We got married at Gundlach Bundschu Winery in September 2011 and we went with Wine Valley Catering as our caterer. It is clear why they get such great reviews on Yelp, they are awesome! The food was on par with what we had tasted earlier in the year when we decided to go with them.
The chilean sea bass was tender, the vegetables were crisp and the steak was juicy and full of flavor. Their dessert bar and their appetizers were excellent as well.
Service was also top notch. During cocktail hour, the servers were getting mobbed by our guests at the entrance so for subsequent rounds they walked over a hill, with appetizers, to reach our other guests - we were so impressed!
Also, I enjoyed working with Debbe, she is clearly a pro at the catering business. And Bonnie, who worked on the day of, was also really excellent. They both made it a wonderful day for us!
I would definitely recommend to a friend/family member! Thank you Wine Valley Catering! -

My husband and I hired Wine Valley Catering for our wedding. We could not have been happier with our choice. We are both food and wine lovers and so are most of our guests. The catering was VERY important to us. I am Type A personality, I have worked in restaurants and I was very specific about how I wanted the service to go. They nailed it!
They didn't bat an eye when we told them we would be serving dinner in the wine caves (something that hasn't been done in these caves in 5 years). They would need to cook upstairs and plate the food down stairs in the caves. We had a wine pairing with the food, we had long tables that went straight down the caves, we had 24 people at each table. I requested the 8 servers they provided hit each table with 3 plates in hand all at the same time. I did not want my guests waiting for everyone at the table to be served and allowing the food to get cold. They did just that.
The food itself was excellent! I knew ours would be cooked well, but I was concerned about our guests, every one of our guests raved about the quality of the food. We served Filet Mignon with a Crab Cake, Chicken stuffed with prosciutto and Butternut Squash Ravioli. Even my sister who eats Dessert almost exclusively cleaned her dinner plate, I am still in shock. We gave them family recipes for the white wine sangria and the cookies. They followed them exactly.
Every one of the people working for them was wonderful! They volunteered to load our personal items in the car at the end of the night. My personal favorite...they had extra cookies at the end of the night, they wrapped them up and took them out to the bus and gave them to our guest to take home. Most caterers would have thrown the extra in the trash and no one would be the wiser.
Throughout the planning process I got deeper and deeper into my specific plans and with each step they smiled and encouraged the new ideas. They never made me feel like any of my suggestions were crazy (believe me, I know they were).
I was truly impressed with the people, the food and the service. It was the quality of a fine restaurant in the city and yet they were in hidden back rooms of the caves. Our guests were all very impressed as well, we had people asking if they sell cookbooks.
They were outstanding! -

Wine Valley Catering is outstanding! My situation was really unique due to the fact that I live in Georgia. Because of the distance from Sonoma, I was not able to meet face to face with the WVC team, let alone try to food, so needless to say I was nervous going into our wedding day.
We had an intimate wedding with 16 people, so we didn't have a "traditional" reception. The food and wine were the focal point of the event. Debbe did an outstanding job with the menu recommendations. We had a 5 course dinner, and Debbe's recommendations were so amazing that we only made some slight tweaks to the dessert course. Not only did our guests rant that it was the best wedding meal that they had ever had, they raved that it was the best meal they had ever had! We are still baffled as to to how they cooked the steak so perfectly when the winery didn't have a kitchen. It was the most tender, delicious medium rare steak I have ever tasted. Melted in my mouth! Every course was delicious and as each course was placed in front of my guests we never got tired of listening to the ooooh's and aaaah's. Our guests were most impressed!
Sheila did a great job organizing the logistics of the event. We had a few out of the ordinary requests and she executed everything flawlessly without question. The service was impeccable! We asked the servers to announce a wine pairing with each course and the servers were able to gain the group's attention and explain each pairing effortlessly.
Words can't express how wonderful WVC is! They far and away exceeded all our expectations! The staff from sales to operations was fantastic and their professional demeanor was refreshing and impressive. I would recommend WVC to anyone! My husband and I relive that day over and over and constantly dream about the delectable meal!
Thank you to the outstanding staff at Wine Valley Catering! -

OMG!!!
Lisa is the best.
We got married at Hans Fahden Winery in June 2009 and for a foodie like me the catering was one of the most important things.
We tried 3 vendors from the venue's list of caterers and initially we went with Piper Johnson, but due to some unfortunate interactions with Piper we switched to WVC and am I glad that we did.
Now only was the food great, but Lisa really made the experience flawless and easy. I have a triple A personality and am very detail oriented person and meticulous to say the least. However Lisa was able to keep up with me and my requests with grace and professionalism and I never felt as if I was asking too much of her.
What a wonderful caterer!Listed in: Wedding

Wine Valley Catering is the BEST! We were lucky to be able to work with Debbe and staff for our June 11th wedding at Oak Farm Vineyard in Lodi, CA. My husband and I were able to modify and create dishes that were special to us alongside WVC chefs. The staff was professional making sure all guests were served by table and correctly. The food for over 130 people was AMAZING! We received multiple compliments during and after our wedding about the food.
Thank you...thank you! Ashley and Will -

Wine Valley Catering is the BEST!! They just catered my wedding and from the beginning they exceeded my expectations!!
* They were incredibly helpful and responsive, no matter how many emails or requests we had.
* They really helped us plan our event, including suggesting timelines and helping us create an intimate setting by coordinating all our rentals. A special thanks to Lisa and Sheila!!
* The appetizers, salads and entrees were so good!! All of our guests raved about the food and most people cleaned their plates (always a good sign).
* The had champagne for us after the ceremony, they made sure we actually got to eat appetizers and our entrees, they packed us a picnic to take with us... They expertly managed our whole day!! Special thanks to Lisa. She was always around when we needed her and always anticipated our needs.
WVC is worth every penny!! I highly recommend them.
Thank you WVC!! -

We had our wedding reception at Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery in Sonoma on June 6, 2009. Wine Valley Catering (WVC) is Sebastiani's preferred catering vendor, so after settling on Sebastiani we went to check WVC out. Not only is their food amazing, but the people (especially Debbe and Sheila, who we seemed to be in touch with on a regular basis as the wedding drew near) are very professional and competent, fantastic to work with, and truly care about making your event as memorable and enjoyable as possible.
When we were deciding on a venue for our rehearsal dinner, Debbe suggested Artesa Winery, which we visited and absolutely loved, and ended up going with. At that point we liked WVC's food and people so much, we decided to have them cater our rehearsal dinner as well. They did a truly amazing job with both events. The support and advice in planning everything in advance was nothing short of a God-send (Debbe could be a top-notch wedding planner!), and their execution at the events was flawless. The food was incredible, the service was excellent, and by the time it was all said and done, it almost felt like having a few extra family members at the reception.
Needless to say, we would highly recommend Debbe, Sheila, and the rest of the WVC crew to anyone planning an event in the Napa/Sonoma or SF Bay Area! -

Best buffet I've ever had at a wedding! Tasty food and great service. Recommend for a wedding any day!
Menu:
Not sure what the scope of their food is, but it seemed pretty diverse. The hot food was nice and hot when served, but wasn't dried out. They also had a carving station where they were serving some really nice prime rib. It was soft and juicy, and oh so tasty. Another dish I had was the veggie gratin. This was one of the most flavorful dishes i've ever had at a wedding. Not too salty but filled with plenty of flavor. There were also plenty of other dishes and they were all very good.
Drinks:
This catering company doesn't have its liquor license yet, so you'll have to order drinks from somewhere else but they will serve it for you. I suggest to go to bevmo and have bevmo deliver to the venue site. It'll save you a ton of money.
Service:
Wonderful service! All the staff was fun, happy, and friendly. I was helping to run the event that day and they were on top of everything I asked them to do.Listed in: Vendors I'd recommend

This company catered my wedding.
They were perfect. I don't think I can say anything about them that the other 5 star ratings did not say.
The apps: Crab rangoon, mini BLT, and truffle pizzetta. All were perfect.
We served the fillet of beef and the chicken stuffed with prosciutto and cheese (fontina). Both were amazing. Most commented it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Awesome.
Thanks so much guys! -

Wine Valley Catering did an amazing job at my wedding at Hans Fahden. The service provided by Lisa F at WVC was superb. She was full of helpful advice and had the patience of a saint. From the passed appetizers to the to sea bass to the dessert buffet - WVC outdid themselves. Our guests were truly wowed by the quality of food and the professional service.
I definitely recommend them! -

Not only was the weather gorgeous in Napa, but Wine Valley Catering's presentation and menu was amazing! Staff was extremely nice and accomodating. Account Exec was so helpful all the weeks leading up to our department event.
Appetizers (duck wontons, sweet corn shooters) were the perfect size and even came around a second time, which was more than we expected. Tuscan salad was superb. Colordo beef filet melted in our mouths. Tahitian Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta was heaven.
If I could afford a Napa wedding, they would be my caterer. -

We attended a wedding last night at the Jessel Gallery. It was catered by Wine Valley Catering. There was initially an array of cheeses and breads and crackers, w/ a bit of fruit. After the ceremony there were martini glasses w/ filet mignon over mashed potatoes and salmon over something that had a tapioca-like texture, both served warm. Plus ratatouille, also in martini glasses and trays of skewers w/ roasted vegetables, spectacularly sweet and fresh prawns and duck breast wrapped in bacon. The prawns were two to a skewer. The duck, which was greaseless and tender, was paired w/ chunks of fresh pineapple. There were large bowls of hummus, olive tapenade, a tomato-based spread and one that I think was lentils. They were all flavorful, although the hummus was too heavy on the garlic, which, coming from me is saying something. Servers circulated w/ other dishes, one a crab and caviar salad w/ horseradish in a 3" tall, slender glass, another, mushroom caps stuffed w/ Gorgonzola and walnuts. I heard there were lamb sliders, but I didn't taste one.
There were trays of desserts, lemon bars, chocolate dipped strawberries, tiny tartlets w/ custard and fresh berries and chocolate dipped pieces of cheesecake on a stick. There were also plentiful bowls of fresh berries, separated by type. Unlike most blackberries in the stores now these had no red spots and were lusciously ripe. Everything I tasted was excellent. Service was gracious. -

Unbelievable expensive. The quote we received from Wine Valley Catering $10,000 more than the next highest caterer (and we met with 7 caterers). We obviously didn't use them.
Go somewhere else. These guys are a rip off. -

I love this catering company.
We had our wedding at Hans Fahden and from start to finish, WVC was fantastic. First, the food is great. The appetizers are great, and the entrees were sublime. We chose a beef and chicken dish that were SO GOOD, and they gave us a vegetarian option that people were raving about. The appetizers were perfect! We had a TON of people complimenting us on the food, which felt great.
Lisa and Sheila were amazing. They always emailed or called us back with questions and updates, and they even created a special appetizer for us that we had our hearts set on.
WVC totally went above and beyond. My grandmother took a scary fall on the day of the wedding. She ended up being fine and had just a few scrapes. Before anyone even really got a sense of what happened, Sheila was already there patching her up with band-aids and making sure nothing was broken. It was so good of her! They really come prepared for anything! -

They did such a fabulous job with the food for our wedding. Very easy to work with with flexible menu options and a classy tasting. Everyone raved about the food, from the cocktail hour apps including a seafood ice bar to the buffet dinner options with something for everyone. As a foodie for once I liked the food at a wedding - thank God, since it was my wedding!

My wife and I decided during our wedding "daydreaming" phase that the three most important things in our perfect wedding scenario would be the food, the wine, and the music. We wanted our guests to leave our wedding saying, "Wow! That was the best wedding food we've ever had!" Thanks to Wine Valley Catering, that's exactly what they said. Though working on a budget in wine country was anything but ideal, Debbe from WVC was a superstar! The presentation of everything from the welcome bar, to the buffet, to the dessert bar was exquisite. Debbe really listened to each and every detail we were concerned about and made sure our vision became a reality. The delicious buffet offered our guests a ton of variety and the food stayed warm until the last guest filled their plate...for a second time! The staff was friendly, extremely professional, and very attentive, especially to the family tables and my wife and me. Our water and wine glasses were never less than half full.
WVC really makes you forget you're at a wedding and makes you feel like you're at an intimate dinner with great friends. If/when I'm rich and famous enough to throw catered birthdays for myself and 200 of my closest friends, I look forward to hiring WVC again :) Until then, I hope you'll keep them busy. WVC rocks!

I cannot tell you how wonderful Wine Valley Catering was in helping us with our wedding reception. Steve Sarna was my constant bf. He was always available and gave me great advice leading up to our big day. The food way AMAZING and the staff was exceptionally helpful. Hours before the wedding, I arrived at the Treasure Island venue and noticed that the chairs that were rented were the wrong color. I asked for White wooden chairs and natural wooden chairs arrived. Lynn Box immediately jumped into action and got the rental company to switch them out. Well before any guests arrived, the chairs were the right color. Everyone worked to make sure our day was an event no one would forget. We definitely got what we paid for and more. The food was delicious and the bar didn't run out of anything....and that is saying a lot for our drunken guests!

Wine Valley Catering makes the most amazing food and really knows how to decorate a space. Hans Fahden Vineyards, where I got married this summer, recommended WVC for our wedding. After taking a look at their website and the diverse menu options, we chose them to cater our intercultural wedding. We worked with Lisa Freathy and Sheila Moore, both fantastic women who made the process so much easier and pleasant. Sheila was especially wonderful because she was such a trooper dealing with my Chinese parents and my husband's Greek mom. For the appetizers we chose the ahi tuna on lotus root, fresh spring rolls, and spanikopita. Don't try finding spanikopita on the menu because it's not there, but WVC was more than willing to make whatever we wished for. The amazing chefs at WVC tried their best to make spanikopita, which turned out so great. The spanikopita tasted so authentic, and all of our guests thought we found Greek caterers! For our dinner banquet we opted for the family-style service, which I highly recommend because there's plenty of food to go around and gives guests a chance to chat with one another and be social. All the food we chose was so delicious - Greek salad, Mediterranean platter, grilled veggies, chicken, sea bass, filet mignon, (cute) roasted baby potatoes. Our guests had nothing but compliments and thought it was the best wedding food they ever had. The best part is they arrange a special wait staff person to attend to the bride and groom. It was so fabulous! We had heard that the bride and groom usually don't get a change to eat or drink at their wedding, but not us! Whenever we thought about getting a bite to eat, our nice wait staff person was right behind us with a tray of food and drinks. I highly recommend WVC for your next event - professional service, great food, and helpful staff.

My husband and I chose WVC for our March 19th wedding at Hans Fahden Vineyards. Lisa and Sheila did an amazing job of following through with all of our food and beverage requests! The passed h' orderves were a big hit and all of our guests had their favorites. Our sit down dinner in the wine cave was equally as enjoyable. Not only did the linen choices brighten up the space but the food was out of control. My husband and I had to take some additional pictures while the dinner course was being served so the Chef held our plates. When we finally returned to the table and were served we were pleasantly surprised with a HOT and delicious meal!! Our cake and dessert table was better than I had imagined and so many of our friends and family went up for seconds and even thirds. I would definitely recommend Wine Valley Catering for upcoming brides and grooms as they helped to make our wedding something we'll never forget!
