This doctor doesn't deserve any stars! She is a very friendly doctor, but wants to get as much money out of your insurance as possible!! I had made an apt because I was having trouble catching my breath at times. It took one week to get in- no biggy. But, after one week passed, I also started to get this annoying itchy ear that would keep me up at night. So, when I got to my appointment. I let her know what all my symptoms were and she would only address my "breathing issue". After asking her about 3 times what I should do for my ear, she finally said "oh, you can talk to my receptionist about making another apt to talk about your ear." What???? I couldn't believe it!!! So, I did...I came back 2 days later and she talked continuously about my ear issue. Well, I was pregnant and she wanted to give me some sorta drug that I was a little unsure about taking. So, she told me that she would contact her colleague to discuss it with him prior to prescribing it to me and she would call me back the next day.
Well, the next day came and went, so I called the office the following morning to see if she had talked with her colleague yet because my ear was getting worse. After one week and me calling the office a total of 3 times and no response from Dr. Wilturner- I received a letter from her/or her office, stating 2 things- one is that I am to only set up an apt for ONE thing at a time and that if I have MULTIPLE issues that I need to notify her receptionist so that they can schedule separate apts for each issue and SECOND that I needed to stop HARRASSING the office!!! I couldn't believe it- they actually considered 3 phone calls over a one week period of time Harrassement??? I was shocked!!
Needless to say, I reported her to my insurance and sent them the letter she sent to me. She must have had numerous complaints because she is no longer taking SCIPPA patients. I called SCIPPA and she is "on probation" with them. They wouldn't give me any details.
Just for "the record" the last time I saw this doctor was 1.5 years ago.
I have moved and asked for my records to be transferred to my new doctor's. I had to pay a fee of $75 to get that sent over. I asked if there was some other way to I could do this to avoid the fee and her office staff said no. I tried to see if I could pick up my records to take over and that apparently was not an option. I'm really mad. Definitely would not recommend Dr. Wilturner to anyone.
Dr Susan Wilturner is one of the best family physicians that I have had. She is very patient in hearing out your symptoms and always comes out with the correct diagnisis and medication. She has a very friendly vibe and goes out of the way to ensure patient care. I would highly recommend her.
This is one of the most unprofessional doctors I have ever been to. She refuses to speak to patients over the phone, including a pharmacy that had a question about my prescription. She wants you to come in for every little thing so she can bill it to the insurance company. It is virtually impossible to get an appointment when you are ill. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
