I love to support local business, so that I get to do that in this fashionable little corner of my neighbourhood rocks my world.
The clothing, accessories and artwork are all so fantastically selected to represent the best this city has to offer. Trendy without being absurd. Quality construction all around. And at reasonable prices to boot.
The owners are super cool and the staff all incredibly friendly. Zero pretension. Just a sincere desire to provide a vehicle through which local designers and artists can be seen and promoted as though by a close girlfriend.
Yes, yes, yes! Go here! Shop! -

I understand fully that homemade crafts have to be pricey! I get it I just don't feel like paying for it all the time. However, I have paid for pricey jewelry at Wolfbait and I'll do it again. Some things I won't pay for though. Their Logan onesies are so so cute and being pregnant and living on the square I so want one for my baby but they are way to expensive and since the little one will wear it 3x if I'm lucky I really refuse to pay that much for a white onesie that says Logan on it. I'll go back there and spend my hard earned money on their other things though :)

The owners of this spot are way to cool for words. They're super hip and they beat to a drumb they probably made themselves. They're super nice and humble with their talents.
hey're totally Bohemian with good old fashioned values and great customer service skills. Their custom made clothing happens just over the counter so you can see what they're designing and sewing right there on the spot. As if that isn't enough to make you want to check them out, these talented, dog loving, text hating entrepreneurs allow guinea pigs to hang out while you shop.
The selection of little trinkets and gift items includes T-shirts and accessories and hand made hats and funky jewelry. Go. and check em out. End of story. -

Jenny, one of the owners, was in the midst of dress-making when we strutted in. She warmly greeted us as we meandered through the candyland of lovelies. Wolfbait stocks goodies from Chicago artisans - yay to supporting local!
Jewelry, belts, screen-printed tees, accessories, paper goods - so much awesomeness to choose from! A few reviews mentioned pricing, however if you keep in mind that most wares are original & handcrafted...you're getting a good dealio. Speaking of which - there's a 20% off sale coming up on the 20th, when I'm a comin' back for more. -
Review from Rachel H.
This teeny, but awesome shop has a variety of clothing and accessories by local artists and crafters. Even stuff for babies. Babies do need clothing too, who knew? The jewelry was particularly cute, and I found it pretty affordable. I bought some earrings which incorporated images from vintage postcards. Sadly some of the clothing was a bit steep for me these days. I did see a very adorable jacket though. Back to the thrift store for me...
The girl behind the counter was great and we had a lovely discussion about fall sweaters and hoarding.
A million stars for carrying my friend's stuff, Revolutionary Lemonade Stand. -

This has to be one of the raddest stores I've had the pleasure of discovering. I was in town covering Riotfest for Racket. My girlfriend, not surprisingly, told me I should bring her a souvenir. While she probably would have been happy with a snow globe (in fact that's all she kept talking about), that's just not something I'm into.
I asked myself "how can I find something cool and chic that is Chicago specific?" I pulled out my phone, opened the yelp app and did a search for shopping/women. Wolfbait & b-girls was one of the first two results. I started reading reviews, and what do I find they sell? Why, clothing and jewelry made right in the windy city by Chicago artists. Can you say gold mine?
I knew this was the spot. Caught the bus down and stepped in. an unassuming storefront, two wonderful ladies chatting away about this and that. I start perusing the biggest clothing rack, and it doesn't take long before I'm offered some assistance. They ask what occasion brings me into their store, and upon hearing, the help gets really good. They're asking what her likes are, what she's into, etc. I tell them I'm leaning toward jewelry. They show me all kinds of cool stuff. One of the owners offers to drop 20% off an expensive necklace to keep it under my budget, which she previously asked about.
Ultimately, I decide on a kickass necklace, a set of earrings to match, and a set for everyday wear...they're 38 special bullets...total price? $100.97. Is that expensive? Not really, considering the limited quantities in existence, their origin, the fact that they're handmade, so on and so forth. The owner modeled the necklace for me, went over the numerous ways it can be worn twice so I could remember to show the missus. I just can't say enough about my experience...I will be back, probably every time I return to Chicago. -

First off, let me start by saying that I am a Chicago textile designer and am completely thrilled with Wolfbait.
I think the most amazing thing about all these negative reviews is the people complaining about a women owned, independent business being bad for the area.
My polish grandmother has been living in Logan Square off the blvd since the 1930's. She still lives in the same house. When she heard that she could go see her granddaughters art work at a store within walking distance she was thrilled. She didn't say "oh, how terrible for the area". We walked there together, and she finally saw that all those years of art school taught me something.
Gentrification isn't as easy as people want to make it. And reading that people are so upset that some smart women, started a business in this area blows my mind. It also blows my grandmothers mind that people are complaining about progress in an area where she once almost took 1,000 for her house because it was so dangerous.
Thank you Wolfbait for being such a fantastic contribution to my neighborhood! -

SUPPORT ARTISTS! BUY LOCAL!
This place is small but particularly awesome because it's only carries items made by local Chicago designers, printers, crafters, artists and jewelery makers.
It's a great place to buy unique gifts, nic nacs, soaps, tshirts, hats, accessories, purses, tshirts, cloths and more.
Yay for Chicago!Listed in: Logan Square - my 'hood

What a cute shop for custom / unique women's clothing! If they had more for men than just t-shirts, I'd be giving it five stars, no doubt!
Super nice staff, really cool vibe, awesome designs for that special woman in your life -- or for you special women! -

I. Love. Wolfbait. The store only carries Chicago designers of clothing, jewelry, accessories, stuff to hang on your walls that will make you look cooler than you are, whatever you need. And the two owners each have their own lines that they design and sew themselves right in the store!
too cool. -

Funky and fun stuff! I went in to browse thinking that the clothes weren't really my style...but I ended up finding a few pieces that I really liked! I didn't have my wallet but I will go back to purchase some things the next time I'm walking around the 'hood.
I loved these cute little shoes they had with laced up ribbons. So cute but a bit out of my price range. They look like they are not very comfortable, but they are damn cute to look at! -

Liked the unique and reasonably priced jewelry. Fell in love with several handbags/designers--will be going back to stock up later this summer!
The clothes, however, seemed almost an afterthought--and not as fashion-forward as I would like--or maybe too fashion-forward! A lot of the pieces were designed to be "inside out." it is difficult to justify spending a couple hundred dollars on a piece of clothing that might only be good to wear to a show the one time a year your band is in town.
The artwork on the walls is also for sale--and changes every 1 1/2 months or so. -

What more do you want if you're a Chicagoan? Local artists artists and designers making clothes, jewelry and accessories (like nice hand bags/purses) without the pretension of chain stores that fluff their reputation with sexually suggestive ads nationwide (yeah, I'm talking about American Apparel). This place is run by two cool girls that have been in it since the beginning, have given their livelihood to the neighborhood and make sure you're getting quality Chicago-made goods at a reputable price. There's no mass-production, no, cheesiness and no replication. It's Chicago. On YOU.

Eh. If I made $15K more/year I might be able to afford most things in this place. I came in to check out the jewelry, specifically the necklaces, and found them to be $42 for plastic beads and fake gold. If I knew where to find the plastic beads they used, I'd just make the damn thing myself for about $7. And I know how much time it takes to make something like that, and it's not $35 worth of labor.
I like the idea of stores like this, but in general, I find them to be extremely overpriced (I'm talking about a lot of things at Renegade, too). But I guess we can't all be rich.
Next up for me: learning how to sew! -

Awesome local shop with amazing designs and jewelry. As far as I know, its the only "Chicago only" shop in town.
The owners are super friendly and helpful, and I have gotten many great pieces from here.

When I need a gift for birthdays, babies, or graduations I walk to Wolfbait & B-Girls. I like to give my loved ones a gift of Logan Square. Something with a soul and a spirit. Job interview -- off to Wolfbait to select a unique piece of jewelry to boost my confidence. When my purse was stolen I cheered myself up with a standout handcrafted wallet. Wonderful neighborhood resource. We're definitely spoiled in Logan Square.

What a great shop...run by some of the most suprising, sweet, and creative women around. Like a cooperative, but more integrated. If you get lucky on your visit, the owners may be celebrating a birthday, a holiday, whatever, and offer you a taste of what they're having. Last time I went in it was sangria...

2 things:
a. great bags, purses, etc... the chicago handbag company goods are sold there. texture, hip, cool designs. the clothing is really cool and if you are looking for something special and unique there's a good chance you'll find it here
b. my company held a party there recently - they provided wine and we brought some food in. we designed our own shopping bags and everyone left with something personalized that they could use. nice idea! -

Their clothes may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the girls are always friendly and helpful to those who come in and say hello. Intelligentsia has created a delicious brand of coffee just for them, and they sell bags of that too (cheaper than anyhere else I've seen Intelligentsia, I might add). My regular purchases include the coffee, art, and handbags, all uniquely Chicago and all warmly received by those I've gifted. They also offer classes such as silkscreening/printing on occasion; I took one with a friend of mine and felt like a kid again, only drunker, as there was plenty of wine to go around.

I have been in this store a couple times and always found really really cute stuff that I could really really not afford. I'm sorry but this is why I shop at places like H&M and Target. I wish I could afford to populate my wardrobe with locally-produced clothing purchased at a privately-owned store, but alas, it is not so.

Super Cute stuff. I can never find pants to fit my boo-tay, and I found 'em here, so I bought 2 pair! Lots of funky & unique jewelry & other stuff. They do classes occasionally & they sell out fast!
The concept is very cool, too - all local designers. This place rivals any of the persnickety boutiques on Damen in Bucktown or Armitage in Lincoln Park. Better, down-to-earth service, more interesting stuff in more-realistic sizes (though they could have a few more shirts for the busty gal). If you are going to spend some dough on fashion for well-made, interesting stuff that you won't find anywhere else, you should spend it here. -

Loved this place!! I was visiting the area and on my way to the Logan Square Farmers Market when I stopped in. Found all kinds of awesome unique items and picked up a few gifts! Love that it showcases local Chicago based items/artists. I also loved their styling- the store was super cute!

This is a great little boutique right on the square. The shopkeepers are friendly and fun. They sell original, handcrafted clothing and jewelry, some made by them and some made by other local artists. I didn't buy anything on my trip there yesterday but they have a massive selection of earrings, and I will remember this for the future when I "need" more pairs.

Been in here twice, heard Jets to Brazil playing both times. I don't think I'm cool enough to converse with the employees, but props for opening your own store...I guess. I still get a giggle out of the name Wolfbait, because my old roommate and I used it as a euphemism for poo. Who's laughing now?

Logan Square doesn't have much in the way of boutiques so I was surprised to see this awesome store in my neighborhood. It's like Renegade Craft Fair year-round. They have a large selection of jewelry and purses along with a few racks of clothes. Everything in the store is made by a Chicago-area designer. An owner was there during my first visit and told me that they produce their own line of women's clothes. The clothes aren't quite my style but they're cool to look at. It's definitely worth a visit to take a look at what fellow Chicagoans are designing.

Super cute selection of clothes for people of all ages + excellent knickknacks and jewelry. AND they do a beautiful free gift wrapping job upon request! Owners are funny, cool girls. Some of the stuff is a bit pricey for my range (which makes sense since it's all locally designed), but if you look around, it's easy to find something cute & reasonable. Highly recommended!

Here's a cute little shop to find Made In Chicago goods you didn't even know you needed! We were greeted on a Saturday morning with complimentary Wolfbait blend coffee and had a great time looking around the store. They have a wide range of items for varying tastes and budgets. I found the quirky little shrinky dink jewelry very entertaining, as well as uniquely illustrated greeting cards with blank speech bubbles to personalize each one. You can pick up some neat gifts and feel proud to support local handmade arts & crafts.

I only wish we had more boutiques like wolf bait in logan square. I went to buy a gift for a friend's birthday and ended up getting the gift AND myself a few things. It's the type of shop where you find something you love, you buy it and it's the item that others always comment on. Why? Because it's not H&M or Target.

Jewelry, accessories, vintage, clothing, and such. There seems to be too many sales associates and the store itself isn't big enough as it is. You can mosey around, but you'll have people breathing down your neck.

Talk about another unique and cool shop. So I'll be honest I only buy their accessories.
They do have some cool pieces but most of the clothes runs pretty big. So I don't even try it on, but I have found some extremely unique and cool wristbands and necklaces for myself and my sisters.
Check it out you might found yourself some unique pieces as well! -

I LOVE this store. first of all, everything in there is chicago-made. the goods range from clothes to handbags to shoes to jewelry, greeting cards, & all kinds of fun stuff. there's a nice price range as well, so you can grab a couple little things or splurge on something fancy-dancy. the women who run the store are super nice, and the place is friendly and fun. definitely check it out.

I wish there were more little shops in Logan Square like this one. It's totally great to walk into this space with so much to look at. Whenever I'm waiting for brunch at Lula I come in to stroll around and check everything out. I've bought a nice tanktop over the summer which I received tons of compliments on, a nice skirt and some jewelry as gifts. I'm not always into the clothes, I'm a bit more boring than what they offer, but I always have a fun time looking. I want to try one of these classes I hear about.

Cute little store in the heart of Logan Square. For the most part the clothes and jewelry are for women but it's a nice place to stop by and get a gift for the person you care about. They really do have a wide variety of stuff hear from clothing, jewelery, purses and on and on. Stop by the next time your in area, and make sure to say hi, the people are very friendly their and deserve a good friendly hello.

TOTALLY CUTE! When I stopped by one time they had kids playing out front drawing chalk outlines. Budding young artists! The owners are so friendly, and I love the unique stuff that you can find in here. I absolutely understand that it costs more to have local designer pieces, but unfortunately my budget can't really afford the prices of the one-of-a-kind items. However I think people who are looking for some really cool clothes and gifts should check this Logan Square place out. It's worth a visit!

i love this store. everything they sell is handmade by local artists and designers. you will buy clothes that are unique and chic. what's not to love?
i give it 4 stars because i've been there twice and couldn't really afford to buy any of their clothes, but there is always something there that i want to buy. the accessories they sell are affordable but for a college student like me who is relatively poor, i can't afford to buy such luxurious items. need to fill my belly first before anything else.
not only do they sell one of a kind clothing pieces, they also offer a sewing class. you can learn how to make your own clothes! they can also make tailor-made pants for you. for a shorty like me, that is something that i can really appreciate. -

I'm all about local, and, as it turns out, so is Wolfbait! After moving to Logan Square, this is one of the first places that caught my eye. Once I dug around inside, it was clear that, for my tastes, it was a treasure trove--particularly where accessories and home decor were concerned. The service has always been laid-back and friendly: helpful without being pushy or following you around, which I think is the perfect mix. I've found some really neat things in here, and I already have a mental wish list of things to buy for myself and my apartment once I've got a little more dough. At my last visit, I picked up an awesome handmade headband that I just couldn't resist, and I'm not even a headband wearer. I should change my tune, as it's probably one of the most complimented pieces of my wardrobe. Also of note: their stationery/paper goods are perfection, and the El stop canvases to hang at home will be mine someday.
