I've been there once.  My sister and I walked in for the very first time and didn't even get a hello. So I took it upon myself to say hello and ...wait for it....got nothing but  a blank stare. Absolutely weird and awkward. Apparently we shouldn't be surprised at the lack of customer service skills as it seems to be a common theme with this place which is unfortunate. They were definitely not swarming with customers so it wasn't that they were too busy, they just didn't seem to care whether or not we were there. Anyway on to the food.

I had date cake muffin which was fantastic, very tasty and moist. My sister had a slice of  apple, pear?, cherry  pie which she absolutely loved. I was not a big fan of the crust itself - a bit too hard for my tastes but the pie filling had a great consistency and flavor. Also bought a slice of lemon, blueberry, coconut pie to take home to my girlfriend. She thought the filling tasted great, had a nice consistency but the crust was a bit on the hard side.

They had a good selection of sweet treats, savory treats, loaves of bread, pie crusts at reasonable prices. Aside from the handwritten prices on most items, the food was not labeled very well and it was hard for me to distinguish what was DF (dairy free), SF (soy free), and EF (egg free). It would also be nice to know what the ingredients are. Yes I could have asked but I didn't - I was still a bit put off by the staff's indifference.

I'm a bit conflicted about this place. I want to like it because it's a source of GF baked goods and the food I've had so far is good.  However, the poor customer service is a real deterrent.

the Mission: a vegan cake with dairy-free frosting for my gluten-free friend's bday.
mission accomplished!  what a vegan/gluten-free/soy free/egg-free lovers delight!

the baker was helpful when i gave in my call-in order. and she called me back to make sure if it was okay that the frosting was dairy-free.
fyi, the bakery/cafe still has the old bakery name, Da Vinci's Cafe on it. so i drove by it when i was trying to look for it and had to turn around.

i also think its adorable their coffee drinks are named after seattle neighborhoods.

thanks yelp for helping me this birthday cake a success!

Everything is wheat free, others are marked DF (dairy free) EF (egg free) and SF (soy free).  My non-restricted spouse thought his baked item (lemon lavender cake) was fine, but noted his mocha was actually better than average, perhaps because they're blending their own chocolate.

I was grateful and happy for my tasty treats after being treatless, and glad they double checked (though maybe not empathetic-ally) in response to my anxious queries about dairy for every non-labeled item (and even when I called back later).

I think reviewers are a bit tough on them for not being our soul mates the moment we walk in, it's easy to expect that since we are in theory united in our wheat-less-ness against a larger unsympathetic world.  It strikes me that being a restricted-diet bakery means your target market is the pickiest group of eaters in town (I know I'm a waitperson's worst nightmare right now) - that's gotta be a tough biz some days.

It's small, I'm thinking they could seat 12 people at most? Only seen a few at a time.  Have pastries, lots of sweet breads.  french bread and pizza crusts to go.  Espressos (nondairy milks too) and teas.  I figured out how to bike there, it will become one of my staple routes. (ballard hills!)

After reading the reviews I am intrigued. I believe the issue may be that the place is a front for some other business and that's why they act like customers are a bother - they are. Now why make a gluten free bakery and not some other type of business as a front you ask - because they thought the gluten free would limit their walk in business. The other theory I have is that gluten free people are just so damn annoying that they are sick of dealing with them. I'm going to go check it out and report back. On a mission...

So after going twice now, I have not experienced any mean spirited customer service, although the woman in question was not behind the counter. (I thought perhaps she was on her computer in the front of the store, only to disappear when i walked in. Perhaps i was recognized!) So the customer service was just fine, it's the offerings I'm not entirely "yay, i'm a fan" fan of. I do appreciate the fact that they are making savory treats. I was very excited by the proscuitto spinach cheese "danish" as the young man called it. It was the closest thing I've had to some type of italian stromboli in a while. It was good, crumbly when warmed, but good (they need a toaster, only have a microwave and a george forman for some reason). Here's my complaint that goes for the $9 bread I purchased as well - I don't think it's very healthy at all. I taste what seems to be a lot of butter or something similar that can make bad bread taste good. Everything just seems really greasy to me. Even the "pitas" they were making for Romio's pizzeria looked it. I get it though - they had to do something, but perhaps further experimentation could make it less artery clogging. After eating a slice of the bread I did have what felt like a doughy lump in my stomach. I wouldn't recommend a sandwich on this stuff. And honestly, their savory case which houses all the pizza slices and other cheese filled goodness needs help! It is so unappetizing - everything looks like it's been sitting for a month. They need to freshen that up - i didn't even bother getting anything from it.
I don't like sweet baked goods so take someone else's opinion on those, and I didn't sit down for breakfast. For my taste it was just okay.
PS - could still be a front because it's kind of in no man's land up on Greenwood and 100th. Only the desperate will travel for this place.

UPDATE:  As of August 17, DaVinci has a whole new look - cleaner, more colorful, open and organized.  Continued touch ups on the space design will unveil over the next month, culminating in a grande re-opening with a new business name!
-------
I'm not even gluten or wheat intolerant and I LOVE the food here!  I bring my friends for Sunday breakfast and they love it.

Every time I go in, there is another delicious item I haven't tried before.  The food here is sinfully delicious.  I've tried some wheat and gluten free foods before and have never been impressed - until now.

They are have some breakfast and lunch options and Sunday morning brunch is delicious!  It just keeps getting better and better.

Every time I go here I'm completely happy with my food and drink.  My boyfriend who loves gluten also has been quite happy with the food here.  Last time we went we had these crazy good breakfast sandwiches and raspberry lemonade.
I know a lot of folks have left bad reviews regarding customer service here and yeah, most of the staff is typical passive aggressive Seattle but the owner is generally in good spirits so I just don't see it.
But for reals, the food is so good here.  I have never been disappointed.  Have the raspberry lemonade and one of her savory breakfast items, you will be in gluten free heaven.

My only complaint is that they've clearly outgrown this tiny converted house and it's sometimes very crowded.

My beloved wife is celiac.  I do most of the cooking at home; I have mad skills.  I am, admittedly, a terrible baker.  Even worse when it comes GF baking.  I went to Da Vinci to get some holiday sweets for my sweetie and was so irritated by the way the couple in line in front of me was treated that I left.

I have no desire to actually find out how good their product is because I already know how good their customer service is.

I am being critical not spiteful.  If they are going to stay in business they need to improve their social skills.

Honestly, I have a high threshold for "poor" customer service.  I don't make scenes or send food back or "angle" my way into free deserts or any of that crap.  But, I will not put up with what I saw.  I don't make enough money to spend it there.

I hope they do something soon, there seems to be a lot of folks who like this place and they are saying nice things here on Yelp! and more and more people are going to walk into that place and..... What?  What are they going to find?  Will they get yelled at?  Will they offend the staff by interrupting whatever they were doing rather than doing business.

I was originally not going to bring this experience to Yelp! as I would rather use this forum for good and I know that this review seems vitriolic... but they brought this upon themselves.

I want them, as the spouse of a celiac, to get their shit together and provide what IS a much needed service.  I want them to succeed.

Good luck, Da Vinci's.

So I discovered Kaili back when she was located in Edmonds - Kaili's Kitchen I believe. I was really diggin' her cooking at the time because she was the only gluten-free cafe/bakery around.

She has since changed her business model to a bakery/coffee shop of sorts and also offers many items without dairy too.

I have to be honest though. Now that I have lived in New York and discovered Babycakes (which delivers cross country) I know GF can be done with so much finesse you can't tell it's different from wheat. Locally, there is another small wonder - the Sno Isle Co-op in Everett. They have the BEST GF, DF, SF, baked goods in the area.

Kaili and FLying Apron don't hold a candle unfortunately. I've also made better stuff at home.

The reviewers should know Kaili is overworked, underpaid, and bipolar (so she says). She is friendly when she wants to be and has a very abrasive personality. She hires her daughters to work at her shop and they clearly LOATH it. They aren't very cordial at all.

All in all she is ONE option. I don't particularly like her lack of customer service skills, but her stuff is decent.

I have just moved to Seattle, a week ago. One thing I really wanted to do, was go to Da Vinci's because I have celiac disease, and there are no gluten free bakeries in Bellingham, where I used to live.

We found it fairly easy, and went into the tiny shop. There was a blond gal behind the register, and she asked if we could order. My husband and I confirmed it was a gluten free bakery, and she rolled her eyes at us. Perhaps it's just me, but I confirm, check, and double check everything I touch, and my other gluten free friends do as well. I was not prepared to go to a GF place and get an attitude for asking.

We explained we were new to Seattle, and had really wanted to come there. The gal behind the counter just stared at us blankly. She then said if we weren't ready, she would be back. Then she disappeared into the back for close to ten minutes while my husband and I stood there.

There were no signs on what the different pastries were, so we had to wait until she came back. When she did, we tried to ask what the different items were, but she was so rude, I just gave a blind guess, and pointed at something. My husband followed suit. I also got a soda.

When we bit into our pastries, we realized they were very overly dense, and super crumbly. We do a lot of GF baking at home from scratch. My husband is a genius with what he creates. I was disappointed to find that my husbands creations were far better. Even my own meager baking skills would have been better. It made me wish for some Kinnickinnik donuts.

I don't want to say the pastries were bad, but GF cooking is always at risk for being dense and crumbly, but we thought it might have needed some more xanthum gum, or something. Very dry, but still sweet.

I shared my soda with my husband, as he could not get his pastry down without it.

We left very dissatisfied. I think if the service were nicer, I could have handled the overly dry pastries with less irritation.

I won't be going back.

After reading Tiff's and Terrell's reviews, I was chomping at the bit to try this haven of gluten-free indulgence. As we approached the stereo repair shop-turned-bakery, we couldn't help but wonder what was in store for us.

Upon opening the door, we were greeted by a cute cafe, with a few tables, chairs, stools, a bus area along the wall, and plenty of good lookin' pastries peeking out from behind glass. Deciding which pastry to order was taxing, but I finally chose an apple scone and immediately signed the mailing list next to the cash register. Stephen opted for the boysenberry scone and a short latte.

According to Stephen, the latte was "ok." The coffee tasted fine, but there was no foam. The scones? We were hella-impressed. Other gluten-free bakery products we have tasted were dry, but Da Vinci's scones were wonderfully moist. Stephen knocked me out of my faux flour daze when he thought out loud, "I wonder how much butter they put in these?" Yeah, I'm sure he's right. But my soul was happy, even if my arteries were going into spasm.

There were separate baskets for trash and recyclables, with most items they serve being recyclable (napkins, paper plates, cups). How can you please a high maintenance Seattlelite more than providing gluten-free alternatives and promoting a green environment?

Mmmmm, sweet potato curry muffin!
I had read the reviews on Yelp that mentioned bad service here.  I found quite the opposite.  The lady who helped us was very friendly and full of information about the pastries.  Plus, she let us know that we could order pies for Thanksgiving.  She also said she was giving a class on making gluten-free gravies, etc.
Between us, we tried the 7-layer bar, the sweet potato curry muffin and the breakfast sandwich  (which was vegetarian).  All 3 were really delicious.
There were samples out of the 7-layer bar and the apple strudel bar.  Everything was yummy and served with a smile!
I plan to return - often!

On this soggy Seattle day, I'd been home awhile when I just decided I needed to get OUT! So I decided to make the gluten-free pilgrimage to DaVinci Bakery, which isn't a huge sacrifice since it's only 25 blocks from my house. If it hadn't been pouring its ass off, I could have ridden my bike there (which I might never do, but I could). In any case, I partly went because Stephen J. has turned me into a mocha-cayenne whore and partly because I needed to check out the whole gluten-free thing.

It's a very cute cafe with parking in front and plenty of items to choose from. There is a wall of bread/muffin items to choose from and cake slices that looked scrumptious. There was also an assortment of sandwiches and dinner items such as lasagna.

I ordered the Picasso which is an orange mocha with cayenne but I opted out of the orange. Seemed a bit much. Then I perused the bakery items on the counter. The chocolatey pumpkin cakes looked yummy but I chose a simple shortbread-y cookie with a cute holiday design.

Driving away, I soon became covered in crumbs but it was worth it. The first bite of cookie was a little weird but by then I was hooked. It was flaky and airy and the perfect mix of sweet and salty. The coffee almost seemed to have too much cayenne but then didn't. I was startled by the hunks of chocolate left in the bottom, but lemme tell you they made that last sip delicious.

Gluten-free folks have nothing to fear except eating too much dessert from DaVinci. Yum!

Update: Last time I was back (cuz I just can't seem to stay away), I got a looksy at their yummy breakfast items that can be served hot. There was a breakfast panini with egg and bacon, a spinach-feta deep-dish quiche, and a breakfast pizza. They looked AWESOME!

Also, I order our Thanksgiving pie from them - Brandy Apple. She gave me a taste and it was YUM! A little on the pricey side but saving me hours of work.

Seeing as how my work spouse is out of the office the rest of the week (taking his real spouse on a birthday getaway), I did not have to resort to Starbucks this morning. Instead, I stopped by Da Vinci to try one of those spicy mochas Tiffany is all crazy about.

The cafe isn't in the most ideal or picturesque setting, located just off Greenwood Ave N, right before you get to 105th. The cute little cottage of a building almost seems out of place here and is a nice addition to the neighborhood.

As I waited for my mocha, I pondered getting a chocolate marscapone scone, but decided against it since I was already going to be downing enough calories for one morning. In the pastry case were all kinds of wonderful things, including a blueberry-lime thingy that made me drool a bit. Trust me, I will be back to try some of those amazing looking desserts.

My mocha was delicious. I'm not really into sweet drinks, but I was assured this wouldn't be too sweet since they use their own chocolate which has no added sugar. They even asked me to take a sip before I left so they could make adjustments for me if necessary. None were needed, of course. The chocolate and orange were just the right amount of sweet to offset the spicy kick of cayenne. I think I'm in love.

Thanks Tiffany!

UPDATE: 4/20/07
After my first glowing review, I have returned to Da Vinci about 5 times. Each time the service has downright sucked. I always feel like I'm in someone's kitchen at home and that I'm in the way. People are bustling about, not paying any attention to me. I order and no one responds. I think no one hears me, and all the sudden a coffee gets shoved my way without so much as a smile.

I took my friend here a couple months ago to try the spicy mocha and was so embarrased that it took us about 20 minutes to get 2 drinks. Again, we were the only people in the joint. The barista appeared to be on drugs. She kept forgetting what she was doing and then she'd just stop, look around, see us standing there and be like, "oh, that's right. I'm at work right now."

This morning I ordered a pastry and drip coffee. The coffee was fine, but when I got to the office I noticed they gave me the wrong pastry and that it wasn't even cooked all the way through. It tastes like ass -- not the best way to start out your morning.

I also notice this morning just how dusty everything is in there. They are in dire need of a spring cleaning!

Outstanding place.  The pastries, breakfast foods, quiche, lasagnas, etc. are all great.  Now, I'm not a gluten-free kinda guy, but just trying some of their food I was blown away.  People make the mistake of assuming this is a coffee shop, but the coffee is really totally ancillary to their main purpose of providing excellent baked goods and pastries without the use of preservatives and gluten.  Everything they make is excellent, and I've never had anything other than a great experience here.

Da Vinci's is a very unassuming bakery that most probably blow by writing it off as a house on Greenwood.  They are really missing out on what is probably the neighborhood's best kept secret.  If you are someone who prefers/requires gluten-free goodies, this is an absolute A+.  They cater to those who request alternative eating options and have dairy-free, soy, vegan, etc.  I'm an equal opportunity eater, and this doesn't disuade me one bit from trying all the things they offer there--it's all delicious.  This place is outstanding, and I hope you take the time to stop by there!

As a  small coffee shop owner myself I really really really wanted to like this place, but I just can't.

On our first visit the barista ( a young girl as most baristas are these days) actually sighed and rolled her eyes while my honey and I spent only a couple minutes perusing their pastry offerings.  If we had been holding up a line I could have forgiven her even that but we were the ONLY people in the place.  Her reaction made me feel awkward so I explained that it was our first visit.  She showed no sign of acknowledging me and proceeded to stare us down until we hurriedly placed our order.

I got a 16 oz iced Americano and my honey ordered a double tall medium capp.  At this point our experience turned bizarre.  She stepped from behind the counter and called the owner (I believe also her mother) to make the capp.  Apparently she had been yelled at by a previous customer for her foaming skills (which she reenacted for us complete with screeching voice) and refused to make capps from that point on.

With the owner behind the bar we thought service would improve, it did but by a barely discernable level.  As she made our drinks we asked about the baked goods and it seemed as if the only thing she focused on was upselling us on pastry.  To the point that she seemed upset when we chose to order one and split it.

We tried again a couple weeks later and were once again the only customers there and once again the drinks were very low quality and the service was bizarrely rude.

The coffee was sub par and the bar area was dirty on both visits.  The pastry was very good and if you are in to gluten free goodies I recommend her offerings highly as long as you don't mind the service.

*Revised- 9/5/07:  Okay, I cannot in good conscience leave up my previous review when I went back there two days in a row, okay three, but on the third it was closed for labor day weekend.  I am adding one star for the lemon, poppyseed, blackberry muffin (yes, all three in one muffin!) and adding another star for the fresh caramel sauce in the lattes.  I ended up going there with my mom, because it was close, and now I can't stay away.  Okay, from reading all the reviews, it is plain to see the service isn't great.  But maybe this just isn't a place to go for service, maybe it's a place whose only intention is to make food like muffins and french loaves for people who can't normally have them.  And from that aspect, most of the time they are dead on.

The food is, for the most part, good.  I have had a couple of misses- lavendar is a spice, and should be used sparingly as such; pass on the apple lavendar turnover.  Also, sometimes pizza crusts are soggy.  The food alone is good, unfortunately there are other aspects to a bakery, such as service.

Whenever I am in here people working are always rude, "oh, you want a coffee too?' or very markety.  When asking about a type of foccacia I was told it was very special and I should buy it because the baker may not ever make it again.  Also, when I told her I was only getting one package of bread because I am the only one at home who eats it, she said, "don't you have a freezer?"

I don't know what I am going to get from the staff and it is very rarely present.  If I am starving I will sometimes stop if it is my only option, but if I am buying really expensive food, I at least want the person selling it to me to be somewhat pleasant.

Heaven. That basically sums it up.

I made the trek north yesterday to grab lunch and take home some fresh baked goodies. I sampled the vegetable quiche, meatball panini, and peach cobbler, washed down by raspberry iced tea. Oh my dear Lord it was AMAZING.

I stocked up on the focaccia bread and a baguette.  I don't even know if I spelled those correctly, that's how long it's been since I had foccacia and a baguette. I also took home a piece of pumpkin lasagna and a cranberry pumpkin turnover, which were both delish.

Granted, it's pricey and the signage kind of sucks (the Da Vinci sign was covered by a sign advertising soup).  But, if you are on a gluten free diet or just friends with a glutard, I highly suggest making the trip. Plus, the girl behind the counter was a total doll and knew lots about what was featured that day, so you'll be sure to find something for everyone.

We stopped in here looking for alternatives for gluten Free pizza crust for Pizza Works in Bothell. We bought a crust to sample, and it was a good alternative, but not in a size we could use.  They produce 12" crusts and we were looking for a 14" crust.

The comments from others on the owner / staff were duly noted with our short visit.

Yes, the service can be spotty - pray you get the owner (Kaili?) as she is prompt and very helpful.  She's been there about 2/3 of my visits so your odds are fairly good.  Espresso drinks are better than average.

The real attraction though is the gluten-free menu; many items are also soy and dairy free.  Our favorites are the bundt cake vegan desserts.  Can be very frustrating determining which offerings do and do not contain various ingredients - dealing with family allergies so we need to be 100% confident.  Frequent customer discount card is nice.

Give them another chance if you've had a bad service experience.

A beacon of hope!  In the endless stretch of apartment complexes and new townhouses on Greenwood Avenue north of the cute part of Greenwood, this little neighborhood cafe is a welcome sign of the kinds of local businesses that could pop up every few blocks and the neighbors would gladly support.

I enjoyed the "Manet" - a lavender mocha. DaVinci's is known for its unusual menu of latte and mocha flavors and its gluten-free pastries. We didn't try the pastries this time, but the rich mochas would please anyone looking for a "treat beverage," whether on a restricted gluten-free diet or not.

The lavender mocha had just the right amount of funky new elements (you don't try a drink with ingredients like lavender, cayenne, etc. for the same old cup of coffee, right?) and satisying chocolatey goodness.

Atmosphere was comfy, barista was friendly and quick, and the savory goodies looked worth a return trip.

I was completely speechless!!!! It came with eggs and hashbrowns, all smothered in this gravy that words can not even describe.... I was offering bites to the table next door, because everyone else wanted to know what I was eating.....
I have been completely spoiled for any gravy, anywhere, ever again...
I am telling you wether you need to eat gluten free or not... this is THE place to go for buscuits and gravy,l chicken fried steak and gravy.... hell anything with that gravy would taste damn good.....

Also, as if that wasn't good enough.... my kids both had the waffles.... and oh my god! They were they most delicious waffles I have ever had.... hands down... my kids kept tellin me to keep out of thier plates.... he he he
this is definately the place to be for breakfast any day of the week...
She is a magician in the kitchen!

Man I must just be lucky.  I live right around the corner from this place and have never had bad service.  Granted, a vast majority of the time I'm helped by the owner Kaili who always greets with a smile and provides prompt service.

If they have it, get the red velvet cake.

Oh goodness, everything I've had at Da Vinci is *amazing*.  The bread is nice and soft for days (something hard to get with gluten-free bread), the scones are heaven for breakfast and the Chicken Marsala was out of this world incredible.  I will freely admit that I wake up salivating over it sometimes.
The cafe is hard to find in the dark and the vibe when I went in there was a bit funky, but the girl behind the counter was very sweet and the food is outstanding!
This is a great place for gluten-free people, as it's entirely gluten-free, so even the most sensitive Celiacs won't need to worry.

Yay:
-the curry-sweet potato cake, soft with a hint of frosting (like gingerbread).
-the coffee (read my profile)
-they try new things, some work, some fail. (Hemp milk? who knew?)
-they are gluten free, my life line.
-outside seating on a warm day.
-owner is really nice, and has lots of info about GF issues.

Boo:
-french bread (I don't like any gluten-free french bread, though).
-not usually a tidy place.

With their gluten-free baked goods, DaVinci Cafe & Bakery is providing a much needed service in the Seattle area. Unfortunately, DaVinci is also providing poor service, disinterested staff and an uninviting atmosphere. The owner and staff seem to believe that customers are an intrusion on their lives.  I base these comments on many trips to DaVinci's. Upon hearing that the bakery was closed briefly in November 2006 by the King County Health Dept. I decided to stay away. (Take a look at the information: http://tinyurl.com/2lvsg9).  I have made a few recent visits and found that the poor service and uncaring attitude remained intact. (The employees all appear to wish they were someplace else). The good news is the bakery has received a clean bill of health from King County so at least in that area they cleaned up their act.
When looking for gluten-free baked goods, try the Flying Apron (at their new Fremont location) or take a drive to Maple Valley (yes, Maple Valley!) and find friendly and clean surroundings at Sunny Valley Wheat Free Bakery (they have online ordering). Also, Whole Foods in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle has gluten free breads and baked goods.
I truly hope the DaVinci people learn that the word is out about their GF food (which is average, by the way) but they also should know that the word is also out about their poor customer service. Many gluten-free people are desperate for baked goods but they should not have to patronize such a bakery with poor, uncaring customer service.

the apple strudel is freaking GREAT! so soft and gooey and delicious. great coffee and tea (they have morning glory chai - yay!)

the service can be less than friendly, and i don't care. they are knowledgable and answer all your questions (even if there isn't always a smile)...then again...i don't go there for smiles. i go there for gluten-free pastries...and oh boy do they deliver those!

the ginger cake was lovely.

yum!

I feel conflicted about this place.  On the one hand I don't ever want to be unkind to a gluten free bakery because they are few and far between.  On the other, this place has slowly but surely become a place I don't bother going to.  I have simple tastes and that's what has caused me to stop going.  I don't want pastries infused with lavender or rosewater.  I just like simple GF goodies.  The orange poppyseed cake or muffins are awesome and there were other things in the past I liked, but between the increasingly overly pretentious food and crappy service I've cut way back on my visits.

the service here is terrible.

other than that, the food is super tasty! as one of the few options in seattle, it's a yummy place to go.

but oh man, i wish the woman owner would lighten up. the first time i went i thought she was just annoyed with me. but subsequent visits have proven that she just doesnt seem to like any of her customers. ever. eek! i almost want to write her a letter because it's kind of sad how mean she is to the customers...

Yummy coffee, nice staff, cute place! Some of the pastries are really good (and I go there just because it's in the neighborhood, not for the need to avoid gluten). They offer some other foods too, but I haven't had a chance to sample them yet. They close at 3 on Sundays.

Delicious smells, indifferent staff, bordering on rude.  The food might be delightful but I couldn't bring myself to ask to overtaxed unhappy looking barista a question.

The baked goods here are pricey but good, but I will never go back., even if gluten-free bakeries are few and far between.  My son and I are both gluten-sensitive and were super excited to find this place.  We went in on a weekend and the owner, her daughter and a group of their friends and/or family??  were sitting at a table together.  We were the only other people in this tiny place. We could barely get any service, they acted annoyed if we wanted or needed something, as if we were interrupting their soiree.  I felt like we had crashed someone's private party and definitely not like we had any right to be there. They were talking and laughing loudly and ignored us the whole time.  What a crappy way to run a business.  It comes off as arrogant.  They want us to buy their stuff, but they don't have to acknowledge us or even give a modicum of  service to make us feel welcome?  They can keep their baked goods to themselves and continue to have their own gatherings there, since they don't seem to want customers in their restaurant.  I will never go back for any reason.  I will go to Flying Apron.

Zero stars for service. I'd heard interesting things about this place, and finally stopped in a few weeks ago. Waiting patiently, I looked over some stratospherically-priced items while what seemed to be the entire staff spent a long time tending to complicated orders from several customers who were ahead of me. After 10 minutes or so I was finally able to position myself at the order counter; no one was there.  I waited for a few minutes and no one ever showed up; eventually I walked out. Since then, the people who had recommended the place say they no longer go there, and I sure won't be back to waste my time.
