Here is the deal.
FREE WINE TASTING! They had over 20 wines to taste. A nice selection of whites, reds, and even two sparkling wines.
Atmosphere:
First off, Tiburon is a great little town. Not over loaded with tourists like it's neighbor Sausalito.
This little wine shop has a great wooden bar with knowledgeable wine makers standing behind it.
Price:
The price is right, being that all the tastings are free. You will also have no problem finding a tasty bottle of award winning zin or pinot for under $15.
Parking:
Tons of street parking.
You've just been yelped in.
This was an unexpected surprise - who knew there was free wine in Tiburon? Nothing is free in Tiburon! You're allowed up to six free tastes, which was more than enough. I purchased the Petit Sirah ($22) and the Riesling ($11) - I found the Sirah to be a tad earthier than I recall with a smooth finish. The Riesling was just the right amount of sweetness...not too much - It would actually compliment a light lunch nicely...not just for dessert.
Cody was cool...decent pours, nice conversationalist...not one of those snitty wine snobs.
Goodness!
I love this place! The Petite Syrah is my favorite!! The tasting room has very rustic feel. The tasting room staff is very kind and helpful. They pour fantastic wines and converse with you at the same time answering questions about the region and wine-making.
Windsor Vineyards also makes custom labels.
Check this place out Fo Sho!! Petite Syrah
like one of his flicks u have great, over-the-top character dev like max fisher in rushmore or zissou in life aquatic...so not the real mccoy but wes will take u through 6 comp'd flights of tasting and maybe more if u show some cleavage.
the other staff are fun and make the tastings enjoyable with color and more than your avg sommelier quotables...tried the syrah, cab, sav blanc and gerwurstra..whatever u call it. we ended up pickin up 2 bottles to get lit at a friend of a friends house in sausalito.
the flavors were yummy and the feel of this charming little spot was lively and made the cherry on top of after a sunday brunch at sam's cafe.
This place is a great stop in Tiburon. The staff are sweet, and really care about wine. They are also never pretentious. It's a cute little building with a spiral staircase up the side, along the ark row shops. Free tastings? Yes, please. They also validate your parking for an hour if you buy $5 or more!! Easy to do, with all of the decent wines they have at great prices. They also do custom labels, even on champagne... which came in handy at work over the holidays!
