Get the buffalo burger, it's the best! They make & sell their own tartar sauce, don't forget to buy a jar to enjoy it at home. This place is an Ellensburg burger must!

We were coming through town on our way back from a select baseball tournament in Moses Lake and we took to http://yelp.com to find a great place for lunch.
This place is a little bit out of the way but like other yelpers have mentioned, the 5 minute drive out of town is worth it.
It's the typical mom & pop type joint where you step into a tiny burger shack, get in line with the rest of the locals and read through the endless choices for burgers, shake flavors and onions rings or fries. The decor is a throwback to the 70's with orange & yellow benches inside and a wall full of old time advertisements.
We decided to go with burgers, giant onion rings (a large order - about 10 rings will feed a group of 3) and shakes all around. There is only a .50 cent difference in small to large shake option and they were quite tasty so it's well worth the upcharge.
I had read each review and everyone went on and on about the tarter sauce (yellow like Dick's, not white like Ivar's) and that proved to be a great choice. The burgers were good, not great but better than most I've had. The onion rings were crazy good & thick with a panko type breading.
What was nice and unexpected was the choice of outside seating. I saw four picnic tables (both in and out of the sun) and seeing as it was such a sunny day we couldn't pass that up. The wind was wicked though and not sure if that was normal for the area so keep that one in mind.
Overall I give it a solid B+ and a fun little place to stop and get your grub on. -

Great old school drive in burgers with relish. Really loved it.

Delicious burgers and fries which are always juicy and hot. The tartar sauce is really good, it's the yellow kind of tartar sauce that reminds me of Dick's but it tastes more creamy, less relishy. The shakes are thick and rich. I love the little pepper (possibly paprika?) mixture they have at the tables which reminds me of Red Robin's red spice mixture that tastes great on fries! The service is usually pretty fast. I gave it four stars though because I was standing at the counter for about 10 minutes with my friend and they took his order but not mine. I suppose it's my fault I didn't speak up, but I was standing at the counter looking to order.

A must for burger aficionados. Not the trendy burger, but the basic burger with fries. The food is always fresh here. The fried are scalding hot and better than even McDonald's in the good old days of suet deep fryers. They are not on the main drag, which is good. Keeps the rabble away. Definitely worth the extra 5 minutes to drive up into town.

I don't know what it was about this little hole-in-the-wall burger jount that I liked so much. Oh yea, the fact that it served fresh burgers, made to orderthat was put together by someone NOT staring at a teleprompter and following directions on how the company would like you to make a burger to be cost efficient. Sure you had to walk throught he kitchen to use the bathroom, but this is supposed to be a drive through!
