We were on I-91 going North and hit by hunger, turned off at CT route 75, went past the McDonald's into town and came upon this place. They have an "over 55" menu, which definitely applies to us. Huge portion of chicken, beef, cooked just the way we asked.Broccoli with garlic butter...for under $10. There are times you feel there is more than food - there's a kind of love on the plate - and this was one of them.

Can I eat anything at the Wilton Diner? No. Would I normally give a diner four stars? Heck no. So why the great marks then? Because the Wilton Diner is a fantastic family owned establishment. This spot has been a favorite of my parents and family for years--we're always greeted warmly upon entering and for years (before he moved on) my parents could count on their favorite waiter, Moses, tending to their table.
Omelettes are big, fluffy, and chock full of veggies and cheese (a favorite before I went vegan). Look out for other great menu items too, especially their greek specialties. My brothers love their milkshakes.
