This was our first time at Wild Horse and we RAVED about this place the moment we drove on site clear until we got home! We were a group of about 14 people mid-20s to early 30s.
It was SUPER easy to get a reservation, the owner's wife greeted us and was SO nice (maybe it was the empty wine glass I spotted on the window sill =) ) The lawns were so well manicured, the port-a-potty was always clean, the staff was constantly going around cleaning up garbage. It was comforting to know there was a security officer rollin' around during the night watching out for sites and drunkenness.
I was a bit put-off by the outdoor, yet enclosed showers, but they were pleasantly nice (despite the low water temperature).
And as some have said, the food...my oh my it was fabulous! We were freezing the first morning there and it was free coffee to the rescue from the cafe a long with a nice breakfast burrito for just $6.
The best thing...okay 2 things...the staff was ridiculously nice and accommodating, but the complimentary shuttle: A.MAZing! They pack you in (think sardines), and really do their best to keep the shuttles coming.
We cannot wait to come back next year..and the years to follow! if you are debating between Wild Horse and the "other" campground, you need to stay here - it's definitely the 4 Seasons of Gorge camping! -

I love camping here when going to the Gorge. The people are SO nice, the grass is soft, the honey buckets are plentiful, they have sinks and showers, AND a restaurant! Which by the way, offers vegetarian options as well.
Also, they shuttle you back and forth to the Gorge. Sweeeeet!! -

It's my 100th review, Yelpers! And I can't think of a better recipient of this landmark review than one of my faaaavorite places on earth - the Wildhorse Campground!
Did you just turn 20? Do you like having everything in your tent stolen? Do you not mind using a full and disgusting port-a-potty for a whole weekend? Are you secretly hoping to get roofied while trying to make new friends with your douchey neighbors? Then DEF camp at the Gorge Campground and stay FAR AWAY from Wildhorse!
However, if you prefer clean toilets, (free) hot showers, free hot coffee in the morning, plush grass, and an awesome campground staff, come to Wildhorse!!! I mean, they have an espresso stand, for Pete's sake!!! Not only do they provide a free shuttle to 'n from the Gorge (which is about a 1/2 mile away), they also have a deeeelish (reasonably priced) cafe ready for all your breakfast/lunch/dinner/late night/whenever needs. One word for you : Wil'burger!
I always look forward to staying at Wildhorse whenever I head to the Gorge for a show. -

We stayed here for Sasquatch X and had a really great stay.....
The grass was soft and beautiful...which made tent camping easy and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and pleasant to be around.
The food is actually really awesome too! The Wildburger and Garlic fries really hit the spot coming back late from the Gorge. The food staff are awesome and entertaining. They had a water gun filled with Rum and were shooting it in customers mouths. Also the grill cook was downing a bottle of Whiskey....LOL
They have port-a-potties that they keep pretty clean.....way better than using the ones at the Gorge campground "scary"!
The shuttle is awesome! -

Tons better than the gorge campground, and I think cheaper too. We stay at least once a year, food is always great and the people are fantastic. Fun, fun, fun.

We stayed here this weekend on a whim because a friend of a friend recommended this place and we will be back! The staff was wonderful, the campgrounds were clean and the grass was so awesome and plush! The price is right, it's a welcoming place, we had good people around us and it's a far cry from the Gorge campgrounds. Everyone in our group (8 of us) agreed this is the place we're staying from now on.

If you value your sanity (and your belongings) you will camp here instead of at the Gorge.
1. Shuttle to and from the concert
2. Clean toilets and showers
3. Strictly enforced quiet after 12:00am
4. Wildburgers!!
5. Free drip coffee in the mornings
6. Laid back campers
7. Security patrols the campground (not that it was necessary, everyone was super chill)
8. Not the Gorge!
We camped here last weekend for the first time after seeing Jack Johnson. Coming back to the campground was actually my favorite part of the night. -

I am a middle-aged man with way too much to do, let alone write a yelp review. But our 4 night stay at Wild Horse during 2011 Sasquatch was a fantastic experience that I still look back on fondly. Wonderful, generous, fun people run this place...consistent from check-in to check-out, from 6 am to way past midnight...and cool people stay there too. This will always be my Sasquatch home.

Great place to camp!
I have camped there three times this summer for concerts at the Gorge and each time it was great. I have never camped at the Gorge but have heard lots of horrible things about it.
The campgroup is clean, spacious and filled with green grass. There are numerous porta potties and they even have showers.
There is a little coffee spot and place to order food either during the day, in the AM or after the concert.
The people there were all super friendly, the campsite was quiet during the night and I felt extremly safe-which is important to me.
This campsite is the best! Affordable too! :) -

I can't believe us Yelpers are just now starting to review this place!! *shocked and amazed* Honestly, I haven't been to the general camping at Da Gorge, but I hear this place kicks it to the curb. Lots of soft green grass everywhere, showers (cold outside, hot inside), helpful staff, and tons of hotties running around in very little clothing.
What Lori said about the food is true..... reasonable prices ($6-8), and damn good cookin! Lattesavailable, if thats your thing. Very clean, maintained honey buckets with hand sani. Outdoor sinks for body and dish washing.
And lets not forget the free shuttle to the show. Mind you, they are stopping at the far edge of the parking lot to drop you off these days, but yer gonna be walking alot anyways, so get used to it buddy!!
$30 a day......eh....not great....not bad. For all the amenities you get, I'd say its worth it. So, for every Gorge show....its Wild Horse Campground....every time! -

I've been camping at Wildhorse for the last 5 years during the Dave Matthews Band weekend. The camp hosts and staff are amazing!!! They make it a fun weekend. The food is fabulous (I never bring my own anymore), and the morning expresso rocks as well. I can't say enough great things about this campground.
I highly recommend Wildhorse, and have brought many of my DMB friends over the past few years. -

I've been camping at WHCG for about 5 years...and I love it! This place is very small...only takes about 200 cars. Reserve your spot early if there is a Gorge at George show you want to attend to. I booked my spot for the 3-day memorial wknd for the Sasquatch Festival and it sold out in 2 days after the concert tix went on sale!
The WHCG is run by the family, and it really does have that friendly feeling like they take care of you. They have a bomb ass cook who works up tasty meals for about 8 bones...I'm a HUGE fan of the b-fast burrito with sausage, egg, cheese and all the fixings, and the fatty wild burger for lunch or dinner. They even have a latte stand and free coffee if that satisfies your fancy.
Only four showers are available, so choose to shower at off-peak hrs to avoid the line (late night or super early in the morning). The best thing about Wild Horse is they bus you over to the concert in a old bus. Great way to build camaraderie with your fellow campers and sneak on your last free drinks before you get raped at the concert ($11 dollar Coors Light Tall Boys...yikes!). -

I'll be forever spoiled after staying at Wild Horse for the Sasquatch weekend. Those three days were bearable all thanks to Wild Horse - HOT showers (there is a line usually but it's a good time to relax under the sun and talk to other campers), CLEAN honey buckets (contradiction, no?) and AWESOME FOOD... no seriously, I'm a little sad that we had brought food to cook ourselves because I couldn't eat more of those nommy garlic fries and burgers... In addition, there was a convenient shuttle that brought us to the Gorge and back. The staff was also super friendly and helpful.

Bought tickets for Van Morrison show and had heard about the undesirable camping situation at The Gorge. Found this place via yelp and was so glad that I did. My fiance and I got to the campground around 11:30 and spent the whole day lounging and pre-partying in the green grass. The show wasn't sold out so the place wasn't packed. The staff are very friendly and can give you useful information about the venue. We were so impressed by the experience that we won't stay anywhere else.
We also tried the breakfast burritos on the morning after the show... best deal for miles. -

Good spot, they shuttle you to the concert and have a little stand that sells burgers and breakfast burritos. Nothing fancy but cheaper than the gorge and you probably wont get lost trying to find your camping spot ;)

Let's face it, camping is fun in certain environments, but the potential to suck factor is fairly high.
I really enjoy heading out to the Gorge each labor day to watch the Dave Matthews Band, but the camping part almost always gets me down because it is such a gamble of where you end up and who you end up next to. I like to par-tay, don't get me wrong, but at times the drum circles are a little to close for comfort.
Enter the Wildhorse...
Really nice grounds, big thick grass, fairly leveled out and a good amount of space between you and the neighbor--if needed. This is nothing like Gorge camping--the Honey buckets are changed every four hours, there was always soap in the bathrooms, there is a latee stand and good food-- you can cook your own, there isnt security running around all the time looking to bust people for stupid shit-- it pleasant and the people are pleasant.
They also provide a nice little shuttle to the top of the parking lot--and they pick you up so it's amazing!
It's a little slice of heaven. -

Stayed here for the Kings of Leon concert this last weekend. Would highly recommend it to anyone going to a concert at the Gorge or just if you are needing a place to camp in general in that area.
I had reserved our spot in May and of course lost the printed confirmation. I called the day before and left a message with Scott asking what I should do and he called back promtly leaving me a messge saying he had our reservation and it was fine as long as I had ID.
We were taken to our spot quickly, the honey buckets were super clean and emptied frequently and had hand sanitizer inside. You could shower, they had places to brush your teeth or wash your hands. They also had a cafe and a latte stand that was really affordable and tasty. The biggest perk was that there were buses that shuttled you to and from the concert every 30 minutes for free.
This is the only place I will stay from here on out for Gorge concerts and will be booking my site as soon as buying a concert ticket to ensure that I don't have to stay anywhere else. Can't complain at all! -

I was so excited to stay at the Wildhorse campground over Labor Day weekend, so I forked over the $120 in March right after I bought my concert tickets. Well, plans changed a little bit in the meantime. My friend became pregnant, so what had originally been a weekend the two of us were going to enjoy turned into me going on Friday, with her boyfriend coming over on Saturday and me leaving. When we arrived at the campground we checked with the girl, making sure it would be Ok to switch cars on Saturday when I was leaving. She checked, came back, and said no, not their policy. We asked to speak to Scott, one of the owners, after my friend explained she had been trying to contact him via e-mail and had gotten no repsonse. Scott came to the car, very confrontational and rude explaining his policy, and that we indeed could not change cars on Saturday. He was VERY rude, and we, on the other hand were NOT. I said I thought paying $120 for one night was ridiculous, at which he replied that he was busy, would go ahead and refund us now, grabbed my pass out of my hand, and returned with my money.
My problem is not with the policy, but with the complete rudeness and lack of respect that the owner dealt with the situation. We ended up at the Gorge campground, which was $80 for the whole weekend, and we were able to switch out the car on Saturday. Sure, the Wildhorse is a lot cleaner, and probably quieter, but I will not support assholes like Scott. And I will tell all of my friends the same!
