I also had a negative experience when I came here for an ultrasound.
When I came in and handed over my paperwork, the intake staff looked at my referral, looked at me, and laughed. At first I was told that the person who had accompanied me would not be allowed to come in the room with me; she was later allowed in. The ultrasound technician was extremely rushed and in my opinion insensitive to my concerns, and she did not follow the procedure as my physician had described it to me.
I did not see dirty facilities, but the ultrasound area I was in was extremely cramped.
When I returned at a later date to get a copy of the film, my request had not been processed for some reason. The medical records room I saw was overflowing and appeared to be unorganized; some records were stored in USPS bins.
After I shared my experience with the doctor who referred me to West Side Radiology, she began referring her patients elsewhere.
I had a terrible experience having a PET/CT scan here. I have had the test done many times before, so I know how things "should" work.
My major complaint was that the place was extremely messy and dirty. There are a few front rooms that are neat, but the PET area is extremely grungy, with stacks of paperwork, moldering newspapers, and antique medical equipment lying in piles. The floors and walls are dirty. I particularly noticed the light switches had smears of dirt on them, which made me think that the employees were not washing their hands. My examining room had dirty towels lying on the stretcher, which was itself covered with a stained and hair-covered sheet. When I went to actually do the test they tried to cover me with a blanket that they had used on the previous patient (who had been coughing the entire time).
Secondly, I felt that the nurse was not very professional. For example, after ham-handedly putting the IV in my arm, he tested my blood sugar by squeezing some blood onto a paper towel in my lap and then poking the blood stain with a OneTouch meter. I have never seen such a way of doing a test!
