32 reviews for Wine Valley Inn and Cottages
Went there with the lady a few months back for a quiet little getaway. Looked up reviews of where to stay and the WV Inn seemed to be the best combination of price and quality. It is off the main street which is nice, but in a town this small and quiet it doesn't really make a difference either way.
The staff was very friendly and provided us with complimentary tasting cards for several of the tasting rooms in town, along with the tasting that was taking place in the hotel that night.
Our room was a loft, and while there was not too much room to maneuver, having the bed upstairs was nice and allowed us to keep all the wine we accumulated out of the way downstairs.
I would definitely stay here again on a trip to Solvang as it is a nice building and walking distance to everything, which for an LA guy is great/puzzling. Also they have small private cottages with hot tubs, which seemed like they would be perfect for a small group.
My only two negatives:
1. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear everything going on in the halls (including drunk people stumbling in at the wee hours)
2. Maybe this is just the case with the lofts, but the bed was upstairs while the bathroom was downstairs. Not Ideal
This place is located on the quiet side of Copenhagen and we really loved it. We came after the Labor Day weekend and the inn gave us a 20% discount for the room. It is even better than the AAA discount (10% off only.) Lynn was really helpful and she "upgraded" us to a junior suite. She said we would love it and she was right.
The suite was on the ground level (right next to a jewelery store) with a separate entrance which was away from the regular traffic of the inn. It gave us so much privacy. We were welcomed by a little white gate, a cute front porch with window box flowers, chairs and table, and a double door. The recently remodeled suite was big. It has a king size bed, two arm chairs, open vanities for two, flat screen TV and a fridge. The toilet, bath tub and shower room (double showers) were all located in their own separate quarters. We even had a little walk in closet where has iron, ironing board, hangers and a safe. The square footage of the suite was almost twice the size of a regular room. It was very comfy and clean. Free internet access in your room.
Staff was helpful. Once my husband was not able to properly lock the safe, he called the front desk and they sent someone over within a minute. The same morning we bumped into the same staff in the dining area. We started chatting with her who takes care of the wine tasting of the inn on Fridays. She then gave us some brochures of the wineries in the area that she recommended.
Continental breakfast is offered in the dining area of the inn from 7 to 10:30 am. They have cereal, oatmeal, eggs, bagels, waffles, muffins, pastries, fruits, orange juice, cranberry juice, coffee and tea. Walking distance to Mortensens Danish Bakery and Paula Pancake if you prefer something else for breakfast. We enjoyed this place so much that did not bother to look for another inn/motel in the nearby area and stayed for one more night.
The only complaint is that the bed is too soft.
We stayed here for our anniversary weekend getaway... and it's safe to say we will be back! This was the perfect place to head back to after a day of wine tasting.
The room we stayed in was nicely decorated, a bit of a country-modern feel... the bed was comfy, the flat screen tv a plus, I always love a room with a fridge, and the shower... I wish I had that shower in my own house.
The hotel is in a really great location in Solvang... close to everything, but away from the main road traffic. We also enjoyed the FREE breakfast in the morning, that was definitely a added plus for us. There's something about free, fresh, Solvang pastries that always makes me happy.
The suites are spacious and nice the stnd rooms are a lill small. But the localtion is great and the free evening wine tasting and apps is great!
cute place. clean. breakfast was good.
I gave 3-star because of the hallway door. our room was next to it. I'm a light sleeper. door slam-not good. it need to be replace or install a spring on it. The bed is too soft for me so not too comfortable.
Uncomfy bed. No curtains (only mini blinds). Weird angled layout with walkways on 3 sides of the room. Sounds like the people above are going to crash through the ceiling. Mediocre breakfast in a town known for it's baked goods.
The pros:
This is my third stay at WVI. What sells me on this place is the courtyard. Its beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. I enjoy vacations where I can relax, not filled with plans and schedules. I could spend a week here and just relax with my dogs and a book in the courtyard. There's a lot of little things, such as leaving the weather forecast on the nightstand (even though the forecast was for 98 degrees, yuck!) that make the stay nice.
They also allow dogs. I brought my Lhasa Apso a few years ago, and we had a blast. Someone else said that there was a lack of places for dogs to potty. I'm not sure what they expected, there are plenty of grassy areas in the courtyard away from the pond, and there's a huge field across from the inn. If you're expecting gold plated fire hydrants, you won't find that, but my dogs prefer grass, trees and dirt, so we were fine. There's also a pet store about a block and a half away that has boarding and I think daycare. The whole town is pretty much dog friendly.
The rooms are very nice. They're not the 4 Seasons, but it was also only $80 a night. I suggest booking through their website and go to the Promotions section where you will find discounts for AAA, AARP, and the California Dreamin package. The bedding was nice and clean, and appropriate for the weather. Beds were comfortable. Free WiFi in the rooms was really nice (this is new from the last time I stayed there, when I couldn't find WiFi anywhere after 5pm). They also give you coupons for a couple stores around town, which was nice, especially 20% off at Rasmussens. I found the bathroom to be sufficient, not huge, but I showered while my mom did her makeup and we never bumped elbows. Closet is kinda small, but we didn't hang much. There was really good A/C, which is important if you are like me and absolutely hate the heat. I've always gotten the standard rooms, which look out to the courtyard.
The location is nice, within walking distance to everything in town, but away from the busy highway. There are several shops and restaurants within a block or two. I highly recommend Paula's Pancake House for breakfast. Also close-by is the outdoor theater. The visitor center has a schedule and a BOGO coupon. We watched a cute little play, The Spitfire Grill, which was great considering the town lacks night life if you're not into casinos or wine. They also allow outdoor food, so we got Subway and brought it in.
The cons:
The staff is the only reason I'm giving four stars. The gentleman that checked us in (he also helped me with my reservation since it wasn't working online) was EXCELLENT. BUT, the morning after our first night we went to the front desk with a question and a complaint. The room was stocked full of little snacks, drinks and things, but there was no price-list or anything saying if these were free or not (we figured they weren't). We asked about this, and the lady at the desk told us that she didn't have an updated price sheet, but would print some and deliver one to our room. We also complained that the water in the bathroom sink had a really foul odor, like rotten eggs. She said she would have someone look into it. We then left for the day. When we returned that afternoon to freshen up for dinner, there was no price sheet (this wasn't going to ruin our trip, we weren't even going to buy any of it). The problem with the sink water wasn't fixed either, and there wasn't even an indication that anyone had checked it. We brought this up to someone else when we were checking out, and she assured me that someone had checked it, and then called the guy that did it up to the front to "put my mind at ease". He said, in broken English, that no, he checked another room around the corner, not 37. She then turned to me and said "See, he did check it and there's nothing for you to worry about." Really, I'm not deaf. I would have preferred a simple apology for not having it fixed, but got none. Before leaving, we went to the complementary breakfast. It wasn't anything fancy, but I'm not big on breakfast. While we were eating, two employees (including the one that I had just conversed with at the front desk) came and sat at the table next to us and started talking smack about the manager and a former employee. I found this very unprofessional, and found the accusations they were making about the former employee disturbing.
They do put a basket of goodies on the table and stock the fridge FULL of drinks, leaving no room for yours. However, there is nothing that says what they charge, or even if they do charge. The basket does fit in the nightstand, so you can use the table.
When you stand in the vanity area, if you listen close, you can hear the people on the other side of the wall, but not full conversations.
Lastly, the town SHUTS DOWN at 5 or 6, making it hard to find a decent dinner at DINNER TIME!
Despite the cons, I'll be back.
Stayed here on the recommendation of a friend and I was very satisfied.
It's got a great location for exploring Solvang- everything is within 5-10 minutes walking distance which is great for the plethora of tasting rooms in town. The price is not too much and there's also a AAA discount. The staff is very helpful with any questions one might have. They ended up making some good suggestions for wineries to check out which was nice for us as it was our first time in the area. The breakfast is pretty basic but good enough for the start to a day in a town full of amazing bakeries.
The location is excellent, and the village looked charming, as did the grounds around the inn, but by the time we got there, around 5:30pm, the town had shut down. Next time I will stop somewhere else and just swing by Solvang for the pastries.
Starting a trend for this trip, the front desk clerk ignored us when he chose to answer the phone in mid sentence when we were trying to check in, as if we had suddenly gone invisible. Can you at least finish your sentence and/or say please excuse me instead of turning away like that? Yeesh!
The inn was neat, clean and pretty. The standard room appeared large but that was a lot of wasted space. They should have used some of that empty floor space and made a wider bathroom. It is literally only wide enough for the door to open. There was little furniture or closet space and no hooks to place, store, or hang anything. Too bad, because they had nice thick fluffy towels, but you had to double fold and cram them into the only, teeny towel hanger, above the toilet, or they would be hanging all the way to the toilet!
The color scheme was nice but there was no comforter on the bed, just white sheets. I think someone mentioned needing a plunger. It turns out they have weird low flow toilets that take at least 2 flushes for anything, and more for paper or other solids.
They had a biggish safe and an ironing board taking up most of the tiny closet space. There was a little fridge under the bathroom counter filled with "honor bar" drinks, and honor bar snacks in a basket covering the only little table. There was no price list or any indication of what these snacks and drinks were doing in your room.
Afternoon wine is only on the weekends.
The breakfast was as everyone else described, similar to a Country Inn and Suites only less extensive. I did run unto the manager at breakfast and she was very nice. I asked if we went to the nearby pancake house would we have to check out exactly at 11, and she said it was fine to check out a little later, so I did not have to stress out about that, yay!
I was trying to save money but this still cost me $100 for a night, the same thing that someone reviewed only two years ago for $50-something! When even Motel 6s have $80 rates, and yet we are not making any more than we ever did to have a way to pay for all these inflated prices, something is so wrong with the economy!
I really liked this place. Just stayed one night and arrived late. The layout was interesting and we had a room on the top floor which had nice touches like the ceiling that matched the roof line like you were in an attic. It was clean and the price was good and the bed was comfy. The only knocks were that there was no wine opener in our room (wine valley inn in wine country, I had some wine to drink) and the fireplace was not really a fireplace but more like yule log you put on TV.
The Wine Valley Inn was a perfectly nice experience for staying a couple of nights in Solvang. The staff was friendly and gave us a handful of coupons for local shops and complimentary wine tastings around town. They also had their own wine tasting on the night we arrived, which was really nice after settling in to just walk down stairs and relax out side by their fireplace. Very romantic.
Solvang's not a really big town so everything is pretty close by. But they still had a good location. The room was cute. Nothing frou frou, but nice. The shower was really nice and large enough for two, if you want to conserve water. (insert sideways smiley face here) Only totally minor thing is that the advertising billed fireplaces in every room. Ours had a space heater built into the wall that looked like a fire place. But even that was ok. It was remote controlled.
Wine Valley Inn was not a five star hotel, but it met and exceeded our needs for that particular weekend in Solvang.

Have stayed here twice and had good experiences both times.
A hotel that certainly matches the town's Dutch theme, located conveniently a block away from the" main drag" on Copenhagen st. The place is quaint, cute and good if you want to get away for a couple days and hangout with young families and senior citizens for the most part.
They have lofts, cottages and great rooms that are multi storied to give you the feel of more space and openness.
I just stayed in the building in front and my big complaint is that when anyone shuts a door in the hallway it rattles the entire hotel floor (this certainly is not the least bit cool between 6-10am when I am trying to stay in and get some good shut eye).
They are dog friendly and there were no weight restrictions, just $25/night per dog. The only bummer on the dog front is that they don't clean your room even if the dogs are in their kennels in the room.
I did get my first facial at the spa here and it was really great.
If I came back I would get one of the 4 or 5 cottages on the grounds.
And don't let my 3 stars turn you away from the place, it is probably one of the nicest hotels around Solvang. It's just a hotel in Solvang. No way I could 4 or 5 star it, but you shouldn't be disappointed by your stay
FYI: Almost all restaurants in Solvang close super early
I love this place for several reasons. For a hotel in the heart of Solvang its super clean, reasonably priced, modern and has a friendly staff. I've stayed in several different rooms. My favorite is the cottage with the Jacuzzi. I stayed in cottage #2 for our wedding weekend; it has by far the best layout of the cottages. The Village Tower and Jr. Suites are also very spacey. I've used the hair salon as well, it's priced really well too, and they are so sweet.
What a very quaint and sweet little Inn! We were greeted in our room with a bottle of wine and two glasses to keep!
The staff at the desk were professional and the beds were super comfy! (great mattress and pillows were ok)
The weather was perfect to keep the windows open, with a little breeze. The rooms were very clean and very nicely done!
The complimentary breakfast and coffee each morning in the dining room (you can go get coffee and go back to your room) was perfect!
The location is perfect, as it is in the center of town but not on the strip of stores and you can walk to the outdoor theater, dinner, shops and a couple of local wineries! Presidio had good Port!
You will love the town of Solvang, where this Inn is located. A Danish little town, everyone is nice and town is very quiet by 7pm. True quiet if that is what you are looking for.
Book your wine tour with Sustainable Wine Tours-Brian is the best! He only goes to Wineries that he feels are contributing to the environment.
Enjoy and relax!
What a huge disappointment! My family and I stayed here for the weekend to attend a wedding in Santa Ynez. I probably won't come again.
The noise was super horrible. Must of been a 400 lb man running around upstairs every night at 3 am, the walls are so thin I could hear crystal clear conversations in the next room.
They accept pets for $25 extra a night, but there is absoultly no place for them to go the bathroom except concrete and a few small flower beds. My chihuahua ended up peeing next to the coy pond where when I asked 2 service staff standing around if there was someplace else (literally watching me and the coy pond) they both said "No English".
The rooms are quite cute and bed linens were nice but housekeeping needs some training. Sunday morning not 1 but 2 different times housekeeping walked right into our room even though we had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. AND they knocked at 8:30 am yelling "Housekeeping!" which woke us up.
Our keys stopped working the 2nd day and we had to go get them programed twice.
Location was good. Short walk to downtown and the Mission.
The stars are for the bed linens and for the fact they even accept pets, large dogs beware, potty breaks might take a walk somewhere else.
The hotel is not worth it! The room we stayed in did not have a window that could open. The doors were heavy like dorm room doors. The color of the room was bright lime green. The bathroom stuffy and hot was this burnt orange color. The fan did not work, the lights were too bright. The fridge smelled like something awful! The hotel staff was not nice. The free wine sampling was not good wine. The company they work with for wine tours is led by the most depressing man in the universe. Please don't make the mistake I did and avoid this hotel! I hear there are nicer hotels in Los Olivos. We'll be staying there next time.
I love this B&B inn. I was searching online and found their website. The loft room is pretty clean. The design is modern. I love the king size bed. Altough their bathroom is little be small and the breakfast is simple, I still think this place is worth it.
I've stayed here a few times, and a fan of this inn! Very clean, and decor has all been updated recently, so I would look on their Web site to see the new decor. The rooms are comfy and tasteful. Plus it's right in the middle of town and some great wine tasting. The rates are really reasonable, and I personally think it is the best place to stay in the area.
I like this place alot. The rooms vary in size from the standard one bed hotel room to cottages with several rooms. It is clean and conveniently located by Paulas Pancake House. Parking is easy and close to the rooms and they have a nice continental breakfast as well. One nice touch is a wood burning fireplace in every room. I would definitely stay again.
There was a cougar sighting as well.

I was really excited to stay here and we arrived at around 1:00 and were told we were a little early and our room wasn't ready but they would tell housekeeping we were here, call us when it was ready, not a problem we headed out into town to eat and look around. After 3:00 we decided to head back and check on our room since we had not been called. The said our room was still being cleaned and it would be another twenty minutes so we sat outside and waited. When we went back in they said it was still being vacuumed but we could go up anyway, we then stood in the hallway outside our room for about another five minutes till they were done.
The room was nice but has a perfume smell so we had to open the windows and door to air it out for a few hours, since it was windy and cold this wasn't the most fun thing to do. Our room had been remodeled and was nice, had a refrigerator and extra blankets in the closet, no fireplace as was mentioned in other reviews. We also had the toilet clog up the second night, my husband went to the office to let them know and they dropped a plunger off for us to use, that sort of surprised me. It wasn't a bad stay but wasn't anything too special either.
after reading TONS of reviews on the wine valley inn on yelp, i really had high hopes for it. and it's not that i was necessarily unsatisfied with our stay.. it just was Ok. Ehhhh.. nothing to exciting. yes, the front desk was nice and yah it was a prime spot.. but it was nothing that totally wow'ed me. i called in advance to confirm our reservation and i asked if we could check in early (regularly at 3pm) and they said we could. so i was pretty glad that we got to check in early because we got into town at about 1 in the afternoon after an almost 3 hour drive and we were EXHAUSTED!
right when we got out of the car though, all i smelled was new paint. all the rooms around us were getting new paint, so i REAKED of it.
when we got to the room, it was smaller than we thought it would be (but we still loved it), with a fireplace, and newly renovated bathroom with a huge sink, and amazing shower. THAT WAS A PLUS FOR ME! the shower head was not like your normal hotel shower head, it was as big as my face! we had to park in the back parking lot, per the front desk, which i thought was kind of odd because we were RIGHT BY the front of the hotel. the painters were using the elevator to hold all the paints so we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with two carry on luggages. now that was my work out for the day.
we walked all over solvang and noticed it was getting really hot and we were getting parched. the solvang market was conveniently located just walking distance away from the wine valley inn which was very nice :)
we didn't get to do the FREE continental breakfast because i wanted to do Ellen's in Buellton. Mortensen's bakery is right across from the wine valley in which was very convenient for us :) but, i still recommend Olsen's more.
Over all, we had a good time at the wine valley inn.. UNTIL..
we heard a couple the floor below us consumating their love for one another at about 1AM on a MONDAY NIGHT. the phrase "get a room!" doesn't really work in our type of situation!!!!!!!!!
we paid 97 for a monday night with tax for a 3rd floor room with a queen size bed and fireplace. which i thought was pretty descent.. i loved the fireplace! when i tried to call the front desk for more wood, they said that only one was available per stay and they do not encourage us to buy our own wood. O WELL.. we just burned it for fun anyway and the heater/AC worked just fine anyway.
LOVED OUR STAY WILL DEFINATELY STAY THERE AGAIN IN SOLVANG VERY SOON :)
I have to admit, I had one of the best nights at this Inn. We ended up getting the cottage, which had it's own private Jacuzzi in the balcony. The rooms were large, the showers were large and everything was pretty clean. We were right next to the garden so every time you looked out the window it was like being in a whole new world.
I first looked up these hotels on the standard websites, like Orbitz, http://hotel.com...etc. They basically were charging full price for these cottages and they didn't have the Jacuzzi. When I called the Wine Valley Inn directly, I ended up getting a Jacuzzi room for less than those websites...so I suggest you contact the hotel first to see what deals they have.
They gave us a late checkout of 12:00 which was nice. And the location of this Inn is right smack in the middle of everything. So everything is walking distance away.
The only down side was their wi-fi was out due to the high winds...so we had no wireless connections to look up reviews on nearby shops...however we were able to use the internet in their lobby.
In the morning they did have complimentary breakfast which was only danishes, muffins, yogurt, waffles, and bagels. However it was still a fresh start that complimented the good nights stay. I wish they did have vending machines for some late night drinks, however they did have drinks in the frig.
Overall, it was just a great night stay. I highly suggest spending the extra for a cottage...it was such a pleasant experience.
Stayed here for a weeknight 'get out of LA' run. Our room was very nice, clearly just redone. It was tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable. We didn't have a fireplace but we had opted to have a regular room so I guess that's the way it goes!
Overall really great. Fair warning to all those visiting Solvang for the first time: the place closes down EARLY! By 9:15 we couldn't really find anything within walking distance that was open to eat dinner. We ended up going to the Hitching Post which was awesome so no harm, no foul.
Wine Valley Inn has great, reasonable rates! The Chateau Rooms are the right size for a couple - not too big and not too small. Rooms are clean and there are a variety of different rooms to choose from to accomodate your party size and budget.
Once you get there to check in, you'll witness for yourself the old-world hospitality and service. Its location is also very convenient, considering that it's located in the heart of downtown Solvange.
The downside - you can't check in until after 3 pm. So you can't dump your stuff in your room and rest (or take a nap) before hitting up the town.
I loved loved loved the wine valley inn. I was visiting the Santa Ynez Valley for work and booked a suite at the Wine Valley Inn from Monday thru Saturday for only about 100 a day. I was working out in Santa Maria and became concerned that the drive might be too long, and to my surprise, when I called to cancel my room, I was told that I had been upgraded to a cottage! What could I do? I kept my reservation of course and the drive to Santa Maria was not bad at all. I brought my boyfriend along and we thought our cottage was gorgeous...we had a private balcony, a separate private courtyard with a hot tub, a small kitchen, dining room, large living room with a sofa bed, s fireplace and a TV in the living room and in the bedroom. The bedroom was upstairs with a full bathroom. There is a 1/2 bathroom downstairs. I booked the reservation about two months in advance and during the winter season so maybe that's why I got lucky with the upgrade.
The only con is that the rooms are not internet accessible so I had to rely on phone's small screen to view the net.
The inn also gave us complimentary wine tasting passes at the presidio winery. The lady at that winery was very informative and personable. For breakfast we went to Paulas pancake house and it was delicious. We enjoyed the Danish pancakes the most. The food at Angelicas was great but make sure you make reservations. And if you liked the movie Sideways, head 2miles down the road to Buelton and visit the infamous Hitching Post. My boyfriend and I loooove to eat so Solvang was good to us. Just keep in mind that shops do close early, so if your looking to go wine tasting, make sure you get on it by 3 or 4.
Well, I hope you'll find my review helpful and enjoy your trip!

Surprised my husband with a trip to Solvang... and Santa Ynez getaway. It was AWESOME!!! I wanted it to be super special.. however, i didn't lay down the cash for the Suite type room. We arrived about 9:30-10ish in the evening. The front desk guys saw that we were newlyweds, and upgraded us for no charge to the Mack Daddy multi level loft suite... WHAT!!???? It was incredible... we were treated like gold, it is an adorable inn and the area is the cutest! The complimentary breakfast was not too shabby either.

The appearance of the inn is very quaint and cozy with beautiful surroundings. The rooms themselves are spacious, well furnished, and very decently priced. The room we stayed in has a large living room, kitchen, laundry room, two closets in the bedroom, dining area, and a secluded outdoor patio, all for less than $150 a night. The outdoor garden is amazing and lush with vegetation, a peaceful water fountain, fireplace, and outdoor seating. It's definitely a great place to stay at if you're going to visit Solvang. Woohoo! I'd definitely come back again to this place.
This place presents a unique experience of Solvang.
I really enjoyed staying here. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a night on the way from San Diego to San Francisco, and we got a room for about $60 or $70. The room was spacious and nice, and had a nice array of things to buy from a mini bar at reasonable prices. The location was great and the grounds were very nice. I got some free olives from the mini bar that practically changed my life.
The WVI was perfect for our Santa Ynez getaway. It is a smaller property right in the middle of Solvang. There were only regular rooms available, but next time hopefully we can get into one of the cottages. The place is pretty with little paths, an outdoor fireplace, and a koi pond. The room was a nice size for a mere $59 a night (midweek). There was an honor bar and basket of goodies to purchase from in the room - disposable camera, snacks, deck of cards... Also, they were really nice at check-in. We arrived at 1:00 am and the gal at the front desk was still cheery and called us after we got to the room to make sure it was okay. I did have to take off a star though because we never received our wake up call that we were assured of, and there is no hot tub. I guess the cottages have their own hot tubs, but there isn't one for those of us in the regular rooms. Overall though, it was a great experience. I hope to go back again.
My husband and I stayed at the wine Valley Inn several times and always had one of the cottages. Each cottage has a woodburning fireplace and your own private hot tub out side. Go wine tasting in the afternoon and have a dinner at Angelica's (see if front desk has a 2 for 1 coupon) Tips: 1. Make a reservation at Angelica's. 2. Bring wine to your room to sip in front of the fireplace and 3. Bring tealight candles for the patio. Have fun.
We stayed here for a wedding in Los Olivos. The wedding party was staying here so we thought it would be the most convenient. The weekend we were there it was blazing hot so I was really disappointed to find out there is no pool/lounge area on the hotel grounds. Our hotel room was $159 a night and was listed as superior- it had a fireplace(which we had no need for with the weather). They have just recently remodeled the room, you can tell, but the room was so awkward. They converted the attic into the room we stayed in. There are all these little weird corners and angles. The tv is on a table with one skinny drawer- it was not facing the bed but rather the opposite wall. The was no chest to put your clothes in, only a hanging wardrobe with 2 small lingerie drawers at the bottom. The bathroom had a redone look to it but the shower stall was twice the size it needed to be and the water did not even reach the entire shower space. The final blow for me was their breakfast. It was cold hard-boiled eggs, frozen waffles or pancakes that you could heat up, packaged oatmeal, yogurt cups, sugary covered danishes, and coffee. I guess I am just thinking that a name like wine valley inn implies it was an above average accomodation? Thinking a la Napa. But for the price and disappointments I would have gladly stayed at the motel across the street and not gotten my hopes up.
