Wild Vines isn't bad for what it is. First walking in, the place is huge. But the selections are not the greatest. There is so much space that can be filled with different products, that isn't. They will constantly be out of something or use the excuse the vendor did not bring what they requested.
I am a tequila and beer drinker. The tequila variety is lacking, Patron seems to be the supreme choice. Usually, other liquor stores will carry Espolon, Cuervo, 1800, Avion, Sauza, and other popular brands. Wild Vines only carries 1800, Avion, Patron, and a couple other high end brands that never sell. Poor selection and very limited quantities. Sometimes I do opt for wine, which they have a decent selection of.
Their beer selection is alright, nothing to write home about. It is more of a disappointment than anything. They have a minimal selection of craft brews. Most of the craft beers are local or they seemingly expired due to sitting there forever. Its not the greatest, but it does the job. Its within very close proximity to my apartment.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Kerri P.Hartford, CT9221535Jun 5, 2013
Clean and accommodating. If you're looking for something, they will walk you to the shelf and get it, instead of just lazily pointing in the general direction. If they don't have what you want, they order.
Bonus: walking distance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Staci R.Hartford, CT768567239Dec 8, 2012
This place is awesome! Nice, clean and spacious, the workers are very helpful, and I've been able to find every type of beer, wine and liquor that I've ever gone to look for as well as plenty of other options to choose from. Prices are good too. This is definitely my go-to spot for adult beverages!

After reading the reviews here, I was surprised and disappointed to find such a weak selection across the board. Its true that the staff are nice and everything is clean, but I was bored by what I had to choose from. The store is large, and currently has a lot of unused space. Wild Vines could potentially be great, once they start filling all those shelves with a better variety and better quality stuff. I'll come back when they do.

Newer place, looks like it has to grow into itself. Lots of wasted open space. Saw opus one Cabernet or something along that level, and was surprised that part of Hartford could have higher end wines. I thought it would be all 40 oz bottles and scratch off tickets. Not the best selection in the world, but if you're in a pinch, and need beer or a quick bottle of wine, this could be the place. Owner is nice and speaks English, which is nice. Follow up visits are a must to see how they do after the new shine wears off.

I love this place! Prices are reasonable, the staff is helpful and the owner is generous and kind. If they don't have what you're looking for (which is rare), they will order it for you. The quality, selection and staff make it a great place to shop. Also, the owner supports local non-profit organizations and recently sponsored Art for AIDS - they did a fabulous job and the guests were impressed by the wine selection and service.
