i had the crab artichoke wrap with avacado and wasabi coslaw. My husband had the thai beef dinner plate.

The menu has a good foundation; but missing the wow factor.

He's almost there with the ingredients; but missing the extra little nuggets that make you go " wow that's really a good idea.

The thai curry sauce needs coconut  milk, or more. It taste like indian curry style and not Thai style.  Still good, but not what it should be.  definetly gives you alot of prawns with it; that i was impressed with.

The Wrap was ok. It comes in a plain white tortilla; would of liked it in a spinach wrap with sesame seeds, green onoins to tie it together.

We also had the crab artichoke mushrooms.

The food is good; but just average good.

As other reviewers have stated, don't come here expecting Ritz Carlton white glove wait service.  It's just not going to happen. So set aside some time, sit back and relax, because the food, I think, is worth it.

The Thai soup is not for the faint of heart.  It's SPICY.  And delicious.  And chock full of seafood and flavors that warm the body and soul.

Another favorite dish I order is the salad with salmon and raspberry vinagrette, pine nuts and feta.  The salmon they top the salad with is a good sized piece of fish and always grilled to perfection.

And last but not least is my other favorite dish to order - the fish tacos!  It comes with crisp corn ships with coleslaw I can never seem to get enough of.

The quality of salmon here is consistently really, really good.  It's not the pink slab of farm-raised, color-induced, wan piece of meat you find in the sale section in the meats department.  It comes straight from Alaska and is high quality, so no, you're not going to get Wal-mart prices on the dishes.

In short  - if you can bear to put up with the inconsistent service from the waitresses, then it's definitely worth the meal.

The service here is poor. It is the kind of place that you walk in to and are unsure what to do. Will someone greet us? It is unclear. You can eat in or take fish with you. One of the soups, an Asian-style chowder, was good, but some other fish entrees were not. The place usually seems dead which adds to a lack-luster atmosphere. There are better choices around.

Great food at reasonable prices.  We visited for dinner on a Thursday evening and there were only 2 people working (1 cook and 1 waiter) so they were scurrying around a bit, but we never went without anything.  My husband had the Salmon (blackened) with the wasabi cole slaw and enjoyed both.  I had the teriyaki bowl with brown rice which was delicious.  My husband ordered a cup of the Thai seafood soup and then ordered a bowl because he loved it so much.  Definitely a winner!

Concisely: The food is decent, the prices are not too bad, the service is ATROCIOUS.

If you get anything, order the Thai soup which is basically the only reason my wife and I go there when we're in Incline. Do not expect friendly or fast service.

PS. they have a decent wasabi cream sauce that they love to put on everything and it's good but they ALWAYS put way too much (trust me, I like my wasabi but not burn me to death baseball size amount of wasabi)

5 STARS? No, definitely not for this place.

We got there around 3 on our way back to south bay area, needed a meal before dealing with the long traffic lines.

We set in separate tables to make the bills easier, which I think made the waitress upset because she doesn't get to charge 18% of tips for lunch.
(for party of 6/7 or more, if I'm correct.)

It was 5 of us on our table, and We got 5 different plates...

-Alaskan Burger: about $10 or a bit higher, a very plain dish. I think it's overpriced and believe that red robin is a better buy. (You get chips instead of fries.)

-"Appetizer Sampler": 14.95 you get about 5 different items. I think this is one of the acceptable ones, besides the portion was a bit too small for its price.

-"Forgotten Burger": just like Alaskan Burger but smaller, overpriced as well.

-Salmon Burger: Interesting dish, about $14, Once again, overpriced and the patty was kinda cold.

-Teriyaki Salmon Rice Bowl: about $8, I'd say the best buy of the day since it's cheaper with OK food.

The Clam Chowder was way too salty and tastes worse than the canned ones. Wasabi Sauce was the special part about the place but not good enough to be recommended.

Overpriced food with plain taste, nothing was special about the place. Besides the only waitress there seems to be racist.

The only waitress there complained about we had too many people and how big groups usually make reservations. (Heck, come on, it's at the middle of NOWHERE.) She was very impatient when taking our orders. When we added something extra she was shaking her head and sighing while writing down the additional orders. She was a lot nicer to the Caucasian people who walked in after us. At the end when she was cleaning our table she asked us to hand her the plates. Instead of giving us desert menu she just threw the bill to us...

Absolutely terrible experience, next time I'll get some Burger King before our long trip.

'Happiness is only real when shared.'

Christopher McCandless wrote these last words in his journal in "Into the Wild."  It was particularly moving because here was a guy who strove to find happiness and freedom and peace deep in the Alaskan wilderness.

The quote touched me deeply and I have thought about it often in the past weeks.

So I was aware of the irony that I should find myself dining alone at Wild Alaskan after a day of snowboarding a couple of days ago.  I've eaten here half a dozen times and always leave feeling like I did myself right..  Not just my body, but my taste buds..

Standouts are the salmon (tasty, moist and firm) and the wasabi coleslaw.  Sounds odd.  Tastes exceptional.

So, next time you're in Tahoe, give the 4 lb. burritos a day off and try this place.  Your body will thank you.

P.S. Don't forget about the quote (and go see 'Into the Wild')

I had the most delicious seared ahi tuna salad here yesterday. It was SO tasty!!!! I forget what the salad was called, but it was the one with cabbage and wasabi dressing. You can order the choice of meat on the salad for a small amount extra. Cozy little place with neat decorations on the wall. Cabin-like feel to it...

my husband and i were honeymooning in incline village. the selection of restaurants is somewhat small there, especially on a monday. i really wanted sushi but the one japanese restaurant in town was closed on the monday. so we decided to try a place close by the condo we rented. it was the wild alaskan in the raley's shopping center. they had a variety of menu items and had healthier options than fast food. They offer copper river salmon, which is wild and organic. i had a piece of seared salmon with soy and wasabi and white rice. my husband had the wild thai seafood coconut soup which they tauted on the menu as addicting. it was the best thing that we ate there.  he wanted to try the alaskan beer called moose spit but they were out. they seemed to be out of quite a few things it seemed. the crab stuffed mushrooms we ordered to start were kinda disappointed (read no crab and a funky spice added). the waitress seemed a bit frazzled. apparently, she works two jobs and goes to school. we sat outside on their patio and i think she forgot about us. our drinks did not get refilled. portion-wise, you got a lot of food for the money. so if you want a break from fast food and chains, try the local place. it's not the greatest seafood restaurant but it does give some memorable menu items (the thai seafood soup!).
