I Love this store!  I love the layout and the great projects/ideas they always have on display.  The products they carry is on the higher end scale and the quality of their inventory is much better than at the "Big Box Chain" craft stores as well.   Everything seems to be represented--seasons, holidays, travel, baby, wedding, etc. So if you're just starting out with a project or want something unique.  This is a great place to visit.  They have a nice back room set up for classes or crop nights too.

The gals that work here have always been so helpful.  They always take the time to chat and ask what my current project is, what I'm planning with such-and-such paper.  It's a lot of fun talking with people that obviously love what they do.

Sadly...this is the only scrapbook store left in Chicago.  My favorite
store, Scrapbook Source closed.  I have been a customer of
this store for over 3 years, just because it is the only game in town.

I have found the staff, very Lincoln Parkish.  Not very helpful.
When working in the workroom, and yes staff eat, drink, etc in the rooms.
Staff will make off colored remarks on customer's food.  For example,
"Thai Food Stinks!!!".  I have just purchased over $80 dollars worth of
supplies.

So, when you need a drink of water.... walk run to Joann's Superstore
or DRIVE to Archivers.  Where staff is friendly and the workroom
does not smell.

It pains me to only give this place two stars, but my two interactions with them have been less than stellar, so it needs to be done.

I LOVE scrapbooking.  And I was so excited to find this place, especially since it's fairly near my home.  They do have a nice selection of items, but they just don't seem to have anything I am looking for.  And what's more - they don't seem to care.  Don't get me wrong - they are very helpful if what you want is actually in the store, but if it's not - that's it.  Compared to other scrapbooking stores I've shopped at (not in the Chicago area, unfortunately) who have gone out of their way to place special orders (because hey - it is a business, right?) I was pretty disappointed with WCS.  Maybe I'll shop here in a pinch, but probably not.

A few years ago I spent an entire month putting together a scrapbook of my dad's life for his 50th bday.  I was really into it at first, but then realized scrapbooking just isn't the hobby for someone who's ADD and has the artistic skills of a 5 yr old.  Yep, that's me!  However, I'm living Katherine Heigl's life in "27 Dresses" this spring/summer...and apparently part of being a good bridesmaid is making a scrapbook for the bride.

My favorite scrapbook store from a few years ago, Scrapbook Source, is now RIP, but thank goodness for you yelpers who led me to Windy City Scrapbooking today.  When my friend Dana and I first walked in I took a look around at all the different sections of the store- sports, graduation, baby, wedding, alcoholics (i spent a lot of time in this section), etc and said to her "wow, people really have way too much time in their lives."  But a few minutes later I was one of those people because my arms were full of colorful paper, northwestern stickers, bridal stickers, and yes....lots of martini stickers.

This was the day to come to Windy City Scrapbooking because they were celebrating their 5th bday.  Oh, how I love bdays...and WCS knows how to celebrate!  They actually had cake, everyone in the store sang happy bday, and at the cash register you could pop a balloon to get a 15-40% off coupon. 20% off coupon for me- yippee!

And if I ever did become a scrapbooking person I"d definitely be taking advantage of their classroom in the back where you can spend many hours scrapbooking or even take a class.  And based on the look of my scrapbook pages so far...I could probably use a class!

Love windy city.  They have a very nice selection of products.  Nice assortment of travel papers and embellishments.  Also have lots of Chicago items, such as cut outs, papers, embellishments, etc.  Ususally have some decent items on sale/clearance as well.  Always stocked with the newest products from the hottest companies.  The store is broken down into categories and all related products are together.  This makes finding items a breeze!

If I lived in Chicago, this would be my first stop every time I was feeling the creative urge start to a scrappy project. The store is quite and has a nice collection of both traditional and modern scrapbooking items at fair prices. Also on the inventory list are items for random craft projects (like collages or box-decorating). Lots for mom or mom-to-be scrappers, brides, and travel themed pages,t oo.

I went in one day and spent over and hour (and over $100!) on stuff that I know I wil not be able to find anywhere else. Best of all - the owner is SUPER kind and took the time to have a long and thoughtful conversation with me about scrapbooking travel destinations.

GO HERE! GO HERE!

4.5 stars, when will you allow me the pleasure of half stars yelp?

Ventured out here the other day before the big storm hit after the favorable reviews from my fellow yelpers. Was quite impressed with the size of the store, and the amount of things they had in it. Were missing New Years paper, but the owner/worker had 20 other ideas she quickly suggested to do instead, and actually looked better than my original idea.

My only complaint is the lack of paper for bar nights, partying, and Chicago things especially the Cubs.  They had a small section for adult only but unfortunately my frequent bar visits were all over those in no time flat. Otherwise I will definitely be returning even though its a 2 mile walk from my front door, so that should tell you something.

Let me start by saying I'm really happy that Windy City Scrapbooking is not too close to my house.  I could walk around here all day, checking out the displays and dreaming of the fantastic scrapbooks I will make---when I have some free time.  I have a bad habit of buying everything that I don't need and spending more than I planned to.

This is a very clean and well-organized shop with a great selection of paper crafting supplies.  I can always find something here for a budget-friendly price.  Salespeople are friendly, creative people who will help you out with suggestions or when you're artsy side is lacking.

By far the BEST scrapbook store around...hands down! The staff is always super nice and helpful. They have more product than any store I've been too (and one of my favorite business trip activities is finding the stores around where I'm going...so I have been to A LOT of shops!)

The Beginner's class is free...so if you're thinking of making a book for yourself, your parents, a teacher, etc...it's a great way to see if you're interested in the hobby without shelling out cash before you even get started.

I highly recommend shopping here...it is an independantly owned business, with a wonderful owner who really cares about preserving your memories, with super fun staff members willing to help you out, with more product / the best selection than you'll know what to do with, great classes and a super fun crop night so you can hang out with your friends.

So, whether you make cards, collage, scrapbooks, photo books, altered art projects, teacher appreciation projects, or science fair boards for your kids...I'm sure they have what you need!

Windy City Scrapbooking, located on Clybourn Avenue in Lincoln Park, is bigger and has more selection than most scrapbooking stores I have ever been to!

If you get their online newsletter, you will receive invitations to discount days and other coupons. Their sales people are extremely helpful, offering new ideas and letting you use their workspace at leisure.

Come to WCS just for the Chicago-related scrapbooking supplies that you won't find at major chain store such as Jo-Ann or Michael's. Highly recommended for all craft enthusiasts.

I have found that Windy City is the best scrapbooking store in Chicago.  I started this hobby a little over a year ago and Windy City employees have been so helpful and friendly.  The owner, Christina, always greets me by name when I walk in the door.  It's just a really nice atmosphere with great people working there.

In the last year, the selection of papers and embellishments has gotten better.  I think Christina tries to keep on top of trends after all of the major trade shows and she usually does a pretty good job of it.  If you are looking for something that WC doesn't have, they're always willing to order it for you.

Of all of the other stores in Chicago, you'll find the best variety here.

I LOVE this store!  The store is in a very large space for the area.  They have a expansive selection of paper, stickers, ribbon, tools, etc.  It's very clean and easy to find things.  The prices are also very moderate for scrapbook supplies.  I highly recommend!

The store has a great product selection and the owner is super friendly, but I will never shop there again.  The last time I was there really upset me. My mother wanted to have her birthday there and it happened to correspond with one of their all-day crop sessions -- so I bought five seats for my sisters and her.

I had an infant that I needed to bring with me and he was very good all day. He slept a lot and was relatively quite (some infant babling and crying when hungry);  I never felt he was disruptive, especially since the other three women there were obviously mothers, and one in particular was WAY louder and way more annoying than the baby. The store has a changing station in the bathroom so I felt they must be a baby-friendly company.

Towards the end of the evening (but two hours before the "session" was scheduled to end), I asked one of the employees for help with my album. The employee said she was glad I came out of the crop room because she "didn't want to call me out in front of the group". I was taken aback a little because I couldn't imagine what she was going to say. She said my baby was being disruptive to everyone and that if he started making noise I should leave the store. It was cold outside and I had no intension of going outside with my baby.

I told her that I was a little surprised people thought she felt that way, but I would be respectful of the other croppers. When I went back to the room, I asked the other three women if they had a problem with the baby and all of them said he was fine. None of them had complained.

I had spent a lot of money in the store and just as much on the all-day crop sessions. I thought since there was really no situation to bring up, it was rude that the employee made me feel so bad.

I can't shop there now.

This store is wonderful. The owner is really sweet too.

They have the most unique paper. They have paper for different cities in Illinois. Great road trip scrapbook idea!
F.Y.I. Sometimes there is a  sale rack with discontinued paper. Ask the sales clerk,  you could save over 50%.

You HAVE to go here!  One of the best scrapbooking shops I've been to in the country.  Friendly staff, huge selection (lots of things you won't find at big-box retailers and every other scrapbook store, too, for that matter), great stock of basics, ideas galore...  So glad we took the time to make it out.  We'll definitely be back!

This place rocks! I recently took up scrapbooking and my jaw fell open when I walked in and saw all the wonderful supplies they had. The have everything you could possibly want and a bunch of stuff you didn't know you wanted but bought anyway cause it was just so damn cool. The staff is friendly and helpful. I only wish they had more stamping inks. Otherwise it's great. Their sales are also nice. A must for any scrapbooker in the area. For sure the best place in the city.

This place is fantastic! They have everything you could ever imagine and a lot of stuff I didn't even know I needed. The owner and the employees were super nice. They helped me when I asked and left me alone when I didn't. They have a great selection of stickers, especially travel ones. Most stores only have London, Paris, New York and Hawaii, but these guys had everything. I will definitely be going back to feed my addiction.

BEST scrapbook store in Chicago! They are very friendly and knowledgeable there, and have everything you can imagine! One time I forgot a smaller bag of things I purchased and they called me (I'm in their system) and mailed it to me because I lived in the burbs, free of charge. They could have just thrown it back into stock. They have GREAT sales (especially their summer in-store garage sale). The only downfall is they're a bit pricey, but it's worth it being they have the most variety anywhere.

I'm a really terrible, lazy scrap booker, but my mom's on the design team for Rusty Pickle so I do have someone who knows what they're talking about on my team. Anyway, this place has EVERYTHING. It's awesome. And this is coming from someone who thinks Metal Haven is as awesome as Chicago gets. It's like scrap booking for art school drop outs (aka me.)
