Strategy. Power Plays. Out maneuvering. Winners and Losers. Things flying past your head. Just another day at the office? Not a chance unless your office has it's outing at Whirlyball.

Whirlyball is a combination of bumper cars, La Crosse and basketball made all the crazier by lots of beer and friendly competition towards those you work with. This "sport" is not for the faint of heart. You are slammed into, hit with flying plastic balls and go hoarse from screaming at your teammates to "get the ball"!

Your head slams against the back of the bumper car as you are rear and side ended time and time again. Talk about multitasking! Once you remember how to make the bumper cars move- you are handed a racquet and told the rules of the game.

They have a party room you can rent and eat pizza and beer to your heart's content. This location has been recently remodeled to include a full sports bar, full menu and some pool tables. Hard to find as it is located in a decrepit mall but worth the hunt and search.

Frightening, hilarious, addictive, and competitive. Now isn't that just like a day at the office?

What is this place. Kids should be playing this. What is wrong with these adults??? I had to go to this place for a friends retirement. The food and drinks were good but then ..what kind of retirement party was this. Its expensive and boring to do this

CRAAAAZZZZYYYY!  Bumper cars, whiffle balls, and whip lash.  My brothers and cousins and I came here for some emotional release while in town for my grandmother's funeral.  I didn't know what to make of this place but found it kinda fun crashing into my relatives.  I love them dearly but there is something to feeling like a 5 year old again and immersing myself in some plain, simple fun.

A bit pricey and be aware that it's easy to get hurt.  Both my brothers got bruised up from ball smacking them or crashing too hard.  At least the bartender was kind enough to give us some free ice.

Whirlyball was everything I wanted it to be.  Our referee was fun and helped us learn how to play.  If you have friends from out of town (which I was), take them here!  They'll be craving it when they return home.

+bumper cars
+whiffle balls
+scoup stick thingies
+backboards with nets to shoot at
+cool friends to crash into
+beer to drink when you're done
=what more could you ask for?!

This place makes for a really fun night with a group of friends.  I've been here about 5 times now, and when we went last time we walked in to find the entire place had been redone.  They now have a full bar and food, and trust me..it just generally looks better.  Every time I come here with a group of friends we have a blast.  It is a little costly, but I think it's worth it completely.  We always play for an hour, and it ends up being about $20 per person...we try to always have at least 8 people with us when we play.  You can play with less, but I think 8 is perfect.  10 people is a little crowded on the 'court'.  I would have given this place 5 stars...but we had a very bad experience here a couple years ago.  However, the last time we were there it was explained to us that they are under a new manager and he agreed that what happened to us never should have happened.  If you've never been here, check it out.

Fun place to experience a good beating. Awake to bruises in places you've never had, banged up legs and overextension of the muscles...ah yes, and loss of fingernails. My suggestion would be to drink heavily before attemping this type of physical activity.

If your not feeling up for whirly ball, there is an area to sit and watch it happen to others, while snacking on bar food & drinks.

Don't get me wrong, it really is a fun game once you learn how to maneuver the kart. However, the more competivtive you are, the more brutal it will become.

I probably should give this place three stars because it wasn't as bad as I feared!   But, there is just something fundamentally wrong with a place that serves cheap wine, a myriad of beers and then encourages adults to drive bumper cars and play something akin to La Crosse!?

At any rate, my companions seemed to really enjoy themselves and quite honestly, it wasn't "that bad"....of course, the beer helped!!

Really fun but really expensive! This place is a serious bare bones environment. Your big bucks definitely don't go into the decoration of the joint. Probably to the insurance company because I can see why some drunken maniacs would get all riled up and start taking each other out. Anyway, if you have group of decently fun people, they will become wild and crazy when presented with Whirly Ball. It really is fun but you don't get to do too much whirly-balling for your money.

Bumber cars, a hand basket for a ball, a court like setting were you fling a ball across the room trying to score points.  All at the same time being slammed into by friends!  It's something that belongs at the local miniture golf course, right next too the go-karts, and bumber boats!  It being on it's own, may make it something that needs to be experienced, and not so well talked about.  If your in the Chicago area, and have NOTHING to do, give this a shot.  Grab a snack, have a few freinds over, and play the game.  Meet for dinner afterwords, and talk about what the hell just happened!

-Bumber Cars
-Beers
-45 min, of non-stop action
-Competitive chatter
-Being SLAMMED INTO!

This is a game were you need a break after a few minutes, but it's worth the 45 minutes you spend zipping around in your own bumber car, trying really hard trying to score goals!
