South Glastonbury, CT
My go-to nice mall. I love the following stores for both idea browsing and purchasing:
1. Williams Sonoma
2. Renovation Hardware
3. Pottery Barn
4. Pottery Barn Kids
5. Cole Haan (BEST WOMENS SHOES EVER!!)
6. Coach
7. Brookstone
8. Swarovski (yay sparklies!!)
9. Ann Taylor Loft
I always park at the Nordstroms parking lot. It makes it really easy to get in and out of the mall and I never forget where I've parked. As there's no food court, I usually hit the Burger King to get fries for the kids. I'd love to try the Rainforest Cafe, but I think my kids need to be a little older for that one.
There's no play-pit for the kiddies. There are, however, absolutely spectacular family bathrooms and changing areas. There are minitature toilets next to the grown up toilets in 1 of them! I know that's silly to mention in a review, but with 3 kids (2 in diapers) it makes a HUGE difference when Mommy is shopping with the horde.
I've been shopping here for years and have the following tidbit to offer:
When you come for pictures with Santa, come in November when he sets up shop. Once December rolls around you will be waiting in line for an hour plus no matter what time of day you show up.
Enjoy the fanciest mall in Hartford County! -

Next to Danbury, this is my favorite mall. They just need a Lush, and then it might trump Danbury for me.
Kind of odd configuration with corridors, but there's a decent mix of stores. An obvious omission is Old Navy, but it's right across the street so no big deal.
Give me Sephora and the Body Shop and let me eat at CPK and I'm a very happy girl. Free of the raggies and hood rats of other malls (Meriden and Waterbury, I'm looking at you) this is a very respectable mall that should meet most people's shopping needs. Yes, there's Nordstrom, Tiffany, Louis Vuitton and Coach galore, which are out of my price range, but there's a decent selection of reasonable mall staples to keep me happy. -

Overall, this is a nice, clean mall with most major stores you would need. It can be somewhat sparse at times. There is usually plenty of parking.

They've got a Nordstrom, which automatically makes me a fan, but the mix of stores and restaurants makes this the perfect place to spend a rainy day off.
It's a clean and bright place that feels upscale, but not obnoxious. Nothing cutting-edge, but no empty storefronts, so they must be doing something right.
Tips:
* If you're coming from more than 50 miles away, go to the Info Desk upon arrival and show them your license; they'll give you a list of special discounts, some of which are actually useful.
* If you have a stroller or a wheelchair, be aware that there are relatively few mall elevators. Be prepared to schlep back and forth to use them.
* There are a lot of sitting areas scattered throughout the mall, but if you want one in relative privacy (that's not a Nordstrom Ladies Lounge), try the hallway next to Louis Vuitton's mirrored exterior. It's always empty. Maybe normal people are intimidated.
* Stop at Trader Joe across New Britain Avenue on the way home, so you won't have to make dinner in your exhausted state. -

Best mall in on this side of CT! It's a pleasure to walk through this mall as it is not too small and not too large. It's easy to get around here. The luxe brands of Louis Vuitton and Tiffanys opened a few years ago. New restaurants are Brio Tuscan Grille and PF Changs. Recent jewelry stores opening are Pandora and Temptation. It has your mall usuals, the Macys, Starbucks, Gap, etc.
The mister and I took advantage of winter clearance sales. This shopaholic scored bargains at Ann Taylor Loft while the mister shopped for dress shirts and sweaters at Brooks Brothers. We love shopping especially if it the end of the season sale! What a way to spend an afternoon, shopping and saving $$$. -

..... I've seen better. Has what you need if you're in the area, but don't expect the world, although sadly it probably is the best mall in Ct..

Hands down the best mall anywhere near here. Great upscale shopping and lots of options for shopping and dining. Plus the restaurant "pagers" when you are waiting for a table will work a little ways into the mall so you can shop while waiting for a table if it is more crowded at the time you are trying to dine.
Unlike many malls this doesn't seem to be a "hang out" for local teens. That makes it a more pleasurable shopping experience for someone like me who isn't crazy about unruly kids.
The only thing that would make this even better are more quick dining options. This mall doesn't have a traditional food court like many do. There are a few quick dining options but spread throughout the mall. And selection of these is limited. -

I remember going to West Farm's Mall 30 years ago. It was lot different back then. Certainly a lot more causal and kid oriented, since then It's grown and become far more sophisticated with more expensive and yuppier type stores. For most of my needs that are other malls that I prefer but West Farm's has found it's niche and exploits it well.
Last time I was there it was packed and parking anywhere near the mall was difficult to find and not very many stores inside were vacant so I guess it's doing pretty well in a lousy economy. One good thing, at least for shopping, is that the entire area around the mall has developed into a vast smush of stores which makes coming here convenient if not particular pleasant to look at. -

Call me a mall guy, but I've been to every mall in the state and this one is the best. It has the best stores, the best layout, and the best parking. More importantly it has what matters: the best chicks, best MILFs, and best cougars. So if you guys aren't into shopping, there's always wonderful eye candy available to pass the time. Look but don't touch.
I'm not sure why, but this mall doesn't have the same problem the other malls have with inner city retards congregating in the corridors. Maybe they're intimidated by the mall's fortress-like construction or maybe they're too busy ogling the big screen TVs across the street at Best Buy. Whatever the reason, it just works. At this mall actual paying customers reign supreme, not gang banging schmucks who don't have a pot to piss in.
So three cheers for good old fashion materialistic consumerism. You'd think Fairfield County would have the best mall in the state. But it doesn't. The best mall in the state is alive and well in Hartford County. -

This is the nicest mall in CT. Everything you could ever need and none of the little punks loitering the place on the weekend like in other CT malls.
The store selection is great: Apple, Williams Sonoma, Nordstrom, Sephora, Tiffany, Louis Vuitton(!!!), Solstice, Coach, J.Crew,Martin & Osa, Restoration Hardware, etc.
The restaurants are okay, and I actually like the fact that there is no actual food court. CPK, Ruby's, Rainforest Cafe, Uno's, Au Bon Pan, etc.
Whenever I need to hit up a mall, I never cringe if I know Westfarms is in my future.
During the holiday season this mall has valet parking, too!Listed in: Born to Shop

high end stores, clean and easy access to the best stores thru nordstroms. Parking is always a pain as its always packed

I give it 5 stars just because it is the only decent mall in the area. I shop here specifically for the Apple Store and Nordstroms.
Another thing, people are actually shopping at this mall. I don't know if they have better security here or what but... there are no mall rats hanging around causing trouble like at Meriden. You can easily shop on a Saturday night and not feel like you have to clutch your bag or watch your back. -

I agree with Joshua's, albeit short, review. lol It IS one of the nicest malls in all of Connecticut!
I mean it really has it all: Nordstrom, Macy's, Lord & Taylor...and all of your little stores: Abercrombie, Aveda, Aldo, Steve madden and such...
Good thing too, right across the street is a Filene's Basement and an Old Navy so if you just so happen to NOT find what your looking for, head on over there for even MORE goodies to be had.
Also, if you're shopping with the little ones, there's a Rainforest Cafe for all of their entertainment needs...so bribe the little buggers to go shopping with you and as a reward for good behavior, you can take them there for lunch! lol
Tip: make sure you wear some serious rain slicker boots during the holidays if you plan on doing your Christmas shopping here...the parking lot becomes a big ol' dirty, slushy mess and it just SUCKS if you have to park far away and walk with a ton of bags. Even Santa doesn't put up with the likes of that! -

This is definitely a very modern mall that has probably gone over a lot of remodeling and renovation.
They have tons of stores for every budget. A huge parking lot and very comfortable rest areas spread throughout. One of my favorite parts of the mall is the Starbucks that sits across from the customer service area. It's clean, fun and there are tons more comfortable seating in that area to add to the mall's charm.
I love the white ultra modern decor throughout and given the chance could spend hours here. If it were closer to my home this would be MY MALL. But, alas, it's more than 2 hours away so this is a destination mall which is also good and fun. -

A really nice mall, not far from where I work. I remember the old Westfarms with it's Suncoast, it's theater, Arthur Treacher's, A&W, Kathy John's, FYE (Please come back!), and all the stores that have come and gone.
There are still stores that I shop at like Borders Express, J.C. Penney, Foot Locker, Game Stop, Hot Topic, and the only remaining Disney Store in CT. They don't have a food court, but that's okay. My places to eat are P.F. Changs and Cali Pizza Kitchen, also the new gelato shop is good too, it replaced Pralines, which has returned. But Gusnova Gelato is better. -

this mall is better than holyoke mall, but it's always busy (then again most malls are)
i really don't like the fact that they don't have a food court, maybe because i'm used to them and i dont really like the places to eat that they have.
overall this mall is worth a visit, but i prefer to stay in mass and just deal with what i have up here rather than make the commute -

I love this mall and shop specifically here because of Nordstrom's and Lord & Taylor. For women who like make-up and skin care products Sephora and MAC cosmetics are the spots. I also Mrs. Field's for a quick sweet treat.
