Review from Kevin G.

A nice little, albeit overpriced, coffee & sandwich shop. The service is good and the place has a nice cozy feeling to it so that you don't mind staying here for a few hours with your laptop. The only decent place to get breakfast in Gorham.

I come to NH every year, and always stop by here once if not twice on the visit.
The coffee has always been excellent, as is the food (try the wildcat), and service. -

Delicious vegetarian breakfast sandwiches in the middle of nowhere!
I love it.
A very sweet cafe and bookstore, with delicious coffee and perhaps slightly stale cookies. Still, the staff were very polite and friendly - an excellent place to grab breakfast or afternoon coffee when you need a little civilization after hours/days/weeks in the mountains . . . -

Lesson learned at Crabby Jack's.
The second morning here, we opted to try for somewhere else and found this little place down the street. Their selection consists mostly of quiche, cake, and breakfast sandwiches and a wide variety of coffee and smoothie choices. I ordered the Wildcat sandwich on white, it consisted of bacon, cheddar, egg, sauteed onion, and hot sauce on a bagel. Nothing like some onion breath and indigestion to get a day on the slopes started. BFF ordered the ham and tomato quiche which was hot and delicious. A well played, inexpensive breakfast on the go. -

July 3rd afternoon I found out I had to work the weekend... but I had already made plans to go camping....so what is a girl to do? That's when a fabulous friend and White Mountain Cafe came to the rescue. Once again, free wifi saved my ass.
It seems like a seasonal thing, but White Mountain cafe appealed to me as the sort of place where your next outdoorsy CEO or local reporter (sidebar: actually there was a reporter in there taking pictures of the place - I think she was writing an article about the cafe for the local paper) is likely to hang out. The tables, chairs and outlets line the perimeter of the cafe while a very comfy set of couches dot the fireplace (not sure if it's a real one). There were various photos of nearby mountains from a local artist, which you could also purchase. I'm not sure if it's a rotating artist of the month deal or what... but I like the exhibit.
In addition to the cozy ambiance, the food was yummy and staff, friendly. I must have sat through 3 or 4 barristers and drank 5 or 6 coffees/Italian sodas/chai while I was there but never got any evil stares. Also, when I finally checked myself out for the evening, some guy started setting up drums and various instruments so it seems like they have live performances there too.
If I ever find myself in Gorham again... I will definitely be back to veg on those comfy couches. -

Review from Angie B.

My sister and I ended up at the White Mountain Cafe after attempting to check out the Moonbeam Cafe which was closed for some odd reason. It was early afternoon and after checking out the menu we thought that the cafe looked like a promising choice for a late breakfast/early lunch. My sister ordered a breakfast sandwich with tomato and avocado and I sprang for a panini with bacon, avocado, and cheddar. After what seemed like a 20 min wait we received our food and were extremely disappointed. The egg on my sisters sandwich was rubbery and hard making the dish very unappetizing but it got worse - the avocados they had placed on her sandwich and mine were completely black and brown. I'm talking no green in the avocado at all whatsoever. I'm no wimp when it comes to food and I realize that avocados oxidize and wont make you sick if they're a bit brown but all of the avocado they used on our sandwiches was so black and tasted terrible as a result. I really wish that whoever made our sandwiches had skipped the avocado altogether - how could you not realize that eating black, mushy, nasty tasting avocado is unappetizing to most anyone? The only redeeming factor here was the iced coffee which was pretty good. Bottom line: coffee was good, food was terrible
