I'm gonna have to disagree with anything negative about this place... It's a casual, yet trendy spot to go for asian cuisine (note- they don't claim to be a chinese restaurant solely). I think this concept is genius... they've got this restaurant thing in the bag!
It's a comfortable atmosphere- reasonable prices- great design- and staff is friendly.
Beef pepper filet mignon... beyond amazing.
Tiger Roll... hits the spot every time.
Yeah- so maybe not top grade sushi-- but for those of us that don't wanna spend $200 a person to dine at Katana, it's graded high enough!

bored of hotel room dining?

It is hard finding a late night spot that delivers good food.  Fortunately, I found Wokcano in Downtown LA.  This place stays open past midnight and provides delivery up to 1AM.

I went with their recommendation of the miso soup, black pearl tempora sushi roll, and the singapore noodles with chicken and shimp.

Miso soup was packed with flavor, not watered down and full of seaweed and tofu bits.

The black pearl tempora roll was ahh-ok.  The tuna was over cooked from the flash frying.

The Singapore noodles with chicken and shimp had great flavor from the curry and the green onion stems added a great texture element to the dish.

The best part had to be the white chocolate dipped fortune cookie that came with our delivery order! It was a sweet surprise at the end of your meal.

Ordered delivery from Wokcano last night for the first time. I had high hopes, since I have heard good things in the past. Ultimately it was a letdown.

We ordered the crab fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, peking duck, and three soft drinks. The total was $68.59. That's THREE ENTREES and 3 12 oz cans of soda for SEVENTY DOLLARS.

Small portions for the price is a major gripe. The food is totally fine. Very reasonable American-style Chinese food. Unfortunately, entrees are 10, 15, and 26 dollars respectively and a can of soda is magically 3 bucks. Wokcano also charges a "packaging fee" if you get the food delivered.

The 26 dollar Peking duck? It was about half of a normal-sized portion. My girlfriend called to clarify we had gotten the right portion when it arrived and they assured us that was it. Really unfortunate considering there was nothing special about the preparation, and they use cheap, overly sweet duck sauce. The duck itself was fair, but the pancakes were very chewy. Overall, thumbs down on that dish.

The honey walnut shrimp was excellent. I recommend it. Again 15 dollars is a little stiff for the portion Wokcano provides. But it really is tasty.

I was expecting a bit more excitement from the authentic crab fried rice. This dish has a lot of potential, and if prepared properly can really wow a table. Unfortunately the crab wasn't the freshest and as fried rice goes, it wasn't top notch. There are literally thousands of restaurants in LA that make better fried rice for half the price or less.

Bottom Line: Wokcano charges a premium for their decent chinese food. I can only speculate that they have an incredible dining room and the prices reflect high overhead. I recommend trying somewhere else for your chinese take-out and delivery needs.

I am all about honesty and only writing positive reviews.  I was taken here on a date and he told me someone suggested this place as the perfect "date" place. I will disagree.

First and foremost we were greeted by not (1) but  (2) snotty stuck up girls wearing skirts so short you could see up the skirt as they walked us all the way up the stairs to the 2nd floor. We were later greeted by a uptight waiter. He had such a dry boring personality. Instantly he carded me for a drink, I joked about how young I looked and he didn't crack a smile. Thought maybe we caught him on a bad day?

I asked him what he suggested in regards to martini's or drinks? He said " I don't know" we have a full bar?? I asked for the korean drink and he said oooooooooh we don't have that one. Ok, I will take an apple martini.  15 min later my drink arrives. another 10 minutes later he comes back to take our order. 30 min later 1 sushi roll arrives. I thought is this for real? The place was dead when we arrived. By the time our first sushi roll arrived the place was getting busy. We had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for each roll.

Sushi was AMAZING!!!! I will say this because I know good food.

This place would have gotten 5 stars if the service didn't suck so bad and a personality in a nice place would have been nice.  The bus boys paid more attention to us than our own waiter, its a shame that the tip goes to the dry boring waiter.

I do not suggest this place for a date, No privacy and

I've only come here twice before but I loved it both times. I don't remember the sushi names but I know all of it is so delicious. I wouldn't say it is cheap.. it's sushi after all. But the quality is good, the taste is delicious. I remember my friends and I really enjoyed it a lot!!

I went on a weekday night and it was pretty empty so finding a table was really quick. Don't let that turn you off. Just because it's empty does not mean it's not a good restaurant worth trying. :))

My favorite part,  and I believe my friends can agree, was the fortune cookies. They are gigantic sized. And wrapped in pretty colors of foil. The ends of the cookie are covered with yogurt? I don't know what it was but I LOVED it. I normally don't eat the fortune cookies but these were really cute and tasty. Well.. I might have just been blown away by the cuteness. HAHA. (I'm a little amused with color.. :)) )

anyways. sorry if this wasn't much help.. but if you're a sushi fan. try wokcano. it doesn't matter what sushi you get. everything sounds gooooood.

So after about 3 beers and some sake, my friend and I suddenly got a sushi craving around midnight.  Where do get sushi at this hour she asks? Answer: Wokcano...even better,  there's a Wokcano in downtown? Awesome.

Wokcano's pretty much got So Cal covered for locations past midnight (Westside, Pasadena, Downtown).  Moderately priced, the sushi here won't wow you but it will get you through to the next day satisfied.  The sushi bar itself here was closed when we arrived but you can sit in the bar and order from there.  The sushi we got was pretty good, better than the Pasadena location.  The bartender was pretty friendly and there was a decent crowd coming and going even past 12 on a schoolnight.  The basic rolls, unagi, yellowtail and cooked fare were ok and we didn't have any complaints.

I found out the hard way why they call it Wokcano.  After my meal, I developed a burning magma of agita in my chest and belly.  I took an antacid when I got home but it was too late to stop the eruption of hot molten lava that eventually came shooting out of my asshole.

I've never had a problem like this with sushi joints before, but then again, I've never had rolls as heavily bastardized and smothered with as many sauce concoctions as this place.

Enough with the fusion menus already.  Seriously, man, you're gonna hurt somebody.

I really enjoy Asian-fusion cuisine and when my hubby told me about Wokcano (about few months ago), we decided to hit the spot up. Okay so it's a Saturday night around 10 PM...just a newlywed coming out from the movies. Anyways, the place itself is modern, small, and cozy.

I ordered the miso soup, Cali roll, my hubby and I shared the Crispy Orange Chicken and the Loveboat for 2. I really liked all of them, especially the orange chicken. Spicy, tangy, and juicy. The prices, however, are pretty decent.

I used to always hit up this spot on a late Sunday night.  I think they're open til 1am on Sundays.  Don't quote me though.  The restaurant itself is very nice.  I like the atmosphere at night.  The decor is more modern with dim lighting.  The food isn't the greatest, but they have their moments.  I tried their sweet shrimp (amaebi) sushi and it was pretty nasty.

This place is different from their Pasadena location, and this location is a better romantic/date spot.  The Pasadena one is more for groups and getting rowdy and obnoxious.

I'd go back here... if I had a date.

Wokcano is a part of what I call the "geishasploitation." A misappropriation of select aspects of Asian culture. The joint is eye-pleasing: dark corridors, bamboo, minamalist art. It's like someone took several Asian aestethics, blended them up, did shots of the mix + threw it all up. I have some serious qualms about the geishasploitation of fusion joints like Wokcano. So why does the food have to be so damn good?

This is NOT authentic Asian food, so don't expect it. They have great fusion dishes that are always delectable. The pan-fried chicken dumplings are a tasty start. I've never had the sushi here, but have heard positive things. I usually order the spicy garlic chicken with broccoli + onion. It sure clears out my sinuses! The ingredients they use are always fresh + high-quality. The [white meat] chicken is always vein + bone free, the garlic has a nice kick and the broccoli + onions are cooked to where they retain their flavor + crunch without feeling like frozen packaged veggies. SO. UNBELIEVABLY. GOOD.

Their delivery minimum is outrageous! $30 minimum? C'mon now!

I've never had a bad experience here, but I feel like people are being fooled into believing that by going to Wokcano they are getting an authentic Asian food experience. Not true. It's like laughing at jokes that poke fun at select groups of people. You know you shouldn't be laughing because of the stereotyping/hatred behind the joke, but somewhere deep down inside you enjoy it. However, that said, this is one of my FAVORITE spots in Downtown to go for a co-worker's birthday lunch. I'm torn like Natalie Imbruglia.

Definitely inauthentic Asian food... but Chinatown is two miles away, if you're really all about authentic, go there. It's a nice place, beautifully done-up, with nice servers and a chill vibe. The food was decent, not a homerun, but definitely worth checking out. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. The pad thai and shrimp chow fun were just pretty basic. Not bad. Not good. The sushi was actually quite nice, and again, the place makes up for average food with everything else it offers.

Wokcano claims to be a hybrid of all Asian cuisines.  To me, this translates to a jack of all trades, master of none.  Their sushi is mediocre as is most of their food I've tried.  It's GOOD, but their prices are almost offensive for what you get.

One item I do absolutely LOVE is their calamari appetizer.  Ugh.  So not healthy AT ALL when coupled with the creamy aorta-clogging sauce, but just do yourself a favor and treat yourself.

I've never actually been inside this Wokcano, but I order from them very regularly.  (Sushi delivered to my fucking door?  Hell yes!  I don't even have to put on pants!)  It usually takes about an hour, but it's never been longer than that.  If anything, they come early.  The one time that they misplaced my order or something and it didn't come, I got a personal call from the manager who offered me 20 percent off, which I appreciated and obviously accepted.  I was still damn hungry!

One of the few non-sushi items I've had is their pad thai.  Don't.  Bother.  Compared to real pad thai from thai town (I'd kill a small child for some right now), it's bland and lame.  Like a microwaved Marie Callender's version of pad thai.  (Shut up you know you've eaten their microwavable chicken alfredo!)

In conclusion, it's good.  It really is.  But it's not GREAT.  It's way too expensive for what you get, but the food LOOKS pretty (If that sort of thing matters to you), and seems like a great date-type place.  Maybe that's why I've never been inside.  womp wompppppp......

Sincerely,

Single and Sushi lovin' in Koreatown

I really liked having drinks and sushi right around midnight. Wokcano was exactly what I was looking for. The girls at the bar made a really nice Martini.

The sushi was ok but the sashimi was fresh! It was like it still had a hint of ocean fresheness.  If you know the difference between farm raised fish and wild fresh then you understand what I'm talking about.

The onion pancake and the crab wontons are amazing!
The roll that are offered are really good as well.
The Spicy Crabmeat Tempura roll is yummy!

The service great and everything next time I stay Downtown  LA I'll be back to Wokcano.

Came here late last night after my girlfriend got a midnight craving for sushi. In spite of my mediocre star rating, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the place: Is this the same Wokcano that, when I was a freshman at USC, plastered the entire campus with their poorly designed delivery brochures? Well, even if it's not, I thought it was... So I was expecting a cheap and chintzy restaurant.

What I actually got was a dark and sexy interior and a varied and delicious-looking menu. The only things we actually ordered were a cup of miso soup and a Red Dragon roll--what's up with getting food-specific cravings when you aren't even hungry?

Oh, and I got a Sapporo... A large one. The thing is, I wasn't expecting a large one, and when the waiter brought it he said that was all they had. This tidbit would have been nice to know while ordering. Further, I wasn't expecting it to cost $8.50.

The second star gets chopped for the service generally. Yeah, I realize I was in there at midnight, but here's my thing about late night restaurants: If you're not going to stay upbeat and enthusiastic until closing, then close earlier! No one is forcing you to stay open until 2am. The general attitude for which I subtract a star was embodied perfectly when our waiter asked us, "You're not going to order anything else?" as his way of closing out or meal.

Fine sushi, but from now on, I'd skip the late night dining experience and stick with takeout or delivery.

I give it a 4* because they are hands down the best place to deliver from if you live downtown. I've eaten there a few times and it's great but we delivery from there way to often for words. It's like our locals version of PF Changs, minus the major corporate backing (i think, I hope).

I do agree it gets pricey but portions are big for entrees so it's easy to share. We started ordering what we wanted (ie: MUNCHIES!) and every delivery was close to $50 for 2 peeps and too many leftovers that don't keep well. Now we have mastered our favs and keep it down to $25 for 2 and still some leftovers.

I would give it a 5* if they were consistent. Not horrible things but stupid things like forgetting special requests and forgetting those dipped fortune cookies, ARGH!!!...What a "f" over moment when those cookies aren't there. Yes, Wokano, you missed a 5* because you forget the little things too much.

Look here's the bottom line, I never have fun when I come here.
Ive been to Wokcano's Happy Hour three times and every time the experience leaves something to be desired.
The bar and smaller dining area are cramped, the bartenders are kind of dismissive and unenthusiastic, the apps are average at best.
Last time we were here we had the chicken wings which were not good and the short ribs, which were way too sweet.
As a sidenote I gotta say it's way annoying to be near the servers' station and hear them bitch and complain about work and their personal crapola.
Overall the service leaves a lot to be desired and after three unsuccessful tries, I'm out.

So for the last 4 years at USC, I've been constantly receiving flyers for this place advertising its take-out. I've never been, but as per my usual reaction upon receiving flyers in my car windshield, I assumed this place was a ghetto hole-in-the-wall. Well imagine my surprise when my friends and I went here last weekend and it turned out to be this swank sushi bar.

It may have been because the place wasn't packed, but the service was extremely attentive and quick. We didn't have to wait long before they had our sake bottles and food flying in front of us. We decided we wanted to try as much as possible, so we went family style. The hit list as follows:

Spicy Maki Combo (6 Spicy Tuna 6 Spicy California Roll 6 Spicy Salmon Roll) - Tasty but really tiny. Half the size of a regular roll. Sadness

Spicy Garlic Chicken - Good, but not memorable.
Mongolian Beef - My selection for the evening. Naturally, it was the best.
Honey Walnut Shrimp - I've never been a fan, but they did it well.
Young Chow Fried Rice - Read above
Pad Thai - Quite tasty, with just the right amount of sweetness.

Overall, everything about this place was good, but not memorable. It served its purpose in filling our bellies and having us leave happy, but it isn't a place that I'd ever have a craving for. If you're looking for a moderately placed nice looking restaurant to eat one night ($10-12 per dish), I recommend checking this place out.

Plus, they have hot waitresses. It may be shallow, but thats always a plus. =D

Haven't tried any of their entrees, but I came here for Happy Hour with two friends a couple weeks ago (my first HH!).  The seating in the bar area is reallllly cramped and the table is super tiny, so you really don't have much room.  It felt barely comfortable with 3 people.

Service was actually pretty good.  The waitress came to check on us a couple of times.  Drinks were, of course, watered down since it's HH, but for a noob like me, I didn't mind at all.

The food was pretty good for me.  I wouldn't recommend getting any real sushi at this place just as a precaution, but I really liked their tempura crab roll.

I wouldn't mind coming back for HH.

In the neighborhood close to my office.  A group of us made our way over and sat (no waiting) with no problems.  Our waiter was very genuine, even offered one of the girls a "how-to" on use of chopsticks... funny that he seemed to have a couple issues holding on to them.
Mongolian beef, orange chicken and crab wontons.  Mongonlian beef was light on the beef but the orange chicken was great.  Crab wontons, I found myself  "wonton" a little more...  (uuuugh did I just type that?) Sorry could not resist.
Ok for lunch, not too expensive... I'll continue searching...

This place is not good. There's really not a way to sugar coat it. I sat at the sushi bar and the service was non existent. I know you're supposed to order from the chef, but drinks and appetizer were never taken. I had to get her attention. While sitting eating, the chefs were prepping fish. 2 vacuumed sealed bags of Yellowtail filets. Delicious. The tuna I ordered lack color and taste. I only took a bite. The chef asked if it was okay, I told him it doesn't seem rather fresh, to which he responded, "No, its okay." Avoid this place.

Not the greatest, but on the same token not the worst.  Their food is  mediocre to average .  I think the friendly staff is what pushed the 2 stars I gave.  The prices are fairly reasonable, just slightly lower than Takami.  If I had to choose, I'd pay the few extra bucks and dine at Takami.

Their menu is sushi/pan asian.  Its not so pleasing to the eye, as the majority of their menu is sushi/sashimi or a variation of.  They have so many different types and names for their rolls it almost seems cheesy.  Their specialty menu is sparse with only a couple of appetizing choices.  With their great location, super cool vibe, Wokcano should expand their specialty items, decrease their sushi selection and make their restaurant truly pan asian.

My GF and I started with an order of their crab and cream cheese wonton.  Very rubbery and chewy, no crisp to it at all. It was mostly cream cheese filling.  We also each added a soup and salad to our entree.  The salad quite tasty, I loved the pickled ginger they included on top.  The miso soup and hot n sour soup were average, very generic.  It almost seemed like they opened a bag of powdered mix and added hot water.

For entrees, I ordered the peking duck and my girlfriend ordered the seabass.  The peking duck itself was ok, the skin should've been a bit more crispy, the duck meat cooked just right.  The other thing I had a problem with was they served the peking duck with what seemed like thin flour tortillas??? No hoisin sauce was served either?? My GF's seabass was almost inedible.  Its was a really nice cut of seabass, I've eaten a lot of seabass and this was a beautiful piece.  However, it was undercooked, alas it was ruined!!!

We couldn't stay for dessert as we felt our palates were violated.

Bon Appetit'

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there were only maybe 3 other parties there when we arrived. We were seated promptly, but when they took our drink order it took a good 15 minutes for the waitress to come back with our drinks- 4 waters and 2 bloody marys. I asked the waitress if the sushi rolls came in a decent sized portion, letting her know I was definitely on the hungry side, not eating anything all day. She convinced me they were, so we ordered and waited, for no joke, a good 50 minutes more until our food came.

Now, there were 6 of us, and she brings only 5 plates. She says to my friend that his order could not be done by their sushi chef (all he wanted was a different fish substituted, one that they had on the menu, nothing impossible). What? You made us wait over an hour so far, and now you're telling this guy after you've finally brought us our food that he has to order again and wait another eternity? He didn't.

Not only that, I had the saddest looking sushi-roll I've ever seen sitting in front of me. 6, maybe 7 pieces of sushi roughly the size of the face of a woman's watch. I was not happy. Or full. It took me about 45 seconds to eat my meal that I had waited well over an hour for.

Not only that, it took another 20 minutes after we were all finished eating for them to bring the bill. Not to mention, they never picked up our plates or re-filled our water, so I liberally dispersed the party's finished plates on the surrounding empty tables so they were out of our way. They still didn't pick them up, God knows how long it took them to finally do so.

Honestly, if I wasn't in the company of certain people, I would have walked out without paying. As it was, I paid the bill in exact change and left no tip, something I've never done. The worst part was, we were all parked in a parking structure and had to pay $8 dollars a piece more for having to wait so long. I can't speak for everyone else in our party, but myself and the friend who rode in my car immediately after went to Quizno's to get full after that pathetic meal.

Thankfully, the WHACK-cano franchise has yet to come to my hometown. It definitely would not be able to hang with a real sushi-bar, or even Panda Express. 1 star is being far too generous.

I like this place. Why? Because I don't eat REAL sushi. I eat the cooked stuff, or just the lobster and crab rolls. Sorry.

That being said, Wokcano's ain't so bad. I ordered the spicy crab tempura roll. Delish. It had flavor. Must have been the spicy sauces they drizzled over it.

Now for the other stuff. I ordered the peppered calamari, which was GREAT. Crispy and spicy mmmmmmm. The pan fried chicken dumplings were what's expected, nothing too special.

We went for happy hour. The prices are nice. Most items are under $6.00.  They have DAILY Happy Hour from 3pm to 7pm. Daily Happy Hour is my ish!

I'll will definately be back to try the $5 martinis.

***Update***

Went back last Saturday for the happy hour. Ordered a bunch of plates to share. Everything was good.

The lemon drop Happy Hour martini's were horrible. VERY bitter. We had a hard time drinking them. DO NOT ORDER THE LEMON DROP. Blech!

It was surprisingly empty for a Saturday late lunch, hopefully business will pick up.

Note: My friend had the sushi and was far from impressed.  My review is based on the non-sushi part of the menu.

Having tired of the 24-hour IHOP and Subway merely a block away, I decided to walk an extra block away from my hotel (The O, stands for "OMFG Never going back here again") to try out this swanky looking joint with a very dorky name.

I was impressed with the dark wood decor, the tastefully dim lighting, fair wine selection, and the very friendly staff.  The meal started off with the house salad, then hot and sour soup, chicken dumplings, and then the Mongolian Beef.  Everything was exceptionally tasty.  This is like the cooler, revitalized-downtown version of PF Changs.  But so much better.

Warning: They have a great selection of desserts, and I ordered the carrot cake - presentation was AMAZING but the cake was AWFUL.  The waiter noticed that it wasn't a winner and gave us extra white-chocolate covered fortune cookies.   Back to AWESOME!

Side Note: Though I haven't ventured in during the daytime, I'd imagine that this would be a great place for client lunches!

It's mediocre food at a fairly high price. It does have a wide selection, but all the non-sushi food seems prepackaged. The sushi itself would be fine if it weren't so expensive.

All that said, they do deliver, and it's acceptable delivery food.

I've been coming to Wokcano every night for the past month after work for drinks... they have a superb happy hour.. really chill atmosphere and good food...

If youre sitting in the bar area good luck... they come by once in a while when they remember even when its not busy... the bar area is also the loudest area but the happy hour prices are only valid there and they wont let you sit any where else EVEN IF ITS EMPTY & DARK in those areas...

The calamari is like greasy and spicey... it messes with your stomach... I love the lettuce cups but the taste isnt consistent its always different.  Its kind of pricey for the quality of the food and service... but the space is nice and its a lot better than hanging out in the bar on 4th between spring and main!

The high price for mediocre food was not cool. I think you pay more for the decor, because the place looks nice, and the food is more like eeeeeh. Also, don't come in thinking it's a japanese restaurant because it's not...It's more like a mixture of japanese sushi and chinese food.

I went for lunch today, and from looking at the menu, it seems way too expensive and you get very little. A california roll is like $6, and when I was thinking about that, I could have driven to little tokyo and gotten 2 cali rolls for that price. It also seems that most entrees are priced at $11 and above. Too bad they don't have a lunch special, which would have been appealing.

I think the happy hour menu looked better with half off appetizers and cheap beer.

Price and quality both middle of the road.  The food is to be expected, nothing that really stands out.

The fourth star is for the AWESOME happy hour.  Seriously - check it out after work.

I personally think it is a bit over priced to have a full meal here. I can easily ring up a bill of $40 - $60 with a drink, roll, and sashimi + tip. Maybe I should just suck up the LA mark up? Eh.. I'll decide later.

But there are two reasons why I come:
1. Happy Hour
2. Albacore Sushi

And for those albacore fanatics like I am, this place hits the spot. It's melt in your mouth, light, and heavenly! When it's happy hour and half priced with a cold beer, it is THE best looking couple this side of Downtown.

P.S. I never leave without a second round of fortune cookies! ;-) Those fortune cookies have capped off many ends to a good night! The waiters are always willing, so don't be afraid to ask!

WOKANO is a trusted sushi bar. Great prices for their sushi. Sure its not the best sushi out there, but for the prices its a great deal. I believe this is a good place to bring someone to try sushi for there first time.

Can i suggest everyone try the BLACK PEARL... omg this is probably the best thing ever invented.
It leaves a warm sensation on the tounge with every bite. I believe it has crab, tuna, and shrimp.

Most of their rolls are good. the sashimi is decent.

I would def go here for a fast meal when craving some sushi.

Not your typical expensive night out for sushi. If you want to spoil yourself, there are plenty of other sushi bars in hollywood to dine at.

First of all, Wokcano is not a place to go to for sushi- um, it's a Chinese restaurant!!! Go for greasy, over priced Chinese food late night cause nothing else is open- fine...I would judge anyone who said they enjoyed the sushi from any Wokcano location (and I probably would never talk to them again!)

Actually,  I've had better dirty Chinese food from Won Kok late night and a lot cheaper! Hell, you might as well order from Panda Express, it's the same damn menu...

Oh, with all my negative comments, I should say something on the positive side- they have a full bar...so if you get drunk enough-everything taste good!

I'm not a fan of Wokcano and I would think twice before dining there; there are many more better options in the city to choose from...

The reason why this place is acceptable is because it's open late. The food is ok- but this last time I was really disappointed. I think the fact that my friend ordered citrus beef has a lot to do with it...he said he thought he ordered chicken. Well, there's a difference. The rolls are generally okay- however the late night party roll is pretty gross...at least to me.

Came here for Happy Hour on a Friday because my friend works nearby, and it wasn't too busy.  The interior was nice - nicer than I expected.  Happy Hour itself was okay with a menu of a few appetizers and some sushi/rolls.  We ordered:

-Chicken Wings - These totally reminded me of the kind you can get in a Chinese cafe (with garlic and green onions).
-Crab Wontons were okay.
-Spicy Crabmeat Tempura Rol - Pretty large portion.
-Spicy Tuna Appetizer (can't recall the name) - This was interesting and probably the best value.  The spicy tuna came in a martini glass with Dorito Chips on a plate.

The bill came to about $25 for two w/ tip and tax, but we were not completely full.  I'd suggest another location for a more satisfying Happy Hour.

I dined in this time for my second experience at Wokcano. The atmosphere was Great! Very chic yet comfortable. The entire staff was great! The hostess was very friendly, the waitstaff smiled at us when we walked by. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable about the entire menu. Gave us his input, refilled our drinks promptly.
The food was really good! I was a bit surprised that the rolls were so small, but everything we ordered was wonderful. My favorite was perfectly fried calamari with jalapenos and a wonderfully spicy sauce, as well as the Late night party role with scallops and lobster. WOW! Wonderful!
I will definately be coming back soon!

Great atmosphere. For a party of 10 we were placed in a back room. Since it was early (we had theater tickets that night so it was real early) we had the room to ourselves.

You can get normal or specialty rolls, sashimi, or other Asian fare, such as teriyaki chicken for those who do not eat sushi.

Many people at the table split dinners and rolls. I had the Spicy Maki dinner ($15). It came with a generous portion of Miso soup, a house salad, and 3 rolls (18 pieces). It was plenty for one person.

To drink, people at the table had beer or sake or wine. There is an extensive cocktail menu.

The real treat was the fortune cookies at the end. WOW! They cookies themselves were good, but they were half dipped in white chocolate. SO good! The fortunes on the inside were also not your typical run-of-the-mill fortunes. On the way out we each snagged another 3 or more cookies each for the road. Shhh. Don't tell anyone....

It's on the corner of Flower and 7th.  Hard to tell if you've never been there before.  There are a couple of public parking lots/garages in the area.
