1 review for William Wan DDS MD & Associates
sigh. sigh. and sigh again.
Where do I begin? I first visited Dr. Wan at his Lincoln Park location. Naive and new to the city, I passed by while walking home one day. I needed a dentist that summer, so I went in. He was great. He had tons of degrees (aside from the DDS, including an MD, I think), so I figured he was well qualified and trained. Plus, I liked the consultation. So I began seeing Dr. Wan.
Fast fwd. Move to Chicago permanently. I then learn that Dr. Wan's real office is in Chinatown (he was just working out of the LP location), so I followed him.
My retainer (permanent retainer, mind you!) has broken no less than 3 times. I mean, WTH!? It's not like I'm chewing rocks or anything.
Dr. Wan does rushed jobs. The wait times are usuallly unthinkable. And again...he does rushed jobs. He barely spends anytime on your service. He wants to get you in and out.
Oh...and once when the retainer broke, the bonding on the back of my teeth that was holding the retainer also chipped...thus leaving me w/ an unsightly space. Per usual, Dr. wan was out of the country.
Cons:
Long waits.
Rushed services.
Botched jobs.
Always out of the county A LOT---so not good if you need emergency service.
Pros:
well, Dr. wan and his wife are wonderful people. VERY nice as a person.
Customer service/service wise...not so much.
I clearly remember my retainer popping on election night (Nov 4, 2008). Called Dr. wan...he was out of town. I didn't get in to get it fixed until Jan! :( I'm just frustrated. And oh yeah---he blames it on me...and says that it's something that I'm eating. Uh...try again.
*ok...end rant* It broke again tonight---hence my angry yelp.
Oh, the clincher-----the most recent time I went to get it repaired, he suggested I get braces again. Me? Braces? AGAIN? no thanks.
I'll just go w/ Invisalign..or even better----get a dentist that can secure a permanent retainer, so that I can RETAIN my previous orthodontic treatment.
