So, we were wandering around the area during the Farmer's Market when I decided, "I should finally chop off all this hair of mine. Oh look, Wilson's Salon? Let's do it!" After a few minutes of deliberating, I walk into Wilson's with an armful of kettle corn, flowers and a head of broccoli to see if they can see me that day. They took me in right away! I didn't even have time to sit in the waiting area! My stylist (not Wilson, I really wish I remembered his name...) sat me down in the chair and asked what I wanted...cut to mid-neck, slightly longer in the front, layers. He nodded and I got my hair washed. Then back in the chair, where he got to work. My thoughts during this time: "Yippee, haircut! ...whoa, that looks kinda short. D: ...I can feel the air on my neck! It's short! D: ...Wait. This is short, but I think I like it! I'm gonna need scarves! YAY!" 45 minutes later, after a blow dry & styling, I had a new haircut & I couldn't be happier!

He really took his time with me, being extra careful my hair was all the right length. (Unlike at Maggie's in Milpitas, where I usually go...they get you in & out pretty quick, but sometimes too quick means random stray hairs.) Also, I'm pretty low maintenance, so luckily he told me that my back layers don't need much styling, just to take care of the front.

To me, the true test of a good haircut is the few days after when all the fancy styling & hair products are gone & I'm left to deal with the hair myself...Aside from the funky shapes my hair made cause I've slept on it funny, I can honestly say that my hair still looks amazing. Thank you, Wilson's Salon!

I don't know what's up with all this negative one-star reviews about this place. It's actually quite amazing! Or I should say Anna is just beyond amazing!

So the first time getting my hair cut here was in July (three months back) when I was visiting town during a school break. I was just sitting home feeling bored so decided to cut my hair short. My usual stylist wasn't available that day but this strong urge was pulling me..so I decided to go somewhere new. It just happened that Anna was available that day and she gave me a very nice bob -- just what I asked for (:

And now I'm all back in the Bay Area after school's completely done and happily living in Berkeley. But still, I would drive over an hour in traffic just to go see Anna. I went to see her yesterday and the business was quite slow due to the bad rainy weather. So she took her time washing my hair and we chatted for a bit while waiting for the conditioner to soak in. Again, she gave me exactly what I wanted: full-frontal bangs with a bob! What's even better was she curled my hair after the cut just for fun. So I went to dinner with my friends last night rocking a curly bob with new bangs..got so many compliments :D She even gave me suggestions on colors and stuff. I think next time going in, I might do something different to my hair color!

Love this place! Love Anna!! =]

When i told all my friends and family, they were so shocked that they charged me 260!!!!
WAY TOO OVER PRICE!!!! the service wasn't that great either, I have never paid so much money in a salon!!

I just recently got a cut and highlight from Wilson.  I love it.  No one can ever give me the haircut I ask for, but he did and more.  If you only want to spend a few bucks then this is not the place for you...you get what you pay for.  Mine was well worth the cost.  If you are looking for a great place, this is it.  Thanks Wilson!

I got my haircut again yesterday by Wilson.  I've been going to Wilson for many years.  I have thin, blonde-ish hair, which turns out to be very hard to cut for most stylists.  Stylists usually think my hair is short, so they cut it in 15 minutes and push me out.  I end up with choppy lines instead of fades, and extra hairs poking out that were missed.  Wilson takes his time.  He cuts and re-cuts... fades and re-fades.  I can go to Wilson the day before a customer meeting and feel confident that I'm going to look right the next day (or next month even).  I guess that's why I keep going back.  I have complete confidence in his work.

Wilson has a busy schedule, so sometimes I ask Anna to cut my hair.  She's a sweet girl, and she takes great care of me.  Highly recommended.

I'm still driving up from SJ just to get my haircut.  That is proof that it's worth the time on it's own.

I just moved to the Sunnyvale area and I was looking for a new place to get my eyebrows waxed. While wondering around downtown, I came across Wilson's and decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in and asked about the waxing, I was taken into the waxing room right away by a woman named Judy. Judy is extremely friendly and really knows what she is doing. I will definitely be going back to her in the future.

Ok.. after 3 months of getting a haircut at Wilson's, I decided to write a review.

I strongly believe this deserves a 1 star. Wilson was my "stylist".

When I go in there, I was greeted by a stiff "what do you want".. and none of the 3 people there even smiled to acknowledge my presence (including Wilson).

I asked for a "trim", not wanting my hair to be cut too short. But during the cut, when I realized that he was cutting it too short, I reminded him, and he said "all men get the same hair style"... well, that makes him useless.. doesn't it?

And then, at the end, I shelve out my money and leave - even thought I spent less than what I used to before moving to the bay area, it still was not worth it.

So, men... beware... unless you want a hair cut like everyone else's.

I am a HUGE fan of Anna.  The rest of the staff seems to cut hair nicely, everyone coming out looks great, but I really appreciate Anna's friendliness and punctuality.  I've only gone in for haircuts (ranging down from long hair and up to a sharp pixie).  She's given me styling tips and I always quite happy with my hair after she's touched it.

I came to this salon to get a touch up on my highlights and a haircut.. Tommy was my stylist and quoted me $150 dollars.  When it was time to pay, I was charged, 270 plus, for a simple touch up and haircut, it was nothing complicated, as my roots were about an inch, and the base color was fine, it did not need to be changed.  I was in a rush and just signed the credit card receipt, but as soon as i got ho for highlights and some other outrageous amount for color..  its ridiculous... I asked to speak to Wilson and the receptionist advised he was way too busy to take my call, but that a call back was guaranteed, I still have not heard back from anyone at the salon.

I don't mind paying for quality services, but i do appreciate an honest and accurate quote, which i certainly did not get here.

I don't recommend this salon to anyone, as the service is not all the greatest and Wilson seems to not care about the experience his customer have.

NOTE TO WILSON - BTW, you customer service etiquette on the comment below truly reflects how you treat your customers, you don't care! and you said it, I'm certain that i can easily find an honest stylist.

I'm a first-time customer, & my hair stylist was Anna.  I told her to do whatever she thought looked best, along the lines of a bob. (i was looking for a drastic change... also she's got funky pink & short layered hair herself, so i felt more comfortable letting her do a fun new style)
I liked how she was easy to talk to & gave some suggestions for what i could do w/ hair dye & styling.
I'd never had my hair short before, and i love the results! also, i should mention that i've never gotten my hair done in a salon (i usually do it myself or go to a supercuts-like place) & i'm glad that i chose this place.
[it was 55 for a shampoo & cut]
I definitely recommend wilson's salon, and anna, to anyone looking for a new salon to go to, it's a friendly atmosphere that is stylish & modern, but not intimidating or snooty at all.

    I LOVE this place!

I have been a nomad when it comes to hair salons I try places but they never really stick after a few visits.

"Wilson" from Wilson's Salon is AMAZING!! I have been wanting to go short for a while and for anyone who has medium length hair that has worked for years can understand how hard that decision can be---I showed Wilson a bunch of pictures and described what I wanted and he cut my hair EXACTLY has I had envisioned. I lvoe my haircut and get many compliments.

Wilson also really tries to get you in when you want, even if it means working late.

The salon itself is clean and fun to be in. I also love Judy at the front desk, super sweet!

Great place! I went here yesterday and got my hair cut and styled by Anna. Awesome personalities work here and a great  atmosphere to match. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I asked Anna for something short and choppy; those were the only guidelines. Otherwise, I told her to do whatever else she thought would look good. Needless to say, she did  a great job and gave me an awesome and edgy new style. Also, she gave me instructions on how to style it properly. Great work! Totally pro!

After reading the reviews, I called Wilson's and got an appointment the same day.

I had my hair cut by Jean. I had long hair and I asked for a pixie cut and he gestured to my neck, my shoulders, and my chin. How short? Uh... short short. Pixie cut. Like a boy.

I was really surprised that he never asked me for feedback once he got to cutting. At one point I kind of had a shag going and finally stopped him and asked for it to be shorter. Short. He nodded and cut it about half an inch shorter, rushed me back to rinse off the little bits of hair and styled it and sent me out the door. I didn't even get to hold the mirror and spin around to see the back of my head.

Which was a mistake. It ended up way too long in back. It looks like I HAD a pixie cut about six weeks ago and need to get it trimmed again. Basically, I paid a lot of money for a haircut that looks like I need a haircut.

I also warned him that I had a piercing on the back of my neck and to please be careful with it. I'm lucky he didn't tear out my piercing. He combed and combed and combed over it.

I probably won't return unless I'm sure that I can get Wilson to cut my hair. It was way too expensive and time consuming (more than an hour). I don't mind paying a lot for a haircut, but this was definitely not the kind of service I expect for the price. Disappointed.

I had my hair cut by Jean (Jin or however you want to spell his name) last week on Thursday and left very frustrated with the experience.  I waited a couple days to write the review to let the frustration reside.

I called to make an appointment on Wednesday for a next day appointment to trim my hair.  After arriving on time and waiting 10 minutes for Jean to come get me for the consultation, I explained to him I was interested in a 2 inch trim and interested in long layers for more volume.  The consultation went fine.

To get an idea of what kind of experience he had under his belt, I asked him how long he had been cutting hair.  He answered 15 years which made me feel a little better about the experience but was proven wrong. When I asked him where he was from, he told me he wasn't from around the area but from Sunnyvale. *We ARE in SUNNYVALE* and he corrected himself that he was from the area but to forgive him because he just got back from SFO.  Which is why I believe he was hung-over and cutting my hair or just did not understand English very well.

After shampooing my hair, he started splitting it to section it for the cut.  He did this about 5 times before he clipped it.  He looked confused and kept tossing my hair before he started to comb my wet hair into my face.  I didn't say anything at first because I thought he would come back to it but he left the wet hair in my face and continued to comb more wet hair over it   The wet hair in my eyes really bothered me so I asked him to use the clips on his sleeve to get the hair out of my face.  He started cutting my hair from the crown down which is a technique I've never seen done before but read on to see how it not work.

I couldn't wait for him to be done with the cut.  He trimmed more the right side then he did on my left side and when I mentioned it to him...he told me my hair wasn't parted right.  I don't think he realized he was the one that parted my hair !!!  He created big gaps in my layers, making it look very choppy but I just wanted to finish and get out of there.  My hair was different lengths all over.  He did not check to see if the right side and left side were the same length.  He was very imprecise with his cutting.  He was quick to pull my hair up and snip the scissors but a few times he didn't cut any hair at all.  I felt like he kept looking at himself in the mirror and did not care much about the cut.

During my blow dry, he positioned the blow dryer right next to my scalp and made me jump when it was too hot to bare.  I asked him to be careful because it was too hot.  About 2 minutes later he burned my scalp AGAIN making me clearly frustrated this time.   I didn't care about drying my hair completely, I just wanted to be done with the experience.  I got up, thanked him, paid for my cut, and have been replaying this bad experience since.

I went to someone else to fix my hair and was really embarrassed when the gaps in my hair was pointed out to me.  In order to fix his mistakes, my hair is now 4-5 inches shorter.  I don't know how long Jean has been working at Wilson Salon but he definitely needs to be re-trained how to cut hair or go back to school.  For the record, I was observing Wilson right next to us and he did some awesome work on his clients.  I wouldn't recommend Wilson keep this guy in his salon, he can do more damage than  good.

Wilson's is a strange salon.  It should probably be a three star salon (or two stars for the price increases that ALWAYS happen between getting a quote and having to pay) but I feel that way too many of these five star reviews are bogus so I'm balancing them with a one star review (do you get a discount or only have to pay the quoted price if you leave a glowing review on Yelp?).

Regardless, the salon is over priced most of the stylists have a chip on their shoulder and react very poorly to criticism.

If I am allow to rate Wilson and Andy 10 stars... I'd give them 20. (Yes, they were THAT awesome!!)

I hired Andy and Wilson for my Wedding day makeup and hair. They were professional, attentive to my needs and just amazing to work with.

Over the year of Wedding preparation, I have emailed Andy back and forth regarding my ideas and vision for my wedding look.. MIND YOU, THIS IS A YEAR IN ADVANCE to the wedding day.. Like many brides, I was overly anxious and worrisome about how I wanted to look for my big day.. but no matter how many times I email , Andy would reply so quickly even though my event was no where near. He was always thorough in answering all of my questions and concerns.. and about 2 weeks of communication via email, I've decided to go for a trial at the salon for my hair and makeup.

I met Wilson and finally, Andy for the very first time. I brought my laptop and showed them my vision.  I told them that I love Lady Gaga and I would love something unique, modern yet elegant.

Wilson, the hairstylist.. a softer spoken guy and a great listener to my needs.  He was patient ad he listened to me go on and on about all of my crazy ideas.  In matter of minutes, he started to work on my hair...We talked for a bit about lady gaga and sense of style and fashion.. The next time I knew, he had created this master piece.  He basically took my idea and materialized it within minutes.  I could feel that he had a great deal of passion for his work.  I allowed him to be creative and he absolutely took it to another level (in a good way of course.) I also brought a couple pieces of feather and rhinestone accessories for him to place on my hair.  We did the mock up.. and he was kind enough to offer putting them together to make one hair accessory piece.  My goodness..I was more than pleased

As with Andy, the makeup artist; he is such a doll.  He is much more talkative of a guy... very easy to talk to and most importantly, he was very talented.

I brought my sister and MOH on the day of the trial and after talking to him about the looks I'd like to try, he very quickly got me started.  I could feel his enthusiasm and passionate about  the work that he does.  As he was dabbing foundation on my cheeks, he explained every single product used... With my girls looking over his shoulders, he was not uncomfortable or anything..  He was not shy about his knowledge.  He taught us his techniques on eye lash application and foundation tips and all... He given offered us some of his eyelashes. After he finished my  first look.  I could tell that he was very detailed oriented when asked to me step out of the salon and into some natural lighting to check my foundation; making sure that it was even.  At that point, I knew I needed no more trials and that this is the team that I will need for my big day.

On the wedding day... They came to my hotel suite ON TIME at 6:30am sharp.  They set up quickly in the bathroom and even played Lady gaga from Andy's phone! :) Not sure if that was for me but I sure enjoyed it. haha

They finished my hair and MU in no time.. moved on to my mother-in-law and then my mother.. They were fast but not rushy..  Everyone looked fantastic.  The mothers looked 20 years younger, I mean they did amazingly!   They finished everyone .. and as my bridesmaid began to arrive to the room.. Wilson had even to offer to clean up some of the girls hair when he was there! He was just that awesome!

After their work was done, Andy had agreed to come back to for a makeup touchup for me.. later on that evening and he came back on time as promised.

These guys are professional, knowledgeable, creative and very very good at what they do.   1000000% of awesomeness!

I have had my haircut once a month for more than 5 years from Wilson. I go there because I get a great haircut every time. I don't get anything from Wilson for posting this 5 star review, just a good haircut. The price for a basic men's haircut is not inexpensive (there is an $8 haircut place a block away if that is your thing) but worth it to me for consistently getting a great haircut each and every time.

Admittedly, I'm not the most diligent person when it comes to getting frequent hair cuts.  So when I do get a cut (usually once or twice a year) I make it count. My hubs got his hair cut by Wilson and he loved it.  So for convenience sake (I've got to bring the little one with me), I decided to get my hair cut here too.

Maybe it's cause I'm used to super girly salons, but he's not much of a chatter box.  Honestly, It was a little comforting not having to keep up conversation.  But at the same time, I wish he had asked me more about my hair before cutting, like how do I usually style it - I'm a mother of a newborn. I don't style it at all. I barely brush it.  Or how I normally wear my hair - my hair is wavy and I hardly ever straighten it.  Certain things that I didn't even think to tell him since other stylists have asked me those things first.

So he diligently listened as I told him the length I wanted, and how I wanted it to look.  Afterwards, I have to admit - it looked great!  I had awesome hair for 2 days.  BUT, that's cause he took the time to straighten it.  Unfortunately when I got around to washing it and letting it air dry (as usual) it looked a little funky.  Not sure if it's even fixable, so I've been wearing a lot of pony tails.  I'm giving it a few months to grow out before trying to get another cut.  Luckily it's summer and I'd normally wear my hair up anyway.

I mean, it's just hair - it will grow out again.  But I may have to go back to my girly salons and let my hubs get his hair cut here.  Four stars for Wilson for at least making my hubs looks good!

Decided to try Wilson's based upon Yelp reviews.  It was last minute, but I thought I call and see if there was an opening on a Saturday.  Wilson said he could fit me as the last appointment of the day.

Got there a little early, and checked in.  the place was hopping.  ended up having to wait a bit, but Wilson stopped by more than once to make sure I understood why and how much longer.  Great communication.
Haircut was well worth it.  Asked me good questions about what type of haircut I wanted and really listened to the answers.  Best haircut I have had since I moved to town.  walked out with the cut I wanted.
Staff was friendly, communicative, and professional.
only gave 4 stars due to the wait.  will update that depending upon next visit.
Calling to schedule my next cut now.

I am always excited and happy whenever I get my hair cut at Wilson's salon. Wilson is very good at what he's doing.  He's up-to-date with his techniques and trends.  He listens to what you want, but also advises you what goes well with your frame, and the end result is always satisfying not to mention makes you look 10 years younger.  I highly recommend you ask him to show you how to style at home and what products are good for you after the color/cut.  It makes a big difference! I have been going to Wilson for last 7 years and every cut is perfect!

I couldn't stand having my hair long anymore and with an 8 mo. old that grabs everything in sight, I decided it was time to get it cut...today.  When I called the salon, I tried to get an appointment with Wilson but he wasn't available until Thursday so I asked if someone else was available (I don't usually ask for a same day appointment but because I knew I wanted a bob cut and not any highlighting/perming, I figured Wilson would have a partner that would be good at what he does).  I hadn't even read the other yelp reviews about Jean-Marie but he did cut my hair a bit shorter than I originally had thought he would (I had my glasses off and couldn't see). I'm totally okay with it as I wanted a change and I trusted him to make it look great in the end...which it did.

Before cutting, I had showed him pictures of what I think I wanted and asked him for his opinion, whether or not it would work for me.  He told me that the cut wouldn't quite look like the first picture I showed him because I wanted aspects from the second picture...Anyway, he understood what I wanted and my cut turned out fabulous!  He took a long time with it but I would sort of expect that with a bob cut, layered in the back, longer in the front.

I talked to him quite a bit and found out he is from Paris (France) and had vigorous training before he came to the States.  He speaks French, Italian, and English.  Language is always key (especially if you want a cut that's precise or you are picky about your styling)...that being said, he would do well w/ any of you French or Italian speakers out there.  His English is really not bad either...I would recommend being very specific and if possible showing him pictures (which I think is a better way to convey what you want anyway, most of the time).

I had a fabulous experience at Wilson's salon- thank you Yelp for finding me another gem!

I made an appointment a couple weeks before to make sure I was able to get my time slot for early Saturday morning.  I also asked how much it would be to get an up-do for a wedding that I was going to and it was 65.00 which was actually how much I was charged when I did my hair as well.

Wilson's Salon is just at the corner of Murphy Street and Washington so you can either get lucky by finding parking on the street or right across the street in the Macy's lot.

The salon is super modern and chic.  With white walls and red paint designs and there was a flat screen TV playing a Madonna concert.  Super enjoyed that. Also the blow dryer was hanging from the ceiling so he had to pull it down- very nifty.

So when you are going in for an up-do its preferred to have your hair dirty (like not washing for 1 or 2 days) so that the style will stay longer.  I accidentally wet my hair because I went running before the appointment and was going to wash my hair.

Wilson ended up having to blow dry my hair before working on it.  Sorry!  So I totally didn't have an idea what I wanted to do with my hair.  I showed him the dress I was wearing and said yeah I want it to be up- maybe a side loose bun and make sure it stays throughout the day since I'll be at a ceremony than dancing at a reception.  It took close to an hour for him to curl my hair, tease it, and bobby pin it death.

It came out great!  I got soo many compliments about my hair even some people took pictures of my hair as inspiration for their future up-do's and it totally stayed the entire night.

Yeah I def want to come back and try cutting my hair with Wilson.  How can you go wrong with a guy that wears a t shirt that has Chanel on it and wears a tattoo arm sleeve and studded boots.  Dope!

    They accept cash/card/check.

I just walked out with the best haircut I've ever had.  Moved down to S-vale a year ago but continued to go to my guy in SF (and wasn't even that happy with that guy). Getting my hair cut is in my top ten of angst-filled activities.  Will I need to sell a kidney to pay for a decent cut?  Will I look like a clown?  Will the hair dresser be honest about what works and doesn't?  Can I replicate it once I get home?!
Wilson is the answer to all my fears.  He listened to what I wanted (follow my natural fall line, bangs, and something low maintenance.  read = i barely blow dry my hair, much less brush it).  Then I gave him creative license.  He spent an hour on me and really gave me a cut that accentuates my features and took such care the whole time.  I am so happy with Wilson and the new look that if I ever move again, I'm flying / driving major distances to keep him as my hairdresser!!

I've been able to visit Wilson at his new salon twice now... and I'm digging the new digs.  The location is better  (corner of Murphy and Washington) and the place is a great cut above the old place.

Wilson's as busy and popular as ever (it could be because he was just about to take off to Japan for vacation), and there's a reason why!  The last two hair cuts weren't so much about finesse (no razors these times), just solid hair cuts.  Me likely.

FYI - I have long hair and my cut ($65) took about 45mins-1 hr for the whole process of wash, cut, and style.

I just got a Brazilian Blowout done here and it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have super, super curly hair that was hurting something bad because I straighten it all the time. Split-ends like no other, yo. And then, a miracle occurred and this treatment arrived!

I had considered getting my hair permanently straightened, but was wary about having to go in every few months to get it re-done because of the curly line that becomes apparent at the top of your head otherwise.

The beauty of the brazilian blowout is that your hair becomes curly all-over after a few months, and you do not have to deal with an embarrassing ring on your head. If you are too broke to get it done again, you can wait without adding additional stress. Plus, your hair just gets more wavy/has more volume, so you end up having the best of both worlds for a good while (wavy, frizz-free hair).

I think that was actually the biggest surprise: the fact that my hair is no longer frizzy!!!! I am still in shock. I'll upload a picture of my hair in a few minutes... it's crazy how straight and shiny and beautiful it is!!

Everyone who is tired of straightening their hair every day and / or wants healthier, frizz-free hair, should definitely get this! It doesn't use harsh chemicals, actually makes your hair more healthy, and aftercare is like $100 for the shampoo, conditioner, and serum you have to apply (should last about a month, I think... we'll see).

Message me if you have any questions! Also check out the before and after pics at the brazilian blowout website: http://www.brazilianbl...

I love Wilson's!!! And btw, ask for Ana... she's AWESOME/really knows what she's doing!!! :)

I'm writing this update because the manager of Wilson's Salon contacted me to make things better. He offered to give a refund or redo...I think it's great that they care enough about their customer's happiness, and their salon's reputation that they are willing to go above and beyond to make things better.

Customer service goes a long way with me, especially since not all businesses conduct themselves with the customer in mind. I'm giving the five stars for the customer service that I was shown by the management staff. Not very many salons are willing to offer refunds or redo's and Wilson's did--I respect that.

I'm glad Wilson finally got his own place!

Below is my review for Wison when he was at a previous location.

    -------
    Wilson - Fantastic

I was recently in a bind... I was about to head of of town, and my hair needed some serious attention. I scanned Yelp for hair stylists that also had positive reviews from men. I took a chance with Wilson, and he was very accommodating - he opened up shop early just so I could get my hair done before I had to leave town. He did a fantastic job listening to my needs and getting my hair to look the way I wanted.

Wilson is my good friend and hands down the best hair stylist on earth! I am so happy for Wilson and his BRAND NEW AMAZZZZING Contemporary drop dead gorgeous salon that is lavishly decorated with decor from Italy. Strategically located on the corner of the historic Murphy  St. smack dab in Downtown Sunnyvale which hosts summer series live music, farmers market, and downtown nightlife.

You will love the new salon and of course love Wilson's style, prices, skills, and is overall warm positive personality.

    GO Wilson!

After receiving a disastrous cut and highlight from Planet Hair (see my review on their page), and after reading the glowing reviews about Wilson, I made an appointment at his new salon.

    One word: Amazing.

Wilson LISTENS. He's intuitive. He's professional. He's incredibly talented. And, his salon is kick-ass. Hair dryers suspended from the ceiling. Cool decor. His staff is extremely courteous and hip. I felt as though I had known them all for years, even though I just met them.

And the cut? Fan-freaking-tastic. Wilson had to do quite a bit to fix the mess Planet Hair did to my hair. He did a tremendous job.

I think I just found my new permanent stylish. I heart Wilson. ;-)

I just left Wilson's Salon and i LOVE my new haircut.

Today was my first time stepping into this salon.. and due to the great reviews, I decided to give this place a try.

I'll admit, I was a little nervous since I only trusted a few to cut my hair and I'm very picky of how I want it done. But Wilson definitely cut my hair the way I wanted, especially just like the picture I showed him in a hair styling magazine.

He even gave me really great tips on how he was able to put volume and body in my new sexy layered hair. It's bouncy when I walk and I feel like a model! :)

Now I see why this place is always rated 5 stars. I will be coming back soon and will be referring him to all my friends. Amazing job Wilson!

This guy knows how to cut hair. It's not just a case of what he wants to do, he'll do what he thinks will work best on your head. A great cut.

Salon is nicely done too, though that kind of stuff doesn't bother me so much as walking out with a great haircut!

Thanks yelpers for the referral to Wilson and his salon.  I just had my haircut today and can't remember the last time I've been so happy walking out of a salon.  I gave Wilson two restrictions with regards to my haircut 1) I'm a wash and go person and 2) I'd prefer it not be cut much above the shoulders.  He took all that into consideration and I walked out looking far more gorgeous than when I walked in.  I'm looking forward to going back again, and again, and again.....and I told my husband he needs to go to Wilson when next due for a cut.

One yelper noted that it was easiest to park in the Macy's parking lot.  This is worth noting since there is currently a lot of construction going on in downtown Sunnyvale.

Wilson's is suberb value, excellent service and my hair has never looked so good.  Maybe I'll let him try some color next time????

Wilson helped save a cut I'd had done by an expensive stylist in Palo Alto that made me look just like my mom. Unlike the other stylist he understood immediately what I wanted by pixie cut, and confirmed the length with me before setting to work. Ended up with a great edgy cut - super happy.

Quiet, just the way I like it, in a rockin' salon with a super funky atmosphere. I didn't feel judged for my homebrew platinum and Wilson did a great job with my fried mop. Anna has an awesome funky colored 'do so I'd definitely be happy going to her for something edgy as well.

    This review is for Christian/Tommy:

It sounded like he said "Kristin" as his name, but that might be because my name is Kristin and I'm sensitive about hearing everyone and their dog named Krist(i/e)n.

I told him what I wanted. I wanted something kinda drastic for my long, curly hair. Length to mid-neck, lots of layers, full head of curls with side swept bangs. And I have to say, I really started freaking out as chunks of my hair fell to the floor and he kept evening and adding texture and layering. Oh, heavens, this is going to be one of those awful, no-clue-about-curly-hair experiences. And boy was I wrong.

Okay, so I wasn't too crazy about how he straight styled it, but once I washed it, gelled it, and straightened my bangs, it was P-E-R-F-E-C-T. I've gotten so many compliments on my new hairstyle and each time I fix it in the morning, I smile. The bill came out to about $66 with tip, which I consider pretty normal.

PLUS! During the wash and and condition, he gave the best scalp massage I've experienced at a salon. I might have drooled.

I'll definitely be coming back here. I'll likely come back here after I move back to Oakland. =)

I'm transporting my original review over from Wilson's previous salon Planet Hair (which now blows - no pun intended).  I've been going to Wilson for about 3 years now, and my original review still stands.

"I've been going to Wilson for the past 6 months now, and lets just say he holds it down.  The first time I went in for a haircut, I had no idea what I was doing (had been shaving my dome piece with clippers for the past few years).  Wilson was able to translate my vague and cryptic request into a perfect new hairstyle for me (a toned down version of his own hairstyle coincidentally).  I now run faster, jump higher, and pee farther thanks to Wilson =P  Ok, so maybe that's an exaggeration, but he was trying to hook me up with the cute female hair dressers there which is always welcome!  Bottom line: Wilson is a homeboy"

Add me to the list of people who are very pleased with Wilson's Salon. I've been a client of Wilson's for a couple of years (even before this specific salon opened). He does an amazing haircut/style - especially considering my hair is fading fast! He tries his best to accommodate your schedule and I've been satisfied most every time after getting a haircut. I've even had Anna cut my hair and felt equally pleased. I highly recommend.

I just moved out of Sunnyvale and to South San Jose so I will reluctantly be looking for a new location. I can't imagine I'll find one like this. Any suggestions?

I had my hair done last week after calling in THAT afternoon! What a steal!

I had my hair done by Paul (he lives in the OC but is up here every once in awhile). But Wilson does and awesome job too! I saw him do color and a cut and it was FAB! I am going back next week to get my color done.

Wilson, your salon is great and you listen to your customers. You have a fab business!

And vivienne hooked my eyebrows up! You go girl!
