Wet, a longstanding gay-oriented strip club, is now closed because of the Stadium boondoggle. $611 million and counting. There's your 10% restaurant tax at work.
An old roommate would regularly attend amateur night, perform, and walk away with $200 or so. I never saw him in the buff, but rumor was he had a distinct advantage over the other candidates from the beginning.
There are attempts to relocate Wet and other displaced bars, but there's fierce resistance from Baptist churches and the like.
And Wet never should have been a site for a bachelorette party. Please. Unless you think gay bars should be converted into into zoos, perfect for gawking. -

All I have to say about Wet is that it gets five stars just because it was a memorable experience. I was here for a bachlorette party, so I sort of have an excuse. I couldn't help but review it and was SHOCKED that no one else had yet. :-P
But I heard a rumor it's closing in September. Not sure if that's true though. The drinks here are cheap, but the cab ride to this part of town drained my wallet even with six other girls in the car.
Um... Wet is *not* for meek or mild hearts.
To the reviewer below me... Um? It was a strip joint... the whole purpose is for gawking! Who cares if they are gay or straight? They didn't seem to mind. SNOB!
