When one of my girlfriends told me that her wedding reception was to take place at Westy's, you could say I was a little skeptical. Although this was one shore bar I had yet to hit up (practically unimaginable!), I had read the reviews and wasn't expecting much... until we arrived.
The outdoor deck and adjoining indoor bar, both located on the second level, were completely decked-out in their wedding best. The bartender at the outside bar was moving rather slowly, but the two ladies at the indoor bar were ready and able to get the booze flowing. Local celeb Bob Kelly had guests shaking their booties on the dance floor before dinner was served.
Passed hors d'oeuvres were not only plentiful, but delish. I loaded up on clams casino, which I declared to be somewhere between my grandmom's recipe and Marc Vetri's at Amis. Now that's saying something. The dinner buffet was the only part of the evening that fell short. Empty chafing dishes were not replaced quickly enough, which kept the line from moving and forced people to select from two or three side dishes while the main courses were waiting to be replenished. The desserts looked nice although I didn't taste any for myself.
Westy's proved to be a really nice venue for a wedding at the shore and is definitely worth checking out.Listed in: Wedding Venues

Went for diner last Friday night. The food is ok and the service wasn't that great. This place is better for drinks at the outside deck during the summer season or inside on the off season weekends. Have been here after dinner else where the past two New Years Eve.'s. Had a blast here with Cindi Raymond and a DJ two years ago but last year there was a band called Stellar Mojo and they sucked. Overall this s a better hang out than an eatery.

I thought it was almost impossible to screw up bar food, I was wrong.
I went here this past saturday for lunch before hitting the beach. We ordered coconut shrimp, 2 buffalo chicken wraps and a quesadilla. The food was very disappointing. It looked like someone had literally crushed ALL of the chips served with our meal in their hands before puttin them on our plates-- I would have been embarassed to serve them to ANYONE.
The buffalo chicken wrap was cold cubes of what seemed kinda like processed boiled chicken with a huge ladel of overly buttery sauce dumped into it. No blue cheese either. The quesadilla was the same thing but just cold chicken cubes and cheese. Our bill came to over $80 for 4 people (we each had a drink too) and it was not nearly worth that. Save your money and eat pizza on the boardwalk. -

My wife and I tried this place and the food was way over salted.

Was a little apprehensive after reading other reviews, well, what a difference a few years and a new chef makes. Beer and bar selections were very good but not great like a brew pub. Food was definitely above average with our party of five ordering something from every quarter. Raw clams: very fresh and tasty; French Onion soup: full taste without that overly salty taste and a healthy piece of melted cheese; Seafood Bisque: excellent though some bigger chunks of seafood would have pushed it into greatness; Beef, Bangers, Pasta, Stuffed Flounder, Crab Cakes all were very good and cooked perfectly. Didn't have room for dessert, maybe next time. Now here's the kicker, three fingers of Jameson neat with a side pint of Smithwick's... $8.25! Don't know about you, but that is true value in my book. The bar tab was VERY reasonable and like I said, the food was very good. We will be coming back and Westy's is going in the book as a favorite.

Decent pub food, the typical chain restaurant Irish theme but a solid selection of beers on tap & an attentive staff, not a bad place to grab a burger & a beer.

Loved the food and Loved the atmosphere (especially the outdoor deck). The only complaint was the service. The waitress did not want our table and suggested we sit inside (where you cannot get the raw bar). We were there for the raw bar and it was a beautiful September day to watch the waves crash on the beach. I will definitely come here on all of our future trips to Wildwood, but hopefully we can get service with a smile the next time!
