I went on a Sat night-- I'm a fan would totally go back. The only reasons why I gave it 3 stars and not 4 or 5 is:
1) Cover charge-- for a lounge? A club, i understand, but for a lounge?? But then again, I've paid 7-10 bux for crappy places that my friends have drag me to in Fan Hall-- I'd rather pay the cover charge here anyday over those! Also, if you go there a bit early and create some rapport with the doorman (I think we got there around 10:30ish), he'll "find" your name on the guest list for the $10 cover :-) (usually $15)
2) Ok music-- kinda weird mix-- similar to the stuff you would hear in the cheesy Fan Hall bars. Given the decor (really nice!) I was kinda hoping for some loungy house music.
3) For a cover charge, their selection of higher end flavored vodkas could have been better.
Everything else was great-- good crowd, great atmosphere. Sure, its somewhat pretentious, but that weeds out deadbeats. A good place to put into the weekend rotation among Foundation Lounge, Bond, Minibar, etc.
I've heard about this place for a while and finally went to check it out Saturday night. Don't think I'll ever be back.
$15 dollar cover charge for a hotel lounge?? There is really only one main room and they charge 15 dollars to get into it? Bad start. The music was alright-but so incredibly loud that I had to scream into my friend's ear who was standing right next to me.
The room is so dark you can't even see who you're meeting or talking to. (which I guess is good for some people, but I'd rather not take extreme surprises) The crowd was a little odd, young, and not incredibly classy. Too many young college kids here traveling in huge loud packs.
Drinks are also expensive. Men dressed subpar with strange pick-up lines. Sorry...never coming back. We stayed for a total of 30 minutes and left to go to Citybar instead. Wish I could have gotten a refund on the cover charge. Not my scene.

Whiskey Park lied to me. I thought we may have had something real, but it was fake...as fake as a place that calls itself a club...when no one dances.
What good is being at a club if no one dances? This place was no fun at all. Over priced drinks, crappy music and no dancing at all, except for when Kim P and I tried to set a trend. Apparently it's much cooler to stand around with froo-froo drinks and yell at the people around you.
Some dumbass was walking around with a wad of twenty's in his hand, too ugly to get laid the good old fashioned way, he had to attempt to attract gold diggers.
I would suggest if you want to have fun here...a) call ahead because you then can get on the guest list for free and b) come with at least 7 others who want to dance...and rule the place.
This is the last time I listen to really hot doorman, because it really ruined my good time.

Whiskey Park fails. Extra hard. I popped in last Sunday night because I have heard good things about Whiskey Park, unfortunately there was not much going on that night but both the bartender and the doorman were really nice and encouraged us to come back for what was supposed to be a guaranteed great time on Saturday nights. Being as though I had recommendations on this place from two different co-workers (I know, I know. I should have listened to you fellow Yelpers) I was very excited to go here and experience Boston nightlife. Because my plans changed last minute, we arrived a little early. Around 10:30. First disappointment, that the bartender/doorman who encouraged us to come back didn't mention that the reduced fee "guest list" is comprised of people who simply call Whiskey Park ahead of time. Thats ok though because my mind was so focused on the guaranteed good time. It was pretty empty so we decided to leave and come back because we did like the vibe. Once we got back maybe an hour later, WP was filling up quickly and I was getting excited. That is, I was excited up until I realized that even though the floor was packed... NO ONE was dancing. Since when is standing around trying to look cool cool? Why go out if no one will dance. I was determined to dance though so yes, Kim P was dancing away but it was like the people who were standing still gradually sucked away all my energy and zest for dancing. I would probably come back here for a date with someone so decidedly not cheap that he would fork over the $15 for one drink but I will absolutely not come back here for the nightlife.
At least I got to wear my tres cute romper.

If you want to feel fabulous, then come to this club. Most of the guys wear suits, and ladies have dresses on, which I felt left out wearing jean. The drinks are strong, but over priced. The decorations are nice with big couches around, but there would be no room to move around, let alone dancing, and it took me forever reaching to the bar when it's crowded. oh yeah, all the tables had the sign "reserved", what's up with that? I was so naive thinking "wow, this place must be famous that lots of people booked for the table" and standing there like a loser with people were staring at. The only thing i like about this place is they played good music. I dont have any intention to come back, unless my friends make me to.
Typical fake-tony clip joint with awful bartending.
I understand the appeal of these sorts of places: if you're the kind of sucker who thinks getting togged up and waiting in line to get past past a velvet rope for a stiff cover charge makes you part of an elite club, you've found your joint.
I'm used to over-aggressive, steroidal apes as bouncers at these places, and too much cologne on the patrons. Where I draw the line is paying $14+ for a cocktail made by an inarguably cute girl who hasn't the faintest idea of what she's doing. The cocktails here are an expensive travesty, the worst pricey drinks I've had in Boston. Pitiful.

You know...I liked it. I think that it does a good job doing what it purports to do. It doesn't purport to do much of anything significant. This is not a place where memories are made. Perhaps a place where memories are LOST, but not made, no. They don't purport to be a gourmet restaurant or some place like Green Street with killer bartending. It has one basic purpose, and that is to create a posh atmosphere that makes you feel cool and gives you reason to dress up. It lets you fantasize a little bit about being slightly more glamorous than your usual self. And this is the closest anything in Boston has come to the mini-clubs I hung out in in Europe. That's fair enough for me, and fair enough to earn four stars when the service and drinks would normally otherwise earn it three.
I enjoyed the waitstaff. Way hotter than the clientele unfortunately. This place clearly only hires attractive people, male and female. I appreciate the equal-opportunity sexual objectification of human beings.
It loses one star because, while I don't mind paying a lot for a decent drink, they were serving really cheap crap. If you're going to overcharge me, overcharge me for something half decent please. If the whole idea is to create an atmosphere, the crappy cab sauv really gives the game away. Taste is one fifth of the sensory experience.
The bar is too dark to see your hand in front of your face. It's lit almost entirely by the stoplight at the intersection outside and light pouring in through the glass door from the hotel lobby to which it is adjacent.
And then there's the crowd. I LOLed. Let's just say that for a good half hour I pretended to be a non-English speaking Slovakian exchange student named Mishka just to avoid a gaggle of three ridiculously social retarded and frankly creepy men staring me and my friend down, and one teal-shirted independent who appeared increasingly steroid-amped throughout the course of the evening. The girls were all like sticks. To the Japanese dude who was dancing like he's, well, Japanese - awesome job. To the sketchy and insistent Russians who wouldn't let us alone until my friend gave in and talked to their ring leader, stop cock-blocking Mishka.
And to that well-dressed, salt-and-pepper haired DILF I almost had the balls to hit on just before he sauntered out, rather than be a lecherous old man like much of the patronage that July 3 evening, and caught a cab after sending me a last wistful glance - pleeeeeeease be there next time.

I attended Whiskey Park on Saturday night for a breast cancer fundraiser event. It was my first time there and probably my last, unless it's for another event.
The space is lovely. Jeffrey described it perfectly in his review. We were there on the early side (since it was for an event) so we sat at those big cushy sofa's and sipped overpriced drinks (like the beautiful people do). My friends and I sort of got a kick out of the fact that this kind of bar is not really our "scene" but it was fun all the same. (Note: When I was in my early 20's in Boston a big night out meant drinking bottled beer instead of draft and wearing your best J.Crew sweater & barn jacket).
At about 9:30pm a woman came up and informed us that the table we were sitting at was Reserved for later that evening and that we could stay there until they arrived. So, we looked at a bunch of other empty tables and asked "Can we move to another, non-reserved table now, so we won't have to move later when it's more crowded?" She agreed with our plan and assured us that our new table of choice was not reserved that evening.
As the night went on, the fundraiser crowd (easily identifiable because so many of the women were wearing Barbie-esque pink dresses - though not my crew) was being over-run by the regular nightclub crowd. A line started forming outside and tables were filling up with people ordering bottle service. The crowd started getting younger and the music started getting louder. So loud in fact that a speaker blew right near us. (Imagine for a moment how bad it sounds when a big speaker blows and gets staticky).
At about 11pm a big ominous bouncer guy came over to our table and told us we had to move because it was Reserved. I mentioned to him that we specifically chose the table we were at because we were told it was NOT reserved. He wasn't going to give up (I am sure someone in line offered him a hundred to get them a table) but neither was I. Fortunately, the nice woman who told us that table was okay hours ago, came over and cleared things up, telling us (and the bouncer) that we did not have to move.
Granted, we were probably the only table in there that did not have a big bottle of champagne or Grey Goose in front of us, but we had been there since 8:30 and our group had spent more than the cost of a couple of bottles. I was glad to see she was smart enough to figure that out.
So, the venue was gorgeous, the hostess was very professional and the fundraiser crowd was fun. But, unless this is your scene, I would not recommend you go here under any other circumstance than an event (unless of course you have a table reserved and are not susceptible to headaches from the blaring sound of static from a broken speaker).

I've sort of deemed this place the Club Cafe of the straight world, just a little more elitist. The space is dark, the people glamorous, the music fantastic and no one is dancing.
The drinks are costly, but strong. I wouldn't say they're the best mixed in the city, but certainly better than some places trying to pass themselves off as martini/cocktail lounges. I don't fully understand the cover, especially not one of $10-15.
Not typically my taste, but so long as they keep the music flowing, this may be an occasional spot to stop in and feel mysteriously fabulous...well, for one drink anyway.

Please don't make me go back. Besides watching the prostitutes and their super guido boyfriends and the ridiculous drink prices, nothing about this place was memorable.
The dancing room was so dark you might as well be blindfolded.
Not gonna lie, not my scene.

Went here for my 24th birthday celebration this past Saturday with a bunch of friends. Luckily I have a friend that was able to pull some strings to reserve us a table/lounge area for free, got the girls in free and the boys in for a discounted cover. I'm torn about how many stars to give it, because I had a great time, but if it weren't for this sweet hookup, I wouldn't really be a big fan.
I totally agree with Carla K., the $15 cover is way too expensive to charge $15 for cocktails. I had a couple gin & tonic's at $11 a piece, which is a little steep, and I had a mojito which was a little too sweet. Most of the cocktails on the drink list were actually pretty small for how much they cost. I guess the price of drinks made me drink a little less, which is always good when you're aiming not to puke later in the night.
I found that the music was GREAT when we arrived around 10 pm, then got way too house-y for my taste, then as we were getting ready to leave around 1:45 am, the music went back to awesome hip hop. So I did a little dancing, but overall wasn't super impressed with the music.
I really liked the layout of the main bar area. There were couches and tables and everyone just danced wherever they were. However, the bar was SO dark, I could barely see people's faces. I don't mean like, hey we're in a club and its dark...I mean there was practically NO light source whatsoever. I'm just glad I didn't accidentally grab some girl's ass thinking it was one of my friends'!
So overall, I had a great time with my friends, but I probably wouldn't go back. Ooo I almost forgot to mention that there were some pretty skankilicious outfits there. I mean, there were boobs everywhere, mostly fake. Totally good for people-watching, especially if you sit near the door to see who leaves with whom.

Be prepared to spend more than a pretty penny when you visit this glamorous, mysterious, sophisticated lounge and hotel bar. But don't you worry, beautiful: it's worth your hard-earned money, and it's even more worth your time.
The cocktails are well-made and strong; your neighbors for the evening equally as swanky as the posh interior. The bartenders are knowledgeable and you'd be hard-pressed to find another place like it in your travels.
If you've made it to Whiskey Park, then, well... you've really made it.

I went on a whim on Friday night with Lauren. We loved the atmosphere and set up, but the place was half empty and the mixed drinks are 10 bucks each! Also as two single ladies we noticed there were NO single men. All couples and groups of girls?!?! Random Croud in general.
We had fun anyways, of course! Pretty sure I wont be back.
I wanted to go here on a First Friday but they were charging about $15 cover.. and I really don't do covers unless it's a pretty awesome place. Came back in the winter after we were dissapointed in Red Sky. No cover this time. There weren't too many people here. The waitresses wear these really short black dresses that made them look like cheap strippers.. note that I didn't say the waitresses were good looking...
The drinks are pretty damn expensive here. I would say about $15 to 20... good but not worth that much money of course. Weird people frequent here. This old bald guy kept following my friend around and my other friend met a dance teacher... seriously... where do these people come from?
Nice place though.. swanky if that's what you're looking for.
Small, dark, and expensive....just like I like my women.
I actually like Whiskey Park, its gotta a little bit of everything. One half is more of a standard hotel bar and the other half is more lounge atmosphere, really dark with music and places to sit.
Don't get me wrong it has everything a bar with ten dollar drinks usually garnishes, yes I saw more then one guy with white shoes on......
But aside from that the place is generally pretty cool. The DJ was good, the bartenders weren't the friendliest, but they were crazy efficient which I'm going with is a pretty good trade off. All in all I had a pretty good time here and would recommend it to anyone.

I went to Whiskey Park on a Sunday night with two girlfriends (it was memorial day weekend, we had Monday off). We decided "hey, it's a Sunday, there we'll keep it calm" ... 7 martinis later, we were smashed and dancing in circles around this gorgeous lounge.
Needless to say, we had a great time - be prepared to spend a serious chunk of change, but it's worth the good time you'll have.

This place is too funny. Some nights it may as well be a centerfolds complete with lap dances it's such a meat market.
Friday night a friend of a friend decides last minute she wants to celebrate her engagement. My gay friend calls me and asks if I wanna go out so I say sure. I figure with us two and 3 chicks dripping in some serious "ice" why not, we're bound to attract some hot guys right? Bingo!
We're laughing and having a good time when we notice this couple off in another corner. Nice looking couple and apparantly having a really good time because one girl sqeals. "He's got a frickin pup tent!" and the aforementioned couple then looks our way. Poor guy grabs his girl and they skidaddle to the other end of the bar while my gals are in hysterics.
Aside from meat market aspect, and there clearly is one here at all times. It's not as exclusive as it used to be when it first opened. It used to be fairly common to see local celebs, sports celebs etc. hopping in here. Not so much these days.
Nothing spectacular in the way of drinks, just your middle of the road pick up joint now unfortunately. Expensive drinks in a kinda chic ambiance but nothing spectacular.
On the way out there was a yummy guy in front of me, I pinched his behind and when he turned around I blamed it on the girl behind me. She winked at him for me and it was all good.

Went here for Ashley R.'s birthday (her review is below) and I am pretty much in agreement. We've been wanting to try it and I'm glad we got hooked up on the guest list so I didn't have to pay a cover. The drinks are so expensive that there really shouldn't be a need for a cover.
It was also incredibly dark in here, which could either be "awesome, this sets the scene for dark deeds" or "is he cute or is he ugly? Whatever, keep dancing."
I liked the music and I found a few guys I liked talking to. I also thought the servers and bartenders were super friendly, which was nice.
Still, I feel like there isn't a lot that's special about this place. There's other bars in town I could go to and get my groove on without paying a cover, even though we had a good time.
I have to give Whiskey Park a lot of credit: It's the site of one of the craziest and most interesting nights of my life, which also happened to be my first Yelp Elite event: The Old Skool Prom. In that, it deserves all the stars in the world for doing a good job hosting, and the bartenders deserve kudos for making such great drinks (Pineapple Don't Preach, indeed :) )
That being said, I'm kind of split by the place. I came out here again for Jen's birthday, so I was definitely out with good people. On the one hand, the chairs are comfy and the VIP area is okay, the bathrooms are nice and clean, and the drinks are strong.
On the other hand, said chairs and VIP room are only "reserved", so your hoity-toity society types can sit down while the little people stand around like the kick-ass types that we are. Said clean bathrooms have mirrors in the ceiling. I'm sorry, but I don't want to be looking up and accidentally see too much of the next stall. And the strong drinks are pricey. Heck, even the beers are pricey ($7 for a Sammie Light? I can pay that to get a 6-pack).
I do have to give them credit because I got in before the cover was put into place, though it seemed a little selective on that end (9:30 for guys, 10 for ladies?) And it's a little small for dancing.
That being said, nostalgia and the fact that there are far worse places in the fair city of Boston (stop emailing me, Estate. Just because I once bought Decemberists tickets doesn't mean I want to hear about your Brody Jenner and Audrina from "The Hills" parties) give Whiskey Park 3 stars.

I came here last night for my birthday, and I had a great time, so I"m going to up this one star. It gets the extra star because I learned that if you are a guy and get there before 9:30 you don't have to pay cover, and if you're a girl and you get there before 10 you don't have to pay a cover.
Same as my review before - I really like the music they play here... That being said, however, there are still the same downsides of this place. Unless you reserve a table (lord knows how much that costs) you will not have a place to sit... at all... the entire night. The drinks are small and the drinks are EXPENSIVE.... you need to do some pregaming before coming out here, or don't plan to drink much.
PS - Friday nights are currently 80's nights! (So excited!)

ever seen something so scary in a bar that you dropped everything and photographed it? before i proceed, and in the spirit of Arrested Development, i would just like to say, COME ON. if i'm paying you this much for a cocktail, your bathrooms BETTER not look LIKE THIS- come with me, ladies and gentleman. reach under your seat, you will find a pair of protective goggles. put them on securely and observe with me the following disturbing scenes:
EXHIBIT A: http://static.px.yelp....
EXHIBIT B: http://static.px.yelp....
HIGHLY AMUSING EXHIBIT C: http://static.px.yelp....
whiskey park, this hurts me more than it does you. and it hurts my bladder even more. please try harder. at least i didn't photograph that one stall with the busted door and the drunk girl inside. i was afraid she might bite so i refrained.
this is where my criticism ends and the good begins, but hey, i gotta start with the giggly stuff...
you got a little somin' called MISS THANG on saturday nights. she's as hot as her music. the dancing's fun, the crowd's not bad, and there are 2 hot rooms to mingle in. the decor is handsome and sexy, the bartenders are pretty quick, and the beats are a lot of fun. GREAT staff, tons of tables if you want to sit and drink, room to dance, and room to not dance- i like whiskey park because you can move or you can chill- it's very laid back.
get there EARLY if you go on a saturday because the line is like a zoo. i'd bump you up to 4 stars if you get a janitor in there!!!! that shit's out of control.

Would have given Whiskey Park 1 star, but gave it an extra one cuz the DJ was a girl and played some pretty good tunes.
Cover too steep for my liking. Drinks too expensive for a bar that charges so much for cover.
Must have been push up bra night or something cuz all the waitresses and bartenders were spilling out of their shirts. I guess those girls gotta do what they gotta do get benjamins in their pockets.
Ladies of a certain age: don't make Cougar Hunters do all the work! The following travesty took place at Whiskey Park last Saturday:
Cougar Hunters: Heeey Lay-dees
Cougars: hi (giggling, coyly sinking their over-tanned selves deeper into leather couch)
***cute 20-something boys work hard to keep up conversation for a while***
(begin: awkward pause) shitty Gwen Stefani or Fergie song comes on
(end: awkward pause)
C.:I haven't heard this song in a while. It's, like, making a comeback or something. Hahaha.
C.H.:Yeah, uh, it's not a bad song.
C.: I know, I really like it.
C. (blurts out): You know she's divorced?! (nods at friend) Can you believe that?
C.H: Nah, really? You're too young (reality check: she looks about 40) to be divorced!
***conversation inevitably degenerates, cougar hunters give up***
This was like watching a train wreck! Women: when dudes lower their standards hoping to score, lend them a hand and take advantage! Duh!
Back to the review....no line at 10 PM on Saturday; not sure what time it started to form. Bad dirty martinis...this is my acid test for bars and they received a C- for theirs. I disliked the main section...it was too crowded to move freely down the aisles, and I found the seating arrangement awkward, like you were on the T staring at the people across from you. Didn't like the music either.
So why 2 stars (and not 1)? The area immediately to the left as you walk in (towards the hotel lobby) is pretty chill. Big TV to watch baseball, space to comfortably spread out in large couches and chairs, and a bar mostly to yourself.
Overall, however, this place is lame and I probably won't return.

My friends and I used to frequent Whiskey Park probably about twice a month, always on Saturday nights. We hadn't been in a while (Prob. around 8-10 months) and boy, has it changed. We went this past Saturday night (actually, it was our back up plan -45 minute wait at Clink) and couldn't believe how much the clientele had changed. Not only that but my friend had her wallet stolen right out of her purse that evening. We later found out it she was one of three people this happened to that night. Classy place, eh?
All set with WP.

I've been to Whiskey Park for several different occasions... sometimes for general club/lounge nights, other times for a birthday celebration/DJ debut thing and another time for a closed-off private event (that just happened to be from Yelp, actually!). Generally, I've always had a good time here, but there's something about the place that just stops me from liking it enough to ever make it a regular hangout - you know, it's all about the crowd.
On a normal basis, I'm not a fan of the suits and gold-diggas crowd. On other nights, I'm not too excited by the Emerson grad kids knocking back a million shots (and I've heard, knocking each other out - ok that one time I heard of was a friend of a friend but when two females feel the need to sock each other in the face, you've gotta wonder...) But otherwise, like most nightlife spots, if you go with a big group of your friends and the music is good enough, it becomes what you make of it and you can have a good time. And like with most nightlife spots, it really, really depends on which night you go especially if it's the sort of place that has different music/DJs on different nights - just pick what's right for you otherwise you'll probably hate it.
Personally, the times I've enjoyed were the semi or fully private events and international nights. But I have a tendency to enjoy international nights at most places that do them relatively well, so it figures.
I actually like the layout/decor of the place and yes, it's pretty dark in there but I actually kind of like the sultriness of the atmosphere. It's got quite loungey decor and I like that, though I can say it's the sort of place that is hard to get around if it ever gets really packed in there, just because of the layout. Kind of like Underbar's layout in a way actually, with that area in the middle with tables/seats all around, then another surrounding area of tables around it, with another little room off of it... except on a smaller scale here.
The bartenders are efficient and nice enough, and generally I've always had a good time when I've gone here. I always have to be very selective though, since I know that if I went on the 'wrong' night for me, I probably wouldn't enjoy it very much. Conclusion: I like this place a lot on certain occasions, but I couldn't ever see myself as a regular here. 3.5 stars.

Tehehehehehe. OMG who are these guidos and pornstar wanna bes and why do they come to whiskey park???! A friend of mine works in the Boston Park Plaza hotel, so after a late shift we headed to Whiskey Park for a cocktail or two. After scoping out the crowd and realizing that we had to sneak into someones pre-paid for booth to have a seat, we quickly learned how uncool this joint was. While I loved the music...remix galore with all hip hop beats, I have to say the crowd just killed it for me.
I dont roll with roid ragin helmet heads or anorexic plasticated broads....so good music or not...the crowd killed it.

Preface: I came here only for a Yelp event so I can't comment on the what the crowd is like here normally.
All in all I was really impressed with the decor. It's dark and cozy with miles of places to sit. Comfortable places too. Lots of plush couches with pillows. It felt very lounge-y but luxurious too. It would such a great place to go on a date if you wanted to get cozy with someone in a dark corner.
Speaking of dark corners, I'm reading a lot of griping about the lighting being too low. I beg to differ. It's a BAR. It's supposed to be dark so that you can go into a corner and make out with people, right? But seriously, I sincerely dislike bars that are full of bright fluorescent lights. I thought Whiskey Park had fantastic lighting. This really isn't the kind of place you'd go to to have a deep meaningful conversation more like a place to have some drinks and cuddle on a sofa.
The waitress were cute and the bartenders friendly. The drinks weren't as alcoholic as I would have liked (especially considering they were martinis) but hey they were free. One cannot complain about free alcohol. That's just wrong. I'd love to come back and try the drinks on a non-Yelp night to see if they are any stronger.
Overall I am totally coming back here. It felt like what a hotel bar should be like: nicely decorated, dark, and high-end with hot chicks serving drinks. Now to see if I can actually get in when it's not a Yelp event.
EDIT: I came here for real last Saturday. The cool lounge-y atmosphere was the same but a few things where different. First off, this place is like Gypsy bar were all the tables are reserved and you technically aren't allowed to sit down at them. I know "up-scale" bars do this a lot but it's still wicked annoying. We sat down anyways despite the little "reserved' cards and no one said anything so that was cool. Also unless you are on a list the cover is like $15 which is pretty steep. I suggest finding out the name of a list to avoid the surcharge. The crowd was fairly typical. Lots of chicks wearing too much perfume and shorts that were too tight and too small and some dudes in suits (even on a Saturday). Whatever though, I'm still keeping the four stars because I really like the dark lounge vibe. Not a place I'd stay the whole night but definitely a good way to start.

My girlfriend and I had a nice Saturday night here. I'm sure most people will find this place somewhat snobby and pretentious. But I loved it. Who wouldn't want to spend a night where people are all dressed up looking hot and sexy?
They did have a cover, but the cute guy at the door reduced the price for us, and the promoters bought us a drink to start off our night.
We ended up leaving and checking out another spot, only to return here before the night was over. I would totally go back here.

I came here for a http://BuyYourFriendAD... event so I can't really say much about the typical nightlife scene, but I'll gladly give my two cents on the space/service.
If you've never been here, let me explain how it appears in my eyes. Chya'll Titanic fans? Not like Tarn and his historic memorabilia type of fan, but the film with Leo and Kate. Well, this bar makes me feel like I'm one of those old money boys who goes to discuss politics over brandy in the cigar room whilst Kate goes below deck to whore herself out to the Irish hoodlums (my ancestors). Dark wood paneling, leather furniture, and an overall dark interior with soft lighting makes me want to light up a cigar, discuss the upcoming Republican National Convention, and brag about my latest railroad fortune.
The bartender was professional, courteous, and friendly. She made a good drink and was a respectable lady, not like one of those Faneuil bar-wenches that would never make for a good housewife to my 14 kids on my 40 acre tobacco plantation.
I do have to subtract one star for an awkward exit. Daniel S. forgot to close out his credit card before he left, so I pretended I was him. When I went to sign 'my' bill, the bartender was gone. One of the bouncers told me she went to use the restroom and I'd have to wait for her to close me out...this waiting lasted roughly 9 minutes. It was around minute 5 that I thought, "Is she pooping? Girl's poop?"
When she finally returned, I think she knew what I was thinking. Awk.

I forgot about Whiskey Park for awhile. Never, ever, ever, never, ever go there for a Friday or Saturday night. It's awful, crowded small, and full of morons.
I like swinging by for a drink after work, grabbing a couch with some friends and quietly mulling over issues such as world dominance, bond trading, and pussy. Not like I ever discuss any of these issues, but the dark wood and leather atmosphere sometimes makes me feel like I should.
I'd say it's mostly for the suits, and the women who love them, but the staff is pretty 'tude free, and there can be a decent mix of people.

A friend and I went here on a Wednesday night for a drink and to check out the scene. We may have been a little early, but it was pretty dead inside. It was all 40-something couples and pairs of men drinking scotch with a splash of water. We were the youngest people in there by at least 5 years.
I can see why people don't like this place on the weekend when it's crowded. It's very small inside and seems set up for people to either be at the bar or in the seats, not floating around in between. Speaking of the seating, it was easy to be comfortable and have a good conversation for an hour or so. I like that if you sit in the armchairs across from the bar, you can see the street behind you in the big bar mirror.
The drinks were on the pricey side, but my Jack and Coke was fairly strong. I have a feeling that they charge more because they can and that's it. Nothing special about the place, except, I guess, the people that go there. I would compare it to an NYC "see and be seen" style lounge. I'm not sure I'd go back here on a weekend night - maybe to check it out - but weekday nights seem pretty chill.

I came here a couple times on Saturday nights, dragged by friends..I have to say that each time was almost unbearable! The sound system is a JOKE! Why have a DJ when your speakers are practically blown? Only positive: The DJ was a female, rare for Boston and much appreciated, she was super friendly and actually played really good stuff I haven't heard in awhile..otherwise, stupid wannabe crowd, crazy-pricey drinks, rude bartenders ...I hate to be so negative but maybe I can spare someone else the torture and money! ..Oh, one more thing: the DJ told me she's getting fired for playing too much hiphop?! What? Seriously, this place is a nightmare.

I don't think its all that swanky. Not in comparison to a lot of other places in other cities! For Boston I suppose it is....but its much better than most of the other options in the city if you're looking for a lounge. The music is not overbearing and is somewhat different and it doesn't cost anything to reserve a table.
You can get the strangest crowd because its in a hotel. So sometimes you have a ton of hotel people there, sometimes its just all younger people. The times I've gone its all been the same type of crowd....20 somethings (not usually college though- way too expensive for that) who dress well and came to talk to their friends.
Whiskey Park gets a lot of unfair negative reviews I think. Maybe its just because I'm so desensitized to the less than stellar options here. Its not like I think its the best place in the world, its just a better option in Boston if you want to go somewhere nicer to avoid college students.

The older I get the more I have come to enjoy hotel bars. The drinks can be pricier, the beer selection smaller, and the music lamer than many of the non-hotel bars I like to go to. But the lamer music is also quieter so you can hear what your friends are saying and don't have to scream all night. They're also generally cleaner and have consistently comfortable seating.
Last week I went to Whiskey Park. I've walked by here nearly every day for the last three years or so, and now that I've been I'll keep on walking by. From the outside you get the impression that the place will have a touch of class, plus--hey--it's a hotel bar, so a friend and I stopped in for gibsons. I couldn't get past the loud, terrible music blaring inside... or the miniature $12 gibson--half the size of what the Oak Bar serves for just a few dollars more.
Was it terrible? No, but not worth another trip.
This place is pretentious and expensive.
I also met Big Papi here one night and he was kind enough to autograph a bar napkin for me. Automatic 5 stars.

For Sat night, it wasnt very crowded, but in all fairness there was SOX game on .I love the dimly lit interior , very new york city feel to this place. I wish the DJ didnt wear a sox tee. Seriously, i dont think thats the look they want to market. However, had a fabolous time there, the waitresses wear this really cute black dress.
FYI :For those interested in T shots-they have some fine patron here!

This review isn't so much for Whiskey Park (beautiful and well-dressed people paying just a little too much for their alcohol) as it is for their Thursday night band, the Usual Suspecks. The Suspecks are Boston's original Jazz/Funk (or is it Funk/Jazz?!) boy band. You've got the Khris "The Young Man"Royal hailing from New Orleans blowing on tenor sax, Louis Cato confidently holding down the cool, cool bottom, the incomparable Corey Berhard on the keys (they call him Gangsta Weebles), and of course, keeping it all in time is the man who never introduces himself, Andrew "Drew" Marsh.
When these four young men play together, it's a sound to behold. Unlike many jazz bands who noodle around indulgently as a bunch of individuals playing together, these guys play music like the Patriots play football: As a team. A while back at Wally's, this teamwork showed itself when Drew over-enthusiastically broke one of his snare heads. Without missing a beat, Cato went out back to grab a new head while Corey took over the bassline. You can tell these guys have a lot of fun playing together, and the fun they have playing together is infectious. They play that kind of sweet, sweet funk that makes you wanna get up, dance, and make babies. (Actually, they do a slightly smoother retwist for Whiskey Park's trendier digs, but it's musical mastery nonetheless.)
I can't imagine they'll be here much longer before they are swept away on additional world tours and what-not, so be sure to check them out every Thursday at Whiskey Park (and if you're lucky, Sunday nights at Wally's).

Great location and cool space but idiot management ruins it. I accidentally bumped into the manager when I walked in. I then apologized. She gave me a condescending look. Fuck her.
Anyway, I was there for an event and there were a good amount of people. The bartender was working her ass off as she was the only bartender. She was very polite but obviously frustrated and the manager was no where to be found to help her out to send another employee to do so. Poor management.
MANAGEMENT: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH STAFF TO SELL AND POUR DRINKS, YOUR SALES DECREASE.

I wasn't impressed when I went a few weeks ago...
Whiskey Park use to be "the place" you went to if you wanted to be noticed.. but now I just don't want to be noticed if I go to WP.
The inside is alright, kind of tight when they pack in the crowd. We waited for a half an hour even though we were "on the list". The DJ was spinning decent tunes and everyone appeared to be having a good time. Things got a bit sketchy when my gf was hit on by one of the employees. Also almost had a confrontation with some girl that would not stop knockin into me... but I expect these things from living in Boston (dumb college kids.)
The "VIP room" is anything but. I felt like I was standing in a CLOSET, you know like you use to when you played "7 minutes in heaven." People just absolutely faced and being retarded, making out with anyone.
If you think about going here just know that you're about 2 years to late... the only thing that stopped me from giving 2 stars was the pregnant bartender that punked out some kid for stealing a beer of the bar. How did she know he stole it you ask?? Dumb ass took one that still had the cap on it. Genius!!
