Review from Alessa M.
Came in for restaurant week about two years ago. We have a fixed lunch menu with two appetizers and a course for $25 each person. I was with Andres and after a little money issue on my end (what can I say I wasn't working and times were incredibly tough) we made our way to Wildwood. This place is huge! I was in awe of how much detail was put into the space as well. Made me feel like I was down south for sure. After being seated out waiter took our order and we waited about 10 Min's for the first appetizers to come up. After which I had the best lunch time steak!
I usually ask for it well done because my tummy can't handle meats not cooked all the way through but even so I could taste how juicy the steak was and with the BBQ sauce I was in heaven. It was a bit tangy the sauce so mix all that together and I was one happy girl.
I've been trying to get back here for some time now so I think for 2012 I'm going to do so. I loved the ambiance I loved the people, and I haven't tried the bar. -

A couple friends and I came on a friday night, and it was packed. Glad that we made a reservation and was seated promptly after everyone's grand arrival.
The food really is less than ordinary. Sorry to be so harsh, but I came from the south! I tried the ribs, brisket, jambalaya, and beef short rib (Yes, I extended my fork and hands to everyone else's plate), and I would say the beef short rib was the better one out of all.
The best I like about this place was the corn bread and the big screen TV... -

I don't know many people who like Salt and Vinegar Chips, so that wasn't as exciting as they made it out to be
Got the Smoked Applewood Chicken, that was good, could have been 2 pieces of white meat verse 1 of each.
Waiter was extremely friendly, but really slow in bringing out drinks, maybe if they gave up those tiny jar glasses they wouldn't have to refill so often. Overall good, I can't complain about good BBQ if you want great BBQ then go have a BBQ -

OK, to start of we should know by now NYC really isn't the best place for good BBQ so maybe we are too blame.
I would like say the manager and waitress were very nice and helpful. Now onto the food: we started with the BBQ wings, we thought they were smoked. Wrong, deep fried and smothered in sauce. Not bad but def not great. The ribs were up next they OK but a little on the dry side and tough. My brisket was not bad but not up to Texas standards. The fried chicken boneless breast was pretty fatty, yuch!. The sides were OK though I didn't care for the brussel sprouts. Way too overcooked for my taste.
OK, so I would never go back seeing the meal was almost $140 for 4 meals including a kids meal and we all had water to drink. Def not worth the money. -

Mmmmmmm BBQ :) I love the exposed beams and boyfriend loves that they play all his games and we both enjoy the food.
My first time there was on a Sunday...Ha! We must have grabbed the last empty table in the restaurant (which says alot since it's nowhere near a hole in the wall). Don't expect to be able to hear what your dinner companion is saying if you stop by during a big game...or any game I guess. Their complimentary vinegar chips are not...great. The dude can't stomach them, but I eat the whole bowl. That means nothing cuz I will eat almost anything. The mason jars for water glasses is darling and they play good Christmas music (Mamacita....Donde esta Santa Claus?)
Chicken and waffles (good waffles, good (sad, small) wings, but not a fan of the chicken tenders), bbq sandwich with sliced pork (it was okay, I had to drench it in one of the bbq sauces on the table), mac n cheese (creamy with a bread crumb crust...yum!), and they have sweet potato tots! I've never seen that before...they fired up an argument with my boyfriend (Tots are NOT Fries!!). I haven't been super lucky with the menu but I just know that I'm gonna fall in love with something here...just have a feeling. The menu is full of amazing sounding fattiness and I'll be damned if I don't try everything on it at least once! -

Needed some Tums after this meal. It was a challenge to eat everything that came out but then again we probably ordered too much. We ordered the chicken nachos to start which probably killed our appetite for dinner (fatal mistake!) It was good, but too much even for a table of 5. The shrimp and deep fried jalapenos I'd recommend as a better way to start the meal. The KC style ribs were tasty but I imagined they would be a tad juicier and not so dry. I opted for a half rack ($15) and added two pieces of fried chicken for $6 which I think is a great deal. The fried chicken you can get regular or spicy. Opted for spicy despite the waiter's warnings (hey, we're Asian, we can handle it you figure). Crap man, that chicken was ridiculously spicy. We were sweating our balls off after a few bites. I wouldn't go as far as saying it was good though. I just wasn't a fan of the seasoning. I'll probably try the dry rub ribs next time. And be forewarned, a full rack of baby back ribs is a lot of food even for one. Definitely best to be shared. They do a whole roasted pig roast on Tuesdays which I'm tempted to try (albeit it's pricey). I've seen pictures and its definitely a sight to be seen (just don't bring any animal activists because I think there's literally a whole pig sitting on your table, head and legs intact).

Horrible... Made a reservation from open table for NYC restaurant week thinking this was one of the better restaurants. Boy was I wrong!!! Horrible service (we were sat next to the service bar on a 4 top that had conveniently been transformed into a 2 top and i was bumped into a dozen times by servers butts and various body parts. When the food came it was totally sub par ... Would definatly go to RUB instead

I just came back from my first Wildwood outing- a birthday dinner- and my experience simply could not have been worse.
Service was the main issue. 15 minutes passed before our drink order was taken and then another 30(literally!) before the drinks arrived. When they finally did, I looked down at a Julep glass sans liquid- $12 seems steep for just sugar, mint & ice. Ok, honest mistake, but when I mentioned the bourbon oversight to the waiter, he insisted there was no mistake and that I had to wait for the ice to melt. And so it began.
In fairness my food was quite good. I enjoyed the bacon trio appetizer quite a bit. What's better than bacon? 3 kinds of bacon! And each was unique, flavorful and well prepared. I followed this with the rib sampler and both the spareribs and babyback ribs were actually fantastic.
With these successes in mind, I did my best to look through the rose-colored glasses and give the rest of the experience a passing grade so that I could come back and maybe catch the whole operation on a better night.
They simply refused to let it happen. The service somehow got even worse as the night dragged on and then the kicker... I arrived home to put my leftovers in the fridge and realized the container was open. Then when I leaned in to close the box, I discovered one happy little cockroach meandering through the remnants of my rib sampler. Happy Birthday to me!
I can't think of any excuses for this kind of experience. Never again. -

Really, really tasty BBQ! The Apricot glazed chicken was so juicy and flavorful, with a nice applewood smokiness. The baby back ribs had a nice smoke ring. The rub really shined too with celery coming through just slightly. Really, really nice food! Now add in the phenominal bourbon and american whiskeys on offer and bazinga! Not to forget the ice cream is specially made and was rich, sweet and the vanilla I had was flavorful. Mmmm. Great wait staff too. Ah.

Very good BBQ food and friendly Serivce!
I came with friends, and for starters we shared the chicken wings and nachos. The wings were delicious, but the nachos had hardly any cheese and no flavor. Portions are huge by the way.
For my main entree, I had a tangy Smoked Texas Brisket, which I highly recommend. I was very impressed the smoky flavor and the softness of the meat. I had the option of using 3 different types of BBQ sauces on the side. It was well worth it.
I higly recommend skipping the appetizers and jumping right on ahead to the main course because the portions are huge and you can easily loose your appetite. -

I arrived at Wildwood BBQ by accident. I was trying to kill time before going to a show at Irving Plaza and happened to stumble upon this fancy looking BBQ place I had heard so much about.
I decided to sit at the bar in order to buy some time before my boyfriend got out of work. The bartenders were consistently attentive even though people poured in throughout the night.
The bar atmosphere was an after-work type with intents to get a little toasty, bitch about their least favorite co-worker, and then bond after hard day's work. In fact, I think I heard the same exact conversation twice. The only difference was the name being used.
The on-tap beer menu had quite the list of local and out-of-state microbrews. In fact, I was only acquainted with two of them. Impressive.
And then came out the "bird." Oh the absolute glorious "Dirty Bird" which consisted of pulled chicken, jack cheese, and bacon garnished with a side of onion rings and vinegar chips.
The bun was soft and absolutely delicious (something that came out of the potato bread family kingdom). I bit further into the glorious BBQ pulled chicken. It was cooked to perfection and coated with this sweet-tangy-spicy BBQ sauce that continuously popped like a wonderful symphony in my mouth.
Next time, I'll pass on the vinegar kettle style chips that come along with any sandwich. My boyfriend devoured his so I'm guessing the taste of these chips is a personal preference.
I'll admit, I haven't been to places like Fette Sau or Blue Smoke....but I really can't imagine BBQ could get any better than this. -

This place is a serious guilty pleasure.
Yes, it's gargantuan. It's more like a factory and has a kind of TGI Fridays feel to it.
However, anyone who has spent time in the South knows that the authentic experience there nowadays DOES feel a lot like an Applebees...so in that sense, well executed.
Food is damn good. Three Little Pigs is a favorite. -

Hell yeah! You gotta love it when your boss decides to throw everyone an impromptu BBQ lunch and has it catered right to the office. I am eating it right now as I am typing this. My keyboard will be covered in sauce and rib bones by the time I am done!
This is my first chance to savor Wildwood BBQ's food and I must say I am not disappointed.
Chicken wings are pretty good. Decent seasoning and big wings.
House made potato chips. Nice salt and vinegar coating.
Mac and cheese. Creamy and light coating of crispy bread crumbs on top.
Mashed potatoes. Pretty basic. Nothing special.
Kansas City baby back ribs - Wet & Slathered with Spicy Chipotle Barbeque Sauce. Juicy with great taste, with lots of meat that comes right of the bone. More of a "wet" style.
Memphis style baby back ribs- Dry Rubbed with Wildwood Spice Blend. Really nice smokey flavor, moist, with lots of meat, and not as fatty as the Kansas City ribs.
Both the rib styles get a two thumbs up YUMMY from me!
Since this review is based solely on Wildwood BBQ catering our lunch at our office I am only judging on the food, and not the costs or actual restaurant. Based on the food alone it seems really good and I will have to make a future trip to eat there.
Good thing I have an office. Time to close the door and take a nap now.Listed in: Steak & Ribs & BBQ - Oh My!

I LOVE WILDWOOD!
Things to get: wings, boneless wings, mahimahi tacos, cornbread!, bourbon, beer, chili, and the "three little pigs" plate.
Problems:
I go here a lot. That's not going to change, but their service has declined a noticeable amount in the past couple weeks. I get that the kitchen can get backed up but at Wildwood when that happens, the entire place goes to hell. Servers are ill equipped to deal with a full restaurant and a backed up kitchen. It doesnt happen often, and it's understandable, but its annoying when the waitstaff forget about you while trying to check on orders. They should go o Houstons/Hillstone and learn a couple things about proper service.
Making a reservation here is a joke as well. I've never made a reservation on Opentable and actually gotten seated when I walked in. It's almost as if your reservation just gets you in the queue with the walk ins... horrible hosting.
But i'll return because I'm a sucker for good BBQ and these guys know how to do that... and theyre closer to me than any other bbq place.Comment from Alexis H. of Wildwood BBQ 11/8/2011

I think this restaurant is underrated. Wandered in with fiance not expecting much, left very satisfied. Amazing brisket (get the fatty kind), corn bread, and mashed potatoes. We ordered an extra side of corn bread to go cause of how good it was.
The sports game was blasting around us, they turned down the volume a bit upon request. People around us seemed to be enjoying themselves, and the staff is friendly. -

I had high hopes for this place. Maybe I was spoiled because I lived in Raleigh for a year and had good Carolina style BBQ. I am not partial to vinegar style sauce or red bbq sauce, I give all BBQ a chance. My boyfriend and I often make the walk from Kips Bay (where his apartment is) to Union Square to get on the L to Brooklyn (to my apartment) So we have to pass through Gramercy. I had been wanting to try this place for a while, so when my mom came to visit (the bill was on her lol) we decided to go.
I work in a restaurant, so I am pretty picky about service. We were quickly shown to our seats, by a hostess, but the manager just stood there on his blackberry, not greeting us, which I found odd, because my managers at work slather on friendliness when guests walk through the door...I digress, anyway...we sat down and within a few minutes we were greeted by a server who took our drink order. But then she disappeared from the floor. (I assumed she was cut) But no one came back with drinks...then after 15 minutes some other server showed up without introduction, explanation and asked if we wanted to order drinks. We explained to him that we had already ordered with another server. He said "Oh" and walked away. 10 minutes later someone else came out with our drinks. Then the second server came back to get our order.
My mom ordered the bbq melt sandwich, which included sliced pork, melted pepper jack cheese, deep fried onions, and garlic mayo, Which she said was delicious. but she hated the homemade salt and vinegar chips. My boyfriend ordered the half rack of kansas city baby back ribs. He said they were edible, but he would never eat them again. He said they were dry and kind of tough. He wasn't offered any sides, which may have been his fault because he didn't think to order them. But my mom just passed off her chips to him. I ordered the three little pigs (because I like to try a little bit of everything), even though I can never finish anything) The pulled pork was meh, nothing special. The thick bacon was good, but I ended up giving the rest to the bf. The spare ribs were actually quite delicious, despite the fact that I had to send back the first order because I found a hair in it....Again, I gave some to the bf, maybe I had just lost my appetite. The server was nice enough, he was very apologetic when I found the hair, but he wasn't a good up-seller (maybe it's the server in me).
We decided to order dessert to somehow redeem our meal, We ordered the triple chocolate brownie sundae...It was okay. The brownies tasted like they were frozen then defrosted, stale, and dry. Mediocre at best.
Food quality was meh, the service was kind of lame too. Overall, skip this place-go to Blue Smoke, it's pricier, but so worth it. -
Review from David W.
Alright, I've heard so much about this place from co-workers that claim this spot is amazing, that I've constantly made it a point to try this place out. I've spent my time living in both the brisket capital of the world and the pulled pork capital of the world...so I was happy to see if the hype was worth it here.
Sadly, it's not. The brisket was way too lean and dry...you gotta keep the fat on when you smoke it, but it doesn't appear that they do. The pulled pork...uhh, it was more chopped pork I guess and again, way too dry. The best thing about this place was actually the chicken...the only thing nice and juicy that was delivered to my table. For sides, we had mac and cheese, no flavor, tasted like something straight out of a box, and tater tots. Okay...the tater tots were good, but that's probably more of a function of knowing how to get the right temperature on a deep fryer.
Now the ONLY redeeming quality about this place, is it's barbecue sauce. It's good...maybe the best in NYC good. And when you pour it onto your meat, everything else might become passable. -
Review from Kevin W.
Not cheap, but nowhere in Manhattan is cheap for BBQ.
Their baby back ribs were absolutely delicious (wet ones).
The bigger pork spare ribs (dry rubbed) were just ok. You get WAY more meat on those ribs and better value, but they just didn't taste as good or tender and you really had to slather on the sauce to give it some extra kick. -

1. Food: Got the Jambalaya, the Three Little Pigs, and the Texas Smoked Brisket. Mac n Cheese, Collard Greens, Cornbread, and Sweet Potato Fries. Mostly decent and average. In a fit of health consciousness, I got the combo lean and moist brisket. Mistake! The lean was dry and unsatisfactorily lean. Go moist all the way. The cornbread and the sweet potato fries were the best! Thinking of returning to eat just those.
2. Service: It was a pretty busy night, and the servers were pleasant, but stretched thin.
3. Atmosphere: NFL happy hour is on! Which meant there were lots of suits standing around drinking alcohol. A couple on a blind date, a family complete with a baby carriage, and lots of corporate types. At least six flat screens broadcasting the major sports games. Loud and boisterous. -
Review from Tanya S.
First off, fantastic bourbon selection.
Second, pretty good food. I've been twice now (for Saturday lunch).
My only reservation on this place is I feel like it's a bit too "easy" (read: corporate). That said, it's the PERFECT place to take visitors who are picky eaters (you know, those relatives who think Olive Garden or Outback is quality dining and would rather die than try any sort of ethnic cuisine).
Amazing sweet potato fries. I've also had the regular bbq sauce ribs (I'm too lazy to look up the exact name) and the pork/pepper jack sandwich.
I would definitely order both again. -
Review from Jon C.
Raise your hand if you think good BBQ is hard to find in NYC. Is that 10 million or so hands I see? So what gives? My exhaustive research has led me to believe that air quality restrictions limit "open pit" smoking in NYC, hence the general lack of tasty selections. Stupid EPA.
Ok ok, now for my review. Wildwood is, how do I say it, a very good choice in a sea of mediocrity. If you're from the Lousianna, Tennessee or Texas, stop reading now and just eat steak when you come to NYC. The ribs are decent, the brisket-pretty darn good, the pork-so-so and the apps - well the bottle caps are pretty darn good, too. Good beer selection too. And, to top it off, the price isn't all that bad.
It doesn't get too much better in NYC for BBQ. -

Review from Annie S.
I came here for dinner with a friend several months ago. Right off, I liked the feel of the place. Goes for the Southern vibe, obviously -- lots of wood, with a sort of airy feeling to it. The place is huge, though the tables are a bit close together. Luckily we got a booth on the side.
We started off with drinks -- I got the Raspberry Shrub, which, while pricier than I'd like, was very good.
Our waitress suggested corn bread to start and I was feeling open to suggestions and an appetizer, so we said why not. Now I am not Southern, I don't have any family down south, and besides Florida, I've only been to NOLA, but I have to say, this was the BEST cornbread I've ever had. It comes out fresh and hot on a pan, so you can cut your own pieces. I started off small and then I figured, what the hell and we practically just cut the thing in half.
I got the grilled chicken sandwich, which I smothered in their fantastic BBQ sauce, and my friend got the pulled pork, which he loved. Fries were good, but it's hard to go wrong there. Corn on the cob was so-so.
The prices are a little more expensive than your average BBQ joint and I'm not sure if it is worth the price to come often, but it is definitely good.Listed in: Winnah Winnah Chicken Dinnah

Review from Steve A.
I went here for a work lunch and swore that I've never been here. But then I realized that I used to date a bartender here. The reason I point this out is because the atmosphere here at night at the bar versus sitting down and eating are two completely different experience that you could make the same mistake but I digress. There were twelve of us and all of us received our food and drinks promptly. We ordered a shit ton of food and the staff did their best with my co-workers annoying questions about the menu. Also if you are into sports, there are flat screens all over the place and unfortunately on this day we had to deal with the media's dick riding of Teebow toting him as the second coming. I had the Jambalaya Southern-Style Paella with Chicken, Andouille Sausage & Shrimp as well as the Caesar Salad with Cornbread Croutons and Chipotle Dressing. Was it good? Woo-woo-woo...you know it. I had never heard of cornbread croutons, but now I am a fan for life because who can turn down cornbread in crouton form? A fool that is who. The paella had the right amount of kick to it and I loved the chicken, sausage, and shrimp equally. We ordered a bunch of apps to split amongst the table, but honestly I forgot what we had. There were drinks consumed. I will back to Wildwood in the new year.

*This is a RW Review*
It's dimly lit, wooden trestle beams, picnic table like booths, and metal overhanging spot lights, reminded me of a barn. With plenty of giant flat screen TV's all over the walls, it's hard to miss any of the action. It's very loud from that going on, so not a place to catch up or have a long conversation.
We got the 3 course Prix Fixe dinner specials, and ordered an extra appetizer of jerk chicken wings and corn bread to share. The jerk chicken was extra charred, dry, and tasted old.
For apps we all got the scallops. They were small and cooked pretty well, but they were smeared with tons of BBQ sauce. Not exactly how I want scallops to taste, the BBQ sauce overpowered the dish.
The corn bread was pretty good and arrived in a square cast iron dish. Our mains however were disappointing. We tried the chicken fried steak, marinated skirt steak, and assorted rib platter. My favorite of them all was the chicken fried steak. It was tender and the gravy over it was of good consistency. The two guys got the skirt steak and were sorely disappointed at the few strips of steak they received once it arrived. I ended up giving them some of my ribs. The ribs were just ok, they weren't falling off the bone, and they didn't have any flavor except the sauce on the outside. We doused them with the BBQ sauce that was available on the table.
I feel like this is another chain BBQ restaurant that just slathers the sauces on top of the food. Nothing actually penetrates and no care is given to the actual preparation of the foods. That's why they offer a variety of BBQ sauces on the table. -

This place was awesome! Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The atmosphere and food was great! I got the crispy chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy were delicious! My boyfriend got the pig platter and it took him almost 2 hours to eat it all but he thoroughly enjoyed it all and loved the different BBQ sauces. To top it off we got the triple chocolate brownie sundae was amazing if you're a chocolate lover but it is too much for just 2 people to eat. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be going there again!

I had the pulled pork sandwich for takeout service. Sandwich was pretty good. Moist and tender pork. The sandwich with chips and a small slaw was around $11.00. A little pricey......but it is located on Park Ave....so you figure it isn't gonna be cheap.
Would like to go back and try some of their other offerings. -

The boyfriend surprised me with a birthday dinner here with all my friends and we all had a great time. The food can be a bit pricey, but it is worth the price...for the most part.
We started with some wings which were so good. The chicken was juicy and not dry, but a little pricey. The boyfriend and I shared two sides and a full rack of ribs and ended up bringing home half a side and half a rack of ribs. Ribs were good, didn't blow me out of the water, but still really good.
Our waitress was really nice and we had great service. Food came out pretty fast. I wouldn't come here to drink as a pitcher of beer cost us $26. I will come back here again, but wouldn't put it on my list of regular places to go. It's a fun, lively atmosphere, but can get really pricey. Great place for groups and a once in awhile splurge. -

Slammin' mac & cheese, but the cornbread was only decent and pretty small (served in a round skillet and slightly larger than a CD). It's a great space for big parties, with a wide beer selection.
I shared the chicken/brisket/pork combo, which was definitely big enough for two (all that meat!) and pretty good - a nice combo of spicy and sweet, and I enjoyed their sauces. -

Unbelievably, Wildwood BBQ was my third BBQ dinner in a week. Normally I go maybe once every few months. We headed here because a friend from Hong Kong wanted an "American" dinner and buffalo wings. Duke's around the corner seemed a bit too sports bar fratty, and Wildwood BBQ seemed like a more upscale place...at least for a BBQ.
We tried 3 types of wings: Caribbean Jerk was my favorite and tasted crispy charred and hot off the BBQ. My friends liked the boneless wings, but to me they seemed more like strips of breast meat camouflaged as "wings". The regular buffalo wings were spicy, but just OK. The restaurant lost a star when I ate a wing that had a crushed, splintered bone, and it punctured my mouth. They really shouldn't serve broken wings!
I used to fly to Memphis each week for work. Not many restaurants north of the Mason-Dixon line can produce a great Memphis dry rub rack. Wildwood BBQ does and can proudly boast of its rack! Perfectly seasoned and cooked, the meat fell off the bone and was tender.
Service was friendly. Bar drinks were over-priced for a BBQ joint. $12-13 for a call? Next time we'll drink up first and then head over to Wildwood BBQ to pork out. -

I came here one weeknight to try out the food before running to see a show in union square. I was hoping for something delicious, filling, and wallet-friendly. This did the job.
+ Service was pleasant though it was a bit busy. Our drinks and food took a while to come out, but otherwise it was fine.
+ Happy hour specials were great. Had a draft beer for $3
+ Portions were substantial and filling
- the vinegar chips I didn't enjoy too much. The small bowl of it they serve after ordering is a comical amount, but you soon understand after finding out how sour and salty it is. It also came in a generous amount with my sandwich. At my table, it wasn't really anyone's favorite.
? Pulled brisket sandwich I was uncertain how to feel about. It was bathed in sauce, which I was unaccustomed to, and shredded. It was served on a soft roll that complemented it nicely, but everything still fell out at some point.
Although it was a sound experience, the food didn't blow me away. Worthy of trying at least once. -

I tried the Dirty Bird sandwich & definitely didn't enjoy it as much as any other meal I've had. The bun wasn't toasted at all so it was so mushy that I had to eat my sandwich with a knife & fork.
The sweet potato fries I got looked double fried (ie. cooked & then re-fried to heat them up again) - I could tell bc later on I saw someone else's fries & those looked much less dry & less dark.
The cornbread (which I couldn't find on the menu, but ordered it after seeing it at other tables) was very good.
Despite having been told I would have to vacate my table within an hour to accommodate a reservation, the wait staff never rushed me during my meal, which I appreciated.
I plan to return, but won't order these items in the future. I had a much better meal on a previous visit - I believe it was baby back ribs, pulled pork, & thick cut bacon. The seasonal brussel sprouts here are also excellent. -

It's summer; a big group wanted to get together for BBQ; I can ignore mixed reviews in such circumstances and give this a shot... basically it turned out to be an exercise in verifying mid/low ratings.
This place is on par with an Outback at a strip mall in a college town. Sure, they have lots of bourbons for fans to choose from, but it's just a cover for totally unauthentic food. -

LOVE this place! The Memphis Baby Back Ribs (dry) were so yummy and the special sweet potato tater tots they had that day were impossible to resist. The service is cheerful and solicitous and even though they moved our table midway through our meal to accommodate a larger group, they moved us to a nice booth so we didn't mind!
We intended to stay only for a quick dinner but ended up staying till they closed. The atmosphere is barbeque joint/sports bar/restaurant. It's good for anyone - guys, girls, dates, family, sports watchers. And the location is so prime close to union square. For some reason, I had this idea in my head for a long time the Wildwood BBQ was pretentious, which was why I went to Blue Smoke instead, but it completely blew me away with its food, service and ambience. The largeness of the size doesn't make it any less cozy. I love it when I get a nice surprise :)
