread. But when it's fresh, it's the BESTTTT. It's nice and crispy on the outside, and soft and warm on the inside. Dip it in the WR barbeque sauce, and your mouth explodes with so much flavor!!!
The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the service can also be a hit or miss. Other than that, this is one of my favorite places to go for some steak!!! :) -

OMG! OMG! THE BEST!!
All I can say is Oh My God! This food is the best, best, best! One day I came in with 3 friends and asked my waitress if there was any way she could put a rush on it for we drove directly from Palm Springs and starving just to eat there and she said she would try and I would say about 10-15 minutes later she was back with our food!
I am always one to complain when I am pissed off, but never ever in as many as times as I have been here have I had a bad experience. Yes it can be a little pricey but hey if the service and food is the best then you got your money worth!
I know finances are tight but when you got the money to splurge go here! Definitely in my opinion well worth the trip and the bill for the meat is so good and KFC may use the slogan but I can tell you this place is "Finger Licking Good" Umm Umm Umm! :-) -

I f'ing love this place. Seriously.
Even the free bread at the beginning is bomb. lol. Trying dipping it in the BBQ sauce--very good. Then get appetizers: shredded onions & stuffed potato wedges or whatever they are called are delicious.
I like getting the combos: tri-tip (baby backs if i can get dirty), pulled pork (the sauce they give w/ it aint bad but it doesn't beat the original WR BBQ Sauce), sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes.
Never tried the burgers, salads, sandwiches or fish...probably cuz' the combos are the best!
Alcohol is aite here...kinda overpriced IMO.
The prices have gone up here, but that's the same everywhere else too! -

I love love love their grilled prime steak and gorgonzola topped salad! It is so good. Fresh field greens, sliced tomatoes and crunchy onion straws. Its damn near a perfect salad.
My next favorite choice would have to be the grilled half chicken. The chicken au jus and the fresh steamed broccoli just make this plate better.
Big portions for the right price. Wood ranch is worth stopping by. -

I love the ribs here! Great dine in place when your legs get weary from walking the Grove. Outstanding service and a large variety of entrees to choose from.
Even came here for an office lunch once and the waiter was doing trivia games for free entrees and appetizers. I don't think he expected that I'd be able to name 20 Autobots and Decepticons...LOL. Free steak! Woot woot! -

When I think BBQ, I think big portions of smokey ribs, drenched in a spicy yet sweet sauce, where all the folks have faux bbq mustaches. But, Wood Ranch does not deliver that King-like feast you expect from a BBQ and grill.
The appetizers are good, but I mean most places usually get the appetizers right. Plus, you're so hungry at that point, anything you eat will taste good. The potato skins were flavorful with cheese, sour cream, and bbq sauce. The artichoke dip was good, but it seemed like there was a shortage of tortilla chips. And of course their famous fried onion strings that are super awkward to eat. I hate when I have to contemplate the use of my hands or a fork.
I ordered the tri-tip well done, and it was not tender. The meat was tad bit rubbery, and didn't have that "melt in your mouth" sensation. The mashed potato side was decent, and the mac n cheese looked so sloppy.
The Idaho Rainbow Trout wasn't flavorful whatsoever, but the Buckeye Burger is very delicious.
Their bbq sauce is good, but there isn't anything amazing about this place, so I give it an average 3 stars.
Oh, I loved our waiter. He was so quick with the refills, and very patient with our indecisive party. -

There isn't a ton to say about this place.
The barbecue tri-tip isn't home made, but it is pretty tasty. The beers and drinks are cold. The service is average.
I don't care for many chain restaurants. This one gets a pass though. I always leave full and happy. -

I'm not the hugest fan of chain restaurants in the "steakhouse" genre but this place is definitely worth a try. I've been there twice and had more than friendly service either time. I could tell a lot of regulars go there and the staff seemed to know everyone.
The atmosphere is standard and the menu seems a little fresher than most steak/bbq type places. I ordered a salad and the garlic mashed potatoes both times and was extremely satisfied with the meal (once, you know, you stuff yourself with all the garlic rolls you can eat!!!) -
Review from Jenn C.
friendly service, good portions, nice interior, comfy and spacious booths.
I got the cheeseburger sliders and theyre the perfect amount for lunch. They didn't have tomatoes in it though.. D:
The mac and cheese is just macaroni noodles in a cheese sauce.. nothing too special. no bread crumbs and its extremely heavy so beware.
pretty good. -

Though I don't like dealing with the mall, I will brave the craziness for the food here. Everything I have had here is very tasty and the servings are gut busting for sure.
Favorites are the chicken potato skins (with Ranch dip of course) and the fresh trout (marinated and grilled). The wine list is pretty extensive and so is the beer list.
Tip: The kids meals are a great deal. If you get the rib one I think they bring one or two big ribs, but if you ask they will bring one more (doggie bag time!). -

I love the garlic rolls at Wood Ranch. The meats are great too. My company used to have WR cater luncheons and they are always a hit. The portabella mushroom burger with sweet potato fries is great! Give it a try.

Originally, we were heading to Red Robin but they were closed..(2hours earlier than their posted time)..Oh well! We followed our nose right into wood ranch.Considerably I thought this place would be like Outback steakhouse. Boy, was I wrong.
My husband and I got the shredded onions for appetizer. It was good except I wish they had their own special sauce instead of just "ranch." I think Tony Roma's or Lucille's is better for this..
We both got rib eye. I got mine med-rare, he got his med-well. The steak was actually cooked to our desire!
Both came with side and soup or salad.I got tri tip-mushroom soup, he got cesar salad.
We ended up switching because the the soup was a bit salty for me. The cesar salad was great. Sauce was a bit thick but great.
Over all, I think I'm a fan! -

I usually don't go to Wood Ranch very much, but out of all the ones I've gone to, this one has to be my favorite. Their staff is definitely the friendliest out of all the branches I've been to, and my food is always piping hot just how I like it. The lunch specials here are awesome, so that's why my boyfriend and I like coming here. It doesn't always get too packed, so that's a perk. Dinner time gets crowded quick though, but the staff is always very welcoming.

Wood Ranch has to be one of the best steakhouses around the area. The aged steaks are all scrumptious. The Fillet Mignon, the Ribeye, the Porterhouse, they are all great! The mashed potatoes are so creamy and full of flavor. The place is not cheap, but the steaks are worth every penny. That is not to say that it is extremely pricey either. It is a great price for what you get.
Moving on to the BBQ, GREAT! The ribs are "fall of the bone" tender. They are so juicy and flavorful as well.
Location is key for Wood Ranch. It is right around the corner from the mall and there is a movie theater right next to it. This is a great place to bring a date. The ambiance gives it a very personal feel and the service is good as well. They have a good selection of wine and a full bar to enjoy some drinks. Check it out! -
Review from Jackie K.
I love woodranch! Whenever I come here I always get the bbq chicken salad with the dressing on the side. The portions are huge so either people should share or always expect to take some left overs home for the next day.
I order party platters from woodranch too and they are very good. I usually order meat, bread sticks, mashed potatoes, and corn. It is soooo good and the amount they give is so so much! After our parties, we always have left over food that lasts us about 2-3 days! I do not know if woodranch takes reservations, but call just in case. The wait can be long if you come during rush hour. -

Wood Ranch, Wood Ranch, Wood Ranch... What can I say, I have fallen in love with you. Granted you have some flaws but nothing big enough to keep me away forever.
Pros- The BBQ Chicken is always delicious. No matter if I order the coleslaw or the potatoes, I am never disappointed. And not to mention such a smalll price for the location.
Cons- The employees seem a little inconsistent with the information. I had one employee tell me mall employees will receive 10% discount if they order their meal for pick-up and another that said that offer is exclusively for dine-in. But 10% off such a small bill doesn't push me one way or another.
All-in-all Wood Ranch, you have won over my heart and my stomach.
