OK, so I am reviewing my Hometown now? This is a very different burger than the California varietal, but I have heard this burger was the origin of the concept of Wendy's which started in Columbus, OH.
When you walk into the fishbowl building that houses Wilson's you feel like you are on display for the world to see. It is very well lit and there are windows everywhere. There are always some interesting characters there. Some seem as though they have been there drinking the same bottomless cup of coffee for like the past month.
When you order you must know how to order or be scolded by the lady's working the counter. All lovely people in their own right ;) Order a hamburg with (a burger with onion, pickle, mustard and ketchup) or a special if you want lettuce, tomato and mayo, but I prefer the classic hamburg with. You can't order your fries and frosty at the same time of your hamburg. You have to wait until you get to the register. Dip your fries in your frosty for a chocolaty, salty treat.
The burger is square and simple, but you can taste the beef, bun, pickles and onions all separately in your mouth. It doesn't all mix together. That is the beauty of Wilson's burgs.
I must get one every time I go back!
I will take a single with cheese! pickle, onion, & ketchupI! I miss this place!!! Its screams "home". A unique style of serving, and if you've never been don't take the rudeness to heart. Love and miss this place dearly.
Wilson's if the Famous Burger Place in Findlay.
Eatinghere is like stepping back in time to our parents generation of diners, no not Mel's diner, but what came after that.
During the weekday lunch hour anticipate a wait. It's as though everyone downtown heads to Wilson's for a burger and fries.
They're delicious and inexpensive.
OK, It's been already 3 years since I moved to CA. I've tried many different burgers in CA but I still missed Wilson's so much!! The burger tastes great and another interest thing is they have an old menu on the wall with the price of the day they started the business. It's fun to see the price there. I also enjoyed the atmosphere that is quite different than here, in CA. There are many nice my grandparents' generation people sitting inside, especially in the morning time. The size of burger was a little small, compared to the burgers in CA, but it's also cheap. So, I usually bought two ot three bergurs on my way to school. Then, I could stay with that all day in school.
