when flying into CT or even NYC, consider flying into Westchester County Airport (HPN). conveniently located between NYC (30 minutes north) and stamford/norwalk/fairfield, CT (30 west), you avoid having to deal with the traffic to get to LGA or JFK.
the good - parking is great. drive in, unload, walk 30 seconds to the terminal. easy to get to from I-684 or the merritt (get off on the king street exit and take the back roads). you won't get lost in this airport...which is about the same size as my high school gymnasium (montgomery blair hs, silver spring, md) ... seriously
the bad - the waiting pen gets really full on friday evenings. make sure to get a spot and never get up! you won't be able to sit again. the bar/restaurant upstairs is eh. don't order the mexican omlette. there was salsa from 1920 and huge uncut olives. why why why olives? parking......there is no long term parking. shell out $22/day no matter what. the lot gets pretty full on the popular holiday weekends

Its gotta be up there with some of the smallest airports in the nation and easily the smallest in the area. The place only has one terminal, one small area for baggage claim, and a couple of bathrooms. You won't find fancy self-check in kiosks here but rather a couple of check in counters, with folks who are happy to assist you.
Its charming, its almost cute in its own little way. Sometimes its a nice departure from the mega airports from frequently flying around. Just consider that its practically dead at night and that late night flying here may not be the best as transportation from this airport can be very limited.
