Thank God you are gone.
I would rather throw thumb tacks on the floor and roll around in them than listen to your horrible music again.

There is a rumor going around that WNUA will change formats in May to Country and Western!
Please dear Lord say that this isn't true!!!

Seriously?? This is a SPANISH station now? Ridiculous. I had dreams of listening to this radio station while enjoying a glass of wine in my high-rise condo on LSD -- not the drug. Sigh.

Muzac for the pseudo-"I am 50ish and dig jazz because I am so cool" set. I hope I never get that old, that dead, that bland.
Music to vacuum by......
Vacuuming up the cookies I tossed after listening to this station.
The only thing good I can say about this "genre" of radio is that it is too intellectual for the McSame-Palin set.
Milquetoast music for the masses!

My boss at an old job loved putting this channel on. Blech.
This is the channel that old baby boomers put on when they want something they can ignore.

They just played John Tesh's version of Broken Wings by Mister Mister. I'm running out to buy earplugs.

It's like being at a Kenny G. concert in a dentist's office that's in an elevator. Few things are more painful.
Everytime I'm in the car with him, my dad puts this station on. Tuck and roll!

Rides in my parents car turn into psychological torture the minute they turn this crap on the radio. And my Dad won one of their "trips to anywhere in the world" a couple years ago and now I fear they've permanently programmed the station on every button. Seriously, the most mind-numbing, dental office appropriate musical shit ever farted out of a car stereo speaker.
Can you believe a few years ago I would have considered 2 stars!?! Yeah, that was back when they had the uber trippy "starscapes" or "soundscapes" or whatever it was called program on Sunday nights. Tons of crazy kinda new age touchy-feely electronic crap. I'd get hooked on that like I do on Positive Christian Radio- didn't actually like it, but found it interesting. Since they cut it, there's no single redeeming feature of this station. Utter, complete SHIT!

boy, after reading the other reviews of this otherwise just fine station, you'd think that there were more than enough people out there that would come to th rescue of wnua...hey, if this isn't your kind of music, then hey, it ain't made for ya...turn the station back to whatever it is you like, and be content.
that being said, i've been with wnua since after its inception back in late 1988/early 1989, since i was i high school sophomore.....in recent years i don't listen to it much, but when i do, i'm always listening with open ears. that's what being an appreciator of music is all about, y'all. for those with adult ears trained on good sounds and melodies that make ya want to relax and chill, wnua is the station for you....bon appetit!
WNUA 95.5 previously an awesome jazz station has changed its format to Spanish. It is hard to believe that in a major city like Chicago there is no jazz station, Incredible... and sad.
Ah jeez. I'd rather ride the Sears Tower elevator down from the top floor without the brake while trying to shave my legs. Its just baaaaaad. Someone kill me. No, wait, someone kill Kenny G and Robin Thicke instead. This isn't jazz folks - don't let anyone tell ya different. It's a dentist drill, stuffy reception area and 10 year old ripped magazines all rolled into one.

Granted I have to listen to this station all day every day at work. Sometimes the music is good and I tap my feet along. But I sympathize with Paul Rudd's character in 40 year old virgin. ENOUGH Michael McDonald. Seriously. Enough. You went overboard. He can't be the only person who sings "smooth jazz". ESPECIALLY since most of his songs are covers. But what really sounds like nails on a chalkboard is when some guy or girl sings the name of the station out " W N U A 95.555555555555" Can they get rid of that pleasE?

My first radio love is Wxrt; being a long time fan of rock and alternative music, I usually listen to my own mixes, or the great deejays at xrt for witty banter. But I love jazz music - smoky, hot horn blowing jazz. Jazz that you can get in the clubs of New Orleans. Of course, we don't really have a radio station with that type of music, NPR has specials and such, but no pure jazz (at least, none that I am aware of - if you know of one, please share!). WNUA is mostly "smooth jazz", pretty generic, easy listening music. But I appreciate the special programming on this "smooth jazz" station. On Sunday mornings (they used to have this on late Saturday nights), Ramsey Lewis hosts a "Legends of Jazz" special, which is awesome; some nights you can catch the old fashioned stylings of Ella, with a little Coltrane mixed in. I LOVE this special! On Saturday nights, you can catch "Sounds of Brazil", which is what turned me on to my new aural addiction, Brazilian music. Perfect for a late romantic Saturday evening, with a couple of mojitos, blanket, candles lit, and Brazilian jazz playing. Check it out when you are in the mood for some romantic, funky jazz.
