What a wonderful place. I had some reservations about trying acupuncture, but Jill made me feel totally at ease. Not only was she patient and empathetic, but she never pushed me on any front.
I now consider myself a regular customer and look forward to my visits. In addition to spectacular service (including Jill's sweet assistant, Sara), the environment is just incredibly relaxing and peaceful.
A wonderful experience all around! -

When I need to visit my acupuncturist, a good "bedside" manner is just as important to me as expertise when I need help with aches and pains and whatnot. On my first visit with Jill Stevens, she not only did a thorough exam, but she also took time to actually listen to me - which put me at ease immediately! She took a genuine interest in my reasons for my office visit and explained what she was doing every step of the way. I was nervous about the needles, if I would feel them or not. So I was really pleasantly surprised when there wasn't any discomfort at all.
I found the entire experience very enlightening and felt better when I left her office than when I arrived there. As far as I'm concerned, feeling well doesn't get better than this! -

Jill Stevens has a nice "bedside manner" and was really good with my 2-year old daughter who, surprising to me, sat through a 20-30 minute treatment. She didn't like the needles though... although Jill gamely stuck her own hand 3 or 4 times with the hair-thin object. But fortunately Jill had other tricks up her sleeve including a painless laser and a fish-shaped Japanese comb. Don't ask me what the name of the techniques are but what was most important to me was that the treatment worked.
Minutes after they were finished my daughter was rosy cheeked and energetic followed by a deep and obviously rejuvenative and nourishing nap. My reaction to acupuncture treatments exactly!
The herbal formula she prescribed is working well (brought baby in for that annoying, long lasting, runny nose and cough everyone I know has). The cough is almost gone and the herbs were a fraction of the cost of some children's tinctures I had been buying.
Another thing I really appreciated about Jill I discovered during our first conversation on the phone. She has her rates - we all have to pay the rent yeah? - but she said that if we were thinking of not getting treatment because of her rates then she would be willing to adjust them for our financial needs (not verbatim but that was the jist). Again, I really appreciated that - thought it was damn civil of her really :)
I will definitely bring the family back in for more treatments including some preventative type things which I believe Chinese Medicine is appropriate for. And I've already recommended her to some of my mom friends. Good job Whole Family Wellness Center! -

When I went into my appoinment. with Jill Stevens, I was in maybe the most excruciating neck pain i've ever been in. It wasn't just like I couldn't turn my head (i couldn't), it was like i'd done irreparable damage to my spinal cord. I'm all about acupuncture and but it was so bad i didn't really feel like there was much she could do for me.
Instead, we talked for a while, she asked a lot of questions, and it felt like she totally understood what I was feeling. Then she put the needles in and asked me to move my head. Suddenly i could turn my neck!!!! like NO pain at all. it was truly crazy. AND: she somehow looked at my ear and was like, it looks like you have an old injury in one of your shoulders. which i did. but what on earth. it was actually kind of freaky.
I'm still recovering (sadly, i couldn't walk out of there with the needles still in me) but I am in SO much less pain now and am really really looking forward to my next appointment. She is clearly incredibly knowledgeable and good at what she does. but also her bedside manner was awesome- kind and caring without being tentative or overly sweet. I would totally recommend going. -

UPDATE:
I returned to work with Jill when my daughter was about 10 months old. Just hadn't had the time or wherewithal before that, but when I had the worst PMS I have ever had (I mean, I thought I would have to check into the psych ward), I figured it was time to go back.
I was able to go 8 weeks in a row (have now scaled back to every other week), and, I swear, I started chilling out after the first session, and my PMS has since been minor. Jill has a very good and gentle listening ear; I appreciate the time she gives me just to recap my state of mind.

Jill is an amazing acupuncturist. I have been to a couple others besides her and I must say she's been the most attentive and responsive to my issues and also has got a super gentile touch. She's very thorough in her work and is a great listener which feels really good when you are talking about health concerns. I've been dealing with digestion issues and she has helped me tremendously!!! All I can say are great things about her. Jill is simply the best acupuncturist I've ever been to.

Jill is great and has been incredibly helpful throughout the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy. She is very knowledgable and super gentle. I was experiencing lots of insomnia, joint pain and anxiety. Besides needlework, she has helped with my diet and has given me herbs to help sleep and 'relax." Overall I feel like a different person and feel great. I highly recommend her to anyone experiencing pregnancy discomfort. She is excellent! I am so happy that she is in the East Bay.

My family and I have been seeing Jill Stevens since 2008. We started seeing her because my second child was having immune issues. I am happy to say that the issues have totally disappeared. Both of my children adore her and are always happy to go to her office. She is very thorough and does a very comprehensive initial intake session and always takes lots of time each successive session to check in and update information. She is extremely knowledgeable about Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbs, nutrition, and homeopathics. Before I started seeing Jill, I received acupuncture many times. I enjoyed the benefits, but the process was very uncomfortable for me. I do not have this experience with Jill. I always feel at ease while being treated by her and usually fall into a deep sleep. She goes to great lengths to make sure you are getting the full benefit out of each session. I highly recommend her for the whole family.

We absolutely adore Jill Stevens! She has been such a blessing to our family and has supported us immensely. Jill was referred to us when our baby was struggling with baseline congestion. She supported him with strengthening his immune system, clearing his symptoms, and improving his overall well-being. Jill has supported him now through numerous times falling sick. She has always returned calls in a timely manner, made herself available for phone consultations even during off hours when needed, and continued to display a keen sense of insight when treating our boy. Jill has greatly improved our family's awareness about how to best deal with symptoms when they arise, and supported us with becoming more confident, grounded and educated parents. She has become THE person we call when confused about how to appropriately support our baby's healing process. Jill is warm, loving, and an excellent healer. She is fantastic with children; our boy loves acupuncture with her and smiles through his treatments! We are so very grateful for Jill's wisdom & expertise with treating babies and supporting parents!

I have a 14 month old son who I started taking to Jill when he was around four months old. He had just undergone a round of immunizations that left him sick for nearly one month (congestion, coughing, sleeping poorly, diaper rashes). In one treatment, Jill was able to get my little boy (and us) back to health. Her manner with my son is incredible. He loves to go see her, which we do regularly just to continue to build his immune system (especially because I was only able to breastfeed for six months). Jill's expertise allows her to be dynamic and flexible in her treatment of my son: If he's not up for acupuncture one day because he's particularly fussy, she uses a cool tool (that my son also loves) to stimulate the same points she would have needled. And let me say that I couldn't believe that my little guy was as totally okay with acupuncture as he was. I was nervous, but he did great thanks to Jill's sensitivity and timing. I recommend Jill enthusiastically and without hesitation!!!
