My husband hates it when I go here.
Love this place for its selection of casual/dressy/sport shoes. It specializes in comfort shoes, but a lot of the styles are cute/fashionable too (some brands: Puma, Merrell, Born, Clark's, Ecco, Keen, Earth). That's good because I'm too damn old to buy shoes I can't walk in.
A couple weeks ago, I bought a pair of brown suede Azaleia boots marked down for clearance. They had a promotion: buy one pair at original price (boots were $89) and get another pair free. So I got another pair of cute sneaker-type shoes for spring, FOR FREE - saved about $70!
See, so it was a good deal!! My husband was still mad, though.
This shop is simply splendid. The salespeople were beyond friendly and all but literally bent over backwards to find me exactly what I needed. I have shopped here multiple times and have never once been disappointed or left feeling snubbed like I do in so many other Evanston businesses. The ambiance is quirky and very unique--just like the selection. I will be making many more happy returns and passing on the word!
While I did manage to get two very cute pairs of flats last summer at this place (during a mega sale they had), I've had little luck since then. None of the shores really appeal to me. A bit crunchy, probably not stuff you'll go to the bars in. I went today in search of some cute flats and heels and left empty-handed, as I expected. Evanston lacks the shoe stores for the fashion-minded, so I'll head downtown for my shoe fetish.
The service is not all that great sometimes but..... YAY! They have a great selection of cool, smart artsy shoes at affordable prices. You can get some great deals if you go often!
I've been in this store a couple of times, but I've never bought anything. The store is too cramped for my tastes, and many of the shoes are just not my style. However, I was mostly put off by the sales ladies discussing the poor grammar of those who responded to their question of "How are you" by saying "I'm good" rather than "I'm well".
Don't get me wrong, I can be a grammar snob, too, but I'm not so rude as to talk about it JUST after someone says something incorrectly, while they're browsing nearby.
I enjoy looking at their interesting women's shoe selection. This store introduced me to cydwoqs - and I love the old, not dated, shop front.
Great selection of shoes. This is the place to go if you have sensitive or difficult-to-fit feet, and you can find a wide range of comfortable and even cute shoes, including Reikers, Clarks, etc. Great stuff, reasonable prices.
Unfortunately, the service is terrible. The sales staff is rude and indifferent.
The service is just standard, but the selection is great for such a small store. It's my favorite shoe store in the Chicago area (so far) but part of that is due to my personal preference for the styles carried there.
I have found some GREAT shoes here. It's totally hit or miss though, so go often. Was just in there a week ago and all they had were "comfort" shoes. I'm hoping their fall selection will bring some great things.
The pretty window display caught my eye. Kind of reminded me of the types of shoes that Bree from Desperate Housewives would buy! Lots of color, lots of style, and they also sell good walking shoes. This has more of a classic shoe store feel to it, with a nice, friendly staff. Also, that giant SALE sign caught my attention too.
They have a great selection of name brand shoes from Merrell, Born, Indigo, Keen, and Puma. The staff are very helpful and there are lots of really cute shoes here. It is difficult to not buy way too many pairs!
This is a decent shoe store with a good selection of shoes. It can be a tad granola, but hey, it's Evanston after all. My problem is the sales staff - the service is just ok. Although I've been in the store many times, the owner never smiles or says hello. Sometimes I get the feeling that they don't care if they sell anything or not. I'm all for leaving the customer be, but it wouldn't hurt them to be friendlier. Perhaps if the owner tried harder, the sales staff would too.
