Dr. James Norwood is the bomb! I found out about him through our neighbors who work in the medical field. They refer to him as the "doctor's doctor." I'm no MD, but if they trust him, so do I. It's been the best recommendation for both my mother and I. James Norwood specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is the coolest because:
1. He's really easy to talk to
2. He's pretty much always on time
3. He's hilarious
4. He's super speedy and gentle when doing exams
5. All of his nurses are super friendly and kind
I actually kind of look forward to getting my annual exam if I'm coming to him because I know it will be quick and painless. Plus, he's so funny. At my last appointment, when I got on the table (awkward) he said, "Well, I see you haven't gotten any piercings or tattoos." And then told me some really funny stories about piercings he's seen. It's nice to be able to laugh when you're in such a compromising position.
I am an extremely happy patient of Lindsay Stephens, one of the midwives practicing here. Lindsay delivered my baby girl in May after a long (LONG) and difficult labor.
Lindsay took the time to get to know my husband and I, to know what we were looking for and helped us achieve our goals. I felt very safe in her very capable hands. My labor went 25 hours (16 unmedicated) and I was still able to avoid a c-section because Lindsay knew what she was doing. My daughter had the cord wrapped around her neck 3 times and Lindsay's quick thinking and calm manner ensured Josie was healthy.
All of that aside, she's got a really good, if not a bit warped, sense of humor. We totally felt at ease with her the whole time. We looked forward to our appointments! She personally returns calls each day so you feel really connected with your care provider. She'll spend as much time as is needed at your appointments to ensure your questions are answered. It's SO different than an OB/GYN.
The other midwife, Jane Singer, is also fantastic! Either way, you can't go wrong with this practice. I was examined by one doc there, Dr. Plank, and she had a great bedside manner and it seemed like tons of respect for the midwives.
In Labor & Delivery the nurses LOVE Lindsay. A good thing when they're your lifeline for many MANY hours.
I go to Dr. Kurian at this office and I am very happy with the level of attention and service. Everyone is friendly and helpful and addresses any concerns you might have. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new girlie-doctor.
