Was an awesome experience definitely a place to go again..on day one we did the the group rafting in the Menominee. All of is were 1st timers but our guide was awesome and taught us how to steer through the rapids...the best part was when we all jumped off in the river near the end and we just swam to shore.

We even booked a cabin which had plenty of space for 4 people equipped with satellite tv and a fully finished kitchen.
    The place was spotless.

On day 2 we did the individual rafting the Pestigo which was way better than the group rafting the day before. The guides are all cool and are ready to answer any questions and help you get out of rocks.

The golf course seemed nice and prices
    We not bad too.

Just 1 warning, you don't get much of cell phone reception there and if you do you get only 1 bar.  But the locals are really friendly.

I am from Chicago and some years back I went to Wildman with my ex-husband for our anniversary trip. We had such a good time! It was beautiful, we went whitewater rafting, we went hiking, we attempted to do the high ropes. We stayed at the hotel near by that you have hotel packages for but I would totally be willing to camp in one of the cabins that was on site. I really loved hanging out with the "Uppers"! I can't wait to go back!

Simply awesome. We went here for a package deal which I would recommend to even the casual fan of camping. For one quite reasonable price they give you 2 rapids rafting trips (1 big raft on the big river and one on a smaller one with individual inflatable canoes), they feed you breakfast and dinner for two days (and it's pretty darn good), and provide a nice well kept campsite in a very scenic area adjacent to a river. There's some quite nice hiking around there too!

The coolest part was after dinner on sat night...everyone hangs out in the big lodge/eatery area with a big ole fire in the middle drinking beer and having a good time, and there's a TOP NOTCH bluegrass type band playing on their stage.  Apparently the campground owner at one time was a pro musician, so he has blues and country guys come up to hang out and jam...except these guys are from larger named local bands of the same ilk.  I could not believe how good they were, we got the kind of entertainment some pay a club $15 for back in Chicago.

I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Totally awesome one of the best weekends of my life.  It is rare for me to go out and experience this type of adventure often.  For all the events it was my first time participating.  We had a group of 9 and shared two cabins near the main gathering area.  We arrived around 1 am on Thursday night before the fourth of July.  The woods are so dark and finding the cabins was hard but we managed.  The cabins sleep 5 to bunk beds with one a double bed.  There was a heater in the cabin and and outlet.  We had a power strip supporting a fringe, cell phones and camera batteries.  However there was very low phone reception in the woods.  The main office offers Wi-Fi and a computer to access the internet as long as you in the office it works.  Very friendly staff and an enjoyable place to stay.

Day 1-  Whitewater Rafting we had Ron as our instructor he is a cool dude that has been doing this for many years we felt safe and had a lot or fun on our adventure.  Then after lunch we went rock climbing and this was no joke a 100 ft cliff and pretty steep.  That was one of the most trilling things to do.  Getting up higher and higher up the cliff you really feel a sense of accomplishment it was really hot on the rock  and everyone made a great effort.

Day 2-  Kayaking this was a really fun and relaxing until we hit the rocks then it becomes a sport.  Battling the current and the rocks and falls really gets your adrenaline pumping.  Once again we have great instructors getting us through the trail.  Then went did the tower climb.  This was an obstacle course for climbing.  There were many different routes to chose and the suspension and swing is the highlight of the event.

The dinner they served was a BBQ chicken, continental breakfast, cold breakfast and brown bag lunch.  I didn't expect much but I have no complaints we had entertainment on the 4th of July live music food and great times.  Great getaway for building relationships and team building.  I had and wonderful time and would love to come again.

Let me start off by saying I would absolutely go back.

We had pretty much everything that could've gone wrong happen to use on the first day going through Piers Gorge.  Ron was our guide.. a freak accident happened that knocked his wits out of him (literally - one of the girls fell out and when he tried to pull her back in her paddle hit a rock and bounced back across his face)... we ended up crashing into the VW rock and capsizing our raft.. every single one of us went down the rapids.  We ALL walked away with nothing more than some bumps and bruises.  They told us this is the first time anything even close to that has happened all year.  From everything that we could see from other rafts that went down - and from all the pros around camp who knew about us before we even met them - I'm inclined to believe we are now infamous for having bit it the worst this year..

Half of us went individual white water rafting the next day on the Peshtigo. Our guides Vincent and Cliff were incredible.  They were very patient with all of us and we had a great time.  That experience was pivotal in my being very ok with everything that happened.

The professionalism and attention to safety were the things that made this a great experience.  Yes, there is obviously always a risk - that's why you have to sign all those waivers for every activity! - but even when things went wrong I never felt like I was unsafe or in bad hands.  They really took care of us and I would totally recommend going here.

I have been going to WWR, Wildman's Whitewater ranch for seven years with friends and family. This is where I introduced my kid's to rafting on the Pesthigo when they were 11 and they are now 17 and 19 and rafting the Menominee river. Billy and Lisa Wildman's Ranch has become a once/twice a year family tradition. I could write a book on WWR as well as their second venture Bombers Resort about 40 minutes away. This is the most family friendly, memory making, team and family building resort you will ever find. My two favorite guides are Tarka from Nepal who guides the Menominee trip and Cliff who guides the Peshtigo trip and teaches the high ropes course.
Ding Dang Dave plays the Blues many Saturday nights at the Back porch BBQ with Junior. Sometimes they get some headlining Chicago blues bands playing up there depending on the weekend. Do your family a favor. Go here. It will become a tradition in your family too. I promise.

This location was probably the best place I've gone camping. We would definitely go back.

On labor day weekend, they enforced a two activity minimum if you wanted to stay at a "developed" site. We only wanted to do the rafting and wasn't interested in any other activities. We settled for an "undeveloped" site which had a one activity minimum.

An "undeveloped" site was defined as site where you can pitch your tent and there's a fire ring and a picnic table. At a "developed" site, the additional features are a parking space and a grill to the side of the fire pit.  We were fortunate enough to be at the one undeveloped site where we could park our car.  We purchased a metal grate to go over the fire for our cooking. It was good enough for us!

The camp site we were at was peaceful and the river was right behind us where we did a some fishing. The site wasn't too private since there weren't many trees between sites. The only surprise was that it cost 75cents to take a shower at the "Deluxe Shower House." That info is not disclosed on the website. I've never had to pay to take a shower for camping before so it was unexpected. I was lucky to get a free shower since the person before me didn't shut the water off all the way.

The rafting was acceptable, although I've done better rafting in foreign countries.  The rafting is comparable to the skiing in Wisconsin.  It's great for first timers, but it'll never be as good as Colorado or Vancouver.
