Finally discovered this hidden little gem-of-a-coffee house, and it was really about time. We really needed a cozy litle locally owned coffee shop to give us a break from Starbucks's in this area.

You really can't find anything more ideal in a sit-down coffee house than this in the Mukilteo area. Besides a few cafes sprinkled about the Mukilteo Speedway, this is the only one that has a comfy-cozy, relaxing vibe and great outdoor seating. On a sunny day, there is nothing better than sitting outside sipping your java and taking in the view of the Olympic Mountains and the Sound. With plenty of seating, some nice trees and plants surrounding you, and service to your seat after you order, this coffee experience is a must.

It only gets better indoors! Warm inviting colors, comfortable seating, fast and friendly service, and a great selection of bagels, soups, and sandwiches.

The only thing that drops this rating to a 4-star is the mediocre flavor of their coffee and the inconsistencies of their baristas. I have tried so hard to be sold on Whidbey Coffee's brew, but for some reason, I just kind of find it "ho-hum". I love to relax at this coffe house, but as far as their coffee goes, I personally wouldn't consider it a dark or bold roast. It really just seems to lack any truly defining characteristic. Just some very average java. Disappointing to me, but as previous reviewers seemed to dig it, like anything else out there, it's all about personal taste.

If you are in this area, this place is a must! Stop by and enjoy, the food, views and service and make your own judgment call on the java!

My husband and I fell in love with this coffee on a recent trip to Seattle.  We stayed in Mukilteo, so we visited the one there on Muk Speedway.  It is really good coffee- 10 times better than Starbucks.  They have struck the perfect balance between the coffee and the flavorings.

We never went inside (God bless the drive up window) and didn't try anything but the coffee but I was very happy.  The price seemed to be maybe a few cents cheaper than Bux, but that didn't really matter.  Anytime I can patronize someone other than the big green mermaid (the anti-christ, but that's for a totally different blog), I go for it!!

A fantastic waterfront nook that has the ambiance of the coziest of coffee shops, but the menu of a full-fledged cafe. Aside from the enormous array of flavors for your favorite beverage, they offer delicious pastries, deli-style sandwiches on fresh, thick breads, and even a variety of breakfast bagels topped with any number of goodies for the early crowd. Tiered garden-style outdoor seating is perfect for watching the ferries come and go, or grabbing a book from the used bookstore next door and spending an afternoon. Outdoors is dog friendly as well - a water dish for Fido is offered at the door. Indoor seating is arranged perfectly so you can feel as though you've found a little spot all your own, even when butted up against the next chair over. My favorite weekend coffee stop!

Update: 9/24/07  Ivar's no longer uses this java, a shame needless to say.

Some of the finest Java around.  Their beans smell really good and the coffee blend is bold and full.  Ivar's Mukilteo Landing use to serve their coffee in the dining room, it was rich and enjoyable if memory serves.

5 stars and a big thumbs up for being local and not a sell out!!

Not a bad hangout spot but I'd prefer their coffee be better, their prices a tad lower, and their baked goods less cholesterol filled and more clearly priced and advertised. I'll still walk down to the ferry for some Coffee at Woody's instead of this place. Side note: They have a high Churn rate in their employees.

This is a favorite spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a picturesque view of the Whidbey Island ferry. They have a great selection of sandwiches, smoothies, and coffee, all for very reasonable prices. You can take your food outside on a nice day and enjoy a gentle breeze from Puget Sound, but if you choose to stay inside, be sure to add a napkin to your tabletop. (It is a Whidbey Coffee tradition that underneath the glass tabletops are dozens of messages of napkins, bussiness cards, pictures, etc. commemorating people's visits.)
