FYI: This is the tasting room, the actual winery is in Livermore. This might be my 2nd favorite winery(Bonny Doon1st)...My mom joined the wine club at the Capitola Art & Wine Festival a few years ago. Every year when you go to their booth for tastings they give you a poker chip good for a free tasting in their store down the street. They serve you a hefty amount of wine on a surfboard table supported by two large wine barrels. Occasionally there is a pooch named Noodles running around and the staff is always extremely friendly, laid back and knowledgeable. It's not a stuffy, uptight kind of tasting you might get elsewhere. If you are Capitola definitely swing by!
Update: Just went here after whale watching in Santa Cruz 5/11/08...tasted a zin, cab sauv, port, sparkling, and a pinot....all fabulous and all accompanied by dark chocolate chips and oyster crackers. Holy Yum! -

You guys seriously rock.
You made the Capitola Wine fest so much fun, no wonder why your place was the only tasting room that was filled to the brim! Every single time my glass was empty there was someone trying to get me loaded, bottle in hand, smile on face. The friendliness was superb and the wine delish. The best part was the chick walking around with the shirt that read: Wine Rack
