What an adorable baby/children's store with good quality selection of clothes, shoes, toys and baby gear.

I have been in a few times and each time greeted by friendly and helpful staff, when they do not know the answer about a product they have taken the time to look it up and offer options. I did not find them pushy at all with the products but really trying to make sure that I found exactly what I was looking for. The owner was even willing to throw in her opinion on products, which was nice to hear a differing opinion from my salesperson and compare various rationales on products. I really appreciated that they were not just pushing what I originally was looking at but trying to determine what would suits our needs best.

I am looking forward to going back!

Everything in this store is adorable. If you are looking for a unique baby/toddler gift, you will for sure find it here. The prices are high compared to chain places, but the quality and uniqueness of the items makes up for that.

Wild Child has clothes, toys, books, strollers, shoes, car seats and more. I bought a bunch of adorable handmade barrettes for my nieces that I am sure will be a real hit. Something else very unique that I noticed was a book and pajama gift set. The pajama featured the characters of the book and a couple different versions were available. It is this type of specialty item that will keep me coming back.

The sale prices are great as well. My only issue is that sizes and styles were limited. My nieces like to dress alike and I had a hard time finding matching items for them. When I asked about this I was told that what they had was out.

I ordered a double stroller on-line from Wild Child and had it shipped all the way to L.A. because with their customer appreciation coupons they offer often, it was the cheapest way to get my luxury item! Buying an expensive stroller, sight unseen from across the country had me nervous. All my numerous e-mails and queries were quickly answered by Lauren who couldn't have been nicer.
Thanks for the GREAT customer service.

While I don't yet have children, Wild Child is my go to place for baby shower gifts. The staff is always so helpful in guiding me towards appropriate selections for what I'm looking to spend, and they always take the time to gift wrap the presents so beautifully with colorful paper and ribbons. Definitely worth the short drive over from the city!

The customer service at Wild Child is excellent. They have a wonderful selection of high end baby, toddler, and children's clothing as well as lots of other baby/kid gear (shoes, outerwear, accessories, car seats, strollers...). They have great sales so even though the merchandise is higher end, you won't necessarily end up paying high end prices for it!

The sale section at Wild Child is pretty amazing - I can always find super cute gifts for new babies at 30 to 50% off. The clothes in the regular section are adorable too.

The staff's friendly and eager to show you all the tricks of the strollers, and they're happy to let you test drive the floor models out on the real road.

Ah, Wild Child.  The place where I go to see an adorable little French-import dress, just perfect for my daughter, and it's even 30% off!!!  Yippee!!  Except that 30% off of their typical price for a girl's dress is still $70.
Their inventory is great.  Once I win the lottery I'll have 10 more kids and shop here EVERY DAY!

Unfortunately, I had the same experience as Mai O. regarding an extremely late stroller order (Bob Revolution).

My wife and I really appreciated the salesperson's time and expertise in going through the features of the Bob and Uppababy strollers. Wild Childe also let us go for a walk with the strollers to check them out.

For these reasons, we decided to buy from Wild Childe, rather than REI, which was having a sale. (Also, we wanted to support a local business.)

Since Isis Maternity (now Isis Parenting(?)) has an expanded inventory, we pretty much stay with them. Safe choice, I suppose, with nice and knowledgeable sales team. It's walking distance for us, so that's where we shop for baby stuff.

Edit in response to Steve's (of Wild Childe) comment/follow-up:
We placed an order and paid for the stroller at the end of March. We were told that it would arrive in early May. (I think a specific window of days was provided, but I can't recall.) It was fine for us, since we were expecting in early June.

Long story short: the time window came and went. Wild Childe informed us, after we had inquired, that it would arrive towards the end of May. That date came and went, too. A new date of delivery, after we inquired, was set for June (after our due date). We finally did receive the stroller, and the Bob Revolution's been great.

I do credit Wild Childe for offering a loaner in the interim. (Note: a choice of two strollers was offered. When we went to Wild Childe, only one of the two was available as the other was picked up by another couple as a loaner.)

In summary, I think we should have been kept better informed, and Wild Childe could have been more proactive in contacting us about the delays.

I have had wonderful experiences shopping at Wild Child for friends' babyshowers.  They have a great selection that is not overwhelming, a lovely layout to the store, and I have found every member of the staff to be friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.  I think they changed ownership somewhat recently, and I can say my experience with ordering through the store has been exemplary.
You will find Wild Child a fun and easy shopping experience- this from someone who does not find many shopping experiences fun or easy.  I doubt you will have any trouble finding what you want or need, and you will not get bogged down in a ton of stuff you would never want nor need.
    Really a terrific local resource.

Shopping for a baby shower: a dilemma with an easy solution.
A warm welcoming atmosphere with such great customer service, I honestly had a personal shopper hold my hand through the whole process (thank god!)  Each article comes with good advice: "trust me, she needs this", "this is so impractical, I won't let you buy it", "Look at our sale selection!"

The store carries the largest infant/child clothing selection of all the boutiques that I hit that weekend.  If I was more child-fashion astute I could list some brands; my purchases were from Tea and Kissy Kissy lines.

Wild child has plenty of practical items, gifts, toys, linens, and decorating accessories throughout... including a huge wall of strollers/carriers that I avoided like the plague.  A large maternity area in the back carried quite trendy threads (including some anthropology-esque clothes) that almost made me wish I had a belly bump.
A local boutique (with a boutique $) that all moms and preggers should consider their staple store.

Over the moon satisfaction - tragedy averted thanks to Wild Child.

When we lived in Arlington, I was a frequent customer of Wild Child and found the staff extremely knowledgeable, to the point that I would always buy in store instead of online due to the excellent customer service.  This week they outdid themselves.

My husband ran over our very expensive 2 yr old out of warranty Uppababy stroller with his convertible.  Since we now live in Tennessee, I wasn't sure how to best solve my dilemma (new stroller? new frame? new spouse?), so called Wild Child as a starting point.  They made many calls on my behalf and were able to get me a refurbished stroller frame from Uppababy at NO CHARGE save for shipping costs.

This was way more than I expected, both from Uppababy and from Wild Child, who stood to gain no revenue from their efforts, just a very satisfied out of state customer.  Best service I have received all year, hands down.  Support them and shop local!

Previously, I gave this place a 5 star because the owners (a married couple) were extremely nice, caring, and helpful.  I dropped it to 4 stars then, only because the bugaboo I ordered was more than a month late, but since it did arrive shortly after my due date, I was OK with it.

Then I met a store manager from hell and I must say I was very disappointed.  I so wanted to give this store 4 or 5 stars, because of the wonderful owners.

My husband and I went into the store to buy a few things, then my husband found a floor model Bouncer.  Since it was a floor model, it was cheap and so OK, we bought it.  When we went home to clean it, between the cushions I found yellow/brown goo and dust that did not look normal.  I wiped the whole thing, and the wipe came out dark brown!  I was expecting some dust because it was floor model, but this was too much.  I looked the product up on the web and I also realized that it was missing some parts.

So I went back to the store right next day and explained this to a salesperson who sold it to us yesterday.  She was very rude, and said, "I don't care what the reason is, there are no returns for floor model.  It says so on the receipt and store policy."
I politely explained that I understand that's the store policy, but when we bought it we were not aware that it had missing parts and that it also had some strange brown goo and dust on it, and it is not in the condition that could be used.  She replied, "Floor model is sold as is, that's why it's called floor model and that's why it was cheap.  It's originally $150 and it was sold for $34. If you put battery in it, it will still vibrate so it's not broken."  I corrected that it was originally $84.99, not $150 and showed her a receipt.  She said, "Yeah whatever, but you'll have to take it back."  I was at a loss as to what to say, so I just stood there.  I asked again politely, at least could you give us a store credit?  She kept saying no, but she understood that she couldn't get rid of me, she said, "Fine, this time I will give you a store credit, but I am doing you a favor, and next time you buy something, make up your mind  before you buy things."  She was very rude I thought, so I wanted to get her name for Yelping purpose, and I asked her what her name was.  She said, "Melanie, but it's no use complaining to the store about this, since I am the store manager and all the complaints come to me!"  Wow...  I almost said, you know, you are kinda wrong because the owners gave me their business cards so I can call them directly if I wanted to... but I kept my mouth shut.  I decided she was not worth my time.

Even if I have a store credit, I won't be going back EVER to that store, as long as I am going to be treated this way.  I don't know, but someone like this would be fired immediately where I come from... and I would say that US economy is not doing so bad, if someone like that is still keeping her job.

This used to be the crunchy Wild Women Outfitters catering to the Patagonia hiking crowd.  It just recently reopened as Wild Child and everytime I walk by I stop and coo at all the cute baby stuff they have.    Whether you're looking for a Baby Bjorn, and adorable outfit, or something with a little sass (my favorite is a jumper that says "I'm NOT a boy" on it).

Good local store for gifts and brands that are simply adorable. It's pretty pricey, but the brands they carry are the best of the best.  When they run a sale, there are definitely deals to be had. I ordered a Britax car seat and it came in when it was supposed to. Service, honestly, is hit or miss. Sometimes super friendly, especially when showing the big ticket items...and sometimes they can't be bothered.  (even when the store isn't super busy)

As a new mom, I didn't have the time to get an extension shade for my Uppa Baby Stroller this past fall.  Now that it is winter, I of course have come to the decision that I need one.  Uppa Baby doesn't sell extension shades specifically for their strollers, as some other stroller companies do, so I was looking for a good generic shade.  I was dismayed to find that Wild Child is currently out of the generic shades, but glad to hear that they were going to get some in January 2009.  I was speaking with Eric, one of the co-owners of the store, about this, and he highly recommended that I not get a generic extension, considering the windy winters we have -- the shade would probably blow off.  Instead, he went out of his way to see if Uppa Baby could sell me the shade for the 2009 stroller (which comes with a built-in extension, unlike the 2008 model that I have).  Unfortunately, the new model will not fit the old one, but I really appreciated how he was so willing to help.
