7 reviews for Who Song & Larry's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina
Con: The food is bad mexican food... like a Chevys abortion. Trying to say you had Mexican food at who songs is similar to saying you had vietnamese food... at a burger king in saigon.
Pro: The facility is great... a touch run down, but it makes it very authentic mexican... the deck is great in the summer and the drinks are pretty good... place is GREAT times for drinking
side note: although the food is bad, they do have a pretty standard lunch buffet with a special meat dish and custom made fajitas for 8.99 = tax and tip... the lone bright spot.
I have read some of the reviews of this place and I think all who came here are a lot of stuffed shirts! Every time I came to Who Songs and Larry's we have had a Great Time! The staff is as funny as Hell! If you love a Good Time Go here!!!! The Mexican Food is alright. (California Style) The Burritos a huge. My wife likes the Fajitas. Never had a Bad Time here.
I can't comment much on the food, but after horrible sushi across the bridge in Portland, the chips, salsa and margaritas (oh, and not to mention tequila shots) helped us salvage what could have been a horrible night. The bartenders were nice, atmosphere fun, and it looked like a perfect place to have dinner outside along the river.
The service is usually good, but I go on off-hours (like at 3:00 PM) so I've never really have been there when there's a lot of people. The staff around the time I go are generally nice, but it tends to vary. The managers seem to have an attitude to everyone including the customers.
The food isn't anything close to authentic Mexican food, but it's not awful. The chicken enchiladas were decent. They aren't the best in the world, but they're certainly not the worst. The view of Jantzen Beach, the river and the Interstate Bridge is probably the most appealing factor of the place.
I've been here a total of three times. Each time I thought, this has got to get better because its just such a cool view of the river. However, it is in fact one of the worst places to eat. Rude staff and a long wait for really gross very unmexican food. Skip this place.

I had just arrived into town with a friend and was looking for a drink and maybe a bite to eat while we waited for more friends to arrive.
This is "mexican't" - not Mexican. It's one thing to take a recipe and customize it but to sell it as authentic is another.
The name itself is a copy of Hussong's Cantina in Baja. Gee, I wonder why you can't find this restaurant near the other border, the Mexican border? LMFAO!
I give it two stars because I spent all my time in the bar and the bar is always a different experience from the actual restaurant.
All I can say, is that the only really good thing this place has going for it is the view.
The food (we had the appetizer platter) was pretty atrocious. Vinegarry chicken wings in a supposed Mexican place?
I'll go back, but only to enjoy a cool beverage on the great patio. Be warned--don't order any food!
